Super 8 by Wyndham Hearst ON

Overpriced room for a wire out not updated, mostly nothing working place to stay. I went here and wished I didn't. After overpaying I went to my room. Was bad and should not be renting under Wyndham name. Last time I book at a Wyndham super 8 mote l. The breakfast was toast and muffins, I had to stop somewhere else on way out of town Disappointed to say the least. Live and learn

I was on a long drive from halifax to regina with my wife, my 2 year old son and my mother.
Hence I booked rooms in different cities in the hotels week in advance.
About the super 8 in Hearst,
I checked in using Wyndham mobile application as well. (Aug 29)
I reached the hotel around 6pm after a 1000km drive on that day. The receptionist confirmed the check in, gave me the key to the room. When I entered the room, the room was not serviced- the house keeping was not entered after the last guest left. When I told the lady at the front, she told me she is just a night staff and too bad the house keeping and day staff didnt do their job and she is not responsible for that.
She told me there are no rooms available and find a room somewhere else. (This is for the room I booked week ago and already checked in) And at that point I was in a remote city where I stood with my family with my small baby and she said she didn’t care.
I had to spend more money and effort to find a bed to sleep on that night where it was not a usual place I would go with my family. Not to mention the mental trauma we had to go through that night.
It was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

Stated price is misleading. We were booking a hotel online for one night and for room cost of $124 we got an additional charge of $78. We have not completed the transaction, but anyway received a confirmation from CCI*Hotel res.

It's great, the kids will love to swim and breakfast starts so early that's a plus

The staff is great. Friendly, quick and professional. But every time we get a room there, there's an issue with the place, not the staff, just the place.

We got a room 3 times in the last 2 months, but the first 2 times they had no pool, so we left way earlier than expected. And we decided to try one last time this weekend, for our early Valentine's day weekend. Well we decided to leave early yet again this morning.

Yesterday when I went to get our key card room, they were finally getting the pool heater fixed, so the water of the pool was very cold still. So we said that we'll sleep one night, and that we'll wait until tomorrow around 10h30am to check out the pool again, and it was still cold, despite the heater running all night. We assume it will take a few days for it to get warm, but no more, we're done trying.

To top it off, the pancake machine kept working on and off, so some people were able to get some, and others not. The ones who managed to get some had to mess around with the machine, and be very patient. But again, It was still on and off. The guy behind the counter just said it was broken. We love super 8 pancakes and were not able to get it. But the cold pool is our main reason for leaving early yet again.

I suggest people to drive an extra hour to Kapuskasing, to get a warm nice pool, and great pancakes for breakfast. It's what we'll do from now on. Every time we go there, it's what we get.

It's to bad, because the staff is super great. Marc-André, Mira and the rest of the staff, are great behind the counter, and go out of their way to try to help you out. But they work with what they've got, and it all needs an upgrade.

Again, the staff is not the problem, the place needs a major revamp.

We stay on December 22 2022. Breakfast was OK. The hotel looks clean.
Only downfall was that we specifically booked this hotel for pool, but the pool was out of order. Would of been nice to know before we checked in. Price was high
for not being able to use the facilities

Room was clean, beds were clean but there was no coffee available at the continental breakfast and the food that was left looked questionable.

It’s a motel folks and for a Super 8 it was the cleanest I’ve been in. We travelled 14 hours and needed a place to crash. It was the best rate in town, with the restaurant next door it was very convenient.

Restaurant was great! Food was hot and fresh! Waited approximately 20 mins.

If you need a place to stay while travelling through this is a great option. Staff was great!

Wonderful and very clean place to stay. Extremely friendly staff. If you will pass the night here, you will be received with a very warm and smiling welcome. I love it and highly recommend it.

The room was clean. The beds are hard, but I actually loved that and slept very well. There was a "grab and go" type of breakfast set up due to Covid, which was nice. It won't be winning any beauty contests, but the hotel should meet just about anyone's needs and is reasonably priced.

Fairly basic but clean. Their free early breakfast needs a definite upgrade. (we tried to have some yogurt and other condiments which were housed in a small fridge with see through door but was locked and the attendant nor manager had the right combination of the lock)

I wish I could agree with all the great reviews. I found the Super 8 to be pretty grungy and dirty. The restaurant beside the hotel was absolute trash. That includes both Food and service.
I will say though, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming.
As far as comfort and relaxation, I did not enjoy my stay.

Overall a very decent hotel despite its location. The only downside is that the beds aren’t the best and the bathtub feels dirty.

Arrived and had hair & black dirt on bathroom floor. Hair in one bed. Dust on coffee maker & headboards. Booked room for 2 adults & 2 kids. We have 1 cup, 1 regular coffee & 3 decaf. "Free Breakfast" consisted of oatmeal packets, granola bars, half frozen muffins, prepackaged hard boiled eggs, fruit cups and apples, clementines & 1 banana. No actual cream or milk for coffees. Not impressed. When we complained to front desk. Excuse of being under staffed and offered to change us rooms. Why weren't we give a clean room to begin with if they have one available?

Very clean hospitable and the people are really nice. The night I spent there I was able to relax and have a good night sleep. I would recommend anyone to stay here. They are also pet friendly

Stayed a night here on a road trip, rooms are extremely clean and decorated nicely, and staff are friendly. Has a pool, hot tub, and breakfast included. Pet friendly and one of the cheapest places to stay nearby in terms of cost. Definitely worth the price and will stay there again if we ever find ourselves driving the same way.

Was a good stop. Receptionist was excellent and helpfull. With Covid - 19 they did the best effort to make it a good stay. Good job.

Really great place to stay! Front desk workers were very helpful on check in and check out. Pool was oldish but still nice. Hot tub wasn't a commercial inlaid one but still adequate for 4 ppl. Sauna and steam room looked great but closed because of pandemic. Continental breakfast was understandably limited but still juice, coffee, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal. Fresh fruit would have been nice and doesn't seem like an issue to have even in lite of covid. Could Park right outside the room and had door to inside hallway as well.

Had such a great experience, the staff at the front counter was extremely outstanding and helpful, accomadting all our needs. Room was very clean! All amenities were available, even makeup remover wipes! Fridge and microwave available. I definitely would return for a room at this location.

The room was left from housekeeping with unmade bed with linens sitting there washroom was not cleaned basically room had been started and left. I went to the front desk to report and was offered a room with no view and looked like a dungeon because of no natural light. We were offered a room upstairs but my husband was injured and can’t climb stairs. I said I would just make the bed and was told I would get a partial refund but never did. I asked the front desk clerk if she wanted to see and was told no I’m too busy and this isn’t the first room today. I won’t be staying there again.

Not a bad place to stay on the way home from a hunting trip. I had to sleep beside my father in law which is worse than having a small bear with ADD beside you. The tub drain was a little slow which left me standing in a week's worth of my own filth. And the sink plug wasn't connected so I got so to stick my hand in 3 inches of hairy water to get it draining. Overall. The toilet seat was warm and I didn't have to get up at 2am and go pee outside. I would recommend this place.

Le seul probleme est que jentendais trop bien la chambre du haut qui faisait beaucoup de bruit. Arrivez également plus de 30 minutes en avance pour déjeuner car ils allaient tout serré quand je suis arrivee 32 min.avant la fin du déjeuner
