Amazing food. Great service. Cash only which sucks a little but honestly it makes it somehow more charming

This place is awesome. The wife and I were craving birria and this place had good reviews so we checked it out and we’re so glad we did. It’s super authentic and the staff are extremely nice. It seriously tasted like the last time we were visiting Mexico. 10/10 recommend.

This was pretty disappointing. Nothing tasted fresh, or marinated / flavourful or particularly delicious. We left most of our food uneaten.

Great little taco place. Food is great, especially the fish tacos. Cash only. Service is great, and the place has a nice vibe for a group.

The food was good, had platanos, pupusas, chicken soup, and the enchilada platter. Pupusas are $5 and decent size, and there are lots of other options as well. The service knocks down stars for our experience, as the waitor was very confrontational when a wrong order was delivered. He did apologize in the end but takes away from experience of dining.

Not my kind of Mexican sorry to say my friend and I were looking and he spotted tacos El asador so in we went the place was busy. Service was a bit slow. I had a black bean soup and soft tacos my friend had a burrito was not his taste.the beef in my tacos was way over cooked and bland. I won't be be back so fast.sorry.

One of my favourite spots in Toronto. Very fun, welcoming vibes, surprisingly cheap prices, absolutely delicious food. Couldn't recommend more.

Pre-ordered take out here. When I arrived the food was ready and well packaged. The staff were very friendly too. I ordered the beef burrito, 3 birrias + consome which came with nachos and salsa, shrimp soft taco, pulled pork soft taco and beef soft taco. All of the food was freshly made and delicious, especially dipped in the consome, which I could drink by itself! My faves were the salsa, shrimp tacos and birrias with consome. I would definitely recommend Tacos El Asador and I look forward to trying new items. Note that this is a cash only establishment.

This place was amazing! The food was so good and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. Smoky was the sweetest guy ever and i will definitely be coming back!

Carnita taco was bursting with flavour. I got a beef (asada, I think) and carnita taco to go. The carnita was perfectly cooked. They gave u plenty of diced onion (no taco place in kensington does that) and one of the tacos had tiny diced radish which gave nice flavour. They even give fresh jalapeno on the side. Again, no other taco place does that so I know I found a true taco place. This is located in Korean town on bloor. If u take subway, it's the Christie stop which is two stops west of spadina and bathurstt. I stopped going to kensington because the taco places there dont give jalapeno nor onion.and hard to find good Carnita. This place has authentic Carnita with juicy flavour.

The food here is. Atrocious to put it lightly. The food we got arrived soggy, bland, cold. The veggies were getting old. The best thing about the food was the hot sauce we had to add. Will never order from here again.

Edit in response to owner: you can't honestly tell me that wilted, almost black cabbage is fresh (which was supposed to be pinkish red in colour). I can handle cold food, and I understand there are delays in delivery, but I could almost feel the texture of the corn flour in my quesadillas. On top of that, the burrito was half rice. The beef in the quesadillas was so grey and dry, it was actually insulting. I won't even begin to describe the flavour, mostly because there wasn't any. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but please don't try to blame the quality of your food on the delivery time when we ordered 3 different items and they were ALL bland, over or undercooked, or just simply not fresh.

Hands down the best tacos I’ve tasted in Toronto so far. The lengua - beef tongue - taco has one of the loveliest texture filling I’ve tried in a taco. Prep time is longer than most places, so you just know they’re putting their time and love into the food.

Best papusas and great value for money the manager is so lovely she was so kind and made sure I could have what I wanted whilst catering to my allergies

Delicious tacos and papusas. Papusa are Salvadoran stuffed corn masa cakes. Nice patio space on Bloor. Good staff. Highly recommended.

A family owned local taco/burrito shop that can't be beat! I've been a customer for a decade and I always go back with their mouth-watering burritos and delicious spicy sides!

Great food, phenomenal staff, all around excellent! Popped in after a boxing training session today to get some food and the did not disappoint. Thank you so much for a fantastic meal and being so welcoming!

I wish I could rate this higher. I really wanted it to be good. Tacos are bland. Carnitas was undercooked, fat not rendered and pork not well slow cooked. Carne burrito had a strange fake smoky flavour, the rice was over salty. Quite disappointing. The chicken soup was good though.

Wow! I usually don’t order hard shell tacos. But the hard shell steak tacos are on point. Even when they’re busy the service is quick and efficient. My

Tacos El Asador makes me proud to be Latinx. They encompass latin culture beautifully through their food both authentic and new age. The staff reminds me so much of my family and the decor always bring a tear to my eye. I adore coming to the restaurant one of the best tacos in the city I also heavily recommend their pupusas! ONE IS NEVER ENOUGH! Thank you for being such an extraordinary light into Latinx community in Toronto!

Friendly service and delicious home cooked food. *Edit I was reading some of the reviews and must say the restaurant was most respectful and not racist at all. In fact, they welcomed me even with my mask exemption (no mask). I also waited for my food, and it was worth it.

No flavor and underwhelming. I was really disappointed with the food and lack of flavor.
The man who helped us place the order was phenomenal, service is on point. Although the food is just so bland. Unfortunately I will not be returning, nor do I recommend.

I have been meaning to try birria tacos with all the hype lately but was having trouble finding alternatives to beef. Happy to stumble upon Tacos El Asador. I love the enthusiasm of the staff and happy to check this off my food list. It is definitely something worth trying and I know I’ll be craving it again. I’ll be back, next time hoping to try it with hard tacos.

Pupusas are yummy, but I would order from here more if they were less expensive. Server brightens the mood. Restaurant is clean and interestingly decorated. Location is nice for a walk. Can't wait to eat in-store again when restrictions lift. Food is a tad better in-house.

Best tacos in town! Goat taco with sauce was nothing but amazing.definately worth 20 dollars.too much meat on the portion.very satisfying meal

Ignored at the front, didn't ask what we wanted in our burrito and put a bunch of things in a bag on the side. Also dripping wet. Don't go hear for a burrito. Not wearing any masks unless in front of you.

The “crispy taco” and just an Old El Paso taco shell.

The pastor was dry and bland. The shrimp taco tasted funky. The goat birria was decent. And the chorizo taco tasted very off, and was very dry and old tasting.

The cheese pupusa was the only good thing. The chicharron pupusa was horrible. The meat tasted bland and a bit rotten.

The food is terrible.

On any spontaneous evening, this taco shop is a definite win. The service is fast and friendly, the decor and vibe is on par with a bar and the food is quite delicious (if you know what you’re getting yourself into). Surprisingly good meal and very well packaged for on the run. Critiques; more descriptive menu and cheaper pupusas. Overall, was quite impressed with my experience at Tacos El Asador. Will definitely go again.

Had the chicken enchilada, was fantastic! Best Mexican food I've had in Toronto at a reasonable price. Along with a bottle of Sol, a perfect Friday night. Fun atmosphere, nice staff.

The best tacos and other Mexican food in town. The staff are amazing and super lovely, these people really deserve an extra tip. Food is always fresh and unbelievably delicious, dont skip out on this authentic taste of Mexico!

Has been a favorite for a long long time, since they were in their small local across the street. The food is just has tasty but the wait tempers the experience. Feels like they haven't totally figured out how to grow into their space although it's been a while now.

The owner is very friendly and makes sure I have someone to talk to when I to there to eat alone. Papusas are awesome. They only take cash but there's an ATM on site so it's not a problem. I think I saw them on Skip the Dishes and/or Uber Eats, too. They're sometimes a bit packed, but thats standard Toronto, after all!

Delicious simple menu with daily specials and a casual vibe. Sometimes people get confused at the entrance but just grab a seat if it's open or chill near the door until a space opens up. Usually busy but with quick turnover. Always a great meal, can't go wrong. Fast takeout and cash only.

If you are looking to get a taste of Mexico, but can't leave the city, Tacos El Asador should be your next stop.

They have a variety of tacos, soft and crunchy, as well and fairly large burritos. I got myself a carnitas burrito and was quite happy with the size and flavor. Always good.

Their hot sauces are fantastic as well and I'd highly suggest using them. They are not all spicy, but they add a nice dimension to your meal.

Food was not bad, the flavours need a little more spice - however, it seems to be a nice little family run restaurant. The prices are mind blowing for a location in Toronto. Worth a shot if you are craving Mexican close to bloor west village.

Authentic, excellent food. Probably the best burrito I've had in the city. The home made chips were good too. They shoud bottle the red hot sauce and sell it.

Seriously delicious tacos. This place is small inside and cash only, and even if there's a wait, it's worth it! The service is so friendly and genuine. I'm still thinking about these tacos weeks later!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The owner is the most friendly and welcoming person you'll meet, and will make you feel right at home. The food is to die for; authentic, and very reasonably priced. This place will win you over and you'll find yourself returning again and again.

You can make the vegetarian tacos into vegan tacos by asking for no dairy/milk/cheese! They will also give you extra limes if you ask.

Good food, the rates are not bad. Not everything on menu is stellar (vegetarians tacos so-so) but many options to choose from for reasonable prices

Food is not good. It is expensive and little portions. Pupusas are really small and tasteless. If you want traditional Central American food go to another place. Trust me.

Without a doubt Toronto's hottest Salvadorian/Mexican fusian. I don't even know if that's a thing. Maybe it's pure Salvadorian. Here's what I do know: the goat, shrimp and fish tacos are insane, and the soups are sublime. Tamales are delicious, and the apps (guac, salsas and so on) are not timid but not too much. The owner is one of the friendliest folks I know, always kind to me and my family, and went out of the way when I mentioned I was there with some friends from out of town. Go. Here. Now. Get food, be happy.

I'm a burrito man, and I judge them mostly on density. I can't stand those rice and lettuce-filled pita-style suburban burritos every big chain serves. I want my burrito to be solid, heavy and dense, and the burritos at El Asador feel like holding a chubby infant. They're soft but substantial. Meaty, that's the word! They are very good.

The Tacos are also quite enjoyable.

Ordered the al pastor tacos. They were OK. Not the best, but not the worst. Perhaps other items on the menu would have been better. I'd like to try the crispy tacos next time.

I hadn't been here since it used to be more of a take out joint with limited seating. Now, it is a restaurant with full table service.

One medium size taco is about $4. If you are dying for a pibil or carnitas taco or a tostada, it is worth it. Vegetarian tacos, / tostadas are $3 but need avocado instead of crem/ cheese to make them vegan. Salsa could be in the hot side. I do not think they have the plate with 3 tacos, rice and salad, but that one goes for $18 at other places. Still lots of people seem to enjoy their meal.
