Get your mattress from anywhere else. I swear I received a different mattress from the one I tried in store. This mattress isn’t soft at all. Mattress was warped being slammed thru my doorway and is continually making my back more sore because of so.and if you removed the mattress from packaging (like most would) and notice the issue the next day, you won’t be refunded or credited. Go to the brick or literally any other store. Horrible, horrible experience. $600 down the drain. Thank you very much.

Fantastic experience with this store, it’s employees, and delivery folks! They knew all the options that could work for what I wanted and helped when my original selection didn’t fit through the awkward entry way. Fantastic service, very friendly, fair prices. Definitely will be going back for more furniture in the future.

I bought my Ashley couch here, It was last years model type deal. They gave me a great deal on a floor model, the trade off being there’s no warranty.

The back wear-house associates were very helpful in answering all my questions when they were loading me up. They helped me fit everything in just right and even offered to tie it down. I tried to tip them but they wouldn’t take it because of company policy or something. I really wish I could have tipped them of all their hard work, those couch parts looked heavy!

Great experience, Richard L and Jack S, really went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted. I've had my furniture for 2 weeks very happy with it. They said it was easy to clean up messes from my kids. They were right, the microfiber Ashley sectional has been great. I will return to buy more furniture from Rich and Jack again in a few months. Really went above and beyond.

Was greeted by friendly staff, quick to answer all my questions. I wanted to substitute one piece for another, no problem. When I arrived home, realized the 2 bigger pieces wouldn't fit, called them back, they switched my order back with full credit. Next day delivery with all pieces in tact. (Unlike the brick that took a month and pieces were cracked snd split)

Mll I went to the store and explained what I was looking for and the salesperson was very polite and took the time to show me the options I had so l purchased a mattress set that would meet my needs and I was promised same day delivery and very pleased.

The worst. You order something and gets a different item. If you asks for the right item they will say "you have to wait another 3 months but not sure". If you can pls avoid the hassle.

They were extremely helpful over the phone to place my short notice and large furniture order and their website shows all their furniture accurately. Absolutely great deals for the same quality furniture as other stores. I got a mattress here a year ago and it’s amazing, and I got a complete home of furniture from here yesterday and it’s amazing quality, pre assembled or easy to assemble, and came packed in a way that was easy to move and well protected. All my furniture looks beautiful and modern and just as great as expensive name brands. Highly recommend this place if you want beautiful furniture without the department store price.been my go to for years now! Their good customer service took away a lot of my stress with moving. If you’re buying multiple things they will give deals or throw in extras which is always nice.

Horrible experience with this place. I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered two nightstands and a 3 piece coffee table set. Upon purchase, I was told that the items would arrive within a week and a half. A week and a half passed and I did not receive a phone call as promised, so I called only to be told that the items would arrive in another week and that I would receive a phone call when they arrived. A week later, no phone call so I called again. Only the nightstands arrived, and when I asked when the coffee tables would be in I was told "soon. " I was not pleased with such a vague and dismissive response so I asked what "soon" meant, and I was told that they did not even have an approximate date of arrival so I was lied to once again. Over a month later, I still don't have coffee tables so I cancelled my order. In addition to the frustration with the delivery and costumer service, my nightstands arrived with some damage and the hardware provided to attach the handles to the nightstand were of the worst quality I had ever seen and could not be used.

I'm surprised that this place has such high reviews. I knew going in that since this is a discount furniture store, that I shouldn't have high expectations - so I didn't. But, I was really disappointed with the service here! It should have been a massive red flag that all the customers in the store were wearing masks, and the sales associate on the sales floor was not (even though there are signs on the door saying mandatory masks)! I came in with my immune compromised Dad and I was a bit freaked out by how close the guy was to us on the sales floor, spraying his droplets everywhere. I don't know how this is legal.

I ended up making a purchase since I'm on a budget and this is the cheapest place in town. When I went to pay, a different sales associate rung me through (masked, thank God, and he was behind plexiglass) and he asked for my postal code. I asked him just to wait one second while I looked it up on my phone since I had just moved and couldn't remember it. He took that time to leave the till area and go help other customers for several minutes, which I thought was really rude, especially since it only took me 10 seconds to find my postal code.

They told me their truck would arrive on Friday and I could easily have my order delivered on the weekend. Perfect. Well, Friday comes and goes and I don't hear anything from them. I called on Saturday and they seemed to forget that I requested a delivery. They said, "Oh, our truck is arriving on Sunday. " So I waited and didn't hear anything on Sunday. Or Monday. Monday afternoon I called and asked if this is standard procedure (I was under the impression that they would be calling me.not me calling them). They told me they could have it delivered that evening, between 5pm and 8pm. They said that the delivery company would call 10 minutes before they arrive. I had asked 3 times in the conversation if the delivery guys would be wearing masks and I was assured that yes they would.

Well, the delivery guys come at 4pm, not 5-8pm, and I had just gotten out of the shower. No phone call. And no masks. Why am I not surprised? ! They were also yelling and making tons of noise, which was awkward because the upstairs tenants work nights and sleep during the day. I wore a mask while they were bringing my stuff in, hoping that maybe they forgot and this would remind them - but nope. This is such typical Thunder Bay mentality. I'm sure the shop won't take responsibility for this because it's an "outside delivery company".

Super friendly service once I entered and the employees were very helpful informing me on what was best for my lower back condition. Extremely thankful for the same day delivery and amazing prices. I've never slept so well in years!

Jennifer and the whole gang at Surplus have made my move so much easier! When my new sofa did not fit, they were able to switch it out for a loveseat and have it delivered back the same day, with a smile and a apology! Best prices in town, and best customer service too! I'll always shop there if I can. Thanks guys!

Yesterday I went into furniture surplus; went in looking for a dresser, the girl who greeted us was very polite and tried to work with me, she then had the assistant manager Justin come give us a hand, while she went off and finished the paper work she was doing upon my arrival. Justin did not try to sell me anything; just sat back let me browse and holding a friendly conversation. When Justin seen me struggling with a decision due to needing a lot of drawers and deep ones at that, he then showed me the one I bought; 8 drawers fairly deep and it holds all my cloths I’m very satisfied, I walked out with a dresser and a chest for my step daughter. Thanks Justin and the wee lass working yesterday.

I must say the staff is friendly as you often find in sales, and the pricing was good, quite a few addons in terms of protectant and warranties which add up quick, approach felt more like a car dealership, than furniture store. We were offered delivery and told numerous times, even said on the bill of sale $80 delivery. The day of delivery the assistant mgr called and said it was 100, and he talked them down from 120. We explained we were quoted $80 at least 5 times. He said the sales associate made a mistake and he apologized but wouldn't honor the original price even though it was a mistake at their end. Our next purchase will be 2 armchairs but not from this store.

Nice employees, but they were entirely unable to help me purchase a table, mainly due to poor management and lack of supplies. I can provide a full, verifiable report of my experience.

In brief, I spent a lot of time and money and I couldn't purchase table from here because the manager keeps throwing away the charging cables for the devices necessary to run the transaction. After much frustration, I got upset and disassembled one of their display shelves.

Would do so again if I thought it would get me a table. But I'm not sure they're capable of getting me a table even if I offered to pay for it.

Update: still no table or reimbursement for the money and time spent. I received a brief email asking for details on the event. I provided one have had no response since.
