I can’t say enough good things about Ten Fish. The owners here are incredible and treat you like family! Best sushi in Ottawa!

I've had a LOT of ottawa sushi, so I'm coming from a base of experience here and I'll start with the positives and end on the negatives.

I have to say, in the end, it's better than your mega chain choices of sushi kan/168 sushi as far as CHOICES go, they have a very creative menu and if you are vegan or averse-to-raw they've got a delightfully long list of cooked and/or vegan rolls to choose from. They score bonus points for calling me back to confirm my GF requirements as well as providing real Wasabi and real pickled ginger (I imagine it's pickled in house; its still a ginger colour and not hot pink).

But the actual taste of the fish and the rice leaves a little bit to be desired, and of all the new creative rolls I got to try, honestly I still enjoyed my avocado and cucumber roll the best. So if you want to try something really new with sushi, they probably have it, but don't expect to be wowed by the quality. If they used better ingredients, this could easily be one of the top places in Ottawa.

Found this restaurant by accident but will keep coming back. The sushi is a unique experience for the eyes, the taste buds and the soul. Try the lemon shrimp roll or the tempura sweet potato, you won't be disappointed. Great service. Take it home and savour.

I've ordered here many times and have never been disappointed! The rolls are well made and always fresh. The fish tastes excellent and their ingredients are always good (cucumber, avocado etc). I like how the menu is a bit different which allows me to try new sushi options, but at the same time I wish it included more regular rolls from other sushi restaurants (ex dragon rolls). The food quality is always there whether you do pick up or delivery. The staff are very friendly and helpful when you pick up.

Fantastic sushi! Always fresh, made with care and perfect avocados. Truly a magical experience every time. If you're in the area you couldn't choose better.

It doesn't taste good and it looks dull.

I drive all the way from Carleton Place for their sushi. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the rolls always seem to turn out as a work of art! I very much appreciate the customer service, they are always so friendly and courteous. Thanks for many delicious meals!

Fairly good sushi - good rolls and they don't chince on the quantity of fish on the nigiri. I would probably rank this place second in Ottawa next to kinko, but still suffers the problems of Ottawa sushi, being overpriced and less fish then say sushi in Toronto or Vancouver. And like all Ottawa sushi could do better in the rice to fish to ratio. Very Covid safe set up for take out.

Absolutely incredible sushi! Highly recommend the Veggie Futomaki roll. They were so friendly when we went to pick it up and the quality is just amazing!

Fabulous small sushi spot! Seems to be family owned, and that shows. Great sushi, nice and fresh.

Really good sushi at this place. My favorite is the Chef's Choice as it comes with 1 random roll and five nigiri which are always very high quality. The wait time is a little long at times but other than that I highly recommend this place.

Great sushi and rolls right here in Okd Ottawa South. And this is better than those chain places, which have their place in a food market. By here you’ll find friendly service and highly quality fish with generous sashimi fish portions with each piece.

All negative reviews for this restaurant are made by people who never patronized the business but instead ordered through an intermediary.this 5 star is just to help balance the reviews from disengenuous yuppies.

Below average sushi, in my opinion. We may have caught them on a bad or busy night, but had to wait an extra 10-15 min from my scheduled pick up time.
Regarding the sushi, we were simply unimpressed with the rolls and the quality of fish. They didn’t have tuna belly when I was there to pick up so they asked if albacore was fine; I said yes not knowing any better (this was for my spouse) but there is a price difference between the two types which was not reflected on my bill. The soy sauce was super salty; felt like my mouth was burning type of salty.
We’ve both eaten much better sushi and we wouldn’t order from here again.

I do appreciate that they have the option to select no chopsticks/ extra ginger and wasabi as we have chopsticks at home and my spouse loves extras of both those things.

Really great rolls. Sashimi was fresh, melt in your mouth. Exceptional service even made items that were not on the menu. Worth the price.

We LOVED Ten Fish when we order from them the first time. It was absolutely delicious, but we were missing items and it was well past the estimated delivery time (food was still being prepped at the time it was to be delivered). We decided to give them another chance as mistakes happen, and the second time was great. Third time, however, we were extremely displeased. My boyfriend is vegan and ordered strictly from the vegan options. His rolls arrived with fish eggs all over them. Due to my allergies, the rolls needed to be discarded. It was sad to put all that food into the trash. In total, 2 full rolls were thrown out. Thankfully DoorDash refunded the $20 for two rolls. Please be weary if you have food allergies, intolerances or limited diets and always double check your order before eating. We will not be ordering from TenFish again.

My boyfriend and I always are so excited to order from Ten Fish because they have a whole vegan menu with many more options than what your average sushi restaurant offers in terms of veggie rolls. The owner always greets us with a warm smile and has never gotten our order wrong. Thank you for the delicious vegan sushi!

Delicious sushi but wish they would package the vegan sushi separately from the fish sushi. Was disappointed when it arrived tonight and half of my rolls were covered in tuna meaning I couldn’t eat them.

It was interesting. I asked for 6 salmon sushi and they brought out 4 roasted chicken feet. Delicious though!

3 stars because my wife was allergic to the the bone marrow of the foot and we really didn’t ask for chicken feet!

Just ordered take out and my goodness it was delicious. Their vegan rolls are incredible! Veggie cream cheese was a favourite too. Will definitely be frequenting!

Very small place (seating for about 8 people) with delicious food and super friendly staff.

Second time here I was going to take a photo of the rolls for the review, but we ate them too fast to get a picture. Would definitely recommend this place.

Delicious sushi and very good quality. Couple that work there very nice and friendly. Way better than a lot of places in the city. You can not compete this to all you can eat sushi. Highly recommend

This is a regular stop for us and we are so happy to have found it in one of our favourite neighbourhoods. The rolls are simple and creative, but not overly heavy with too much sauce and tempura like you often get at larger restaurants or AYCE places. Offerings are very balanced.

I appreciate that you can specify whether you need chopsticks since much of their business is take out and many people have reusable ones at home.

The sushi is fresh and tasty, soy sauce is inexplicably extra delicious, and the couple that owns the business is wonderful and always so friendly. Thanks for being consistently yummy!

Been twice now and both times had amazing food! The combos are a great price, I got the Spice Spice combo and the variety in it was amazing. It's a small restaurant but the atmosphere is great and the staff are extremely nice. Some of the best Sushi I've had in Ottawa and will definitely be coming back often.

I had the butter-fish nigiri, seafood tempura appetizer, and a roll I forget the name of. The nigiri was fantastic and the fish tempura basically melted in my mouth! Very reasonably priced, especially if you’re sharing with someone! It is a very tiny spot so not the best atmosphere I suppose but the food was incredible and our server was very friendly! I will definitely be coming back!:)

Quality is superb. Service is top notch. Prices are reasonable. Overall vibe is quaint and cosy. I recommend this sushi spot for all. (I could've had 50 cloud nine rolls, so good)

Our bill was nearly $100 but the quantity and quality did not justify the price. Everything tasted the same. The sashimi was small and had no flavour, tempura rolls were not crunchy. A lot of positive reviews on here so maybe it was just an unfortunate experience.

Wow! This place is wonderful. It's a tiny spot off of Bank. Nicely decorated, clean, and run by two people who seem humble and gracious.

My husband and I went there for the start of our Anniversary celebration. We ordered a variety of sushi to try all of our favorites. All of the fish was fresh and tender. The salmon was amazing. The mango Philly roll was beautifully balanced. Not as sweet as I expected, which was wonderful.

The wakeme salad was fresh and tasty. They were busy with take out orders, but we had still had quick service. We will definitely be ordering from here in the future. It would be a great place to walk to from Lansdowne for some great sushi and/or take it to go. Not much seating, but definitely worth it any way you can get it. *Cross-posted on Yelp*

We just loved this place. They DO have a few tables to sit, but mostly it’s takeout. The sushi is awesome - the shiitake roll is a must try if you like mushrooms, and I’ve never seen the squid wakame roll anywhere, but it was AHMAZING. Fresh, delicious sashimi. Happy to support small family owned and run business!
