Surmesur Custom Menswear

Thank you to Sur Mesur for designing and tailoring the suits for my wedding party. Even when there was a miscommunication they jumped right in with solutions, and my friends have never looked better! I recommend Sur Mesur to anyone who wants a custom suit made just for them.

Very disappointed with the service at Surmesur. I will start off by saying that my wedding party was large and we spent close to or on excess of 10k. We went in for suit fittings and getting timelines and dates organized in MARCH of 2023 for a wedding in September 2023. The original stylist was extremely hard to get a hold of. I had a groomsmen that was out of country and they reassured me that they offered a zoom experience for the first fitting to ensure we got that suit ready. They stylist never contacted or joined that zoom call and just sent a word document after to explain how to do it on your own. When this stylist was moved to another location I was not advised until I finally got frustrated with the lack of answering calls and emails that I eventually just emailed everyone including the owner/manager Todd. I was then finally told that the stylist had been moved and that we had a new one.not sure why no one told me that so that I could keep everything on track. All of my other groomsmen were fitted in person and we have multiple issues with wrong sizing and fitment to the point where I had 1 groomsmen get his suit 2 days before my wedding and my best-man only received his suit THE DAY BEFORE my wedding due to their constant errors (they had to remake his suit entirely). I bought everything through them including ties, bowties, pocket squares etc. So if my group and I are spending in excess of 10k and that is the service I would hate to see an individual trying to buy 1 suit. Be aware you should know how a suit fits prior to going to this place of business, shoulders on jackets are sometimes not done right and their $250 dress shirts do rip/quality concerns as well. Todd I presume you will read this and we can chat further on this should you wish.

Excellent quality and service. Samuel worked with us and was extremely kind, worked with our schedule, and took his time to help. He knows everything about suits, including their history. We made a totally customized suit, fitted perfectly, with a personal touch.

I came to Surmesur for my custom wedding suit. Mickey in the Ottawa shop was my stylist. Both the experience and the customer service were fantastic. Mickey goes above and beyond to ensure his clients are satisfied and having fun through the process. He really understands that, for a groom and for the wedding couple, there are so many things to organize and take care of in organizing a wedding, and so Mickey really takes care to go the extra miles to make the process of making your custom wedding suit easy and relaxed. For example, Mickey readily made himself available to quickly adapt to my changing schedule, always in a relaxed and understanding way. This was super appreciated. He was really quick on email and text messages. This might seem a minor detail, but grooms and wedding couples reading this review will understand how important this is when you're contacting so many folks on all aspects of your wedding. Receiving timely advice and answers to your questions are greatly appreciated. Mickey, thanks so much for being a meaningful part in the lead-up to our special day - I'm going to need a summer suit for our honeymoon, so let's start thinking about what's going to look great on a Greek island.:)

Had an absolutely wonderful experience at this store. Communication was excellent prior to our appointment. We were helped by Sam who took his time and spent about 2.5 hours with my boyfriend to make a custom suit and two shirts. The entire staff were friendly and expedient. The store was busy but not crowded and we never felt rushed. This will be our go-to spot for all of our suiting and tailoring needs.

We had an amazing experience with Mickey. He was very knowledgeable, personable, took the time and effort to understand our concept for the day and created the perfect suit for the wedding.

Great experience! Walked in there with a general idea of what I wanted to wear for my brother's wedding. Michael (Mickey) was my stylist and I said: I want something green, classy and stylish, something that stands out, just enough to turn heads but not give people neck pain. Mickey took the time to show me all my options. Excellent stylist! I got everything I wanted and more. Just came back from the wedding and let me tell you that suit was magical!

Todd and Jared are absolute professionals when it comes to customer service. Not only did they make the buying experience fun but they gave me a huge sense of confidence in the decisions I made building my wedding tux. The end result is flawless and even after COVID delaying our wedding day, Todd had me come back in for a “does this still fit” appointment with the same amount of care and consideration as when I was originally buying. I went into Surmesur as a complete novice to the concept of custom fit menswear, let alone suits. Jared was absolutely phenomenal in terms of his patience, as well as his input on the customization experience. The confidence required for a specialist to provide opposing suggestions to the client is a thing that takes a special touch to do effectively, and Jared hit the nail on the head. Recently, I got to experience Surmesur's amazing service for myself. My fiance and I were nervous about getting his new suit in time for our wedding due to COVID, but we were assured we'd be in good hands.

We booked an appointment with Jared and we were so impressed by his professionalism, suggestions, and (excuse the pun) his tailored approach to our needs. I sent him some information ahead of time to show him my dress and he was incredibly discreet when guiding my fiance through decisions that would ensure we look great together on our special day.

Todd did an amazing job with my fiance's measurements and his suit fit perfectly when it came in. Jared was then also able to help us find the perfect accessories to complete his look.

I'm very impressed with Todd and Adrian at Surmesur's Ottawa location. They're very knowledgeable and helpful. Really offer the white glove treatment to their clients, whether they are just browsing or making a purchase. I was recently fitted for a custom shirt and delighted with the quality customer service. Looking forward to sporting my new shirt when ready. Definitely worth a trip to downtown Ottawa to see them.

Jared from Surmesur provided me with the best advice in planning the design of my tuxedo for my wedding. My wife and I first visited him before the pandemic started. Jared guided us through the process and we were very happy with the end result. Jared even told me that I could call him on the day of my wedding if I needed help with my bow tie.

Just went into Surmesur to look into having blazers made for a wedding next year. The salesmen (Jared and Todd) were wonderful to deal with. They had some great ideas and made wonderful suggestions to help us narrow down what we were looking for.

The service is wonderful, and the clothing is top notch. I can't go back to off-the-rack dress clothes anymore! Only once have they ever made a mistake on my order, and they immediately owned up to it, fixed the issue, and addressed the reason the mistake was made. They even gave me a small discount on my next order. Can't ask for more than that!

From the moment I stopped by to window shop for the first time, to the time my wedding party was fully suited to the nines, the staff at Surmersur made every step of our experience seamless and very personable. Kayla, Anthony and Jared worked with us to make sure that we walked away with exactly what we came looking for.

From day one, without an appointment, Kayla welcomed Amanda and I with an offer of friendship…, and a beverage or two. She was more than patient walking us through the entire process before knowing whether or not we had decided to go through with the purchase. She was always extremely punctual in responding to my several e-mails and answering all of our questions. She made sure to take care of my grooms people, even considering one residing in Toronto and another in Vancouver, not to mention she helped us tailor a beautiful woman’s suit that integrated perfectly with the rest of the groomsmen. She always knew what she was doing, and I have 100% trust in her guidance and advice.

Anthony was always friendly and sociable whenever I made a surprise drop in to the store and was also ready to answer any questions I had in Kayla’s absence. Further to that, Amanda and I received the added benefit of learning a thing or two about plant care. Last but not least, Jared was also very patient in helping me, especially groomzilla me, and my Ottawa-based groomsmen tailor our suits to the perfect fit.

After nearly six months of working with the Surmesur Ottawa team, I was extremely happy with the finished product, and I can honestly say that they professionally offered kindness and friendship on top of their sales service. I more than happily recommend the team to anyone looking to custom tailor their suit (s).

What can I say that hasn't been said in the previous reviews! The whole team at Surmesur Ottawa are outstanding and provide the best customer service. I worked closely with Todd for new suits and shirts. The process is easy and straight forward. Best shirts and suits I've ever have.

I worked primarily with Kayla but also Todd, Jared and Walid to craft the perfect shirt for my wedding. The french cuffs didn’t fit with my suit (bought elsewhere, to my chagrin), but no problems, they replaced the cuffs with convertible ones. I had some serious issues with my suit (see above chagrin) but they worked with me to tailor everything in time for the wedding. I would totally recommend the folks at Queen St, Ottawa for their attention to detail, knowledge, friendliness and for caring about the customer. The shirt was a hit, especially the black buttons.should have bought my suit there as well.

Best place in Ottawa to get a well made and well tailored suit. Todd who is now the manager of the store first made me a suit about 3 years ago. I went back recently to get another suit and some shirts and they both came out perfectly again. His attention to detail and excellent customer service make the experience even better. If you go, make sure to ask for Todd!

Cannot recommend enough if you're looking to buy a suit. Very happy with the final product and the customer service along the way was fantastic! Todd helped me design my suit and took the time to explain the different options and styles in detail. The rest of the team were also very friendly and knowledgeable when I went in for my fitting once the suit was ready - I'll be back!
