Got take out several times and got sick a day after eating it. This happened on two occasions. At first I thought it could have been something else, but the second time revealed this take out place was the cause. Never again!
It was not just me, others in my family got sick too. I am surprised I don't see more reviews in here like this.
I hate to give 1 star reviews and always want to support small businesses, but this is absolutely unacceptable.
Today I tried the Christmas platter from taste of malayalees. It was more than enough for 4 persons, specially chicken roast was amazing. I also tried the beef coconut fry and biriyani. Both are too good. Service was excellent. They did an exceptional role in handling the busy hours.
This is the one of the best place to get authentic Kerala food. They are offering only take away services. They are selling food on reasonable rate compared to other competitors.
Good takeout options for students/people who are short of time to cook. Their Kerala sambar is best in tinsel town. All customer service people are humble and nice!
Quality of food has come down. Got a Dosa which was very sour. I ordered for a paper dosa, but was given normal dosa. I brought 4 vada's for each $1.common, thats very pricey even with the increased cost. You get better Vada in Saravana Bhavan and Annalakshmi for lesser price. Recommendation: price and quality needs to be relooked. Maybe you can increase price with increased quality.but for the current quality, its too too pricey.
The taste and quantity of food was so great. I bought a tray of mutton biriyani for my son’s birthday which they told enough for 15-16 ppl but actually it was enough for 25 ppl. And the best thing was the price for a full tray mutton biriyani was only 170$. I will recommend this place for my all frnds for small party order.
I ordered food from Taste of Malayalees for my daughter’s 1st birthday party and I was very impressed by their delivery and food quality. They delivered the food on time, packed everything securely, and provided all the necessary utensils. The food was delicious, fresh, and authentic. They had a variety of dishes to suit everyone’s taste buds, such as chicken 65, fish pakora, onion vada, appam, beef stew, veg pulao, chicken roast, Gobi Manchurian, veg korma, and fruit salad. The guests loved the food and complimented me on my choice of delivery service. The quantity of the food was very generous, and the pricing was affordable. It was totally worth it! I also want to give a special thanks to Chef Jayesh Chetan for his amazing culinary skills. He made the food look and taste fantastic! I would highly recommend Taste of Malayalees to anyone looking for a convenient and tasty delivered food service for any occasion. They made my daughter’s 1st birthday party a memorable and enjoyable one. Thank you, Taste of Malayalees! You are the best!
The vishu and onam sadya food was exceptional. I have also enjoyed their parottas and snacks. The curries are on the spicier side. Service is friendly and the kokkaden achappams are simply phenomenal. I could eat a hundred of them.
The food is same as Kerala curry house (I believe it’s prepared at the same kitchen) Very fast service. I prefer ordering take out from here rather than waiting at the busy Kerala curry house. Good food
We bought a few grocery items from this place just because we visited the place out of curiosity. Compared with two other Malayalee outfits and a north Indian shop, Thanima is far more expensive. Let me give one example. A 200 GMA pack of plantain chips cost $4: 00 at Thanima. The same manufacturer’s chips of the very same weight costs $2.99 in Malayalee Shop A and $2.49 in Malayalee shop B, and $3.49 in the North Indian shop. I would call this greedy pricing!
This review is only for the Vishu Special sadhya take out I purchased on April 15,2023. Otherwise I have been an avid shopper at Taste Of Malayalees and have felt almost all of their dishes "feel like home". On the said day I purchased 3 take out sadhyas. Somehow I felt the Vishu Sadhya was a thattikkootu and to pin point a few salient points that could be corrected: The 'matta' rice was less than half cooked thus choking every "urula" I took. Next was parippu that felt like boiled moong dal without any spice or coconut flavour. The merchant was kind enough to load the order with beetroot pachadi and parippu and conveniently giving less quantity of sambar, avial. The olan looked a suspension of van payaru and coconut milk. The long beans upperi was half cooked and devoid of any salt. All this for $ 18.99 plus tax. I could go on and on but shall cut shot with my resolution. NO MORE TAKE OUT SADHYAS in future. If anyone who purchased the vishu sadhya on April 15,2023 tag along.
They tried to give a canceled order of 3 pazhamporis when i asked for a single one. They only said it at the time of payment that it is coming like that as three where i came to know that its an uber order.
Moreover it was 4$ for the three and even told me that i cannot cancel my order when i wasnt ready to pay.
