I highly recommend this amazing spot! We had an incredible dinner at this small yet inviting restaurant. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was top notch and all around great vibes. Can't wait to go back!

Super delicious food with big portions. Everything was cooked really well. The meats and kimchi were especially tasty. Service was a bit slow but overall didn't detract from our experience. Everyone was very polite. Extra bonus that it's a peanut-free kitchen!

Small clean well appointed Korean Restaurant with great fried chicken but also other great options that are very well prepared. Excellent and friendly service. Worth a second visit. Well priced as well.

40 minutes waiting for food is too long for my liking. Unlike other Korean restaurant they start your main with the sides, aren’t you suppose to start the sides first? Why is there only one chef working in Saturday afternoon busy hour? This place is absolutely atrocious in terms of the wait time.

I have never experienced such a bad service attitude with any restaurant in Ottawa. Long story short. The waiter is awesome but while I was waiting for my friend, someone walked to me (I guess is the owner) and I couldn't believe that he came up was to slap the table and shout at me because I was waiting for my friend. I was very offended and not only that but he kicked me out as a first visit customer. I really wouldn't have sat down to eat if I hadn't paid for it. This is my first time and will be my last time going to that this restaurant and I will not recommend to any of my friends and my family at all.

Service and presentation was absolutely amazing at this restaurant! However I found the food and flavours were somewhat lacking given how much people have been talking about this restaurant lately. Since I personally love Korean food and eat it relatively often I was excited to try it but maybe we needed to order the fried chicken dishes instead…

Gamjatang - great portions and lots of fall off the bone meat which was great! However I found the flavour to not be your traditional Gamjatang flavour, maybe they add more doenjang or their own seasoning but it just didn’t hit the spot for me unfortunately (side dishes were pretty tasty though)

Bulgogi bibimbap- your average bibimbap, but the highlight was their vegetable soup which was packed with flavours!

Spicy rice cakes- they had a good mix of fish cakes and cabbages and flavour was pretty good, but it didn’t wow me.

Overall I don’t think I’d necessarily go back for any of the dishes we tried that time, but we might go back to try their fried chicken dishes.

Fantastic service and very delicious food! The presentation of the food was beautiful and very well priced for the quality and amount! Really lovely atmosphere as well, I can see why it was busy when we went!

It really hit the spot! Perfect for a good day. Pasta was really creamy and thick. The chicken was really flavourful and there was enough for leftovers. The rice cakes and fish cakes were the perfect spice and super cozy as well. And each dish pairs well with their pickled radish. Overall perfect experience and definitely worth the try! I’d say call in advance, since there is quite the wait as well for seating.

“This is my house, you either stay in this table or leave. ” That was what the owner told us when we complained about being cold sitting next to an open door and want to switch table when we saw one was available.

I came with my friend. But we had a very bad customer experience and encountered a truly unreasonable and rude boss. My friend felt truly chilly at one table and kindly asked the owner if we could move to another table or he could close the door. He rudely replied either we waited outside or just leave. Unbelievably rude.

Visited with my co-worker at lunch time. Ordered Bulgogi (beef) and Bulgogi bibimbap. Bulgogi is really tender and soft. Soup is also really lovely. It is soft tofu and spicy soup. Rice is also mixed with black rice which I really love. Side dish was perfect and you also get hot tea. This tea is really good and boost appetite. Overall it is perfect lunch. Restaurant is pretty clean and service is really good. There are also a lot more in the menu such as fried chicken. Definitely come back next time.

Unbelieve that this place has a rate of 4.6. Wonder if its fake. Extremely bad customer service with so called "authentic" korean food. Yeah "bulgogi" consists primarily of rice and vetgetables. Literally 2 tiny pieces of beef inside. Even McDonald's happy meal gives more protein than this $22 dollar junky Bulgogi bimbimbap.

When we brought this up to the guy, his only reaction was Ohhh this is how Bulgogi bimbimbap is like, its rice and vegetables. He has no apology nor manner. He thinks he has experienced more Korean food as he is a Korean.

Please go get some real customer facing and service training before opening a restaurant.and dont be so CHEAP on the food!

Been meaning to try this place for a while - met and surpassed expectations. The Spicy Dak Gung Jung (boneless chicken) was phenomenal, and so was the linguini side-dish.

Horrible horrible horrible service! Do not come to this establishment if you have 7 or more people in your party. Came in with my husband and daughter and asked to be seated…my sister and her family (4 of them) are outside finding parking at this time. The server and the owner refused to seat us because we had a big group. So, we asked if my family could be seated separately from my sister’s family and the owner still refused! He told me that he’s had problem with big crowds disturbing other patrons. I told him that this would not be an issue since we are seated in different tables…. But he still refused us service after trying to reason with him and his illogical excuse for serving two families sitting in different tables. I will never come back to this restaurant and I will make sure to tell everybody I know how poorly we were treated!

Shocked by this restaurant. The restaurant was nearly empty but both the waiter and then the owner came to move us to from our table two times! I told the owner I would prefer not to move my table again, and he got aggressive and raised his voice. We got scared he was raising his voice at us. We didn’t even stay 2 minutes and left before we ordered. Please learn some manners.

My friend and I stopped in for dinner and both got the bulgogi bibimbap. The dish was delicious & filling and came with a variety of Korean side dishes and a soup which were all also very good. Good food portions. The service was good and overall I’m glad we stopped in.

If you're into Korean food, this is the place to go barnun. If you're looking for excellent Korean food experience go here. I can't say anything negative about this place the food is fantastic! 'If you're arriving with a group of a few people be prepared to wait because the restaurant area is small. Be advised that if you have more than a few people try the soya sauce chicken as it will feed several people and probably have left overs as it's an amazing dish. A real gem.

Visited this restaurant today and I have a few things to say about it. Off the rip it was fairly small in size but accommodated well enough for space between tables which I liked, menu is mostly chicken of the sweet and spicy nature. I ordered the Kimchi fried rice with the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. The kimchi fried rice was really good in my opinion and flavourful but the Jumbo Shrimp was very bland and dry and even though I finished the meal it was hard getting through that last shrimp. I also ordered the spicy Korean fried chicken which faired well but nothing very special. It was smothered in sauce and not as juicy as I would like it to be. All these reviews saying “Best fried chicken in Canada” is completely blasphemous and false. Solid 3.5/5 for me.

Had an excellent experience here for lunch today! The staff were soooo friendly and welcoming, and the food was amazing! We had the Bulgogi Bibimbap and the Spicy Dak Gang Jung with pasta—I definitely recommend both. The portions were so generous and also came with great side dishes. 10/10

I've been here multiple times and loved it every single time. I got the pork bone soup and it was extremely flavourful. I recommend reserving a spot ahead of time or you might be waiting 1-2 hours for a spot.

We enjoyed our bulgogi, the spicy&sweet chicken with cheese corn, and tteokbokki. The bulgogi meal is at the perfect quantity, the chicken would be better with more side dishes, tteokbokki had more fish cake than rice cake. Soju was overpriced like any other Korean restaurant in town. The service was amazing, we didn’t wait for too long, the restaurant is clean, cute wallpaper and lights, loved the vibe. Definitely will visit again soon!

The food was good, and the environment was comfortable and clean. I wasn't happy that several selections on the menu were unavailable (seafood stew and Korean beer - the latter was a supply chain issue which I kind of understand). They also charge a lot for the side dishes which are very small in portion. Seriously charging $3.5 for four pieces of cucumbers is unreasonable.

We enjoyed a great meal at this restaurant! We ordered the Spicy Dak Gang Jung (fried chicken) with side dishes as well as the Soy Dak Gang Jung with corn cheese. The chicken was freshly fried and tasty. The spicy chicken wasn't too spicy-I was able to eat it without a problem, and I don't have a high spice tolerance. The corn cheese was warm, sweet, and creamy, although in the end I thought it was a bit too rich when paired with the fried chicken. I preferred the side dishes, which included kimchi, salad, potatoes, and pickled cucumbers, as their sharper/spicier taste cut through the grease of the fried chicken well. Personally, I didn't think the fried chicken was the best I've ever tasted. It was definitely palatable, but both the spicy and soy chicken were coated with sauce, and I generally enjoy dry fried chicken more, so I found this chicken to be too saucy. This is likely just personal preference though.

Our server was super friendly and came to check on us often. The decor of the restaurant was unique and cozy. The portion sizes were very generous, and the price was quite reasonable for the food we got. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!

Note that this restaurant does not have its own parking lot, although there is street parking close by. Also, while the maps hours are right, and they do close at 10pm, we saw them turning new dine-in customers away after 8: 30pm. Customers who were already inside the restaurant could eat until 10, and they were still doing takeout after 8: 30.

Great place to go for a decent meal. The main dishes are beautifully cooked and served with all kinds of appetizers just like an authentic Korean restaurant found on the streets of Seoul. The spicy fried chicken is one of the best you can find in Canada!

Fried half/half chicken was delicious but my seafood stew was pretty bland in flavour. Prices are shockingly high compared to other Korean restaurants. Service was very friendly and attentive and the location was very clean.

Easily the tastiest Korean food I’d had in Ottawa. Would highly recommend. When dining in, the large platter they use is a cool experience

Best restaurant we've been to so far! This is my first time having Korean food and it was incredible. We got the bulgogi bibimbap, whole sweet and spicy chicken, and galbi jjim (ribs). The service was so polite, friendly and accommodating. The portions were large and filling. The banchan (side dishes) was fantastic, especially the cucumber kimchi. Make reservations! It's a small but lovely spot

Introduced some Korean food to friend. He was very consent with his food (galbi Jjim)! He only hoped that the serving was a little bigger.

I had the seafood haemul soup.
It was nice, but I hoped that it would consist of the actual puffed rice from the cooker/pan.

There’s a timeframe of 1.5 hours for each table.

There were quite some flies flying around, that it was a bit annoying as we ate. I would hope the restaurant deals with this problem.

Made reservations here for a Saturday night dinner and we were seated promptly inside the well-distanced restaurant. Service was very friendly and kind.

We ordered a whole fried chicken for the table to share and also the tteokbokki and bulgogi bibimbap. The food comes in a nice big wooden tray that's also holding the banchan and soup.

The fried chicken was the best dish of the night. A proper Korean crunch that was light and the chicken was juicy inside. The tteokbokki wasn't really spicy and a bit overly sweet. The spicy flavour for the fried chicken wasn't spicy either, perhaps it's to cater to the local customers in Ottawa. The bulgogi bibimbap had a good amount of beef but the dish wasn't very hot. Maybe because they top the dish with lettuce/spring mix it cooled it down quickly.

Food was fresh and place was clean! Staffs are friendly and nice.

A bit on the pricey side. If you are Korean though food might be a bit too sweet.

I love everything about this place! We ate Saturday night, and it was full, so I recommend calling for a reservation. Awesome food, tasty and nourishing, well presented, hot; pleasant decor; it's just great Korean. Really sweet and smiley server. We will be back for sure!

Food was okay - the chicken was good but the gamjatang was missing a few things in terms of flavour. The broth wasn't nearly as rich as it is in most gamjatang, and it was missing a lot of dwenjang (fermented soy bean paste). It was oddly heavy on ginger and the overall flavour was very thin and one dimensional. I don't think the broth was made with the pork bone. Maybe an intentional decision to appeal to foreigner's palates a bit more.

Pricing is okay, though items like bibimbap and fried rice have no reason to cost nearly as much as the chicken dishes.

A decent Korean fried chicken experience. Friendly service and staff is helpful. Whole fried chicken tasted okay - crispy for sure but both soy and sweet and spicy sauces are on the sweeter side a bit more than liking. Included side of pickled radish is good as expected. Melted cheese gives a little different flavour to the fried chicken in my opinion but not a must try. Takeout order was given in an open bag to prevent sogginess. Need to try their boneless fried chicken.

What an exceptional time. The service is top notch. The food is wonderfully fresh, high quality and flavourful. The chef-owner is a stand-up guy - incredibly humble, kind and friendly. This is a must-visit if you're from the area.

My favourite Korean food in Ottawa. I love going to Table Sodam - that is when they have a table free! It's no surprise to see this restaurant so busy. The staff is kind and friendly, and the food is always delicious and fresh! Every time I visit I bring new friends or family to enjoy with me.
(Looking forward for the worst of this pandemic to pass so I can go in and enjoy again!)

We ordered 9-Kimchi fried rice with tofu 11-Sweet&Sour Pork and 14 fried chicken half and half sauce. The fried chicken is probably a four person serving! Super crispy, nice flavours, especially after dipping in Cheese. One of the best Korean-owned restaurants in Ottawa. Will definitely go again!

I ordered meal No. 15, which was not bad in general. The taste was quite satisfactory, not amazing, and the meat was a little bit dry. The sauce tastes mediocre. You still have a lot of room for improvement. But I will buy it again. Pickled white radish can be sour and sweeter.

This has got to be one of the top 5 meals ive ever had in my life! SERIOUSLY AMAZING! Everything, even the vegetables, was so incredibly full of flavour! I savoured every single bite and could barely even contain my delight, kind of like how trisha paytas gets during her mukbangs.a perfect meal, gorgeously presented even though i got it delivered.i am in awe of korean food, really regret not trying it sooner.

Best Korean Fried Chicken I've had to date in Ottawa! Great staff, reasonably fast turnaround. Just headsup that they don't accept Amex.

Worst chicken i have ever had in my life. We ordered the Soy $39.99 chicken and threw almost all of it out. Tons of amazing Korean fried chicken in the city.stay clear from this place. I emailed the owners 5 days ago to let them know i think they forgot to put sauce on the chicken - no response, what a shame. With taxes etc a $50 meal into the garbage, they don't care.

Generous portions, great tasting food, clean open kitchen what a great meal our family had of the whole fried chicken and a Korean stew. The take out includes all the sides you would get if you were eating in.

I forgot to take a picture of my meal, I just dug in. The food was delicious and the waiter was so patient and explained the menu to us. My sister and I shared a plate and it was plenty! I'm definitely coming here again. Our food came pretty fast too!

Absolutely love this place! The service is fantastic, friendly, and quick. The food is absolutely delicious. I unfortunately wouldn't know whether it's authentic or not but it is delicious nonetheless. Nice place for a small group of friends or for a date night. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star is because in general in terms of restaurants around the world, it's not a five star restaurant but for what Ottawa has to offer it's one of the best.

Probably one of the best korean restaurant ever. The customer service is amazing. They give you space to think and despite being small it is a place that is delicious and great. I will FOR SURE go back.

Excellent food, serving sizes are very generous and price is good. Nice atmosphere and decor and great staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Service is great, smiles and hot tea! Very attentive even when busy. We got the 12 with cheese corn and it was delicious with a really generous serving size. Both of us ended up taking some home. Price is fair but don't expect cheap, everything is quality with large sizes so it reflects that!

We ordered their pork bone soup (with rice, side dishes) and Korean fried chicken (with corn and radish, and added rice). The pork bone soup tasted amazing. There was a generous amount of pork, the broth was seasoned nicely and had the right amount of spice. The purple rice was amazing and complemented the pork bone soup and the Korean fried chicken. The Korean fried chicken was saucy and was pretty good as well. The corn was super cheesy and tasty; balanced out the spicy/sweet sauce. Service was good and place was clean.

Great fried chicken options (both of them). Kinda crowded and food can take a bit, but it's worth it. Their bulgogi is ok.

The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and nice. We ordered the Tteok-bokki as a starter- was a bit of a disappointment. It wasn’t spicy at all, small portion for the price with few rice cakes and overpowered by veggies.
Our mains- we got the pork bone soup with all the sides and the fried chicken with Alfredo pasta. Both my partner and I were happy with the mains. The presentation on the serving boards was simple yet great. Will definitely be back to try more off the menu.

Such a joy to finally goto a high-quality Korean eatery in Ottawa! The chef-owner selects the freshest ingredients to produce his culinary masterpieces - just like the master chefs in Korea! As a Korean-Canadian, I have a very discerning palate for high-quality Korean cuisine. Table Sodam is now my long-awaited GO-TO Korean restaurant in Ottawa!
