This location is quite outdated. Service was slow, despite being almost empty. Food was ok. Swiss Chalet no longer gives a small slice of cake on birthdays. Really? Better off at another restaurant.
Since the closure of Swiss Chalet near Overlea, this one has become our go-to spot when meeting up with relatives. It was conveniently near where we went for a morning church service. With the return of the roast beef, my wife was pleased to go there. Parking is ample. Staff is friendly. And who doesn't love Swiss Chalet?
I'm so fed up with this location at 1450 O'Connor Drive. No matter how many times I ask for fresh and hot fries or baked potatoes when taking food home, they never deliver on their promise I've been ordering from this location for 20+ years and decided I will no longer eat there! It's as though they pack the takeout food with old stale potatoessadly the prices have increased, but the quality is way down.
Our experiences eating here has been amazing. The food was superb. This location is great. I come to realize that East Yorkers have it pretty good. Had my TV repair service from this same area on Cosburn Ave in East York. Then we have The Beaches where the yearly Jazz Festival is on Queen St and the Taste of the Danforth Greek Fest. Go on people and enjoy! How could you not? With all that Greek tasty food. Nice community with great events and so much to offer.
Not complaining, since I am from the Leaside area and I love it. East Toronto is great!
The driver banged at my door violently 10 or 12 times despite requesting no contact. When I finally got up from my business call, the guy was all huffy and left muttering to himself in sorts. Very scary attitude.
This location was amazing. The staff were extremely friendly. Our waitress was amazing. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. Washrooms were extremely clean. I have not been to swiss chalet for a while because some are really run down lately. I will definitely return to this location.
They have plenty of gluten free items and they have a dedicated for French fries love the ribs and chicken and that sauce with the fries to die for will definitely be returning to this location they also have a drive through
I went with a friend yesterday for chicken dinner. Not only was the food good, but we were quite taken by the old-school ambience at this location. The table service was top-notch and fast, and the lady who greeted us and showed us our table was friendly and smiling. Nice spot for casual dining.
If you're looking a long, slow, lengthy meal, this is your place. The service is very slow; how slow you ask? I would describe it purposely slow, to the point of near neglect. Consider yourself warned.
I'm personally not a big fan of Swiss Chalet but a few family members love it so I've been to this location many times and have enjoyed myself for the most part. Today I wanted to book a reservation for 20 ppl for a birthday and spoke with the manager - Loretta who was extremely uninviting and actually came off as rude. Talking to me like I've never been to a restaurant before telling me if I'm late at all she'll give the table away and repeating herself multiple times as if I was a child. They also had a restriction of only two bills and they I asked for 3 she said it wasn't possible "their system doesn't allow for it", but some how was able to "make an accommodation" when I explained it was 3 different families coming. I got off the phone and so bothered by our interaction that I ended calling a different location who was very happy to take my reservation and made it very simple and called back to cancel at this location. No thanks to that vibe!
