Tangerine Asian Cuisine

We come here for lunch sometimes and order dinner once in a while. The food is good, with lots of flavour. Portions are massive, and pricing is very reasonable. Alex at Tangerine is really helpful and super pleasant. The service is great as well. They are always courteous and smiling. Highly recommend the Bombay chicken and Hakka noodles. Definitely recommend! Don’t forget to follow me!

I am so glad that there is a hakka restaurant in this area! Ordered the lunch specials and both the Chili chicken and crispy beef were pretty good, lots of sauce. They are generous on the meat too. Great customer service by a waitress.

We got to the restaurant at 8pm (1.5 hours before closing time) and were greeted with a rude employee rushing us to order as the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes. The menus were tossed on our table, and we were not given any time to decide what we would like to order. While we were in the middle of our meal, the takeout containers were tossed on our table, and we were asked to pay before finishing the meal. The staff behaved very unprofessionally, and made a racist remark as well. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Was told 20-25 minutes. We got there in time and wait another 15-20 minutes. Fine, not too bad.
I ordered hot and sour soup, and fried fish.
This has been the most bland hot and sour soup I've had yet. Not sure how this miracle was achieved.

The fish tasted great! But seeing as I had to wait for an incomplete order, I expected it to be crispy. However it was very soggy.
Kinda pricey for taste and portions.
You can find better Hakka in the area.

This is the 2nd location of tangerine that I've visited. The food wasn't near the same level as the one I've visited before. It's a 4 star because the lady working there was wonderful otherwise it's a 3star

I had a frustrating experience with this restaurant's customer service. When I called to modify my order, the person taking my call was rude. To make matters worse, upon picking up the order, the chicken wings were missing. When I called to address the issue, the same person displayed an unapologetic attitude and even hung up the phone. This lack of accountability and poor communication left me extremely disappointed. DONT get the shrimp cantonese chow meng wasn't good!

Food and service both are excellent. We always go to Tangerine restaurant when we feel like eating hakka Chinese food. Highly recommend it!

My family and I are regulars at Tangerine, and we love their Indian Hakka food, especially because they cater to our vegetarian diet. It was strange to read so many negative reviews. Every time we've eaten here, our experience has been good, including today. We had the veg hakka noodles, veg fried rice, machurian veg balls, and the manchow and sweet corn soups. The quantity is great for the price and the service is fast. The servers are very friendly and even offer suggestions according to our preferences. I would recommend this place for amazing indian hakka food!

Cynthia was a wonderful server! Food was delicious, and the hakka tastes as it did back in india. I love hakka cuisine, definitely worth a try.

Truly some foul food. I have no idea how it still operates.

Beef is uneatable. Chicken orders are full of whatever gross sauce you order, and the chicken itself is low quality mystery meat. Prices are unreasonably high. I always get angry at myself for giving them more chances. I just hold out hope that they will change. This town deserves a better Chinese restaurant.

Ordered take out asked no spice on couple items, even noted on the receipt and they gave me the spiciest pad thai i have ever tasted. It was too spicy that i only had couple bites and dumped it. Not the first terrible experience, ordered through uber eats a few weeks back and I threw up shortly after i ate the food. Never ordering from there again.

Ordered beef with ginger and scallion, not porridge soup. But this arrived. Staff was rude and said that’s how it comes and I should know. (No pics on the menu portraying it) No accommodations were offered at all. I’ve been a loyal customer since the day they opened this location and I thought I’d be shown more grace. What’s supposed to be in “sauce” comes in a soup. Disappointed to say the least, I won’t be coming back again.

The food is okay but the staff is really mean and cold for no reason. I feel bad for them honestly. I hope they can find work that makes them happy. Also the place smells bad but the food still tastes good. Probably won’t be coming back.

Worse service I have ever received. Went online to their menu, and choose a dinner for 3 which showed online 40$, when I called th3 restaurant to order, they told me my order was 70 dollars, I said that the website states 40 dollars, they explained they didn't put prices up online and that they would not honor the online prices. Finally after paying for the food, I couldn't even get plates or utensils. Worse customer service ever. Will never go back. Super rude and mean

So my wife ordered dishes this evening. She asked for 1 dish to have gravy and veg balls packed in different containers. When I picked up food I “specifically” asked if gravy and veg balls were separate. The younger lady looked me in the eye and said yes. And quickly asked to pay the bill. I did and moved to the next table to check my order. To my surprise I saw the veg balls and gravy were in one container. I politely asked her that this is not what we had asked for and specifically want the two separate else our kids don’t enjoy their meal. She looked at me and said sure it is packed separate. It’s in a separate bag for you to carry out and the rest of order is in a different bag. I thought I misheard and asked again that we had asked for the gravy and veg balls to be packed in separate containers. She again looked at me and said yes your wife was confused at first and then she had called back and asked for a separate packing in a bag. Packing gravy and veg balls in different containers costs extra. I looked at her at this point in disbelief and said ok. I will pay more make me another one and pack them separately. She looked at me for 5 secs and said NO this is already made and you can call your wife to check what she ordered. I told her again. I know what she ordered but she wouldn’t budge. At that point an older grandma lady came and said yes yes your wife ordered what we made. How can two of them have been on the same call.

Regardless of the lack of decency or customer service. I decided to take the meal home thinking if I push them to make the food again I’m not sure I will want to eat it give these gals are already mad. I took the food home and surprise surprise it was inedible. There were no vegetables in veg balls. Mostly corn starch and other fillers. I won’t feed it to my dog.

It’s in the garbage bin. Not edible. Never going back to this place ever.

Horrible service. Horrible staff. Horrible attitude. I expected them to say sorry sir we will make you a new batch and I was prepared to pay for it.

Zero customer service.

Horrible food at an exuberant price, not to mention the chicken still had hair on it, garbage.

I wrote this review 4 months ago but today I have to change their rating. We showed up at 8: 02 pm, got a table and sat down. Less than a minute, a server came with a grumpy face threw the two menus on our table and said you need to be hurry, we are closing in 30 minutes and walked away. His behaviour left us speechless. We got up threw the menus back on another table and walked out.

We are one of their regular customers and this was extremely unpleasant. We will not support this type of service/behaviour. They need to treat customers with respect.

4 months ago - The best Hakka restaurant in Richmond Hill! Spicy and Delicious Chinese and Indian fusion dishes. I highly recommend ginger beef, lollipops chicken, chicken pakora, Manchurian soup, and chilli chicken on rice!

THIS USED TO BE MY FAVORITE LOCAL HAKKA RESTAURANT back in 2008-2012. The owner must have changed or they just simply do not care anymore. This is the second time they served me the most dry disgusting inedible chicken pakora. Second time I had to throw out the entire box. It was mostly breading and old leftover stale chicken. It's unacceptable you expect humans to eat this and not know any better. I WOULDN'T FEED THIS DRY OLD MEAT TO MY DOG LET ALONE A HUMAN BEING. You lost a loyal customer of 15 years. That was your last chance. I am disgusted at the people who were fed bugs inside their food. If you do not care anymore about the business just shut down but stop food poisoning the community.
