Eh so like. This place didn't just go down hill, it full sprinted and swan dived into a abiss of garbage.

Let me set the scene for you. A saturday. Around noon. Not too busy maybe 10% capacity. Our watress bring us and sit us practicly at THE SAME DAMN TABLE as the ONLY OTHER GROUP in the damn place. And im not kidding or bing a karen. Im 100% serious. My mind was BLOWN and same with the other group.

Now the food.

We ordered 2 diffrent meals. Like entirely diffrent meals. And she wrote it down on a her little note pad when she took the order.
When the meals got there. Im not kidding again. The 2 PLATES WHERE MIXED TOGETHER. Like our 2 seperate meals had components of eachothers. It was the most insane thing i had ever seen be done at a reastaurent.

Atlease like the food tasted ok. But like damn.

Also never got a refill.

It was cold outside and inside.food ok.server slow clearing table.
I ordered food for delivery tonight.i received most of my order except the proper soups (asked for potato with bacon soup) received chicken noodle. I called to get my soups I ordered.the hot chicken sandwich comes with one piece of bread, not a sandwich at all. I do not recommend any swiss chalets.

Big mistake coming for the festive dinner on the day before thanksgiving. Have been waiting two hours and NO FOOD or waitress coming with anything to appease us. Keep away

The service was extremely slow for the restaurant only having 4 other tables to serve on a Saturday evening. The server forgot multiple requests and had to be reminded two separate times for a glass of water. The butter requested at the start of the meal was brought when the meal was concluding and overall the food wasn't great. Missing ingredients from one meal and overall very bland and under seasoned.

This was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had since the height of COVID and far from the expectations we had going in.

We waited a few minutes before being served. The chicken was burnt and too crispy. It felt like Thanksgiving leftovers re heated. Dissapointed. But the server was nice, but felt bad he had a lot of tables and rushing quite a bit.

I would have given five stars, but this restaurant should probably hire more people. The personnel was understaffed, hence a bit overwhelmed and we were quite a crowd, so the service was slow, but of no fault of the personnel. They still kept their cool and were friendly and courteous.

So I have never and never will I ever pay $40.00 for a quarter chicken deal again. So on the website my meal (Deluxe diner was $24.49 which inc Chicken leg, fries, spring rolls a Pepsi and a piece of pie. For almost 25 $ that seems fair. But when it was time to pay from my order (delivery) the cost was $36.14. That's a whopping $12.00 extra. They omitted to let me know that it was $ 4.00 for delivery then the tax which is fine and I also gave the driver a generous tip. So how was the food you ask for that $40.00. It was worth more like 24.49. I could add how the food was but honestly this is a very big disappointment. If there are fees when you order it should be stated when ordering.

I have not ordered from Swiss chalet since pre-covid cause they never delivered my meal I order on Christmas eve party we had at work. I gave them a chance today to redeem themselves but that back fired. If you are looking for a great meal for a decent price for deliver I don't recommend Swiss Chalet at all. Do yourself a favor and order elsewhere.

Not the nicest Swiss Chalet I've ever been to? Looks like a a fast food restaurant, service was weirdly slow but really friendly! The food was fine, but not amazing. I would choose a different location if I wanted Swiss Chalet again.

It’s a monday. I ordered online for delivery to byward at 7: 30pm. The ETA was 8: 22. And then it was 8: 30. And then it was 8: 50. And then it was 9. The restaurant is closed now and I still don’t have food. Thank god I didn’t prepay online. Called five times, no answer, all voicemail.

This is a staple in the city and whoever knows Rich chalet knows that they have a signature sauce that's delicious having said that sadly the quality wasn't as good as I remember it used to be.other than that friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere as I said the signature sauce makes up for everything else

The food was mediocre but the service was amazing. A server who was training was the one who took care of us I think her name was Mary she was great and gave excellent service

We have been for lunch at this Swiss Chalet many time when visiting Notre Dame Cemetery.
Last Sunday was our most recent visit; when arriving, we notice a broken handle at the entrance.
Once inside, after a few minutes wait we were seated and a very pleasant waitress took our order.
Quarter chicken with chicken soup.
The soup arrived promptly, hot but bland and without taste.
The main was terrible, completely dried out chicken leg almost inedible, FF / BP were ok.

Too bad we had such a negative experience, we loved to come to this place when visiting family.

We understand, these are difficult times for restaurant operators; hope management will sort this poor food quality issue out.

The server (Mara) was very pleasant and friendly.

Just terrible! I had the Nashville hot chicken Burger, which had NO sauce. No toppings and a miniscule amount of mayo. The fries were abysmal and tasted like they were several hours old. Coleslaw was also one of the worst I've ever had. Everyone else in my party had similar experiences. Would absolutely not recommend.

I give one star for Tanitia who at least called to tell us our order has been canceled.
Thanks for nothing Swiss Chalet. We ordered at 8 pm and we're expecting for 9 pm.we were even givena tracking number on the app.then we got the call.
We were hungry. I ordered $100 worth of food.
So more worse than disappointing.
Perhaps you could have told me when I ordered that u were no longer able to deliver food due to the time.ahhh!

The quality is what you should expect from a large chain restaurant.as someone who has worked in the industry (at "nicer" places) I really think a lot of the other reviews are expecting way too much.personally I am mostly giving stars based on the service we recieved from this location from Iman (Eman? Sorry if spelled wrong!) He was attentive and personable during what seemed to be a disaster night for staff. The poor guy had to come out at one point and tell us the kitchen was completely out of chicken (!). But he did so in a gracious and genuinely apologetic manner and continued to provide us with great service all things considered.

If you want an easy place to bring older relatives, Swiss Chalet is always a crowd pleaser. The location may have some issues but the staff is pleasant and responsible.:)

Once again this location is closed for delivery. Says the restaurant is closed but customer service then says the restaurant isnt delivering today. Not the first time this is an issue. And the app wont allow me to order from a different location so you have lost my business. Service and quality has steadily gone down hill.

Have been going to this location since I was 10. I have never had to ask 3 different people to take our order after having waited 20 min -Despite it being not busy. The server finally came over and said she didn’t know she was our server when I clearly saw the girl who seated us tell her 3x and point in our direction. To top it all off I found a blonde hair in my fries so left my meal without finishing it. I will never go back to this location and for sanitary reasons maybe neither should you.

If you planning to work at this place, I wouldn’t recommend. Training is not like training. Made me waste my time. On top of that refusing to respond to my text and emails, and refusing to pay me for the day I’ve worked for them. Made me stand there all day not letting me do anything but packing mash and cranberry sauce. Total waste of my time. It’s been a week plus yet no response and no payment.

My mother and I went to the restaurant for lunch the waitor was prompt. We ordered our meal and our dessert with coffee. Yumm.

Worse customer service experience we ever had.reservation at 5: 00pm 5: 45 still waiting for her drinks.waitress no smile at all.happy new year never again we will go here at all.

Ordered our food (for 10 people) and still waiting after 45 minutes. Horrible service and should not take that long at all. The food was good though

Placed an order online and like always, never receive what is on the order. Missing the 4 dinner rolls, mashed potatoes and the 4 festive coupons.
But did receive the very dry and cold spicy fries.
The Rice Pilaf was very good once you added a few drops of water and then put it in the microwave to get it hot.
Feels like when you place a order for delivery that you receive all the kitchen leftovers and not worth the price they charge.
The paperwork with the order even had circled in red the items that were missing.

Ordered delivery. Never came. Called store and had the worst call ever. Even national was disgusted by them. Swing and a miss here.

Ordered a meal for delivery with coconut cream pies for our dessert. They deliver the food and instead of coconut cream pies, they decide on their own, without even a phone call to give an update, pumpkin pie, which we don’t like. Called the store back. The manager said they didn’t have coconut cream pie. They didn’t bother to phone and give us a choice of another dessert. Then the manager states she will send us a gift card in the mail for the mistake. She asked if she could phone back to get our address…that was two weeks ago and nothing.

La nourriture est bonne, service rapide et courtois. J'adore la salade César et les rouleau de printemps. Ma grande a adorer son cheeseburger et les beignets du repas pour enfant. Meilleur poulet EVER selon mon chum.

Ce Swiss Chalet reflette définitivement son emplacement: Vanier. Service décousue (ça aide pas quand la serveuse en a fumé un gros). Après 15 minutes d’attente mon enfant n’avait toujours pas reçu son bol de crème glacée pourtant très simple à servir. Nous avons renoncé et quitté les lieux.

Sur une autre note, le menu mérite beaucoup d’amélioration, il n’y a pas de description des plats ni d’images. Le Crispy Chiken Burger est vraiment dénudé (une boulette et deux morceaux de pain, pas de laitue, pas de tomates, pas d’onion, pas de bacon). À mon avis c’est pas normal de manger un meilleur burger au PFK.

Et on ne parlera pas des toilettes qui n’étaient aucunement entretenues. Bref, un gros 0 pour cette succursale.

If I could rate this restaurant Zero Stars I would. I ordered two hours ahead through the app for pick up. When I arrived the lobby was crowded with customers waiting to order or pick up. My order wasn't ready and I had to wait 50 minutes to receive it. The order was also missing items. I was given various excuses as "staff called in sick" to "we're very busy" This is the second consecutive time my pick up order wasn't ready. The staff seem overwhelmed, under-trained and are unable to keep up with orders. I won't be back. The whole concept of ordering ahead is so your food is ready when you arrive. The franchise owner should be embarrassed.

I have only walked out of 1 restaurant in my lifetime, this should have been the second one but I was famished. It took 20 minutes for anyone to come and see us eventhough the place was only 1/4 full but then that waitress told us to wait a minute while she got another waitress to serve us, that took another 5 minutes. We gave our drink order whick took forever to come, after giving our meal orders, my meal was not what I ordered eventhough we ordered the same meals. I sent back my order and told the waitress how upset I was with our entire dining experience. I asked for second draft beer, the waitress returned and informed me that there was an issue with the draft machine so I asked for a bottle of beer only to be told that they don't have any bottled beer left.

The waitress that ended up serving us was apologetic and tried to make it up to us but was blocked by her manager.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST.

Food is always quite good, portions very large. Service and cleanliness have become an issue though. Seems the restaurant is well under-staffed.

Food arrived missing $40 of ribs. Attempted to call the store for two hours with no answer. Attempted to call the store the next day with no answer. Called Customer Service, all they could do was transfer me to the store with no answer.

Scammed me out of my money and is impossible to reach. I'm disabled I can't just walk down there and make a fuss

It was the worst experience I have ever had. Waited 45 mins for food the come. And we were the only people in restaurant. There were 10 of us. Never again. The waiter was very rude.

This restaurant really has problems. In the past 3 years they haven’t got a single order right for takeout, and the service in the dining room isn’t much better. Ordered 6 items for takeout today and only two arrived. Now I have to make other arrangements for dinner.

Was there on Saturday April 30th for a bday party.
Short staff that I understand with covid and stuff.
But bathrooms where disgusting so dirty, It use to be our favorite place now im not sure we wanna go back.
I blame the manager that should be on top of things.

Who knew that not all Swiss Chalets are created equal. Decor and ambience are above average. Chicken was better cooked (not cooked to a crisp) and fries were hot & crispy.

Swiss Chalet is a comfortable family friendly restaurant. They serve a variety of reasonably priced healthy meals. The staff are friendly, the place is clean and the food is tasty. There is lots of free parking and they except all forms of payment.

Manager Jennifer is absolutely great. She is professional, courteous, and genuinely invested in the satisfaction of her patrons. I am thoroughly impressed by her commitment to customer service and I look forward to giving this location my business in the future.

We waited 1 hour and 10 for our meal, only to be told the chicken wasn’t cooked/Ready.
Our waitress was running around, I mean physically running at times.
We spoke English and our waitress kept speaking to us in French, she was very rude.
There was a couple who arrived 10 mins after us and had their meals within 15 mins.
This is not How you run a Bussiness, I can honestly see this place going under and I will never go back!

This Swiss Chalet has the best customer service that I’ve experienced at a restaurant. The food is great as well. After getting an order incorrect the manager Jennifer went above and beyond to make it a good expierience for us. Definitely will come back/order again!

I finally got to drop in here for a late lunch. Had my favourite, Chicken Pot Pie. Fast service, pipping hot food, clean restaurant and great price.

For me, this is the best Swiss Chalet in Ottawa. My sister stopped going because others aren't consistent, were slow, food servings not as big as usual, etc. But then I went to this one and it's the best in the city according to me. Very friendly servers, good sized meals. Love this Swiss Chalet. Got a gift card for Christmas so I'll be heading back soon!

It was awfully! The chicken was way over cooked. The sauce tasted holiday tourtiere. Ordered donuts to take out. Almost burnt.
Very very disappointed. We will never go back.

Was in Swiss Chalet at Montreal Rd and St. Laurant Blvd with my patents for an early new year dinner. We got a table right away in a booth near the kitchen. Our server did not say her name but, she had heavy eye make up and seemed very busy. Seeing she was busy, not at our table though. We waited more than 5 minutes for her to say hello to us and she walked by our table 10 times at least. Saying hello I will be right with you is hard? Finally, she arrived at our table water in hand. Only problem is we did not want water. She took our order, she was very pleasant with a smile. We ordered quarter chickens with white meat, when order arrived with another server it was delivered with dark meat. So, we were not impressed with the level of service, fries were great, once we got the white meat it was great too. No offer of coffee or dessert, plates were left on our table and server asked if we were ready for the bill? We were not too happy but, paid the bill and went elsewhere for dessert. I would say this is the 6th time we have dined here and the worst experience to date. It's never great service but, the price is right and food is consistent. Hearing staff complain about coworkers and neglect customers is something that does not interest me. Next time we will go somewhere else.

Training needed. Family dinner over holidays and I wanted a Caesar. Worst Caesar ever made, no ice, no spice, no rim and served in a beer glass with warm Clamato, no garnish. The poor girl remade it 2 times and I think it got worse each time. Not a hard drink to make. I realize it is not a bar but, you should be able to make a simple cocktail. She said she was new, please train her. Next time it will be waters.
