Sushi-Ya Japan

Make sure to get a reservation as the restaurant space inside is small, and it's popular! And rightly so, the sushi was fresh and best fish I've had in a while. Usually I find teriyaki and tempura better quality than rolls and sushi at places I've been to, but I genuinely regret not getting more sushi when ordering! Got the dinner meal. For sure the sushi was the star of the show.

Average taste and freshness for the fish but best in the area I’d say. A bit over priced though especially for lunch probably due to lack of competition in the market.

After moving away and not being back for two years.can I just say, another 5stars!

Visited after a long hiatus - everything was fine, not great, just fine. Still best sushi in Milton but for some reason the last couple of visits something is missing. Hopefully they are one offs as I’ve been coming here since 2014 and have always enjoyed it.

Great little restaurant! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and tasty. I loved the avocado and cucumber rolls and the beef udon soup was good too

Sushi is nice and fresh, fried breaded pork is huge in portion, 2 cutlets for 1 should be more than enough for most. Regrettably I forgot to take a photo on the sushi pizza, which is the highlight of our dinner, the sauce balanced the fish, vegetables and the rice in an amazing way.

Really nice little place to have sushi. The sushi was fresh and nicely served. Definitely a place for sushi lovers.

I have lived in Milton for well over a decade and have missed out on this Gem. I visited Sushi-Ya for the first time recently and the Sushi is fantastic. I will be visiting again very soon!

I really wish they are located in Toronto so I can eat here all the time! This restaurant is my go-to sushi restaurant whenever I’m near Milton area.

They got the best, fresh and amazing fish selections! They don’t use cheap fish like elsewhere I’m experiencing in Toronto. Their rolls are so flavourful and savoury just the way I like it.

I was really impressed on my first visit and they kept maintaining my expectations and more! (And I’m really picky!)

I loved everything I ordered so far and I wish I live close to this place. Staffs are caring and friendly.

Honestly, you can’t appreciate other sushi restaurants once you visit here!

I recently took my wife for a birthday celebration with out friends and everyone agreed it’s the best sushi they’ve had. Extremely fresh food and great, helpful staff.

Pretty good! Nice service! Apparently there is a small change to the serving of the sashimi maki, sushi combo. It used to be served on a wooden ship but that apparently is very traditional. Therefore if you want it you have to ask for it. Its worth it, and makes the appearance more entertaining!

Our favourite sushi spot in Milton - it’s super cozy and the food is amazing! We don’t eat sushi anywhere else if we can help it!

Absolutely disgusting, I ordered beef teriyaki
Came with 5 pcs of raw beef, miserable looking 2 pot stickers, inedible scoop of rice and 4 pcs of romaine. All for $24, what a rip off, don't support this cheating restaurant.
A total disgrace to Japanese food.

Just had dinner at Sushi-Ya Japan, and the food and service was more than excellent!

We had salmon and butter fish sashimi with veggie tempura to start.

The sashimi was soooo fresh and the tempura was piping hot and crisp, delicious!

I had the dragon green roll and hubby had the beef upon stir-fry.
We were so lucky we scored a table this is THE best place for sushi in Milton. Quality is top notch the servers are delightful and personable.

Best sushi in Milton - not the cheapest but the best. Really cute restaurant, small but it's genuinely a nice place - very cozy & quaint. The couple that I always see working there are so kind. Service can be slow but don't let that be a deterrent. We've been coming to eat here for 10 yrs - it's a real gem in our town.

Without question, Miltons best Sushi. And not that there just is not a lot of Sushi choice in milton, but its great sushi regardless and I've been around the sushi block to know its excellent.

Great service. Patio was well lit. Excellent customer service, pretty quick and fresh food. Will definitely go there again. They were taking all safety protocal during covid times. The server was really nice and attentive. We did not have to wait for anything.

The rolls are alot smaller, priced increased and they don't give u any salad or miso soup with your order.

I had an amazing at this place. We loved the superb ambience and the meals. The waiters were super welcoming. I’m glad we ultimately decided to visit this place.

I have been going there for a while now but this the 2nd time I had a pick up order and I was advised that wait time was an hour. About 45 minutes after I was asked to pay while I thought my order was ready. I have waited another 10 minutes and asked about the status of my order, it is now 55 minutes passed, I was told it was being packed. Another 10 more minutes went by and after 65 minutes later, I inquired about the status of my order and I was told it would take another 10-15 minutes. That was well over an hour and by that time I could not rely on the waitress who took my order, remember about 20-25 minutes before I wad told my food was being packed. I would advise the ppl serving at the restaurant to be truthful and upfront with your customer. I will avoid this Sushi place at any cost.

Our family has been ordering her for a while now. It's the only good place to get Japanese food in milton. They are consistent in terms of quality but are a bit pricey. I recommend if you're in the Milton area and don't mind spending a little extra.saves you from having to drive to Oakville or Mississauga.

Nice cosy place, located in Milton downtown, lots of free 2 hours parking on the streets, probably I was just lucky to get the parking spot by the restaurant, small and very clean restaurant to visit with family and friends, staff is very friendly experienced and polite, menu is good with great a la carte choices. Comparing to many others Japanese restaurants and sushi’s the taste was amazing and all the ingredients were super fresh. Despite of late evening hours and already deserted streets restaurant was more then half full, seems like popular among locals. Definitely recommended for anyone to stop by and have a lunch or dinner here. Will be back again.

Had a very good experience in here with my daughter. The food was served quick and the customer service is just awesome. Prices are affordable.

I must say, the food here is amazing. The fishes are always fresh and the food is made and ready for you to eat within a short time. I strongly recommend the ”butter on fire” roll and “green ocean” roll. It’s new to the menu but it is absolutely the best. I’m not the biggest fan in trying new things but the new “banabo” roll is also very good. It is a combination of banana and avocado; unique in flavour but surprisingly very tasty! Will definitely come again!

Food is generally good but portion is super small. I tried it a few times andfelt it was just ok so I decided to go elsewhere once there became other options in town.

The food is consistently fresh and delightful, staff members provides awesome customer service. I love how neat it is and atmosphere. Will visit here again.

Small sushi shop in a former tea house by the pond. Family owned I believe. They have a fairly typical selection of maki and sashimi, with hot dishes like tariyaki, udon, and katsu. Ingredients are really fresh and of a high quality. They only have the one waitress, so service can be a bit slow when they're busy. Not the best place if you're in a hurry, buy definitely my go to if I want good sushi in Milton. Food is delicious, staff are always pleasant, and it's got a cozy atmosphere. Now if they added onigiri or soba to the menu, I'd be perfect for lunch.

This place has amazing sushi. It is not all you can eat but that alone makes it so much better because you know the quality of fish is much higher. I don't live very close but I will definitely make my way back just for their amazing spicy tuna! Can't wait!

"Hole in the wall" place but Fresh a la carte sushi. Quiet traditional Sushi experience. A lil pricey but worth it for quality!
