Sushi Eight

The service we received from our waiter in training was immaculate. The food was sub par per say as sometimes you have a required taste. The hot dishes weren't that great in comparison to other Chinese food. Overall a nice experience.

This was my first time visiting Hi Sushi, and I will definitely go back! The service was terrific. The sushi was beautifully presented. My friend and I both ordered #135, the bento box with sushi and sashimi. It was a huge meal that filled our booth table! The sushi and sashimi portions were abundant, and it also came with an assortment of light, crunchy tempura shrimp, and veges. They have a cool robot that brings orders out, and it plays a little tune and smiles. It was a neat touch. After our meal, we asked for coffee. To our surprise and delight, we received nespresso! My friend ordered Cream Brule. It came in a small ramekin, and it was delicious. We spoke with the manager before we left and complimented her on a truly lovey experience! She was so gracious! This is our new favourite sushi restaurant! Next time, we will try all you can eat. They explained that sushi and sashimi is ordered using a tablet, and the buffet has salads, cold items and hot items too, plus 5 types of ice cream! I walked by their hot and cold buffet after lunch, and it was expansive and looked awesome! I'm looking forward to our next visit! Thanks!

Had lunch with a friend here yesterday afternoon and we have both spent our entire day today violently ill. Our lunch was both of our only meals of the day and we haven't dined anywhere else together in the past couple of days so unfortunately this is the only explanation for us both being this sick at the same time. Unfortunately everything we ordered was delicious but definitely not worth coming back and getting sick over again. Despite it being pretty slow at the time we were there, it took absolutely forever for us to get our bill even though we called our waitress multiple times.

I've been here in the past and had a really great experience but unfortunately this will be my last time spending money here.

This location of Hi Sushi is really hit or miss with their food. Some items were quite good, like the things on the Pringles chips, as well as the roll with the cucumber in place of the nori. Other things weren't so great. The buffet table was really low quality and they could honestly do without it and focus on making better sushi instead. Hi Sushi in Brantford is a real downgrade from Hi Sushi in Cambridge. At least the servers were really good!

Update: Went back here to give it another go, and it was much better! Everything I had tasted pretty good, and service was great too!

Really enjoyed it. Sushi was tasty and well presented. Fresh everything. Quick service that was friendly. Got checked up on lots to make sure meal was going well. Robot was a funny little addition that made it unique. Will be back.

I love hi sushi, the staff are so sweet and helpful, I love to get take out and delivery from this place. New favourite sushi in town, best wontons!

Very nice atmosphere, food is great, servers all have smiles to share. Recommend the fruity tea drink very refreshing!

Had a great time with the AYCE yesterday. Food was fresh, delicious and had lots of food options. Service was great. If I had to nitpick, the ice cream scooper were a little hard to use. Other than that, I had an excellent experience overall, will definitely be back!

Always the best sushi. Customer service is great, sushi is always super fresh. The freshest i’ve ever had. They accommodate my gluten allergy everytime.

Our ‘go-to’ for sushi in Brantford. Service is great and employees are really friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and the food quality is very good. They are very kid-friendly as well which is important for me.

We have eaten here a couple times and everything we had was excellent. The buffet has great options, and the sushi and sashimi is so fresh and delicious. Everyone who works here went above and beyond and are so friendly. I recommend eating here and try the spicy clams!

Not only is the bubble tea great.the staff are incredible! They take the time to get to know you and always welcome you with a smile! It's rare to find this quality of customer service these days. Love it there!

If you love sushi, you will love this place! The atmosphere is amazing and staff are lovely to be around.so kind! The sushi is very fresh and comes quickly to your table. Also- they have the best bubble tea I have ever had! 10/10 recommend

Delicious all you can eat sushi with buffet and dessert bar. Tried their strawberry green tea with lychee boba - soooo freaking good! Highly recommend.

Got the All-You-Can-Eat and had a very nice meal! Especially liked the edamame and mushroom tempura sushi roll.

Would I recommend this place no, management lied to me about my order. Was very disappointed and I hate comparing places but Joy sushi is better even though the price is a bit more, You could tell that they make their food with love.

First time eating at this sushi spot. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful! The lunch menu had some really good options too. Normally AYCE sushi lunch spots leave out many of the better rolls. Not here, try the Brantford roll. Mmmmmm! Amazing!

Thus sushi place is our favorite in Brantford. We tried two other spots, but still come back to this one. It's an 'All you can it ' sushi place + they serve a Chinese food buffet (so that you have more food of your choice). The menu is always updated with some new recipes, great variety of meals. Love most of the rolls, skewered chicken, shrimp and vegetable tempura, fried rice, deep fried wontons, ect. They invented a new type if roll recently that I honestly didnt like. It's made of nori, rice, Philadelphia cheese and strawberry. When I deepened it into the soy sauce the flavour was disgusting. But it's just probably me and my taste (just didnt like that combination of salty sauce and sweet fruit). The overall experience is very good. We will continue going there for lunch!

The first time we went it was great. We enjoyed lunch. The service was fast and the food was fresh. Last night we went for dinner. The service was not the greatest and the food lacked. The squid was overcooked and a tiny portion, the sushi has very thin pieces of fish on top. The sashimi was fantastic however and large pieces.

The buffet has a variety of selection. A few cold items such as mussels, seaweed salad, regular salad. Hot items such as mussels, crab legs, miso soup, hot and sour soup and some other popular dishes that you would find. For dessert there is a few items of the menu, ice cream selections, fresh fruit and Jello.

Overall it has a different feel too it with the buffet and sushi aspect. It is not my favourite place we have been for fresh sushi. However the selection of sushi and rolls is good. Give it a try!

They brought out 1 item at a time easily 15min per item wait not large quantities for 3 people.

The Chinese food Buffet (not sushi) looked unrefreshed in sometime we opted to continue to wait for our order instead of supplementing. After 90 minutes we abandoned the remainder of our order. We only ordered once.

Waitress took our drink refills by picking up glasses with her fingers inside the cup and returned the same cups.

2 stars only because what we did get to eat was decent.

They apologized for the wait but still charged full ayce rates.

The food is mediocre in flavour. It is getting blander and blander. The buffet food is just okay as well. This place used to be a go-to for my office but it isn't enjoyable anymore.

Very good, and the way it is organized makes it great for trying the many different dishes they have available. There is also a counter where you can watch your food being prepared.

Sushi 8 is the go-to spot for my husband and I when we are looking to enjoy some all you can eat sushi. Their lunch prices are great, the there is lots of variety on the menu. The dinner is a little bit pricier, but still not bad. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is for the buffet
They advertise a "Chinese Food Buffet" but it is pretty small, and doesn't seem to be replenished often. Still worth the trip in my opinion, we enjoy ourselves everytime we go.

This place is great for lunch! Selection isn't enormous but the buffet has a few nice choices - tofu & mixed veg and hot & sour soup are favourites. In terms of the ayce menu items, the tuna and salmon spicy rolls are particularly well done, and all the rolls have a good ingredient ratio, not overloaded with rice. Comfortable place and good service.

I really like this place the waitress I had was awesome! Unfortunately they forget some of my orders, and I have to wait a bit longer. All in all I enjoyed my experience.

Always a good meal. We have been here at least three times. It is pretty good. I like that there is a buffet as well.

Zero stars for me. My Son found a piece of WIRE straight through is Odon noodles and management would not so much as come out to address it after complaining. Not a word said, no offer to credit or discount from anyone which isn't what we were looking for but decided to make thi a mini campaign after they ignored the situation. Will NEVER BE BACK. Will never frequent the other restaurants these people own. Mentioned it all on facebook and it was shared almost 900 times. How much do you think taking care of one customer costs you compared to the business you most likely lost in the thousands of people that seen my post and photo? Save yourself the possible food poisoning Sushi restaurants can pose AND the additional choking hazard this location offers and avoid this business

I wish I was not obligated to put a star. I just left the restaurant so annoyed. Service was terrible. The buffet had very small amounts out. We asked for chicken wings they were replenishing it and came out with four. We ordered two different sushi orders of five each. We have a 3 year old autistic boy. He became uncomfortable and cried. I asked if they could pack us up some sushi. They said they would charge for it.
I asked him why he would charge more. Because we ate off the buffet that was almost bare.
Their menu had been drastically reduced
He said that if they knew my great grandson did not eat they would not have charged for him. He did not have a sip of water
Good food or compassion are not what is in their restaurant plus the restaurant is extremely dated. I do not recommend at all

Service was amazing! Rolls were excellent! A couple of the kitchen items were overcooked, especially the enoki mushroom beef. Overall great, have been before, will go again.

As someone that doesn’t really like sushi or seafood in general, the food here was stellar! The restaurant itself was super clean with great atmosphere and decor. And the staff was fast and friendly! Would definitely recommend.

First time going there. It's a bit slower (no iPad ordering), but totally worth it! Food was fresh, hot food was hot and the specialty rolls were interesting and delicious! Lots of variety for everyone in our party. Will definitely be back!

My first time dining to this. Place is very cozy.food was okay, i enjoyed most of what I ordered. I had chicken ramen from the AYCE menu and it was not what i excepted, it was 99% bean sprout. Server was very nice and accommodating.

Good food overall. I like the buffet bar in addition to the menu. My only complaint is the amount of fish served per piece of sushi is smaller than I have had at other Sushi places. Sashimi pieces were adequate size however which convinced me that they might not be intentionally skimping to save money. The fact that they had crab legs also didn't make me feel bad for spending 28 bucks a head. Price was reasonable, the waiting staff are locals/ English speaking so no interpretation barriers, and service was pretty fast between dishes. I would go back

If I could give the service here negative stars I would. The wait staff is terrible. Specifically one girl. She has a bad attitude, isnt personable and almost spilled sauce from the beef teriyaki all over me and didnt even say anything.new staff is needed.

Sushi is not bad, no complaints. They also have a small self serve buffet, so you can eat immediately while you wait for your ordered food. They didn't do so well at keeping the buffet full, crab legs in particular which were only refilled every 15 minutes or so. (They lasted about 30 seconds after each refill). Service was decent.

Don’t eat here! Found a piece of METAL wire in my noodles and was told “sorry”, manager wouldn’t come speak to me or compensate for meal.

Friend of mine and I decided to get lunch but paid for dinner price. Food was good but service lacked. No one checked up on us until we asked for tea. They used to have a server that always will check up on you but I guess he's no longer there.

Very good dragon rolls. I tried all 4 kinds. Excellent sashimi. Service was slow, but friendly. Items seemed prepared with care.

The food is great and at a reasonable price. We've visited thisnplace a number of times in the past 2 or 3 years. Recently the timeliness and friendliness of the staff has declined- it took us 15 minutes to get new drinks ordered.

This place has friendly staff and got kingdom hearts playing pretty great. Sushi is ok, sashimi is average. Would come back again.

I don't really know a lot about Sushi so I didn't know what everything was on the menu. I would have really liked it if they had the tablets for ordering food from like other Sushi places so that I can see the pictures of each item and not have to wait for the server to place my next food order. I did like that there was a small buffet section which was also included in the price. The servers were friendly.

I've been going to this sushi restaurant for years with my friends. It's always a pleasant experience and food is excellent. Always will recommend 100%

Not a great experience. Some of the food that was ordered didn't come out even after we inquired about it 5x (to 2 different staff members). The staff didn't offer any explanation for why it was never brought out or even recommend something similar. The just brought the bill to the table and ignored us until we left. I gave it a 2 out of 5 only because the food that did make it to the table wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Food was ok, nothing mind blowing but it rarely is at all you can eat. I ordered ala carte. Service was.bad. I had to wait 10-15 just for a cup of tea and to ask for the ala carte menu, I was never asked which I wanted. The server I got was, at best, neutral (save for the nice female waiter that checked on me when she saw me sitting alone with nothing) and basically ignored me for most of the dinner. When food was brought out it had fish eggs, which I had requested to omit. Soup and salad was forgot and finally brought 10 minutes after I got my food. Probably won't be going back, was kind of annoyed by the end. If the waiter had been friendly at least I think I could have been happy with all the other stuff:/

Good food, price for dinner can be a little pricey (26.99) but I'd definitely recommend for lunch (16.99) all you can eat

When I first had take out from here I was blown away with their sushi, so naturally I thought they surely cant have a good buffet as well! I was wrong. Go here.like now.

Very fresh, tasty, Brantford roll is great, price keeps going up, not enough vegetarian choices in the buffet section.

Unfortunately the quality has taken a nosedive recently. Prices raised but quality lowered is not a good sign. Could barely choke down the first order of sushi got and lost my appetite for more. Hope they get back to their old standard again. Until then, Joy Sushi is a far better alternative.

Slow service even when on a slow night, even when there is only one other table than yours. They have a decent sized staff therefore I think this is quite unacceptable! The food mediocre, you can tell most of the fish and meat isn't fresh but previously frozen. Not to mention that ramen! Regular lettuce, beef that isn't too grade nor fresh. Tho both are the least of my worries from the ramen, as it legit seems like they just pre up a pack of Mr. Noodles and added in some sesame oil and some spices. So it taste Pretty bland. Wouldn't recommend if looking for quality AUTHENTIC JAPANESE cuisine!

Excellent food. Always fresh and a great selection of seafood and other Japanese and Chinese items. The service is fast although they were not as professional or attentive as in previous visits. Very young wait staff and inexperienced. Not an inexpensive meal but worth the price for the quality of the food and the size of the menu.

Steady supply of food brought to the table. Fresh and tasty. If you like sushi, its a great place to go. Nice buffet as well. A+
