Swiss Chalet

If you’re Canadian, you know about Swiss Chalet: this is really no different from any other franchise I’ve been, but it serves classic, hearty, affordable food in a cozy environment. Amy is a great server despite the dinner rush (can get busy) but a bit pushy. Free refills on non-alcoholic drinks and they serve beer and wine.

We had Norma as our server, she was very friendly and prompt. She delivered our food without any trouble and always checked in with us. We got the 1/2 rack rib combo w/ chicken and the Club wrap. The meat was very tender and the gravy very succulent.

Norma our server was very friendly, fast and efficient. Overall excellent customer service! Hope to see more waiters that match the same vibes as well as customer service as Norma, to keep customers coming back. Thank you Norma!

Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening to celebrate my mom's birthday (17 Sep 23). There were 24 of us! There were issues with my reservation, but they accommodated us. Really appreciated it. They even helped serve the cakes! The food was enjoyed by all. The coffee was delicious (and bottomless)! Thank you Carol and team.

My family and I came here for a dinner and it was 1 hour before closing the service was so amazing our waitress Norma went out of her way and was so friendly. The food was so fresh and nice and hot. I will definitely come back here again.

Swiss Chalet is a classic. We normally get take out but I dined in with my parents a few days ago and we had a really good time. The chicken is fantastic and the sauce can't be beat! Our server Norma was very attentive, kind, and efficient.

First time eating here. The food was pretty good for the price, but what stood out for us was the service of Norma who was kind and accommodating to the very end. She gave us a pleasant dining experience.

Service was great thanks to Norma. She's friendly and has impeccable timing with bringing us our food.the cleaning bowl was brought to us immediately right after we finished. Other then the gravy the food met my satisfaction. 4 star for the gravy 5 star for the service

Food was as expected of Swiss chalet quality - quite good. Service was phenomenal, Yvonne never let me glass be empty, offering extra sauce, and a great attitude.

Yesterday the 23rd of july 2023
i went for a late lunch with my wife and son at swiss chalet in scarborough town center around {4: 30 pm}.
I ordered a bowl of soup and I/2 a chicken w.rice
-we were served the main course before serving my soup
-the presentation of the food was not presentable
-asked for a soda water without Ice.she served it w. Ice.
We will never step a foot in this place again.
If I was the owner of this place I would hire an experience manager to take care of this restaurant properly

Missed this place use to eat it all the time when i lived here don't have it in Florida. Food was good and service was OK food took a bit to come out considering it was pretty empty at 3 In the afternoon

Enjoyed our dinner at Swiss Chalet tonight. Place was clean, food was good and our server, Freda was fantastic. She was attentive and friendly. Would definitely come back again.:)

Today we've been craving Swiss Chalet again and just had to go back. This specific location is still my favourite in Toronto. Our server Amy was wonderful. Works very hard and is attentive. Made my experience much more enjoyable. If you want good, efficient service, come to this location.

We had Norma N as a server and she was WONDERFUL! Food was delicious, to us in a timely manner, she was on top of everything without us having to wait or ask! Highly recommend coming here! ️

Great dining experience this evening. We were served by Norma who is a long timer at this location. She is a very genuine and hardworking server. Our needs were met with attentiveness. Food was served nice and hot and fresh.

Our family has been coming to this location of Swiss Chalet since they were at Brimley and Sheppard many years ago, service has been always excellent, food has been great all the time, tonight we were served by Norma, she was friendly and professional, took care of all the details and our need with great passion, her attitude and body language were positive and genuine, thank you Norma, much appreciated!

Norma is the sweetest! Always a pleasure getting served by her with her excellent customer service. Makes our experience so much more enjoyable! Have been visiting another Swiss Chalet location that she used to be at previously over the years but happened to run into her at this location!:)

Myself and my very good friend had dinner at this with Chalet this evening. Our server was absolutely incredible Freda F. If you ever get a chance to come to this Swiss Chalet ask for Freda F and sit in her section.

Typical Swiss Chalet fare. Three stars for Swiss Chalet overall. Four stars for this particular location.

Knocked a star off. Though disappointed, I like to think it was an off-day since the three visits we've been were mostly pleasant.

Went again on Aug 19. The server was Amy. We asked to sit on the patio. Most of our food came quickly.

Our experience was both rushed and absent-minded:
- Amy gave us our menus and barely any time to decide. Fortunately, we had mostly decided what we wanted.
- Didn't check up on us, and we were not asked for refills on our drinks. Definitely would have asked for refills if we could.
- After our dishes were taken away, we sat for a while waiting for our bill to pay. We waited long enough that I walked inside to pay.
- It was not until I wanted to pay that the servers realized we were not provided dessert with one of our meals.
- The pie came out quickly and was cold.

We've been here once previously, and they were predictable and pleasant.

Yvonne served us on Aug 12. Yvonne provided very good service. Appreciated how she announced when she would be serving the courses (salad, mains, dessert). Nice touch that reassured us. Friendly and pleasant throughout our meal.

Amy was accommodating and friendly. She is attentive to our orders and give us extra smile with her service. ️

I decided to go to this restaurant after my wonderful experience at another Swiss Chalet. The service and food at this branch was wonderful. I would like to thank Yvonne and Amy for our wonderful experience here. The chicken and fries texture and temperature were great. This is definitely a place you should bring your friends and family.

Amy was a excellent server, made our stay very pleasant. She's knowledgeable and helped us with our order. Very fast service, polite, our food was on the table hot and delicious. She has a very good attitude. Happy with her service.

We had a lovely dinner at our favorite local restaurant this evening. The service from Yvonne was excellent as usual! She was friendly and attentive to all of our needs. She always remembers our names and what drinks we order. I would recommend this Swiss Chalet and ask for Yvonne!

We had the amazing Norma as our server tonight! She was very pleasant and extremely hard working. She is the definition of an OG swiss chalet employee. Norma made sure everything was perfect for our huge family dinner. Highly recommend her as a server:)

Norma N is the best server! She was so accommodating and so welcoming towards our group. We were celebrating an early family Christmas dinner and she was so warm which made our dinner feel amazing?

Such great customer service by Anna or Alice I believe. Really nice and just made me feel comfortable with the indoor dining experience since Covid. A must for anyone who wants great service!

Excellent customer service by Norma, I wish there could be more wait staff like her. We felt her passion in what she does. Making sure customers are comfortable and enjoying their meal. Nowadays, seldom you will find staff who take pride of their job.

This was the first time since Covid that we've been out and enjoyed a sit down dinner.

My hubby and I both ordered the Festive special.

The food was hot and delicious.

Our server was Norma a very lovely lady.

My go to Swiss Chalet was the Eglinton location but read the reviews since they re-opened which weren't very good.

I am very happy that we chose the Scarborough Town Centre location since it is closer.   We will be back again in the near future.

Four of us went there for lunch for a reunion of sorts. We were greeted at the door by a very nice Asian lady, sorry - didn't catch the name - she was very kind and patient with my disabled elderly friend as we did the covid verification.

Amy was our waitress, who served us with enthusiasm, professionalism, and sweetness. The food, four orders of festive chicken meals, was prepared speedily and to the highest standards.

The restaurant was extremely clean, as were the restrooms.

In the future, I will be traveling to this location which is quite far from my house.

Strongly recommend this location, a very positive experience.

Frequent this establishment with my mother for all the major holidays. Our server Amy is always amazing. Definitely enjoy coming back to eat there.

The parking for this location is easy! Chicken is juicy with fresh bread and fresh Cesar salad. The environment is nice. The sunshine boy server Markvin provide excellent service for us. Next time I will go to this location again.

I had dinner in this restaurant last night. The place was clean and the food was good as usual. I especially enjoy being served by Yvonne, who is 10 out of 10 in my book. She was knowledgeable, friendly and fast. She made my visit so enjoyable. I will be coming back often.

My boyfriend and I have been to this Swiss Chalet a couple of times, and each time we go— except for one— we've been served by Norma! She recognizes us whenever we visit, and we're always happy to see her. Even better, we love her service. Courteous & friendly; she knows her customer service.

My family and I recently visited the STC location of Swiss Chalet, and we had a wonderful time! After going through the passport screening, we were directed to our booth, which was properly socially distanced from other customers. Indeed, I was impressed at all the public health safety measures this location had in place! Norma was our server, and she took care of us like we were family. She impressed me right away when she asked me to test out the ginger ale I had ordered, because she thought it might be too weak. When I told her it was indeed weak, she brought me a brand new, and improved ginger ale right away. She brought our order in a very timely manner, and she was very attentive throughout the meal. Like I said, she took care of us like we were family. She went back and forth between the register and our table so that she could honour our coupons and enter my SCENE card. She totally went above and beyond, and we were very happy with our experience that evening!

Service was great, the staff very friendly, and the meal was excellent as always. Would recommend this location to anyone. Great variety of selections from the menu and affordably priced. All around a great time had by all of us.

Norma is the best! She is very courteous, friendly, her service is top notch! Food is awesome when the customer service is amazing!:)

It was an exceptional experience dining at Swiss Chalet this evening. It was all because of JO, who served our table. She was exceptionally courteous and friendly. Wish there were more people JO working in establishments such as Swiss Chalet STC.

I came to this location last Saturday for lunch and was pleasantly impressed. The restaurant was clean and my waiter Yvonne was one of the best servers I have ever had. She even went out of the way to grab me extra rib sauce before it ran out! Will be coming back soon.

I go to this location regularly for dine-in and take-out.
This particular time, I was dining in on Saturday, September 4, for lunch with my mother.
Our server was very accomodating. She offered to top up my coffee and I let her know it was lukewarm. She apologized and made a fresh pot, which I appreciated.
Always have great service here!

Husband, daughter and I stopped for supper after playing glow in the dark mini putt. Our server was Norma N and she was fast, efficient and polite. Food came very quickly and was hot and delicious.

Came for take-out when it wasn't too busy in the early evening. Patio looked nice with a few customers relaxing. The take-out is operating at the bar towards the back where you can ring a bell for service. Same delicious dinner as always!

Norma was our server this evening and she was very kind and courteous! She was prompt and attentive; made us feel welcome! It’s not too often that you get that kind of make-you-feel-at-home service.

I placed an oder online. It was a pick up order for 50 dollars. I planned to eat inside the restaurant being the dine in is opened. I entered the restaurant and waiting for my order. They said there was no dine in facility for people who ordered in online. I had eaten as dine in from many of the restaurants those have the same online pick up. Also I used to eat food from Swiss chalet at different locations. They let me to eat inside even I had the pick up order. But I accepted it and agreed to take it out. But they told me 3 to 4 times again not eat inside. Then I ordered 2 lemonade for dine in.it was more than 3/4th of ice with no lemon on the glass. Their service was very bad. But the food was tasty

This has happend on more than three occasions. Go through the drive thru, arround 1 pm, mind you the restaurant opens arround 1130.try to order quarter chicken dark meat, the girl tells no dark meat wants to upsell me to white meat. If i wanted white meat I would order white meat. I would understand end of night if you ran out.

Pathetic behavior by the representative at the counter. Very rude, talking on top of her voice and Denied to take our order when we insisted to redeem Scene points

We visited today and the staff was warm and welcoming plus the food was cooked to perfection. This our preferred Swiss Chalet location in Scarborough by far.great job guys!

Dined on the patio for father's day and the staff that was helping us was outstanding. Thank you to the fantastic staff that was very accommodating to my 13 month old. They went above and beyond. Thank you for making our father's day so memorable. This location is one of our favourite. Kudos!

This is about terrible service provided by one of SC locations which is 300 Borough Dr Unit 1002, Scarborough, ON M1P 4P5 on 29th June 2021 between 8: 30 pm and 9 pm. This happened before as well, however this time it’s necessary to post a complaint. Here is what happened:

1. The person taking the order forced us to order meals instead of Sandwiches and said there is no option to order only sandwiches and salads, Swiss Chalet sells meals only and this has changed recently.

2. When we asked to redeem Scene points she said Swiss Chalet is having issues accepting Scene points and kept showing a printed pamphlet without even trying in the system. As this happened before at the same location we insisted her to try again and she said the machine is accepting to redeem CAD 5 only. We insisted to try again and she kept arguing and threatened that she will not take order. When insisted multiple times she redeemed CAD 30 from a CAD 35 order. It was clear that that location is doing this deliberately.

3. She took more than 30 minutes to get the order and made us wait there. While inside she called local mall security. Luckily we were there to explain the exact scenario to security.

4. Once we received the order we noticed the size of the sandwich and wrap is smaller than the standard size provided by any other Swiss Chalet location (we noticed this before also from same location). So we went to another location and ordered same thing and were able to order just the sandwiches without drinks and which are bigger than above mentioned location. Also without any issue we were able to redeem Scene points at Bayview location.

Above mentioned location is not following Swiss Chalet standards and forcing customers to buy more and kept arguing for long when customers complain. We request you to take necessary actions against the owner/ manager and the person present that time at the counter. She even called mall security when it’s totally her fault. Please review the footage from the CCTV to see how we were treated there. She made us feel really insulted by complaining against us and calling mall security on us. We would like to know what actions are you going to take against that location, the manager/owner and the person at the counter.

Swiss Chalet is always excellent. I look forward to when the restaurant is once again open to the public for inside dining as the food, service and dining experience is always enjoyable. Until then, their takeaway service shall be more than satisfactory.

I came through the drive-thru and ordered a quarter chicken combo, the girl at the front DID NOT ask if I wanted white meat instead of dark, she upsold it and was very disappointed that we had to pay an extra $2 and we prefer the dark meat. We only realized when we got home… we also waited 10 minutes in the drive-thru waiting for our order. Highly NOT recommend this location.
