Has anyone else noticed how much the quality of Swiss Chalet’s (Fairview Road) take out has gone downhill? They are constantly forgetting things in our order. Tonight, we ordered the festive special, but we didn’t get any cranberries or the chocolates, and coleslaw was missing from the other part of our order. When I called, I was told that the restaurant was probably out of the chocolates and we wouldn’t get them. How is that even possible? The special has just started! If they aren’t going to give you all the parts of the advertised special, then they need to discontinue it. Isn’t that false advertising? Buyer beware, folks!
This good place just got a little bit better when I realised you can ask them to substitute their famous Chalet Sauce with regular brown gravy. Our male server was gregarious and friendly, and solved all our little queries with ease.
We ordered 2 chicken festive dinners and 1 roast beef festive dinner. Food was great but the roast beef dinner had no horseradish or stuffing that was advertised as being included. A little let down.

We ordered takeout twice recently from this location and had brutal experiences both times, first pur order was dry, string all throughout one meal, a glass container of plum sauce that wasn't ordered spilled allover a chicken and rib combo making it all slimy and gross, then we tried a second time and got all wrong sides and missing items.
It's actually more like a 3.5. The waiter came back 3 times to clarify an order, which was pretty bad. The fries were cold. But the main part of the dish was good. It's Swiss Chalet - you know what you're getting. And the staff was friendly (well except the person who seated us).
No, I will not be filling out a form. I’m super sick off your raw chicken. I’ll try calling the store again tomorrow as I tried calling 3x today w no answer.
We were coming back from a car trip and famished and exhausted. We arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes before closing but were welcomed and well served by nikki-lee, the best waitress in the world.
Was quite hungry when we showed up but when waitress came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink, I had said that we were ready to place our order at that time, the waitress responded that she could only take our drink order first. Not quite sure of the logic behind it but it was enough to upset me as I was hungry and wanting to place my order.
Again Swiss Chalet screwed up my order. If don't check my order at the restaurant there is always something missing this time I ordered white quarter chicken with extra Coleslaw. Where the hell are my fries you guys just lost another customer.
Ordered 2 quarter chickens one dark and one white meat, which you pay more for. Got 2 dark meats only. Too far to go to take it back, so one wasted meal. Chicken and sauce was fine but fries were substandard - edible, but only just so. Also had parodies and they were nice.
UPDATE: I received a reply to this review from Swiss Chalet asking me to fill out a form giving email, telephone, etc, including dates and the bill number. Who keeps those types of bills? Without all that data, you cannot submit the form.
What I had hoped for was some indication they planned to improve quality control and staff training to avoid future mistakes. I was not looking to get my money back or any sort of freebie.
Had the half chicken dinner. Cook times are too long. I am sure many will agree. I know about safe temperature readings but when the dark meat is dry? Too long cooking. Meal was still good but it could be perfect. Pepsi is better than all bars.
Service is mediocre at best. Coffee was luke warm and had to be reheated. Our bundled dinners were of medium quality, and the fries are probably the worst I have ever had! After paying our bill, the server never said thanks for the tip, and we decided that we will never return to your restaurant chain ever!
Take out order missing items. Returned, got refund, no apology or concern. Best part was when staff were stocking condiment area one said “gross! ”. I’m glad we both have the same opinion.
The staff was great The food was NOT the management should be embarrassed about the fact that a quarter chicken dinner looked like it came from a quail instead of a chicken and the chicken chicken sandwich was turned out to be a crispy chicken sandwich that turned out was unbeatable not impressed most likely won't go to this location again
The service was fast and friendly. My food however was over cooked (chicken strips). The fries were stone cold. I will never order chicken strips again.
Since our local SC closed on Brant St, we decided to order from the Fairview St location. I understand that it is Thanksgiving weekend, but was not expecting such chaos. Placed on-line order so it would be a fairly quick pick-up. Line up is more than several people deep and beyond a normal wait. Took 30 mins to get inside, then was told it would another 20 mins for our take-out order. Was hearing from everyone that there was several messed up orders and the lack of staff (lack of staff in the industry as whole isn't helping so I do understand that part). I told the staff member we would prefer to cancel and go elsewhere instead of just prolong the agony in the chaotic environment. Sorry SC, won't be going back to this location in Burlington.
Terrible Service, Dry Food and Missing Items. This is not the first time and has happened and the manager doesn't care. We contacted head office and all they did was forward it to the store manager who is clearly the problem. So nothing will be done and we won't be back.
Doris was our AMAZING server! She was extremely attentive and more than went above and beyond with her professionalism and bubbly personality! Our meals were ready in good time, hot, generous portions and added extras with the Festive Special! We even had some to bring home! We will be back again!
Ordered at 4: 30PM for 6: 10PM pick up. Order was still not ready at 6: 50PM. When asking the staff one young boy got rude and told the staff to not bother answering customers and to tell them to go wait. There was no description of how long or why orders were taking so long even if placed in advance. My main concern is how rude the staff were with customers, and no offer of assistance or compensation for the wait.
We ordered the Festive Special. It arrived at our table deliciously hot, with thick, yummy Chalet sauce, perfect fries (as usual) and crispy chicken. Topped off with the festive extras which included FIVE Lindt Chocolates, this lunch became a Christmassy feast.
Worst restaurant in Burlington. Make people wait more than an hour and ignore them. No one honest here. They dont even care anything. I will aak my friends to never visit this restaurant.
Ordered online for curbside pick up, all went well until I got home and found 2 orders of fries were missing. Call customer service and was credited for the fries. If you order for curbside verify your order before you leave. Very disappointed with this location, will not be ordering from here again.
Got take out for two half chickens with fries and salad. The chicken was horrible, dry and badly overcooked. You can find a much better chicken at Costco for 8 bucks along with much tastier French Fries for another couple of bucks. With no quality control, it amazes me that this company is still around.
Great service. But the ribs were dry as bone. No moist jucy ribs as mentioned. Romano was awesome. Friend had chicken it was great! Last time trying Swiss Chalet for ribs. Or for anything. Sorry guys. Merry Christmas.
Less than a week ago I would have rated 5 stars and I ordered here regularly, but after my last 2 deliveries, I won't be ordering here again.
Hour and a half wait I don't mind, couple that with cold chicken and sides, as well as a driver who doesn't understand the concept of contactless delivery and I've lost my faith in the place.
Maybe their take out and dine-in is more reliable but I doubt it if this is the kind of service a regular customer gets.
Manager is rude, making excuses for late delivery and cold food. Calling head office in the morning. NEVER go to this location! No customer service and hung up the phone when I was speaking to her.
Meagre portions of over cooked wings with little flesh on them, ditto the ribs. Cumbersome online ordering system. Can't pay by gift card on line. Staff rude. Food not ready at appointed time, but tastes like not freshly cooked. Overpriced.
Honestly I’ve had multiple issues at this location throughout the years tonight yet again missing items from order, call the location which never answers the phone after you’ve ordered and require help. Call support and this agent starts laughing as I explain the problem as more credits are useless this is what I get for being dumb and not just cooking.
Insanely slow service for takeout. Food is the same as it is anywhere. Staff trying their hardest but it took way too long. According to their sign they’re hiring for all positions so they must be short staffed
Well tell you what, my wife and I stop at this place today, we appreciate the service and the food, we ordered full rack of ribs we just told the girl we would share, when she bought the food to the table, she had dived it into two plates. We loved it.
We've been enjoying Swiss Chalet for years.until today. This was a terrible disappointment. Primarily due to the person taking the phone order, clearly she misunderstood, however that didn't surprise me because it took 3 attempts for her to get the 4 digit home address number correct. My Chicken Sandwich had almost zero mayo on it, no coleslaw on it.pretty much just a battered chicken piece on a bun. I also ordered the new seasoned fries on the side. NOPE.that didn't happen, and the fries arrived cold.not even lukewarm. One of the chicken dinners we ordered was supposed to be dark meat. NOPE.that didn't happen. Burlington has a lot of restaurants competing for business.so I suggest you sharpen your tools.
Ordered online with app i ordered one of the family deals selected 6 legs. We didn't get what we ordered. We got 2 legs, two 1/4 white. In the end my coworkers ate chicken.i didn't.just ate the fries and sauce. I even tipped the delivery guy $9. He complained about waiting 15 minutes. "I have alot of deliveries to do. " He didn't even bother calling me when he arrived at the hospital. To meet him outside or in the lobby.
Try to avoid this location. They often forget to put everything you ordered into the bag. It's hard to check everything now especially with covid protocols. They want you out of the store and won't even provide a table for you to check the order. They never forget to charge you though.
