Tak Fu Dim Sum Emperor

I tried their fried rice noodles, which were absolutely delicious! However, the mushroom meat & rice and the steamed sweet & creamy bun were just average, nothing extraordinary.

I also ordered jasmine tea, which was good, but I was a bit surprised to find out it had a $2 charge that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated upfront.

Small dishes start at $3.99 and goes up from there. There may only be a few small size dishes, but still so worth it.

Service was great as one of the waitresses made some small talk with us in canto, which was greatly appreciated. You don’t get that from other Chinese restos, especially as a walk in who don’t know the staff

Lots of ample parking, and went in on a Wednesday and no line up at 11: 30am.

Definitely recommend checking out this spot.

Highly recommended! Probably the best dim sum I have ever tried in Toronto. Must order the lava egg yolk bun. Fair price with authentic Chinese dim sum. Surely will re-visit!

Lowkey dim sum spot - definitely worth a try if you’re in the area! All dishes were fresh - the Siu Mai (steamed pork dumpling) is topped with a whole shrimp, and their deep fried squid tentacles are fried without the batter so you can really taste the juiciness of the squid

The menu isn’t as extensive compared to most dim sum places but they still have most of the classics (they don’t have egg tarts on the menu which I was quite disappointed about)

Great yumcha / dimsum spot in Scarborough that isn’t so busy or a banquet hall style. The food is seasoned well (not too salty, greasy or sweet). A bit pricier compared to other spots but quality and flavour are worth it!

A very nice little shop, the food is freshly made, very fresh and delicious! The dishes recommended by the waiter are very good. Although the shop is small, it is very clean.

An excellent hole in the wall dim sum place located in a commerical sort of district which explains the early closing time. My family was in the area and passed by, ordering quite the feast of tasty delectables. I had ordered based on prior reviews, deep fried shrimp dumpling, pork and mushroom and bamboo shoot dumpling, as well as pork with peanuts dumpling. For dessert, I tried the taro cream bun. Overall, it was probably the best dim sum i've ever had, especially since i am usually not a fan of shrimp, their shrimp dumpling was very tasty. My two other favourites were pork with peanut dumpling which contained a lot of peanuts and the creamy taro cream bun which made a heavenly dessert. I highly recommend coming before noon to avoid the crowd.

A small authentic Dim Sum place in north Scarborough. They hand make their dim sum. We tried 7 different dishes and they were all good. Our server was very nice and speedy. The dim was steamed fresh. There was a couple of dishes I have not seen or heard of and surprised of how good they were. I highly recommend sticky rice with preserved meat bun. Steamed dumpling with pork, mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Steamed dumpling with pork and peanut. This will be a go to place!

Some pretty bad dim sum. The prices seem to be on par with most dim sum places in the area, but the quality is leaps and bounds below what I would expect. In the cheung fen that we ordered there was very little meat even in the center pieces. The steam pork ribs were almost 80% fat which made them extremely difficult to eat, the parts that weren't fat were basically just bones. The only dish that was passable was the congee, but even then the meat tasted a bit old. The tea that we were served was also very bitter with little flavour. When I opened the pot to look at the leaves they seemed to be low quality tea dredges, very disappointing for morning tea/dim sum

The service also left a lot to be desired. I usually don't hold the service against a mom and pop dim sum place but the level was ridiculous. We were ignored about three times when asking for the bill, and 3 other times when we asked them to cut the food for us (a common service for most morning tea/dim sum). They gave us scissors to do it ourselves which were comically small scissors that did not work well. We had to hail people at least 2-3 times when we needed anything which was just frustrating.

Fantastic! Very fresh food expertly prepared. Service exceptional. Hard to find as sign is small but well worth the visit.

This is a really good dimsum place. I rate this a 4.5 stars relative to other dimsum places in the area. We ordered a good amount for our party and the food comes out quick enough.

The food that we ordered were all delicious and some we ordered for another round including the fried squid tentacles and deep fried shrimp dumpling which was large. Others we ordered were tasty also like pork steamed bun, pork ribs, siumai, pork sti ky rice and chicken feet.

However, other places do not charge for tea and it looks like they did here. The prices were typical. The servers were alright.

Great place, its a small Dim Sum place, but the food was excellent. Really well done. We saw a lot of regulars when we came in the afternoon which is already a good sign that the food was good.

The Dim Sum is really well done and a cut above the other restaurants in the same area. The price for the food is reasonable because the quality of the Dim Sum was super.

We will come again.

This place is busy/popular, but it didn't take too long to be seated (3ppl), The staff is very friendly even though we didn't speak the same language. The food was very good, fast service and the traditional Dim Sum servings and style, I left happy and full! I would go back!

Kind of dated, hole in the wall place in an older shopping arcade. The place had the aroma of an old HK dim sum restaurant which was a good thing. Only locals where dining in so I know this had to be pretty good, and it turned out to be one of the best dim sum places I've been to outside of HK. Highly recommend anything with shrimp as their shrimp dishes are really good.

The waiter does not let us go until we pay 10% tips for the bill, so anergy what they did. Giving tips should be the right of the customer not the responsibility of customer.since they don’t allowed us to pay by card, I am not satisfied with the situation. Will never come back.

Unassuming little shop. But the dim sum tastes good. Also fresh. Also hot. A popular Guangdong morning tea shop. Recommend everyone to consume

I'm quite disappointed. Visited in December my review was 4 stars for the quality and price of dimsum. Now, this 1 star is due to the fact that they insisted I pay a minimum 10% tips in cash when the total was $66 and I just give them $70 cash. The two waiters did not let me leave. First, PAY YOUR WORKERS A DECENT WAGE! Forcing tips is NOT how you depend on to live. The fact that our exit was blocked by three more waiters at the door implying that we didn't have enough to pay for the meal. If you had accepted credit card I would have given you whatever, just because I don't carry coins anymore doesnt mean I haven't paid my meal. In the end I gave them three pennies and said I don't have coins and you don't accept cards so beat it. On top of this, the service was also slow that the food arrive 25min after ordering and everything was a mess. The waiters didn't even understand basic English and Cantonese when we asked for the tea and the bill. You live and work in Canada. Treating customers like this will lose you loyalty and this is exactly why we won't come back despite being impressed the first 10 times.

We went there for dim sum and find the food was average. We ordered the chicken feet with special sauce and did not like it at all. The "special sauce" has a very strong smell - like some kind of medicine. We ordered the casserole rice to go and it was like normal rice with barely any meat, and no vegetables.

They may have a small area where customers eat, but the food is really good and price is reasonable. Since there were only 2 of us, we were asked to share the table with a family, which we do not mind at all. We have tried their siomai, buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf, shrimp ones and all were served quickly. You may want to bring cash to pay for your bill.

We will surely come back again.

Came with seven family members on January 3,2023 and it was fantastic. We made a reservation for 12 noon and it was a good thing we did because the place was packed. Even with all the people in there we had great service from the three women who worked the front of the house. The food was delicious. Fresh and tasty. We ordered way too much but took a lot home. I hope to be back soon.
