The food was good. Reasonably priced for the quantity. I had the chicken and garlic shrimp with rice. However one of the staff who was at the counter looked at me like she had daggers in her eyes. She even raised her voice with a “do you want your receipt” as if I can’t comprehend simple sentences. Come on just because I’m a foreigner, not nice to assume! So 1 star less for the attitude.

This establishment treats their delivery drivers with utmost disrespect. I picked up an order from this place few days ago and this is what it says on the driver note “ • ALL COURIERS MUST BRING THERMAL BAG
INTO RESTAURANT TO PICK UP YOUR ORDER. HAVE ORDER NUMBER READY. Enter through double doors, and turn left to take out area till. Pack order, and leave restaurant immediately. ”

“Leave restaurant immediately” what kind of language is this? There is a more human and formal way to instruct your drivers. Please be respectful and learn how to communicate with people. Delivery drivers helps your business make money and we deliver your food to ur customers. Show some respect!

I can only post this review to the location making the delivery but it is actually about Corporates website and customer service.

Becareful if you want to use your CAA discount. The system no longer adds the card automactically.very sneaky.so you don't get your discount.

When you call customer service, that's a joke, person keeps reading the scrip saying sorry for the inconvenience at least 3 times, but takes absolutely no action other than saying I'll transfer you to the store.

The person wouldnt add the credit to future orders or provide anything for what I am actually owed. I'm not asking for more just what was promised by way of your advertising.

When did companies start providing no customer service, increase prices add exorbitant additional fees and expect you to keep showing up. Swiss Chalet you better pick up your socks.

The person who pays for your lack of service and bad online order tool is the guy delivering the food.

I ordered at 7: 50pm expecting an hour or better before it arrived. I watched the tracker and went outside after the tracker said the food was on the way as our buzzer code isn’t working. At 9: 13 pm I called to ask whether my meal was coming. I was assured that it was. I asked at that time that if the tracker was correct, the food would be cold by the time it arrived. The person on the phone apologized and thanked me for calling Swiss Chalet. My food arrived at 9: 29pm! One hour and forty-nine minutes after it was ordered. The driver stated that the food had been in his car for about thirty-five minutes but was definitely hot. He stated that they were busy. As I expected, the food was a mess. First of all, I ordered the thanksgiving dinners - and so they came with pies. Those pies were put in a separate bag - TURNED ON THEIR SIDE - and then taped to the top of the hot meals. The driver then put the package as taped up into a thermal bag. The pies ordered were lemon meringue and coconut cream. The coconut cream pie wasn’t recognizable as pie. The lemon was in mildly better shape, but they both looked like they’d rolled off the table before getting to me. The food was all cold. So I called back and asked for my money back. The person on the phone said she could issue me a credit. I said I didn’t want a credit - I have ZERO plans to order from you again if this is your idea of food. She said I had to talk to the store directly - I was forwarded to the store (without checking to see if they’d even answer as they were well closed) and I spoke to someone there. He didn’t identify himself and said that I could call customer service to get a credit. I said I want my money back as I won’t be ordering again. He said he’d have to get the kitchen manager and put me on hold. Nobody ever picked up the phone again. After being on hold a while, I called from my other phone and the customer service person there tried calling the store and got no answer. She said I’d have to call again the next day. Again apologizing and thanking me for calling Swiss Chalet!

They’re not concerned about the quality they put out here - don’t waste your money! You’re minutes in all directions from MUCH BETTER options!

Service was sooo slow, waited probably half hour just for a drink. There was a fair amount of staff and maybe 3 other tables and still waited forever for service. Food order was wrong. Got sick after eating here.

Visited here on Mother's Day (my family and I's second time being here).
Main: We ordered the chicken/ribs special and chicken with fries. I'm not a fan of the sauce that was on the ribs, it was a bit tangy to me. Also, the chicken was nice but a bit dry (the dip it comes with wasn't much help as I didn't like it that much either).
Sides: I LOVE the fries, always so soft and lightly salted. The bread was also good (I spread the butter that comes in the little container on it).
Desserts: I ordered the fudge cake but ended up not liking it as much as I thought I would - mostly because it didn't taste chocolatey enough, but that's on me. My sister had the cheesecake and she said it was good (I'd take her word for it).
Kudos to our server who was quick to seat and serve us - she even gave us each a small bag of chocolates (wish I got a picture of them)!
Tiny backstory: This was the second time my family and I visited this location. We got patio seats the first time and wanted to see if we could get them again but I think we either showed up too late or they didn't set them out that day. It's highly possible that we'll try again this summer.

I would greatly appreciate your delivery guy calling my cell phone and not the front desk telling me my food is here, if that had been the case I would have been able to meet them in the spot he is standing, was your worker walking around the lobby when I was? These are all things that could have been avoided if he just choze to call my cellphone, what good is my phone number to you, if you dont use it. Thanks for letting me wait for nothing. Greatly appreciated

Here's the key to enjoying Swiss Chalet: Go to the restaurant and dine in. NEVER order it delivered, or get it to go. It's bizarre but the difference is astounding. When it's take out or delivered, it's a congealed greasy mess. When you get it served to you on a plate at the restaurant, it's delicious. It's been this way for years and years.

Do not order from this location. Wish we read the recent reviews prior to placing our order. Food never showed despite an estimated delivery time. You are unable to call store location ("mailbox isn't set up"). Corporate customer service line wasn't helpful either. Eventually cancelled our order after waiting almost two hours for food to arrive.

This is literally the worst Swiss Chalet ever. Should’ve trusted the bad reviews. Ordered a full rack of ribs with an apple pie for delivery. The ribs were overcooked, dry and cold to the touch. Threw more than half of it out because it was hard to chew. The bun was rock hard and threw that out. The coleslaw salad had a rancid smell too, in the garbage as well. The only good thing were the mash potatoes, they were actually warm. The apple pie felt like they just pulled it out of the fridge. Don’t ever come here.

The worst restaurant that I ever try. I asked for a 2 special dinners to go for 22$. Supposed to be 2 chicken legs, fries and drinks. When arrive to the beach I realize that the put just one chicken in each plate and very small, no forks and knifes, no napkins. So dicusting eat a cesar salad, and chicken with the hands and nothing to clean the hands. I'll never recommend this restauran.

We got the chicken spring rolls and it was oily and the fries were soggy. The chicken leg was okay. I did like the shrimp on the side. Overall, it wasn't a great experience for me. Never eating again from Swiss Chalet again.: (

Service was good. But sadly the food is really bad. Oily fries, chicken tasted like plastic and the gravy was honestly the worst I've had in my live. We left 75%of the food untouched. We ate the salad and half back ribs. We were really disappointed of this place. I would not recommend it.

My family were there on the weekend. We had just finished Ripleys aquarium, on Saturday afternoon we were looking for a place that was good; we know Swiss Challet is always good.when you walked into the place It didn’t feel like a swish Challet.we had employees sitting near to us.the washroom had a very bad smell, wasn’t to clean, washroom door had dirty fingerprints on it. There was only one waitress at a time serving us and two other tables. The chicken wasn’t cooked properly the fries were cold, hard and burnt, the pop tasted more like Lake Ontario with a hint of syrup and very little soda in place of that I ordered a beer which they pre-poured for me which is not right, in this COVID-19 time. I know for a fact they don’t have tap. The beer is on the Harvey’s side in a fridge, cans and bottles. I give props to the waitress she did try her best to make our visit good. I’m glad I don’t live in Toronto, where I live I know I could always go to Swiss chalet and would have nothing to worry about.

STAY AWAY! I have never experienced such poor service before, this is the end of my relationship with Swiss Chalet. I placed a large order in late May over the phone because the website wasn't working. The lady on the phone said that she also cannot add a tip as their system is malfunctioning. While delivering my order, the driver called me demanding my credit card info over the phone so he can tip himself. 2 days later the manager of this location called me 4 times accusing me of not paying for my food even though the amount was deducted from my credit card and I got a receipt. At the end it turned out i was right and I never even received an apology for how they treated me. They only said they fixed the website in their response. Customer service also did nothing to resolve this issue. This is unacceptable!

***Update as of June 11th 2020*** as you can see, they responded to my review on here and asked me to contact them directly. I did that.still no response. What a joke!

Stay away during dinner hours. This location is not practicing COVID 19 Social distancing. There were more than 10 people inside the pickup area, customers waiting + food delivery drivers. Very dangerous!

Chicken was overcooked, fries were hard or too soggy just a huge letdown. Won't be coming back here. Edit.have been contacted by the store about my experience. Will update after they speak with me. Right now they get a extra star for service akd trying to do the right things

I am regular at the Queens Quay location and today myself and co-workers decided to come to Swiss Chalet to have lunch. Now I usually don't have the best experiences at this location, but today we choice to come because of the chicken and this time it was better. We enjoyed the food it was hot and came out fast and fresh, please tell your kitchen chef or staff amazing job and please keep doing what they did today, it would make your business better by far.
When I come to the restaurant with my family or friends the food always takes to long to come out? But this time the service was amazing maybe it was because it wasn't that busy there was only a few tables, or maybe you actually have someone who knows what they are doing. We were greeted with a smile which is great because when I do come other times I never see servers smile or any employee when coming to this location. Tasha and Randy the manager both did great and everyone was happy with the results. Our server and the manager gave us great service, she gave us what we ordered in less the I would say 10 mins and also the finger bowls are way better then the wipes I may say your other server should do that to. This location always has it downs but if you have people like the ones who were working today who can do the job properly instead us making customers wait so long then I am happy to bring myself and more people to this location more often.

Just wow. I grew up with Swiss Chalet and this place may end that relationship. Terrible food, terrible service. How is that even possible in such a high traffic area? Head office needs to step in here. I don't want this place destroying everything that the swiss chalet name has built. Wow.

Ordered two thanksgiving specials - one meal came without the stuffing, and the mashed potatoes was actually just a baked potato that they had smashed to pieces. No chocolates with either meal, and instead of pumpkin pie, they gave us cheese cake and chocolate cake. No one called to inform us that they were out of mashed potatoes and pie. So I called and the rudest guy ever basically yelled at me that they were out of pie and that I should call back tomorrow when the manager is in. I asked how this helped us now with the food that we intended to eat for dinner - and he hung up on me. I called back and he didn't answer.

TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I would never speak to anyone the way he spoke to me, let alone a paying customer. There are some serious issues going on at this location, and we will definitely not be spending any more money here.

The food we ordered which was chicken was dry and the fries were hard and in short pieces as if it's from the bottom of the batch. The booth where my family sat, salad was scattered under the seat right at the glass pane facing the street and the restaurant staff didn't notice it until we told them about it. Service was so-so.

Yesterday around 9 pm, we entered the restaurant. We were seated and our orders were taken. It took 30 minutes for the server to finally tell us that they ran out of chicken for our order. They wasted our time especially on a Sunday night, where we could have dined elsewhere. There is no attentiveness by the server or bartender as the drinks were also served wrong. If they didn’t want any customers to dine, they should have closed the restaurant early or told them that they don’t have chicken.

Their only solution to fixing the issue was providing left over crispy chicken. They served this at 9: 45, and told us that we only have 10 minutes to eat. We arrived one hour before closing time, and there weren’t many people in the restaurant either. Our only option was to pack the chicken and go home. This was horrible service, a terribly run restaurant, and needs a lot of improvement in their customer service.

Swiss chalet food is good and fair priced as always. This particular location has pretty bad service. The servers themselves are nice people and polite, but, they seem pretty inexperienced at waiting multiple tables.

The restaurant was busy, but not full. There were at least 4 servers for 11 tables. That's less than 3 tables per server. Our
food came out fast, but we were never checked in on. Our drinks were never refilled. When we need the waitress, we had to find her. At one point, she seemed to have disappeared for an entire 15 minutes. We a totally had to ask other waiters for help at least 3 times. Each time they said they would find our waitress, then we had to wait another 5 or more minutes for her to arrive.

I'd like to say again, swiss chalet itself has decent food and prices. Its just this location has horrible service. Our waitress was nice when she was there, the problem is that she was never there to help us.

This restaurant needs to be shut down. I came here to dine in and there was mice running around in the restaurant. I told the manager and he said it's a known issue. Acted like there was nothing wrong. I will ne reporting this to health and safety. I dont know how they got a pass.

They ruined my love for Swiss Chalet. Entered 30 minutes before close and the kitchen called it a day? !? ! I have never been to a chain restaurant where they just decide to close the kitchen early and refuse customers. Ridiculous. I was very upset and the staff were very rude during this situation.
Two stars is sympathy for still having great food when they actually serve it.

Good value for a quick meal!
This place is a go to for a quick meal. It is a chain with good selection of chicken, ribs and delicious sides! The food is a bit fatty and they don’t have any true healthy option but nevertheless it is a good spot. The restaurant itself is a bit old and could use some renovation.dimming the light would make it more of a nice dinner experience than a quick eat spot! The service is generally good, the staff is friendly but not super sophisticated! It is also super quick, expect to have your plate no longer than 10 minutes after you ordered (typically warm but don’t be afraid to return your plate if it’s not, they will fix it for you with a smile for sure)! Definitely ideal if you are simply looking to feed yourself quickly before moving on with you evening. I definitely recommend for a quick eat at a very affordable price. Not many other places in this extremely tourists area can offer that!

Not sure why I keep going back to this location. Customer service isn’t bad, but it could (should) be better. Twice now the chicken at our table, let me start by saying it was fully cooked; but it just wasn’t consistent with they flavour of the other Swiss chalets that I’ve been to (I’m often at either the Dufferin mall location or The Queensway location). It’s also difficult to find parking

Don’t come here. Ordered a ‘Quarter chicken and garlic shrimp’ but when I got home I found there was no shrimp, nor rice. For $18 I was getting: dry and hard bread, dry and dull chicken, dry vegetables, and no shrimp. Disappointed and will never come again.
