Ordered take out at Sushiya zen.

The Caterpillar roll was great, highly recommend. The Spicy mayo made the roll! Plenty of avocado as well

The Spicy Salmon was not as good as other restaurants. A bit too much rice for me. I didn't like how they chopped the salmon and the Tempura together either.

Sushiya zen.has the best selection, service and value in the area. Kingston has mannnnny sushi places. This is easily one of my top 3.

Dining out has been non existent and we have seldom used take-out. What a joy it was to discover Sushiya Zen. We have nothing but praise for every aspect of our experience. The meal was delicious, a feast for the eyes, well priced and exactly as ordered. We tried miso soup, green seaweed salad, 30 piece platter and a Spider.

Food is good， just their delivery really weired. It says they close at 7.45， but when I try to order it on uber eat at 7.10， it closed.

We ordered the small roll party which was an assortment of different rolls as well as a few extra rolls on the side.
Overall.
Spicy Salmon was not very good. The tempura and salmon inside the roll tasted like mush and it wasn't spicy at all.
Spicy avocado with tempura roll also tasted like mush.
Shrimp tempura had way too much batter and was not crispy.
Unagi roll was interesting with green onion inside.
The caterpillar roll was delicious- good rice to sushi ratio and overall tasty.
Dynamite roll was average.

Would I go back - no.

Excellent Sushi at affordable prices. We had the Rainbow Roll and the Spicy Salmon roll. Very tasty and highly recommended. The service was fast, personable and friendly. Will definitely go back once in-person dining returns. Two thumbs up!

Definitely the best sushi there is in Kingston. This place is my go-to after a hard night of studying or when I receive Uber Eats giftcards from conferences.

Definitely one of the best places I've had sushi. To the point where when I returned to Ottawa I was looking forward to my next visit to Kingston so I could have sushi from here again. Note if you are taking it home and eating it the next day to ask them now to put the sauce on top. Awesome sushi, good service.

My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch here. The restaurant was clean, employees were kind and friendly and helpful. And the food.so yummy and such nice quality ingredients. We shared a dynamite roll, and each had the salmon poke bowl and the seafood udon soup. No problem getting pescatarian fare here It was just delicious and fresh and colourful! Give this sweet restaurant a try!

This charming Japanese restaurant is very clean with an adorable design interior. There are tons of menu options, very friendly service, low prices and delicious fare. We had edamame, miso soup, avocado salad and a Philadelphia roll. Would highly recommend! Friendly service without having to wait too long. Well presented sushi rolls. We also ordered the Sashimi B dinner (15 pieces, five different types) and the sushi pizza appetizer. You could taste the ingredients because they weren’t buried in mayonnaise or tempura flakes. Priced reasonably - not cheap but not expensive either. I’d come again.

The service is fast and the food is pretty good! I usually go for the lunch special or bowls and udon and they taste like home food

The quality of food was wonderful. Lots of options and amazing prices. The staff were friendly and the decor was awesome. Look forward to going again next time.

UPDATE:

Went tonight and it wasn't as good as the last time we went. The food was decent but the portions were a lot smaller. We had the same thing as last time. The California rolls this time weren't very good. The dynamite roll was the best part.

I hope they were just having an off day because I want to go back and try again. It was so yummy last time.

Foods are very fresh and tasty. We ordered the vege udon and a hot stone bow. The quality of service is outstanding.

Delicious food, very nice and friendly staff, reasonable price. Nicely decorated, good music, pleasant place to have your meal.

Lots of options in the menu. Would only suggest to include the traditional salmon roll in the menu (only options were salmon+cucumber roll or the spicy salmon roll).

Also, the sauce for chicken Katsu and pork Katsu were tasting different from the traditional recipe, but it was also good. I like it.:)

I would love to return and try them all! The pierogi poutine was call my name I'll have to save that for next time. So a few days I paid them a visit again and I was pleased to see the same level of food and service is maintained. I ordered a potatoe and cheese pierogies and a meat pierogis minus the bacon. Both were immensely fresh and was full of flavor but I preferred potatoes one over the meat.

My wife and I have been in Kingston for ten years or so and this is our go to spot for great sushi at a very good price. Hits the sweet spot with the quality of ingredients and affordability. Highly recommend dining in or takeout.

Experienced this gem of a place on Tuesday for the first time.and just ate here again tonight (Friday) Great quality sushi, and attentive staff! New favourite!

This was a nice little spot to grab dinner. The staff was friendly and the food tasted amazing. I would definitely go back.

We ordered take out to bring back to our boat. Staff was more than accommodating putting together our take out order. We ordered a custom 55 piece platter - rolls & sushi was fresh, tasty and presentation was excellent. Asked for a crispy spicy shrimp roll - was outstanding. Sunomono was good. Shrimp tempura was wrapped with care so it would stay crispy for the walk back to our boat. We ordered two different types of udon - it was made different from what we are use to - different type of broth, a lot more veggies - it was delicious. Staff made sure we had everything we needed for our floating picnic.  

I had a glass of wine while I waited. Nice selection of wines. Not a huge selection of wines - just good quality wines.  

Just a note: if you like lots of pickled ginger, wasabi and soy sauce make sure you order extra. Our family uses a lot of  condiments and we ran out mid meal.

We will be visiting Sushiya Zen every time we stay in Kington - so many things on the menu we want to try - food served on the tables looked amazing.

Loveable ambiance, great service and great qualité/Price ratio. Ideal for a first date or a night oui with friends.

Beautiful plating and wonderful service. Sushi Ya Zen has created a very calm warm and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of busy downtown. Although there are other "sushi joints" in the downtown district, Sushi Ya Zen has them beat with their spectacular hospitality and delicious food. I had a very pleasant and accommodating experience with them.and I cannot wait to return for some more of their beautiful black dragon rolls. Thank you Sushi Ya Zen! ありがとうございました!

Definitely one of my favourite spots for sushi in Downtown, Kingston! The food is always so fresh and the staff are very friendly. Prices are fair and the restaurant is very clean.

Perfect place for sushi. In the heart of downtown, but not overcrowded. Options for rolls or combo. Food is great!
