Temagami Outpost

Not one of the best place, but its the BEST place to visit in Ontario. If you are Canadian or in canada for any reason. This place is something you cant miss. Add it to your list. Very reasonable prices. We went as a group of 8. Travelled from GTA took about 5 hours drive. Once we reach a small town named HAGAR, it will take approximately one hour of drive from there, there will be no cell reception and half of the road will be a dirt road, so take the required equipment/ water etc. I enjoyed having four elements of nature in the same place after visiting. I ahve no words to describe the hospitality we were provided and no rush on kayaking. You will get full freedom in the waters and also they have an amazing sauna. Will keep going back again. We missed it this year. Remember not forgetting to stop by HAGAR’s fish and chips place besides convenience store, its one of a kind. Not sure if its still open.

The OutPost at Temagami was a wonderful escape from the city. We were 3 couples (3 sisters and 3 brothers-in-laws) celebrating the last to turn 60 and the OutPost provided us with an amazing venue to relax, canoe, hike, paint, swim, sauna, play cards, sit around a fire pit and enjoy a “family-style” dinner with other guests. Food was another highlight!

Nico and Leo have their hearts clearly tied to the OutPost and it shows in their staff and the ever improving facilities.

Awesome location in the wilderness with beautifully situated cabins, excellent food and attentive and hospitable staff. We had fantastic day-trips and the Outpost was a perfect place to return to after paddling! Thank you Nico and Leo

This remote outpost offers a short-cut to the wilderness of Temagami. After a day of paddling in pristine lakes it was wonderful to return to the comfort of a delicious meal and cozy above-ground bed. Many thanks to the friendly staff for their attention and great paddling advice!

Our experience with Temagami Outpost was outstanding! From day 1, they went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect long weekend stay. Communication was excellent and hospitality was second to none from owners Nico and Leo and their staff (Mike). Looking forward to returning in the future!

We had an incredible experience staying at the Temagami Outpost! Nico and Leo went out of out way to accommodate us, ensuring that we had everything we needed both for our canoe trip as well as the two nights we stayed at the Outpost. They accommodated all dietary restrictions within our group, including two vegetarians and one gluten allergy. We capped off our canoe trip with an evening pontoon cruise where they prepared an impressive charcuterie board. Our cabins were clean and comfortable, the home-cooked food was beyond delicious and the wood sauna was just what we needed after our+ trip! If you are a fan of frisbee golf get Nico to show you the course.the holes aren't the regular pole and chains but rather a tree stump or cabin door but I ensure you its all part of the charm!

If you want to experience the beautiful wilderness of Temagami, a stay at the Outpost is a must. Be it a longer stay or simply the start and end of your canoe trip, it will not disappoint! I'm already planning when I'll be back next.

Absolutely beautiful outpost in the heart of the Ontario wilderness filled with such great company. Food was great, stay was phenomenal, they never fail to go above and beyond. Our trip was amazing, can’t wait to return!

Nico and Leo have done a great job at bringing this 1900s fishing camp back to life!

My family and I stayed here for the night before leaving on a canoe trip in Temagami and were spared no comfort, including a relaxing sauna when we arrived. A rustic but homey experience with helpful and knowledgeable staff made us feel welcome. Thank you for your hospitality! We will be back in the coming years for a longer stay
