The best sushi place in town BY FAR! Ended up visiting twice in the last 3 days. Amazing food, lots of choices, superb service! These guys got my super picky husband and even more pickier younger son so happy that all 3 men in my family agreed that this is our regular place from now on. The owner brought us items that are not on the menu just yet asking for our opinion. Recommend every single item on the menu and be sure to leave some room for the Summer Roll at the end. Just trust me in this one. I wish these guys many happy years in this business as they really beat their competitors in York Region
I think they’re a bit understaffed because it took them almost 30 minutes to clean an empty table for us. Food was great though, the fish tasted really fresh. Torched salmon and Unagi sushi were out of this world
Excellent value. Fish always fresh, and maki done traditional way with seaweed outside (hosomaki) and just a bit of rice. Fish is always fresh is #1:) Also really good service, respectable and genuine.
Me and my fiancé visited Sushi Torii today, we quite often order their sushi on UberEats and the sushi is always amazing, however, we never got to try the majority of other things that they had. We decided to eat in the restaurant, they had all you can eat and I cannot describe how amazing everything tasted. The sushi (Yonge roll and Wellington roll were superb, so was the lady pink roll). Their vegetable fried rice was fantastic as well. Next time we will be back to try more sushi options.
I had never dined in and always order to go or take out. Whenever I ordered, the order taker always told me that the order would be ready within 20 minutes and it was always on time and never made me wait when I got there to pick up my favorite order, Torii Tray (as shown on the picture). For the quality of sushi and sashimi you should try it for yourself. For me, I did not have any problems at all.
My favourite place for sushi in Aurora. Very good quality and great prices. I love the portions because they’re big. Fast friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
This was our go to place for all you can eat sushi. They just recently reopened for dine in, so we went. Food was ok. Service was very fast. They have reduced their dessert menu substantially. Kids were disappointed there were no more jello, and I was disappointed no more mango yogurt and mango pudding.
We opted for the AYCE. We had a bit of everything. The food was okay overall. Some things were better than others. But most were really good. The price was comparable to other AYCE sushi places. The service was AMAZING! There was a party of 9 and a half dozen other tables and only 1 server. He was attentive and frequently stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. He did the same for every other table. I don't know how he did it, but it made for a great experience.
Always a very positive experience and my very favourite sushi place. Service is fast, food is fresh. The owner knows my favourite sushi mix tray (Kyoto) lol. Highly highly recommended for both takeout and eat in. Thank you for the great service and food you bring to our community around Haida and Wellington west in Aurora.
First time trying this place - ordered the 56 piece Maki tray from UberEats. It was pretty good. All the pieces were pretty light and the variety was good. Can't say it was the most fresh sushi I've had, some fish pieces were a little discoloured but still tasted fine. Also got the miso soup it - good sized portion but could use a little salt. All-in-all a good value for the amount of sushi you get
Ive been coming here since the day it opened, I know all the staff and it’s just an amazing place…. Great bang for your buck, I love it here and I always tell my friends about it and they love it…
Great dinner tonight! 2 bento boxes, one teriaki steak and one teriaki salmon. Generous potions. Very tasty. Also got steamed shrimp dumplings. Everything very good. Thank you!
Our family loves sushi. So when we moved into the area this was, luckily, a first place we tried. The young man who takes orders is great. He is professional, helpful and always nice to my kids. To be honest, he has excellent customer service skills. The food is always fresh and delicious. The portions are good size. The food tastes and looks great. The only drawback is that this place is popular. But food definitely is worth the wait.
Just ordered from Sushi Torii via UberEats and was VERY IMPRESSED with the quality! (Not that I was expecting it to be bad, but the sushi actually exceeded my expectations).
I ordered the spicy tuna rolls, salmon lover set and a miso soup:
The miso soup came in a large container as opposed to the small ones that I’m used to and was still hot when it arrived. The spicy tuna rolls were fresh, fat, and well made, and the salmon in the salmon lovers set was spectacular - Thick slices of sashimi, fat salmon maki rolls, and thick long slices of nigiri
They also gave me lots of soy sauce (in little plastic containers, not the annoying packets) and extra ginger, as I had requested
5/5 starts - Awesome job guys! Thank you. Can’t wait to order from you again
My favorite Sushi takeout place. Just delicious! Most of my friends got in to sushi, when they tried Torii Sushi. And, if you want to try a perfect collection of Sushi, ask them to make one Amir's Plate for you!:)
Good customer service but kind of slow. The sushi was really good, but the beef fried rice was disappointing. It tasted kinda weird, like as if the oil was old or something. I would recommend here for sushi! (Order online or by phone, or the service would be super slow)
Unfortunately not the best in Aurora as described. It’s mediocre at best, average food. And the restaurant needs a serious cleaning and updating. I’m not sure the reviews are trustworthy as well…… The food wasn’t bad, but definitely not as described. First and last time going here.
Just wow! I ordered for the first time here via Uber Eats. I got the Salmon Lover (16 pieces) and yam roll. The quality of the sashimi, sushi, and maki rolls were top notch. They don't cheap out on the fish. The salmon sashimi was nice and thick and the yam rolls was nicely packed.
Chirashi was good and presented nicely. The container is unfortunately not the easiest to hold and eat, but the selection was great: being, tuna, butterfish, tamago, even a few pieces of oshinko (not part of the fish count, but a nice touch). Pieces are very thick, which is not normally my preference, but it all tasted very good.
No dine in when I went. There was an odd smell when I walked in the door, but it may have been from cleaning product. The staff were friendly and I would definitely try this place again.
I eat a LOT of sushi and this is one of my absolute favourite sushi places. I was ordering quite a bit from here during the pandemic and found the prices to be very fair. The food is absolutely delicious and has many different maki roll options.
Amazing quality for great prices! The fish are fresh and the sashimi are large cuts. Their signature Torii roll is incredible. A definite must try. They have the option to create your own platter, and that's what we did! For $50 you can choose 50 pieces of your choice.
Great sushi (especially the California roll, which is simple but surprising how many places don't do it right), delicious gyoza, crispy tempura, katsu, and even General Tso Chicken! The Bento Boxes are a great deal. So is the 10% discount when paying cash on orders over $35 and their prices are already better than a lot of other places. The salad dressing on the green salad is crazy addictive. We have only done take out but it is always hot, fresh and fast. Great location for those of us living in the west end of Aurora. We tried another place in Aurora, and the sushi had almost no rice.we thought it was an Aurora thing, but Sushi Torii does it just right.
Fantastic take out meal today! We customized the 50 pce platter and it was insanely good. Super fresh and ready quickly! Cannot wait to order from them again.
So disappointed. I ordered from here because of all of the reviews, and I'm worried about everyone that left a good one. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki and what I got was cold shrimp on a brown sugar water. As if they just mixed chicken broth and sugar. I waited so long for this and the only edible part of the WHOLE MEAL is the rice. $24 for rice. I am so disgusted by this and honestly feel ripped off. Won't be doing this every again.
I've gotten sushi from here a couple times now. Very tasty, order was ready quickly in 15 minutes both times, and great prices on their combos! Will be returning and would recommend to others.
Love love love the food here! Delicious sushi and appetizers for a decent price! Especially enjoy their shrimp tempura, california, and spicy salmon maki roll combo. The company delivers through Uber eats as well making ordering very convenient.
We have ordered green dragon rolls and short ribs from this place for couple of times now and we have not been disappointed. And will continue ordering. Sometimes, it takes them a while to get the order ready as they get super busy.
I have been on the hunt to find a good sushi place in Aurora for over a year now, and so far this is one of the better ones! The quality is consistent for both their AYCE options, as well as their takeout orders. The prices are very reasonable (something that I cannot say for most of the other places I have tried), and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. This place is truly the best bang for the buck!
This place rocks. There is one man who does a lot of the serving and taking take out orders who is so friendly! Their sushi is great. They used to have great all you can eat. Now during the pandemic, they offer great options for takeout with a safe pick up system.
My favourite walk-in sushi place in the GTA, easily. Being a five minute walk away from my house is a plus to say the least. I've ordered here dozens of times at least.
Excellent quality of food when you order à la carte, and the AYCE is also very solid (when it's being served outside the pandemic). The staff is very capable and nice, with Eric in particular being one of the better waiters I've ever met. The service is consistently fast as well, unless they're swamped.
The menu is rather expansive for a casual restaurant. Their willingness to make certain things to order, such as squid hand rolls, is also very much appreciated.
The decor is calming and mellow, and it's a great place to unwind while you eat or wait for your things. You can steal the internet from Tim Hortons while you're there.
Really the only real strike against the place is that it's moderately pricey like most almost-but-not-quite expensive restaurants; expect a filling meal for 3 people to go for $100-$150. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't worth it though.
I've had them forget a small part of my order a couple times, but I was reimbursed the next time I went. There have also been a few times when my order had a rather lopsided rice-fish ratio for one thing or another, but that's the exception and not the norm, and the portions are usually rather generous.
9/10, definitely recommend. When the economy reopens I'd suggest you go out of your way to visit even if you're not from the immediate area.
