I am a huge Trek bike enthusiast and have always got my bikes and servicing done at Trek on Queen West. This year for Christmas though my husband got me a new Marlin 7 Trek mountain bike from this location. Bike is amazing but sizing was off on the initial one I bought. Brent went out of his way to come back again after dropping off my bike to adjust the seat for me again and see if it made a difference. It didn’t! So he brought a medium Marlin for me to test out and see if that size was better and it was! He came to my place and did all this for me on his time! I am so appreciative of the outstanding customer service he gave me today! He returned my bike back for me and will be ordering and delivering a new medium one to me in a week. Brent is the best! Thank you! Thank you! You rock! Highly recommend Sweet Petes!

Needed a new axle hub for a Schwinn bicycle. After an extremely disappointing experience at my local bike shop (Cycle Solutions Beaches), and not the first such experience, I went to Sweet Pete's where I have had great experiences previously. The person at the service desk spent quite a bit of time trying to find the part, which he did, but said could be 2-3 weeks to order. Suggested I try Bike Depot a few doors down to see if they might have on-hand. I did go to Bike Depot and was able to get the part I needed.

That is exceptional customer service.

As I am in the East End, Sweet Pete's is not the most convenient option, but they have definitely earned my on-going business and worth the trip across town as my "go to" for my bike needs.

As a person that rarely writes reviews (perhaps my age group) I felt compelled to share my experience. Presented to shop prepared to drop $4000.00 to be kitted out for an e-bike in my retirement. Went with a very experienced cycling niece who speaks the 'language' and was faced with impatience, disinterest and dismissiveness by the staff. Decided to be fair thus spoke with the manager and he listened, and kitted me out. Went for the 4wk bike check and my request for possible addition of basket to the front was not doable. Accepted this, but did ask if he could show me where the difficulty lied. Was, again dismissed, back turned to me with a roll of the eyes. Spoke with the manager and 'gently' related my 2nd experience where by he deflected my concerns such that I said, no worries.lets move forwards. Is it my gender (female), my age (62) or simply 2 or 3 people having bad days? My generation has $$$. One would think there would be more obsequious behavior;) All I wanted was an explanation, courtesy, respect and friendliness. All of which I ended receiving (funnily enough) in a very small neighborhood bike shop who gave me time and attention. But, please make your own assessment as this is simply my experience.

I lost the key for my bike lock and needed to have the lock taken off.
I managed to get the bike to Sweet Pete's after two bike shops said they were too busy to do something like that.
The fine folks at Sweet Pete's did this task quickly and with smiles on their faces.
I must say that sometimes it might be intimidating to come into a shop where serious cyclists shop and hang out. Not here, everyone was super helpful and kind.

Bad place. Not female friendly and frankly incompetent. Got a kickstand from them, it fell off after 15 minutes and they charged me $92.00. Went back put on a different kickstand and then that one didn't work. Went back for a third time. Manager and staff just talked over me. Manager insisted that I had to leave the bike for a while to really make sure what was going on. Called me 10 minutes later and told me that they can't make it work and to come back and get my bike. I will be telling anyone who will listen these guys are incompetent, talk over you, don't return calls or messages. I mean really it's a kickstand. When I pointed out that it was 'just a kickstand" to the manager he rather childishly said "stop saying that! "

I had a great experience. Mitch did a great job adjusting my old bike after I had an injury. I was able to ride pain free. He also recommended a bike for me when it was time for a new bike. And I got my new bike 6 months early! At no time did I feel any pressure to buy a bike or be up sold on a bike. Amazing customer experience and I got the perfect bike for me.

Bought my mountain bike Liv here and am very happy with it. Exceptional customer service! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They were very patient with me and let me test different models and sizes. They have adjusted the bike I chose to fit me best. Strongly recommend this store. I will be back to purchase bikes here for my kids.

I'll preface this with the fact that this is my first time in a bike shop, having bought mostly cheap bikes from places like Zellers, Walmart, Facebook marketplace, and recently Amazon. Finally decided to get a good bike that (hopefully) doesn't break down often like my old piece of junk Amazon bike did. I'll split this into two parts: the experience in the shop and the bike itself.

The staff at the shop is amazing and very knowledgeable. Going in I did my research and knew I wanted either a Trek FX2 or the FX3. I knew a bit about the differences, but Jae went into great detail to make sure I fully understood which would be best for me. I got to test ride them both and ultimately ended up going with the FX 2. They weren't pushy with upsells either, but I ended up getting a U Lock to better protect my investment, along with some other accessories. All were installed for free and they took the time to show me how to best use the lock which I'm grateful for. Prices were all reasonable to me as well!

As for the bike, my goodness the Trek FX2 rides like a dream. I truly never knew biking could be this fun. I live in Scarborough and biked all the way home from the shop which was just over 31km. Shifting is excellent and the speed is MUCH better than my old piece of junk. Did 10km yesterday in 23 minutes which would take closer to 30 minutes on my old bike. Quality bike at a great price that I hope to still be riding 10 years from now. Whenever I do want to trade in and upgrade, I know I'll come in to Sweet Pete's!

What can I say! Nothing but Awesome! Did a bike fit with Mitchell a few months back. Came in with knee sheering pain and hand numbness. He took his time, asked a lot of questions, and never rushed. Also didn’t try and sell me on a bunch of new gear which I was afraid of before coming in. He made adjustment and I was set. But it didn’t stop there, the follow ups. I was still having a tiny bit of pain and I came back in for another adjustment …no charge. Then more follow ups. Now the negative…none of this made me faster or climb hill faster. I guess that is all up to me…or a lighter bike. Which when that time comes, I will definitely go see Mitchell and the Sweet Pete folks.

The staff at this bike shop is like I’ve never seen before, what a great bunch of knowledgeable peoples and super friendly! I bought multiple parts in the last couple of weeks from them with specific demands and everything was met on point! I wish I’d have a bike shop like that in my province.

I had a bit of an unexpected experience at Pete's for the first time. Normally I'd had solid experiences with friendly and knowledgeable staff, but today was different. I'd arrived around 6PM knowing the shop closed at 7 under the impression I could go buy a bike before they closed. It took about 20 minutes give or take to find a bike that ticked most boxes I had. As I went to pay ($1400~) I was advised my bike wouldn't be available to take home as the shop would not have time to properly tune it before giving it to me. While I am understanding of the scenario, I needed the bike for the next day and advised the man who'd been helping me that sadly I can't buy the bike if I can't bring it home. He asked the folks in the back if they could take the time to set it up and was advised they could not (with 20 mins or so before official closing time). And so I left, no bike.

I understand the bike was not ready to be taken home but a shop like Sweet Pete's has such a great reputation - maybe I set my expectations too high thinking they would take the extra time needed to make sure I was sorted and on my way.

I have to say I am a bit taken aback to be honest, letting a customer walk out the door for something that could have been sold then and there seems pretty silly for an extra maybe 30 minutes post-closing time. Hell, I'd have paid extra for the time if it'd been offered - but it was not.

The staff at Sweet Pete's Bike Shop are extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Great place if you are an avid cyclist, but also very comfortable if you are a novice like me. They treated me great and I highly recommend to anyone trying to get into cycling or looking for an upgrade.

This review is long overdue. We (me, my significant other) have been customers at SP's for over a decade. During this time, staff change (of course), but the SP (thank you Pete) ethos of professionalism, concern for quality, honesty and integrity has never faltered. The core staff, Brent - always a pleasure to talk bikes and life. Shawn - master mechanic who has masterfully built and maintained the components of my (many -uhm, perhaps too many) Kona's. The core group (and many others) have always treated us with respect, kindness and care. If you are looking for a *quality* bike shop, with a knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about ensuring you get the right bike for your needs and will take care of you afterwards - from novice to pro, SP's is strongly recommended.

Great bike shop with tons of stuff. There's a lot of items from Fox Racing which is my favorite brand. From hoodies that glow to helmets. I came for the Fox Racing Dropframe Pro helmet. One thing shopping online can't replicate and that's touching and sizing on clothing and helmets. Staff is proper and polite. Asking if you need assistance just once which is great. Unlike some stores where every single employee asks the same question. Take care out there friends!

This is where it's at. Picked up my bike yesterday after I had ordered it two weeks ago. I was excited like a kid waiting for his Christmas gifts and called up the shop multiple times to ask if they could expedite the delivery (understandably, they declined because the shop was busy). Even so, the staff were patient and helped choose and install all the accessories I bought at the shop before handing it off.

I was looking for a Retul bike fit system, and I sent questions via email to several different stores in the GTA about the fit as I wanted to learn more. I decided to go with Mitch at Sweet Pete since his response were the most thorough. He took the time to assess if a bike fit would be beneficial and not rush to book me which I appreciated, since it is a very expensive service.

My great experience continued on the date of my appointment. Mitch made me feel comfortable covid safety wise since it was November 2021 and the Omicron wave was prominent. I had a lot of questions, most were probably pretty basic borderline common sense, half of them were not related to the bike fit. But he was always thorough and took the time to answer, I find that he was very relatable and patient although he admitted he was pretty tired.

I enjoyed the bike fit itself. I learned a lot about my body's mechanics and although I received two minor adjustments, it feels like a big difference in my riding comfort. I was never upsold, which I heard could happen at other stores.

I was originally told I could come back within 60 days if I felt like I needed any other adjustments but since it was November I thought I wouldn't be able to use the policy. Mitch said I could bring it back any time if needed, although I'm sure it's with the caveat of within reason. It's been 1000km, although I usually top out at 50km for a ride, the fit has been great.

I had a great experience and service before I ever committed to spending any money. A retul bike fit is very expensive, it's value will be different for everyone, for me I wish spent way more money on physiotherapy fixing my back so I wish I did this sooner.

Pete, Mitch, Brent, Rob, and all the other staff I have dealt with set the gold standard for customer service. I like to consider myself a very tough customer to please but every single time, I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to ask a question and how detailed of a response it could get, whether by email, in person, over the phone and so on! I make an effort to come all the way here from Markham and aside from traffic, it is always a pleasure! Happy holidays, team!

Mitch specifically has gone above and beyond for trying to help me get dialed into my bike!

Edit - still 5 stars, made an online order and they worked with me to make it seamless. Always a pleasure dealing with the folks at Sweet Pete’s!

I placed an online order for some Mountain Bike shoes because the Police Service I work for is starting a Bike unit that I am a part of. The shoes I ordered I needed rather quickly, so I added a note to my order stating such. In about 10 mins after I placed the order, I received a phone call from John. He let me know that it was likely that I would receive the shoes in 30 days as the product is shipped from the US and not something in stock. I was a little disappointed and asked John if they had anything similar in stock, He checked and found similar shoes in my size for a similar price, cancelled my order and applied the money to the in stock shoes and shipped them out to me that same day! This store has the most stellar service I have seen. Thanks John for all your help in this, and I can't wait to get my new shoes. Cheers!

I really enjoy coming to this shop because of the staff. I've always had great interactions and I am always given great advice that is direct and not sales driven. I'm always told what services are needed to be completed and I'm made to feel that the choice is always mine without any pressure. Thank you for all that you do!

I had a great first shopping experience at your store yesterday. Such a great selection of items, and the service was outstanding! I spoke to several of your staff about a possible upcoming bike trip, and they all took time to answer my questions, show me appropriate equipment. I live in North York but it was definitely worth the trip.

I used to come in here for all my (admittedly small) bike needs. Have been in twice this summer and something has changed. I don't like being made to feel like I'm annoying the staff. Dealt with the same person both times and came away really frustrated both times. Sorry I'm not a cool knowledgeable bike person! Sorry for having questions. Today was my last time coming in.
