It’s my birthday and this was my first choice of restaurants to eat at. The food at Taste of Thailand was delicious! We loved the crab Rangoon especially. We ordered their platter, pad Thai, and mango dessert & received shrimp chip on the house! A meal costs between $20-30 but feeds at least 4 meals! I would highly recommend ordering from here!
I’ve been living in hotels around the Toronto airport for the past three months and have tried almost every Thai place that delivers on skip. Saving you the research - this place is just the best! They make such delicious, fresh food. I love their pad Thai & pad see ewe. Doesn’t matter what you get here, it’ll be delicious. Can’t recommend enough!
This is the best Thai restaurant in Ontario! Been coming to this restaurant since 2013 and it’s delicious every single time. Everything you order is delicious. All of the curries are delicious. The basil fried rice is to die for and my favourite appetizer is the crab Rangoon. Trust me you won’t regret it!
Was above average experience. Food came was good but smaller portions then what I had heard. Came on recommendation and will return. Staff friendly and overall.
Very nice cosy restaurant. The food was very good and they have a very wide menu to choose from. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would come back here again. Parking can be a bit of an issue in the evenings as it gets very busy! Loved the massaman curry and desserts were amazing!
One of the best places for Thai food! Hands down! Very highly recommend!
The service was fast and staff is very friendly. Loved the soups! Definitely try the coconut soup (Tom Kha) with chicken, it’s sweet but with a touch of lime! Sooooo good!
We also ordered Pad Kee Maou (basil noodles) with beef, noodles were so soft and delicious! Beef was tender, juicy and so yummy! Everything tasted fresh and tasty.
It was my first time trying Thai food and I had a wonderfully experience. The service was very nice and the ambiance at the restaurant is very relaxing and welcoming. All our food was rich in flavour and very fulfilling. The portions are big and it is a very good price. Our server was very quick and friendly, gave us good recommendations for tea and made sure we were completely taken care of
We had a very nice experience to dine in this restaurant and everything was just amazing. The restaurant has very nice interiors and is definitely a place where you can enjoy a family or friends dinner.
I love Taste of Thailand. It is our go to when ordering locally. We just ordered it over the weekend and every dish was delicious! It was a big order with rice, curries, 2 types of noodles. The green and red curries were so full of flavour and went well with the coconut rice and my favourite noodles are the Pad See Ew. Highly recommend ordering from here.
The food was great and so was the customer service. The owner is super nice and forthcoming. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try authentic Thai food (they have Canadian and Thai variants of same dish, which is something i found really cool).
December, 2022 update: upgrading it to 5 star based on how great my 2nd visit was.
Food came out quickly. Prawn Crackers with peanut sauce dip was very nice. Mango Salad was delicious. Had the Pad Thai which for me was ok, however, the Green Curry with Coconut rice was awesome
This once excellent Thai restaurant really disappointed on our last visit. The Crab Rangoon was great and the Green Curry Chicken my daughter had was good. Unfortunately, the Spicy Noodle Chicken served to my husband husband was runny and full of globs of chewy rice flour (so we were told) which was unappetizing to look at let alone eat. When it was brought to the attention of the server the dish was removed, but the napkin which held a few of those globs remained on the table until we left. The vegetables in my Cashew Nut Chicken dish were so crisp they were actually not warm, althought the chicken was properly cooked. Sadly the taste of this dish which I have come to love over the last 15 plus years was bland and not seasoned. Unfortunately, the service staff did not come by to ask if our meals were good.
So, I am saddened that my favourite Thai restaurant is no more.
This place had a delicious flavorful and authentic taste of Thai food. We tried some spicy beef and some curry chicken and both had excellent flavor and levels of spice.
I would warn those who dare to try Thai spicy it would be very hot as the hot spicy was hot for me.
The shrimp fresh rolls are very fresh and full of lots of veggies.
Delivery came in 25 minutes all the food was still warm and we were quite happy!
Excellent service, tasty food. Lunch specials offer a solid bang-for-your-buck. Coconut rice is a personal favourite for its slight sweetness that goes amazingly with any of the curries!
This restaurant had been our favourite up to now. Unfortunately today, I was hoping for a great end-of-summer family dinner until my son was stung by a wasp inside the restaurant. The staff did not seem to be alarmed about the incident. There were a couple of dead wasps wrapped in spider webs by the window.
Pumpkin soup tasted like baby food - sweet puree. Couldn't trace any taste of Thai spices/herbs which were advertised on the menu. Papaya salad had too much of a sugary taste and not enough lime.
Mussaman curry - tasted stale and was cold even though I was on time and got it to the table fast. No spice whatsoever; I mean that may have been expected based on the menu, but there was literally zero pepper of any kind in there.
Shrimp chips - strong fishy taste.
Mango salad - consisted almost entirely of unripe mango.
Coconut shrimp - that was probably the least bad part of the order, but even these were kind of dry and lukewarm.
It wasn't busy at all, so my guess is the food I was given had been sitting there for a while. Won't be back.
Saw the restaurant while driving by, and opted for quick take-out.
I got the recommended green curry (veggies/tofu) on noodles and I was not disappointed! Great flavour, lots of veggies and bamboo. Really appreciated that I could get it with rice noodles.
I had the peanut chicken, it was one of the best I've ever had. The staff were extremely helpful as well as super friendly. This is going to be a place we gock to often.
I've tried 3 different Thai Currys at this location and they all taste really good. Amazing flavors. I got them with the chicken. Definitely on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.
I also tried the coconut rice which was a first for me. I can safely say that it's the tastiest rice I've ever had. I wish they gave a bigger portion for the price.
Excellent service, tasty food. Lunch specials offer a solid bang-for-your-buck. Coconut rice is a personal favourite for its alight sweetness that goes amazingly with any of the curries!
I went to this restaurant for lunch with my wife and had a great time. Great food presentation, amazing taste and friendly service! Definitely will go back.
My wife and I went there last night for dinner now that the mask mandates are gone. We ordered 1 order of each of the following, wonton soup, crispy wontons, springrolls, rice with chicken and glass noodles with chicken. We shared everything (would have been nice if there were and even number of spring rolls). The food was all very tasty. We had way more food than we needed. There was lots of chicken in both dishes. The soup had about 8 wontons and lots of vegetables in it, more than enough soup for the two of us. We took home the leftovers. Price is not cheap, but I believe there was value there as quantities and taste were quite sufficient.
Food was decent, but they are VERY stingy. Paid full price for a shrimp red curry, and there was only 1 Shrimp in the entire meal. ONE DAMN Shrimp. Seriously? And you're charging people full price? That is ridiculous. If you're going to charge full price, please don't be stingy and give other people more shrimp. Thanks.
Taste of Thailand is my favourite Thai spot in the city for the past 6 years. Despite moving to a different side of the city last year, I continue to make the trip here to grab some take out. Their crispy spring rolls in my opinion are the best in the city and I love the Pad Thai and the Peanut Curry dishes.
Really good authentic Thai food. Very flavouful! I would of gave it 5 stars but for the price you pay, You should have enough quantity. I had purchased shrimp pad Thai and only received very few shrimp to my order. Kinda of annoyed considering it was close to 20 bucks. Other than that. The food is made very delicious but there's no reason to skimp out on meat and veggies.
Somehow we were in the neighbourhood and hungry, landed here and such a got to place for Thai cravings. Food was excellent and I would recommend this place definitely.
Been ordering here for years. It's delicious and consistent. Nice cash discount. Love the panang curry, sticky rice, mango salad. I think it's averagely-priced compared to other Thai places.
Ordered Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Satay, Basil Chicken with Fried Egg and Red Curry with sticky rice for take away. All the items were fresh and tasty. Chicken satay was marinated mild spices and it tasted good with peanut sauce. The Red curry with sticky rice was the standout.
Worst Thai restaurant in the area. We ordered a tom yun soup + shrimp pad Thai & basil chicken fried rice. However, the shrimp and chicken were uncooked. When we call to complain, we got the run around from a woman who was trying to convince us that it was our fault and we should have told them that we wanted the shrimp and the chicken well done. No apologies whatsoever. When we advised her that we will not order from them again, she said ‘that’s fine’ and hung up.
Ordered several dishes 2 of which were golden curry. They always come with steamed rice when we eat in the restaurant otherwise you are basically eating curry soup. They didn't give it to us with the delivery and said something about it being a special and we're out of luck. Poor customer service.
Fine dining experience. The food was fresh and the taste was good too, tried Thai food for the first time. The server was very generous, she made our experience impeccable. Will surely be back.
I have tried their Veg and Tofu golden Thai curry few times. I love the curry. It has a perfect balance of coconut, spices and veggies. Curry goes really well with coconut rice.
Coconut rice is sweet, but the sweetness is not consistent and tastes sweeter at the top.
Consistently delicious even if on the slightly pricey side. Pick up and pay cash and you get a discount. Highly recommend all of the noodle dishes but the curry pad thai with chicken is my favourite! Fresh and a nice serving size, have some for lunch the next day!
Hands down worst thai food I've had in Toronto. Both the pad thai (photo attached) and pad see ew (I believe they call it "soya noodles") were so overcooked the noodles were mush. The pad thai was also insanely sweet and had a ton of filler carrot strings in it. The green curry tasted like green curry but no depth of flavour, very thin/watery broth and had a ton of random big vegetable non-traditional chunks in it. Won't be coming back.
If you like authentic Thai food (ex. Khaosan Road, Pai, Sabai Sabai, Eat BKK Thai Kitchen) stay far away from this spot. First time I've ever I've actually thrown out take-out.
One of our favourite restaurants of all time. Everything we’ve had from here is amazing. Spring rolls, the I just can’t decide platter, curry pad thai, Panang curry, Green curry, mango sticky rice: we’ve never been disappointed. Also very nice people, food’s always ready fast. Highly recommend!
We came here for the first time and we were very satisfied with the selection aswell as the quality. The owner is very kind & humble and this carries over into the food. We even got a free delicious dessert with our order which was a pleasant surprise. Will certainly be back.
Taste of Thailand is my favourite thai restaurant! As tempting as it is to order the pad Thai over and over again, I have explored quite a bit of the menu and pretty much all of the dishes are amazing.from pad Thai to satay you can't really go wrong with this restaurant. They also make hot and sour soup which is my favourite soup to date. I'm a consistent customer.
I’ve been going to this place for years and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend the curry pad Thai and the hot and sour soup. Lunch specials are reasonable priced, great portions and delicious!
Pictured are the basil noodles with chicken, red curry with noodles (and shrimp), garlic sauce with beef, curried pad Thai with chicken.
I like this restaurant very much.there is a very nice atmosphere. The food is great.the service is powerful and the crew is friendly. The cost is modest. I highly recommend.
The homestyle pad thai was brilliant. Andl abundance of flavour and the portion size is huge. Good food at good value. Service was ok, seating was comfortable. Parking in the front is limited, but there is parking in the back. Will definitely go back.
This spot is my favorite. I eat in a lot of restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very chummy and the cuisine they serve is so yummy. I am always happy to have a good dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
I adore this place very much.there is a friendly mood. The cuisine is wonderful.the service is dynamic and the crew is well trained. The cost is modest.profoundly recommend.
The meals and service were beyond my expectations. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. Great restaurant to take my family out for dinner.
I love this place for the curry pad Thai but that wonton soup is such a rip off. Paid two dollars extra for two pieces of shrimp and hardly anything else. I could get the same thing for 5$ but here they charged 14$! Will no longer be ordering from here.
Food is great, just watch they automatically add a tip to your bill when you're in a group. Some of the waitresses don't inform you of that and if you aren't paying attention you'll double tip them.
I absolutely love this place! My favorite place to go for pad thai! From amazing fresh mango salad to savory pumpkin soup. You get a good portion for what you pay for! Always my go to place for yummy Thai!
Best pad Thai in Etobicoke, authentic as it gets, love the crab Rangoon and chicken satay, the mango salad is BOMB, go to taste of Thailand! Also friendly and efficient
My go to for Thai, I either eat here or order in at least once a month. I've never had anything I didn't like and when I'm sick I stuck up on soups. A definite must try!
I went their on my birthday with my family. We requested vegetarian food and ordered Basil Fried rice and couple of curries. Even after explicitly mentioning that we want vegetarian food with no meat, no egg, no fish oil, etc.the Basil Fried rice were made in Oyster oil. They made it again after complaining but they have no courtesy to acknowledge their mistake and say sorry. Even couple of water glasses were stinking so I requested them to change. On top of this they charged for everything with 15% gratuity included in the bill. I am never going back here again and won't recommend the place.
We got take out. The homestyle pad Thai, green curry with sticky rice and Tom yum soup were amazing. Excellent and quick service. Will definitely be returning with the family.
