Swiss Chalet

This evening I was served by the lovely Suzanne at the Barrhaven location of Swiss Chalet. While I'm sure she was not doing anything out of the ordinary, Suzanne was just the most lovely.warm and helpful server.

I am a true believer in sharing my thanks to someone who did a great job at their job (a lesson I learned from my mom). It not only puts a smile on their face, but it does mine.

In no way do I know Suzanne, and have no reason to celebrate her other then that she deserves to be celebrated (although I am totally in favor of hyping up your peeps with great reviews).

Often reviews are a place where customers feel they are entitled to share their pity party of a bad experience (and shame on all of you who take time out of your day to do that - it's like, totally gross). Not often enough do clients and customers share just a regular, ordinary great experience.

That being said, thank you Suzanne, for making an little mid-week dinner date with my mom that much more special!

Just finished a double leg dinner after pick up from Barhaven location. Food was great. Will order again!

Ordered taked out on Oct 9,2023.
Ordered online at 4: 40 for pick up at 5: 40.got there at 5: 20. Left at 7 with no food.
Big lines ups, zero organization. Orders all over the place/front table and in back.
Order was paid in full. Wanted a refund, apparently they could not issue refunds. Ask for a gift card. Store refused at first then finally issued a gift card.

I had most of my chicken raw, and my friend also got food poisoning, never going back. (Edit I went back, and they were denying the fact that I got it from their chicken.)

You discontinued the chocolate cake, not ok makes me sad inside. My boyfriend cried because I didn’t bring him any home

Ordered 2 thanksgiving specials, it arrived, cold, missing the cranberry sauce and the pies and sour cream. 45 mins later still no sign of the requested items after a call to the location. Food quality is awful and will not be ordering from SC again.

It’s now 3 hours and another call to them at the 2 hour mark and still no pies, cranberry or other cold items.

Ps the fries were like rubber.

Tried calling to make a reservation because I had a big group. Told me they don’t take reservations. Showed up with my group and then was asked repeatedly if we had a reservation by different employees. (They obviously take reservations) Management seems to be incompetent and requires additional training. Poor management leads to poor customer service which leads to do dissatisfied guests.

Different thought. Advertised thanksgiving meals, you get here and they aren’t doing thanksgiving. Ordered ribs that came cold. Out of desserts. As I was leaving they were running out of fries. I’ve worked in restaurants for over a decade, this Place is a disaster. Don’t understand why management would put the serving staff through all this. Everyone around was dissatisfied. Not one manager came to apologize, nothing. At least apologize to your guests, cowards.

Since corporate changed hands, the food quality has plummeted.
I mostly ordered online for delivery and was disappointed by rubbery chicken and tasteless sides.
I dined-in once a couple months ago, the place was filthy with hardly anyone working. The floors were sticky to walk on and you could barely see the floor through the thick black grime coating it.
The staff were great! They acted professionally despite clearly being overworked.
I have not been back since, have not ordered anything. I have told a few friends to avoid the chain. One of the friends agreed that something changed and they already had ceased their patronage.
If Recipe Unlimited keeps this up, the food would worse than Tim Hortons "food"

Made a reservation for 15 for Thanksgiving.
When we arrived we were told they don't take reservations even after one of the employees took it.
Horrible service.

Ordered Thanksgiving Feast meal as I became ill this weekend and could not cook for my family. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food to be ready (take out). When we got home the food was ice cold and half the products were missing - no pie, no cranberry sauce, no chalet sauce and no buns. This isn’t the first time this location has messed up my order. Won’t be going back again. Not worth the money or frustration.

We called for a pickup order for 6: 15pm, we ordered the thanksgiving family meal. When I arrived at the restaurant, It was completely packed with customers also waiting on their online orders.

The employees were calling orders at random, which means that there was no consideration whatsoever for the customers who were waiting long before me. They were still waiting on their orders to be called while the customer who arrived last only had to wait 5 minutes before their order was called. I had to wait 40 minutes to get mine. It was just shy of 7pm when I got out of there.

When we got home, we realized that the cranberry sauce, the 4 pies, one of the sides, and the extra stuffing we ordered was missing. Very unhappy with my experience at this establishment.

We arrived and said we were a group of 8 people. They said wait time was roughly 30-45 minutes, which was fine. The lady called out party’s name and then said “oh a group of 8, give me a minute”. We saw her trying to clean tables, then she went and spoke to her manager. The manager was clearly upset and speaking rudely to the employee. She then came to the front and said “where’s the party of 8? ” When I said it was us, she said they couldn’t accommodate and that it would be a 30-45 minute wait. When I asked if that was an additional 30-45 minute wait or if that was the same as when we had arrived (20 minutes prior) she said “well I don’t know, I can’t start kicking people out of their tables to accommodate you” I said that wasn’t what I was asking, obviously, I just needed clarification as I was accompanied by my 90 and 92 year old grandparents. I asked if we could sit in two separate booths (4 and 4) as we were paying separate bills anyways which she replied in a very rude tone “no, I can’t do that”. She then proceeded to call two groups of 4 back to back and say them right beside each other in the dining hall. Extremely bad service and the manager on shift was very unprofessional and rude to not only the customers but to her staff as well. Will not be returning to this location. Very disappointing service.

Was greeted and seated right away. I was impressed how quickly my meal arrived. The chicken was very juicy and tender. Overall thr meal was delicious

My friend and I went to this restaurant after a movie as we often do on Sept 3 2023
We ordered the chicken stir fry on a bed of rice.
The chicken was not pieces as we expected it was shredded chicken and the rice was mixed in. It was like slop, so mushy. My friend could only eat a few mouthfuls and I didn’t eat much more. It was really bad. We are now leery about going back again which is sad as we use to really like Swiss Chale

5 stars is definitely not enough. Suzanne was our server when we went on Sat sept 2. Her attitude, as well as other staff members, were absolutely incredible. Caring, interactive, fun, and more. The food was that much more incredible due to the amazing and wonderful service. Thank you Suzanne and others for the amazing experience. Truly memorable, wonderful, and so much more. Suzanne’s attitude and experience helped the team become better. The team is already incredible and amazing, Suzanne’s energy just helped things feel like it was a timeless and effortless experience. Good attitudes promote so many wonderful things. I can’t say enough about the great experience there.

Hadn't been here in a decade and I remeber why. Spent $165 for what equates to sub par cafeteria food. The atmosphere is as depressing as the food: (

One of the best fast food places I’ve gone to. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The food is great and always very fresh. I come here with my friends every week or so. 10/10

Waited over 20 minutes just to have someone come out our name on the seating list. No server in sited for 20 to take order. When we were sat half the restaurant was empty.

Ordered Uber eats and was not impressed at all. More condiments than food. What food there was was cold. Tasteless. Never again.

The food service and the care and interest shown by the staff to your clients keep your customers happy and satisfied.

Just had the basic quarter dark and fries. The server, (I think her name was Hope?) was absolutely amazing even though she had SO many other tables to help

Great quick service, food came quick, server was friendly and serviced us quickly and asked us a few times how things where. Great value.

Worst experience! Ordered chicken with salad, but was served salad only, as my order was messed up. The other order was fish and chips. It came with the chicken dipping sauce, instead of tartar and coleslaw as described on the menu. What a joke!
