The sushi is really good for the price. It can get quite busy but worth the wait. If you pay cash and do takeout, you can get a discount. Great place if you're in the area and looking for good quality sushi without the high price tags associated. Also, very nice staff.

I have been a loyal customer for a considerable period. Once again, I placed a delivery order as usual. Upon my arrival at the restaurant, despite being next in line and indicating that I had made a phone order, I was kept waiting for 20 minutes without being asked for my name for order verification. Instead, attention was given to customers who arrived after me. When I inquired about my order 20 minutes later, I was informed that it had been ready all along and was waiting on the table. It is absurd to wait for 20 minutes for a meal that has been ready for at least half an hour. Moreover, I was confronted with a rude attitude, with a remark like "you didn't tell us your name, " and handed the cold food with a simple "take it. " While I understand that the restaurant may be busy, it is unacceptable to keep a customer who is there to pick up a prepared order waiting and give priority to those who arrive later. In addition to not offering a solution, there was not even an apology. Of course, I left, canceling the order. Furthermore, after expressing my desire to speak to the manager on the phone, they promised to call me back, but there has been no response, which is another absurdity.

Everything seemed to be okay until on the other day, our group came to dine in at this sushi restaurant and 3 of my friends got there first. They tried to ask for a table and menu to prepare before I and other one came in. However, one of the waiter there ignored and put an attitude to my friends. They had to stand and wait until we came to have a table. That's so disgusting for the way that they treated us. Meanwhile other groups could have seats and waited for their friends to come. That's just discrimination. To me, if you want to have a fair meal without any cares about their service, go ahead.

Can't find the way to describe enough how good is this place! First of all staffs are always nice and friendly and made you feel welcome every time! The price is very good compare to the portion. Good quality of sushi and sashimi. If you go there around dinner time then be prepare to wait for a while as they usually busy. We always go on Friday for dinner time and wait for about 15 minutes max it sometime no need to wait at all. It might take them a while to come take your order but food come out sooooo fast! I'm amazed every time how it was so fast!

I wanted to try out this place, given the good review so ordered a takeout. I have to say it’s a great value esp in this economy. The nigiri sushi had huge tails and the rice portion was a bit too much for me. If you’re looking for Japanese-style authentic sushi, this might not be the place; If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place, you should give it a try.

I'm updating my old review. After going here for 3 years and liking it very much. I decided to get take out for my staff. One of them is vegetarian and I asked that all of his items be packed separately. Well I just grabbed it and left. Got to work opened up my order and not only is there the wrong items in some of the order all of his vegetarian items were mixed in with the fish ones. I placed my order in person and stressed that it be separately packed. It was a 25 min drive back to the restaurant. So I just called and was really upset to be honest. I normally wouldn't mind this type of thing. However my co worker couldn't eat any of the $89 worth of sushi we just bought on Saturday Nov 26. I don't know if I'll eat here again

It used to be a 5-stars place for the price. Now the price is still pretty decent but it's getting too salty/saucy with less fish/real sushi taste. It is an amazing fusion restaurant, as a sushi/Brazilian style spot. I would not recommend it to anyone who wants "real sushi", sashimi taste.

Sushi Cali gets a 5 star for the value. I’ve been picking up takeout here for a couple of years and it’s consistently good. I recommend ordering in advance for takeout as it does get really busy. Cuts of fish and size of rolls are very generous, especially for the price. Can’t get the same amount for cheaper anywhere else and if you can let me know lmao

I love this place, hands down the best priced sushi ever! They always have good portions and service is good, but they never have ice cream dessert LOL.

This place has always stand out when frequently heading east of St. Clair toward Dufferin, I've been here in the past before and they have since improved their food quality and portion size. The interior dining is very welcoming and isn't like a basic-ikea put together sushi establishments like the ones I frequent. Staff members are very welcoming and easy to work with. If paying by cash, they have a discount rate which makes it pretty enticing to order more. The place is real affordable and items I've ordered is fresh and delicious, kind of wish I've added something else to my list.

Wouldn't hesitate to come back as this isn't a far walk for me and it was a great afternoon for a brisk cool walk. Food tasted great and will definitely come back.

Ordered from this sushi spot numerous times per month for lunch/dinner. They made my order incorrectly one time and now refuse to make the same order because of one complaint on an order they made a mistake on. Waited to speak to the manager/owner but they hung up on me twice. My family will not be spending any money at this location. Also use the washroom at home as this location is dirty.

I eat sushi at least once a week, and I almost have tried all of the sushi places in the GTA and most of the outside ones as well mostly all You can eat, but I have not come across a good place as Sushi California it is the best sushi I have had yet and I haven't been to any other sushi places or all you can eat sushi because of how good Sushi California is. It has become our weekly spot for me and friends, we don't go to all you can eat anymore because you get better quality and more quantity from sushi California I highly recommend it.

Best sushi in town hands down. I have been coming here for years and still haven't found a better place than this one. Everything tastes so fresh and prices cant be beat. Wait times cant be a bit long but definitely worth the wait. 10/10

One of the better sushi restaurants in the area, food is good regardless if it is dine in or takeout. However, the fish is a bit lacking and at times is not fresh. Service and everything else is standard and for the price is worth it.

Amazing value. Great sushi, sashimi, and nigiri. The donburi was very mediocre, but this is not why I visit here regularly.

Make sure that the fish in your order did not go bad. Got a food poisoning from them a few years ago and today they sold me Tilapia rolls with spoiled fish again. Very questionable food safety at this place.

Don’t let the front of this sushi restaurant fool you. The price, food, and quality will blow you away. I would say this is one of the best “low-budget” restaurants I’ve ever been to. Keep in mind, the business model is low budget, not the food you eat in there. On the contrary, the food is generous in portion sizing and simply delicious. There are options for all kinds of tastes, offering innovative and delicious sushi, fresh sashimi, and appetizing plates.

Please try it out, you won’t regret it.

Nice place for take out, they have different sizes all super yummy and always very fresh.
Easy way to call them and pick it up usually taking from 20 to 25 min to be ready.
Also has the chance to pay in cash and save some $

Im a big fan of sushi an I will try every spot in the city, but this place here? Literally one of the best, the prices of the rolls, the option to deep fry them, you HAVE to at least give them a try

Never coming back again.lost my business I have been coming to this sushi place for over 7 year, I have recommended so many people but for some reason, all of a sudden they want to charge me extra. 75 cents to change from seaweed salad sauce to house green salad Sause.i have done this so many times and this lady keeps telling me she needs too.yes, as a loyal consumer I can say they don't value that. So you just lost a customer that has been ordering even in the pandemic to help support my local sushi restaurant.

Best quality to price I've seen since living in Vancouver. HUGE platter of really good sushi for $45. Can't beat that in Toronto.

Sushi California is a very cheap and high quality sushi restaurant, the employees are very fast and hard working people.

I recommend to have a look at the menu online and select what you want BEFORE ordering. You will get much better service and value. I have been ordering from this place for a while now. One of my faves on St Clair!

This is my to go sushi in the area and have been since I was in high school. I highly recommend.

Bomb place. Consistently order food from them. Everything has been phenomenal, fresh and well made. The prices are fantastic. This is combination with spicy salmon roll made all salmon. They charge a 2$ to change to all salmon. If you are a salmon lover this is the way to go. For under 20$ fantastic.

The lady that answered the phone was so nice. Excellent customer service, quick service -got my big order in 10 minutes- and absolutely delicious!

It's so easy to grab food here! You call, they make it super fast and you pick it up. The food is generously portioned, easily the best value for your money of any restaurant in the area.
The food is good as well. My favourite is their enormous tempora shrimp, but their bento boxes are very delicious as well!
In terms of cleanliness, everything seems clean and everyone wears their mask.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. It's also busy (but not crowded, no customers standing around inside) so the food is fresh.

Good sushi quality, reasonable portions and 5 star customer service (they ALWAYS answer the phone on or before the 3rd ring, amazing!) definitely recommended for anyone who loves Japanese or Korean cuisine! They are really considerate of the Covid-19 health related rules and their store is always clean.

Date night with my wife, we had an amazing experience. The staff was fast, friendly and answered all our questions about rolls we didn't know about. The price was good and the portions are generous. They have semi private Booths too for a more intimate setting.

I been going to this place for years and last night i had a surprise b-day party for my wife with a group of ten people. I find this place getting worse and worse everytime I go there.the floors are sticky, black, the people are unprofessional and what really threw me off were the menus. 2 of the menus that came to the table had hairs inside of them and leftover pieces of food.i did not say anything because we were with a group and I did not want to scare our friends but I really found that very disgusting.they really need to do a serious clean up and change that floor. If the menus are filthy like that i can only imagine how much worse the kitchen and the food handling really behind close doors

Quick service, good food, good price. When I went, it was my first time trying real sushi and it was awesome.

It's good cheap sushi. Stick with the spicy salmon roll, avacado/salmon hand rolls, and salmon nigiri.

My favorite place for sushi. Affordable and great. It's a small restaurant so keep that in mind in case of special occasions

Cheap, tasty, and large portion. Foodwise i wouldn't ask for more. However, tables were sticky and seats and floors weren't cleaned often enough. Servers also made few minor mistakes which were understandable, but still annoying. But all is forgivable if the food is well priced and well portioned. I'll definitely visit again.

I was never a fan of Sushi until I visited this place. They serve some amazing Sushi platters/ combos. There's always a wait time here, no reservations but its worth it for the quality they serve. Must visit restaurant.

Nice place on the smaller side when it comes to sushi places. They have a large selection anything you could think of is on this menu. Bonus they have a large selection of noodles and meat. Gets pretty busy so I would suggest making a reservation.

Tiny place and always packed. However, likely the best sushi place in town. Delicious sushi and sushi pizza, as well as the noodle. Highly recommend! Everything always fresh and tasty. Also great price!

We've been a few times and they consistently give you big portions for low costs. They have semi private booths which are nice and also come with a bell to call the waiters. They serve all drinks, even water, with a straw. Be sure to ask them to skip it if that's not your jam.
