The sushi us fantastic. Professionally prepared, great sauces, tasty on the sushi varieties. Fresh fish and ingredients. Good service. Reasonably priced, not enough staff.
There is not alot of table space so call before you go if you want to dine in.

Went out for dinner with my daughter last night to this sushi place. We were both very happy with this find. The owners were very accommodating as we needed to stay gluten free. They changed some of the rolls to accommodate. Service was so refreshing. We will definitely go back.

Picked up food tonight for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Amazing customer service and food was top notch! Will return again! Yam roll was the best. Pay cash you save 10%

Was greeted by a very kind and lovely woman at the counter. My pickup order was ready for me promptly at the time I said I would arrive. The portions are massive and very well presented. Sushi is very good! I will be back!

From the service to the food, everything was fantastic! Best sushi I have had in Barrie! Very impressive vegan menu, try the platters, you’ll get a great assortment of Maki rolls. Can’t wait for the next sushi night! Thank you!

This is the best sushi in Barrie! The lady who runs this is SUPER sweet. The sushi tastes fresh and is so delicious! Highly recommend getting your sushi from here, it’s my new favourite spot!

We ordered a vegan sushi platter and some regular sushi also and the whole family loved it. Starting a new tradition for Christmas Eve! Thanks so much.

It pains me to give a 3/5 rating, as the customer service was superb, but the quality and quantity of the food left much to be desired.
We had high hopes for this sushi place based on all the 5 star reviews, but after having a meal there, I am questioning whether the other reviewers ever had sushi outside of Barrie. Compared to all the other sushi places we've had in the GTA, this place is severely lacking in portion size & value, especially for the sashimi dishes. Each piece of sashimi is half the size of what you'd get elsewhere. The size of the nigiri is no different either. Each piece is smaller than a teaspoon (see photo). Looks like they are charging the same price, or even more than your typical sushi place for less food. $27 for 7pcs assorted sushi, 6pcs assorted sashimi & spicy salmon roll. Based in the amount of sushi that we actually received, this price should be closer to $18-20. They also use a lot of tempura filler in their spicy salmon rolls.
We were given complimentary gyoza while we waited (it seems like a two-person shop, so our order took about 40min), but the gyoza tasted a bit off, like it was fried in old oil. It was a nice gesture, however.
The lady that served us was very kind, though unfortunately it does not make up for the lack of value. We will not be returning.

Forgive me if I get carried away about Sushi and Tree but it’s so hard to find a consistently good eatery in Barrie that doesn’t drop in food quality as time goes on, lose its chef or isn’t too busy with what Catherine wants.
Barrie has been long overdue for an a la cart sushi restaurant that hits the spot like Sushi and Tree. There used to be a great place years ago on Anne Street but Diamond (diaper) Sushi took over the spot.
Sushi and Tree is a two-person show run by the most wonderful couple Sue and Ken. Sue does most of the front of house stuff while Ken puts together the beautiful sushi rolls.
Every appetizer or roll is executed perfectly and you’ll notice how fresh everything tastes. The beef gyoza are the best I’ve ever had and you’ll notice the difference in the meat filling. I love a good wakame salad and theirs is top notch. I’ve tried many of their special maki rolls and there’s a modern twist with the rolls they do. They think about texture and flavour working together which you’ll notice with the commonly ordered dynamite roll. I like that their spicier rolls are actually spicy as well since most places tone it down. Now when I stop in, I ask Sue to surprise me since they are always creating new dishes. My only regret is not yet trying their ramen but I’ll get to that one of these days. They also have a full vegetarian menu that I see vegans rave about on social media.
We always eat at the establishment but it’s mostly a takeout spot and you’ll notice as each regular comes in, how warm the welcoming they are. Every customer shares a story and Sue makes them feel right at home.
They are located in the short lived Bird’s Nest Barrie spot near the Five Points intersection so be sure to check them out. I’d be shocked if anyone doesn’t feel nothing but love for this newer eatery.

The couple who runs this establishment are just delightful. The food was amazing and the presentation was beautiful! I highly recommend!

Outstanding service and food quality. Very clean. Great salads and breathtaking ramen. Sushi was very nice and fresh.

Lunch value for money was excellent, and the food quality was superb. The welcoming, friendly nature of the staff was what really sold me though. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely return!
