Worst after sales support. Had issues with my sofa as the stitching came off after a few months. Contacted them as it was under warranty. Submitted everything as told but no response to my emails and no update even after two months now.
Pathetic service.

Discovered this place via Google. Came by today to shop mattresses, and VERY happy with what we found. Super affordable prices and great quality items. Contrary to what the website says, though, they currently don't have all items in stock, for those wishing to take it home immediately. Good customer service & nice employees. Will definitely return again next time we need furniture.

On a bright sunny day, we came to surplus to buy a sofa love seat. However, Our day was made brighter with an amazing deal on two sofas by Baha. Amazing, enthusiastic guy. I purchased furniture here as I was relocating to Kitchener. Unfortunately, a family emergency happened and I had to stay in Alberta.
This place was fantastic and helped me out in every way to ensure I could receive my furniture in Alberta. I 100% recommend this place. Fantastic customer service.

Used to come here for the great deals however I think I’ll be going elsewhere going forward, the newer younger staff seem to have no problem lying to you to try and make commission and are very pushy, just be careful especially if you’re an anxious person like myself

Got multiple furniture worth 3500 cad. Not even a year and one leg of King size bed broken.

Had to struggle calling them (more than 30 times) and visiting multiple to get assistance in finding replacement part. Since they stopped dealing with vendor for 1 month made me wait and tried to fool me with not fitting replacement piece.

Everytime I call have to explain whole issue. Even to the same person.

I ended up filing warranty claim and it's been 2 weeks still waiting for the refund.

They said standard processing time is 2 weeks for the claim but when I asked for the next steps since it's past 2 weeks, the answer wait indefinitely till we hear back

Poor quality of product and worst / rude service.

Great service, fast delivery, super happy! We assembled the couch ourselves which was totally fine, only took 10 mins tops. Did not need a drill or any tools, the couch feet holes were already there. Delivery guys were so funny and fast, well worth $65.00 fee. Only "criticism" is that they give a free accessory when buying a 2 piece couch set which we did not receive since we just bought one massive couch. Totally understandable, but would've been a nice "cherry on top" since a two piece set is not applicable (or possible) to our purchase

We bought a new couch and loveseat over the weekend and set next day delivery. The delivery was right on time, but the fellows noticed the wrong couch had been packed for us! They arranged to bring it first thing the next day. A bit of a hiccup but they noticed and resolved the issue promptly and the couch is great.

Bought a sofa and love seat set with same day delivery. (Came with 3 piece table set, mirror and shelves) It was delivered in less then 2 hours and They brought it straight into the basement for me.
The sales team was very helpful and provided all the information I needed when asked.
Would highly recommend if you’re in need for quick quality furniture.

I spent a few thousand dollars on a bed set. The Queen beds have four slats but I was assured that would be fine and I didn't need a box spring.because of the cheap construction there were multiple issues with the bed, and it took a lot of days for people to come up with a solution. There are a lot of sighs and condescending attitudes generally over the phone. The first time the bed broke it took four days and I spoke with four different people to get to any solution. The next time it broke I was told that this was the last time they were going to be able to replace the pieces for me even though the bed had only been with me for less than a month at that point. I ended up going to Lowe's and getting some lumber to support the mattress and everything is great now. Unless you're willing to spend extra money to actually make the furniture work I wouldn't really recommend buying from here. I don't know if it's just me but when I spend a few thousand dollars I expect the product to not break multiple times and for the service to be less ridiculous.

Staff is very rude and not helpful at all. We bought a full condos worth of furniture from here in July, everything was in stock and that's why those items were purchased. The next week when we were to pick everything up our couch wasn't in and our coffee table and end tables weren't either. We settled for another couch but waited until now OCTOBER and they still didnt have the tables that were "in stock" when purchase in July.we went back for a refund and was spoken to very rudely and werent offered an apology of any sort. Dont shop here

I have bought furniture here on two separate occasions, most recently a bed. Amazing service. The two men I dealt with, Steve, and another man whom I unfortunately didn't catch the name of, were phenomenal. Excellent customer service, straight to the point, super friendly and great senses of humor. Since I knew what I wanted, I was in, out, and had my car loaded up with the bed in less than a half an hour. The young man that loaded up the car was very friendly and did a great job. Would definitely recommend this place, great service, and great prices. The store is very clean and open so you can easily find what you need.

If you asked me about a month ago to write a review about this place I would have given it a 3-4 star rating however, after my most recent experience I am unimpressed with the service I received.
I ordered/put on layaway a bedroom set from this establishment at the beginning of September.told them I would be back in 2 weeks to pay it off. The man told me I was in luck and the only piece they didn’t have in store was the bed rails but good news they could ship them in from a different location. When I came in to pay off my bed room I was told it would be about another week before the furniture came in which was fine.after a week no call, no update.so again, I call.another week. Okay that is fine - then I call on the 20th no update or information so I call Wednesday the 23rd and was told that my furniture was being delivered to the store Friday and all was good for my delivery Saturday.between 1 & 5. So I called again on Friday just to be sure as I needed to get rid of my other furniture and wanted to be sure this stuff was coming.again the man told me that my delivery was coming between 1 & 5 on Saturday and that the delivery charge was 85$ to Cambridge. So, Saturday morning I get rid of all my old bedroom furniture- my room was bare.and I never received a call so, I called myself and was told they didn’t have ANY of my furniture. I was furious as I was just told 2x that my furniture would be delivered Saturday the 26. They had every excuse in the book as to why my furniture was not there (I also understand that companies are having a difficult time getting furniture across the boarder - however, this was not communicated.all it takes is a phone call.which they are bad at on several occasions they said they would call me back and never did) the store manager even threw one of his employees who was not there to back himself up “under the bus” as the person who told me my furniture would be there “and he shouldn’t have been making promises”. I was so enraged at this whole situation as now I had no furniture. The only good thing about the experience was that the refund transaction was quick and painless.
Needless to say, this was NOT the experience I had hoped for when I walked in at the beginning of September.
I ended up buying a better bedroom set from another company that was able to give me the floor model THAT DAY.

The only reason I am giving this place a 4 star and not 5 is because of the company they move with. Everyone at this location is absolutely amazing. Super nice, super helpful and super forgiving. I cannot sing enough praises about their customers service and professionalism, and the prices are fantastic. My only bone of contention is the company that moves their furniture. The day I moved in, the company forgot to drop off my furniture. The guys inside were super helpful and gave me an upgraded box spring, 2 VERY comfortable pillows for free and I was on my way. The next day they delivered it, but only wanted to do curbside and not bring it up like they were supposed to. I was at work and had to speak to them on the phone to get them to do that part of the delivery. Then they couldn't bring the sofa upstairs because the hallway was too narrow. I said to take it out of the box and we could remove the railing but they wanted no part of it and really just wanted to run off. We went back to get a new couch so it would fit upstairs. Again they were super helpful and kind, and even waved the few extra dollars that it cost to get everything new including and armchair. I am getting my things delivered tomorrow, but they have assured me that they will speak to the drivers and even get us a new one if they refuse to do their job like they did. Honestly, I am looking forward to tomorrow as this time I know they have my back. I highly recommend their furniture as it is great quality and great price. If you can get it yourself I would do that, but I am confident that after the incidents we had nothing like this would happen again.

Update: was brought in without a hitch and they even set up my armchair and sofa for me. Redeemed.

Charged for delivery. But the lamps were not delivered. They want a 68 year old man who does not drive to pick up his lamps. Insteadoffering to deliver them for him.do not buy from this company.

Bought a sofa and loveseat from Surplus Furniture on Courtland less than a year ago. The wood frames on both have collapsed, a metal bar exploded from the back of the sofa and gouged the wall. Junk. Decent prices, decent furniture. Friendly staff. Bought sofa and love seat and it was delivered the next day. Initially delivered wrong colour loveseat but they fixed the situation and had the correct love seat delivered within 2 hours. All in all a better choice than the over priced giants like Leon's and the brick.

The sofa and love seat I bought are garbage quality and are falling apart.

Ive bought furniture here years ago and never had an issue, went here again and had the same great service, went late in the day and they were still able to deliver that day!

Just bought a brand new couch and love seat set from here. Cheaper than any other furniture in this area and surrounding cities but still has great quality. Staff is really helpful and kind.

Place was okay, great customer service, just thought there would be more options and a little better pricing range.

No strings attached. Straight to the point and honest prices. Love shopping at this place. Have purchased a couch and came back for a mattress. Best part is that they do not waste your time like some of the other furniture stores. Check out process is QUICK and simple. Last time i was at the Brick the check out took more than 45 minutes and then they made me sign up for a credit card which cant be paid online. Long story short this place will save you time and money and get you the same quality product if not better.

Avoid this store at all costs. Sales guy is just horrible. To much personal info required to complete an invoice. Garbage furniture that is over priced. No one seemed to care if you were even in the store. Misleading advertising.

Bad experience here today. To begin, walked in and was not greeted once by staff. Moving on, we were interested in a dinner table and went to ask someone for some help. He came and told us how much it would cost and then we let him know we wanted the chairs as well, he said he was going to let us know how much they would cost and he never even came back. We were left waiting for a while and we just decided to leave. Walked right in front of the staff at the front and they did not even seem to care. We’ve bought plenty of things here in the past, too bad they’ve lost us as customers. We’ll be finding our dinner table elsewhere.

Amazing store with some very nice staff. Had been there to get sofa set and ended up buying coffee table and wall clock also. Has the salesman’s there even gave discount on top of all the discounts.
Next time went to buy a study table for my kids. Has was again there to answer my questions and I finalised it in half the time expected.

Every bad thing you could imagined happened.

I had purchased a bed set (frame, dresser with mirror and 2 bedside tables) and a couch from this place. Everything was delivered on time except for the dresser (but the mirror was delivered that attaches to the dresser, which I found weird, but besides the point.)

When I opened the boxes for the bed frame I noticed the slats were missing and had to go drive to the store to get them. So not only did I not have the dresser, but pieces were missing for the bed frame as well.

Now, they said the dresser will be delivered asap and they would get back to us. Weeks later and they never did and I had to keep calling to follow up, to which I had to explain myself everytime like they never knew what I was talking about. So I went into the store only to listen to them call the other store and accuse their staff of stealing it. Which I found completely unprofessional.

Skip to a few weeks later, it has now been a month since the first delivery and still no dresser or word on what the hell is going on with it or if they even have one in stock anywhere. And they said they had it in the store! But they never called to tell me. It left me wondering, if i hadn't called would they have just sold it to someone else!?

So it was delivered that day, AND ITS DAMAGED IN MORE THEN ONE PLACE AND PARTS WERE MISSING TOO!

NOT TO MENTION THE $1000 COUCH I RECEIVED LAST MONTH IS ALREADY WORN AND FALLING APART ALREADY.

Worst service, damaged and low quality products and a waste of money. You're better off buying second hand.

Can’t say enough about my experience. Nick was my salesman, so helpful and patient while we decided on our couch set. He took the time to answer all my questions, share his experiences and make sure we made a choice we are happy with. I will recommend him to anyone looking for new furniture, we will absolutely see him in the future.

For the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by staff! I was able to purchase and have my furniture at my house the very same day. Even though there was a little mistake, Jerry the manager was more than accommodating and kind with rectifying the issue. I will for sure be purchasing more pieces in the future!

I went here with my sister so she could purchase a mattress. We were greeted happily by employees as soon as we walked in and could see other employees busy at work helping other patrons. Karmon was assisting us, and I said right away that we were here simply for a mattress and nothing more, and joked that he couldn't upsell anything to me. He was super helpful, giving us information about certain mattresses that met our specified needs, and backed off to help others when we needed to discuss and explore the products. I'd give 10 stars if I could simply for the fact that the salesmen weren't pushy at all!

During the course of our visit, their system crashed, storewide and unfortunately they couldn't process any payments or set up any deliveries at this time and I understand there was some frustration on the end of other customers, understandably so. While we were waiting, hoping the system would come back while we were still there, I watched as Jerry made phonecalls to deliver the bad news to people waiting on orders that they unfortunately couldn't fulfill today. He was professional, polite, and was doing the best he could to meet everyone's needs. Wes was there too, in the background, picking up where the others left off and seemed to fill in exactly where needed, helping customers, looking up products, making phonecalls, etc. I could tell there was some stress on their part to give the absolute best service possible with the hand they were dealt today.

I will definitely come back to this location for any future furniture purchases I make, as we were met with 3 pleasant employees with great senses of humour. Despite the slow process of receiving our order today, at no fault of Karmon, Jerry or Wes, we had a super pleasant transaction and enjoyed the company of these hard workers.

Not to mention, at the end of it all, Karmon sold me on some bamboo pillows too!

Didnt offer a warrant or sleep period and didnt have that many discounted prices as I thought they would, sound a nicer mattress for cheaper at sleep country with a 10 year warranty and a 100 day sleep trial

They had exactly what I was looking for, didn't leave me wandering around in the store without asking if I needed help, were attentive but not overbearing, super friendly and helpful. The quality of the furniture is equal to all of the big name brand stores, and when I had a problem with one cushion on the sectional I purchased, they looked after it right away. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the selection is fantastic, and they are super helpful.

Stars have a chance to go up if they honour they're 10 year warranty! Have not heard good things about they're warranty process. Furniture is not old and is in rough shape definitely poor quality. Dan sold it to me and said its an easy return process we will see

I recently ordered a king size bed, box spring and mattress from Surplus Furniture in their Kitchener location. The salesman was so helpful and advised me on the best mattress choice and assured me although the bed was a great price, it was also great quality. We picked the furniture up the next day and headed 3 hours north to our property to set everything up. After struggling to put the footboard and headboard together, we realized the headboard was the king size and the footboard was a queen size. I called the store and advised them the wrong box was loaded in our truck by one of their associates by accident and immediately the manager asked for our address and advised me he was sending an associate with the proper size footboard on the way to our property. I was astonished by the level of service and still cannot believe they went so far out of their way to accommodate us. Highly, highly recommend this store to anyone.their customer service exceeds any customer service I've ever received. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Surplus Furniture Kitchener location to anyone! Thank you for being such incredible people.

Great prices on furniture, employees are very friendly and made sure I walked out with a smile on my face. Got my bed dresser and t.v stand delivered literally after I purchased them and walked out the door. Waited literally 10 minutes for the driver to arrive. Great service would definently reccomend.

Great prices and beautiful furniture, they had exactly what we were looking for - we got the cutest little table set that will look great in our small kitchen, we will shop here again for sure. Only problem - the company they sourced for our delivery, they took our money without providing the service, they had absolutely no problem solving skills and gave not even so much as an apology, just took the money and got out of there as fast as they could. I am waiting to hear back from Surplus regarding this company's name so that I can take it up with them directly (then I can give Surplus the 5-star rating they deserve). My advice: arrange your own truck and save yourself the 70$ (a u-Haul is cheaper).

As soon as you walk into this wonderful furniture place it feels like a big happy family. Your greeting with big smiles but not attacked with sale questions. They let you Roam around and look first then come and ask if you need help. They are very knowledgeable and super sweet to deal with. We just purchased a bed and sectional and couldn’t be happier. Incredible customer service, and the lowest furniture prices around town. I just bought a huge sectional for under a grand, Canadian made, comfy, beautiful colour! Not my first time shopping there, it’s always the first place I go for all my furniture needs!

Mat helped Spectrum get new couches for their center. Each person who has come by has loved the new set. Easy to work with and pick up was done flawlessly. Good person to go talk to with knowledge.

I've been here twice, once for a reclining couch, and more recently for a mattress. Both times the service was great. The mattress came up more expensive, and when we said something, they promptly updated the price. I believe it was the first day of a sale, and the price hadn't been updated on the system yet, but they immediately rectified the situation, which is why this company has earned a 5 star review, and why I would recommend this company.

Today was my second visit to the store, both times I had great expirinces and left with furniture. The staff (Brennan and Matt) were outstanding, super helpful and very nice they had a lot of knowledge on their inventory. I love my furniture and I would totally recommend shopping here!
