Terrawoods Resort on Muskoka Shores

The ideal location for me to commemorate my anniversary was Terrawoods Muskoka. The cottage is fantastic. It is spotless and quite cozy. The Main House, Beach Suite, Point, Pines, and Beachside were our accommodations with my family and friends.
The water trampoline and kayaks were a hit, and the beach is excellent.
The celebration was made memorable by the proprietors, Faisal, Rabia & Moeed, who went above and above. I greatly appreciate it.
This cottage is fantastic, and I hope to visit it again soon.

Had the pleasure of staying here this past weekend for a party and it was the most fun I’ve had in a while would definitely recommend booking with terrawoods resorts! We were a large party that were accommodated perfectly in the main house and the beachfront cottages! My stay in the 2 bedroom +loft cottage was excellent. There was plenty of towels, toilet paper and extra kitchen equipment. The owners were very easy to reach when anything was needed and we were able to comfortably sleep up to 10 people in our cottage alone! The beach was super clean and various activities were provided such as canoeing, kayaking, water trampoline and life jackets to keep everyone busy. One night was definitely not enough for us to do everything we wanted will definitely be returning:)

Spent the weekend here. Beautiful and peaceful place to relax and unwind. Would come again soon:)

Amazing Experience
We stayed here in the cabin by the beach.loved the view, service was great, staff was friendly, Water trampolines are must, Beach is clean. They have Tesla charges on site which made my driving experience better.
We had more fun then expected.
I recommend everyone who is looking for a weekend getaway to visit and stay at Terrawoods.

Brilliant space anytime someone wants to get away from the city. Only a 2 hour drive from Downtown Toronto.

The shack they gave us looked like it would collapse at any moment.

Very overpriced, had to pay over 1k a night. Just to get access to half of an old cottage. Was expecting near 5 star level stuff, obviously nowhere near. There are tvs in every room, with Netflix. But it is way too overpriced for what you get.

Best Experience Ever Had! - we stayed at Terrawoods few weeks back and had Excellent time with Family and Friends. Cottages are super clean, well equipped with all necessities, Specially Management is very friendly and always their to support/help in case someone needs any assistance.
We were Group of 20 people and everyone enjoyed their Stay, Kids had soo much Fun at beach and other activities. We Already booked another trip for this summer - I would Highly recommend, anyone looking to visit and stay at beach/cottages with Family or Friends. Terrawoods would be The place.

What an amazing experience at Terra Woods Resort! Clean and beautiful designed cottages! Beach front with a child and adult friendly CLEAN beach! The staff were outstanding and ensured we were taken care of! Mohammed was the BEST! Turn and run away! Unit was not as advertised, was dirty, and the owner tried to charge us for a bunch of things that they originally said were included. Would not recommend.

Best location. Beautiful view. Had a great time with friends. The cottage was amazing, huge, clean and entertaining. Great caretaker. Kayak was the most fun part.

Service is below expectation. Barbecue was not working. In 4 bedroom premises only two bathrooms were available, including one of master bedroom, out of which shower in one bathroom was not working. Toilet flashes were not woking properly. Washing machine pods, bodywash or bath soap were not available. Utensils were insufficient. Wifi quality was poor. Commen washroom outside the premises were dirty.
In spite of the above shortcomings location is very fine.

This is our 9th season at TW. We are excited by the plans the new owners have. They purchased a new kayak for guests to enjoy the water. They also put in a general store and the kids love to get treats, and people who have forgotten items can get every day supplies without having to travel into town They have renovated some of the older cottages as well and have other renovation plans. The new owners have been very kind and responsive to my family. They live on-site and can be reached quickly by phone or text. We are enjoying our summer.

Recently stayed at Terrawoods under the new management. My group had a amazing time! Very nice cottages right on a beautiful calm lake, with a private beach for the resort guests. The management was friendly, accommodating and always accessible. Highly recommended. Will definitely be going back.

This is my 4th time being in terrawood very very good place to pass the vacation very friendly community and nice management spcialy Mohamed was so helpful for every body. Just go there never regret it. Salam.

We've been to a few cottages and cabins by the water, and I must say this has been the best experience we've had. Came here with my family and we enjoyed every minute. With an awesome beach access to a lovely boat dock and a cozy gazebo, you have the opportunity to have a wonderful time. I definitely recommend booking way in advance. With cabins to trailers you have plenty of staying options.

We are working in Parry Sound and stayed at TerraWoods. Our experience was a great one thanks to Mohammad. He was helping in what ever way we ask. Friendly and fun to be around and yes he showed us the turtles. Over I would most definitely recommend TerraWoods to friends and family Keep up the great work

We stayed in the Luxury Chalet - the pictures were much nicer than the actual house. It was grimy throughout. The bed sheets weren't on and the cleaner needed to come back at 7: 00pm to put them on. The air conditioning unit was leaking causing water to leak drip from the ceiling in the games room. The cleaning staff was remarkable (she dealt with the leak all her own with her daughter - she was a 10/10). We never saw any other staff the entire 3 day stay. We had to check ourselves in by accessing a locked key box. The unit below us was obnoxiously loud until the early hours of the morning. Blasting music and screaming non-stop. There was no staff to monitor this issue. Towels were limited in the unit.

This place has a lot of potential. However, I'm not sure how you can possibly run a resort with zero staff on site.

Nice staff but our cottage didn't have alAir conditioning and TV was disconnected. BBQ is not included in the rent. Firewood is 20 bucks but is 15 in the website

Awesome place for group of 8 to 10 people.
Clean bedsheets, washroom, kitchen and Living room
Large living and enough sitting space for 10 people.
Kitchen utility were provided.
Personal patio space with BBQ and separate space for bonfire.

E have rented the beachside from Janice and Jamie for 5 years, and what a wonderful experience and place it's been.
Unfortunately Terrawoods has been sold Dec. 2021 to New people that oviously aren't interested in loyalty to returning yearly customers. As extreme profit seems to be the new owners perspective and drive. They have jacked the weekly prices up to $2775.00 (for a 2 bedroom) a week which isn't closely comparable to surrounding area rentals in the same area. My family will not be returning to Terrawoods, we will be taking our loyalty elsewhere, after the rude and unprofessional communication we have received.

These have to be fake reviews. This place is gross and the owners are unbelievably rude. Yes we did stay for about 10 minutes. After we paid you already. Yes we did stay here and had to deal with you and your husband. He was actually laughing at me when we were not happy with our accommodations

Terrawoods resort used to be one of the nicest places we loved going. BUT since the new owners took over about November they have JACKED UP the prices not by little they have doubled them. When approaching them and asking why such a hike Arsalan replied how else will I be able to pay my mortgage. They do not care about the people that go there regularly like me and my family have been going there 15yrs. These new owner don't care about customers new or old ones. All they care about if making a FAST BUCK. They said weather existing customers go back or not they will rent out the cottages so there not worried. Well for the money they are charging you do not get a luxury suite like they are saying. When trying to talk to them regarding $ they say they will work with you and call you back THEY DO NOT CALL BACK. They have no people skills what so ever. And look out trailer owners who have also been there for a long time they said you will be next to have a jump in your rentals. Also other cottage resorts in the area look out as well as they a trying to purchase many other resort around the area.
If you do rent the cottage I am positive you will be disappointed and won't be going back.
Arsalan advise to you sharpen up on people skills and don't think you'll get rich in a month. This was a really nice family vacation place and you are turning it into money making and don't care about people. Me and my family and friends who also rent cottage will NOT be returning to terrawoods.

Stayed at Terrawoods for the week this August in Cottage #1. It was a cute and cozy little cottage had everything we needed. The grounds and small private beach were very well maintained. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. We had two little toddlers who very much enjoyed the whole vacation and we are definitely booking again for next year!

This was my third summer visiting Terrawoods. We love this family-friendly resort. Everyone is very personable. The beach is nice, and Jamie & Janice are awesome! Will be back next summer.

I have had a trailer at Terrawoods for the past 3 years. My family and I love it here. The beach is awesome. Great family area. There is also a little dog beach so the dogs can cool off.
My kids love the water trampoline and the swimming. The views are outstanding and the people are so nice. This is why we keep coming back.

Beautiful beach, family friendly atmosphere and less busy during the week. Less that 2 dozen people between Mon-Fri. Great boat fishing and water skiing destination. 5 min from hwy 400. Can't wait to go back

Place is too crowded with cottages and trailers. We stayed in an older cottage (#1). Bedrooms were small, Washroom was also small. Beach is OK for people who swim. Only saw 3 kayaks there: one had hole in bottom, 1 was flat bottom (difficult to steer). Host were very helpful.

Terrawoods is a beautiful family resort located in the heart of Muskoka on scenic Horseshoe Lake.

People from the trailer park were super lovely.

It is best to plan your stay in advance as they get booked up pretty quickly.

The beach is great, safe for kids. People can go boating, canoeing, fishing. Or just sit back and relax. The cottages are nice, with private fire pits, BBQs, kitchens with all appliances.

Lodge rooms are great, too. Comfy beds.

Place is low key quiet for families with kids. Not one single person between 15-50 at this resort. I wouldn't go back. Huge fat country white women complaining were young, from the city and listening to music. Go figure. Dont waste your time on this place.

Terrawoods is a beautiful place to go and relax. We truly loved the beach, the water toys and space to explore. It is very family friendly and would highly recommend this place for any family looking for a getaway. I did, however, expect it to be a little cleaner. We found lots of trash in the playground and around our cottage. The playground has definitely seen better days and could use a little TLC.

Terrawoods is my paradise escape from the city! I've stayed at quite a number of places all over the Muskoka area and Terrawoods is by far the best! The cottages are very cozy and rustic and have everything you need inside and out.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Janice and Jaime and family, they are very friendly, warm and welcoming and are always available, they literally treat you like family.
Booking and check in is always a breeze, I live about 3.5 hrs away and they always accommodate my late arrival.
If you want the ultimate cottage experience there's no better place than Terrawoods, I'm pretty sure from between last Aug.to Nov. 2020 I stayed here 4 or 5 times (possibly even 6, I can't remember off hand lol) so you can be assured that this review isn't a 1 time fluke! I will definitely be returning for many more years to come!

This place is an amazing campground. Well worth it to stay at! I highly recommend to everyone to come check this place out! Great owners that are funny, cheerful, friendly, and very easy to talk to. Excellent resort! A friendly, welcoming environment, beautiful beach, lots to do! The cabins are absolutely beautiful and cozy all year round! Highly recommend this incredible resort.

Our family has come to Terrawoods for a week in the summer every year for the past 10. This includes my husband and myself, our two kids and their families. We’ve stayed in the Beach Suite for 9 of those years. The beach is lovely and big and the water entry is gentle and Sandy. The lake is great and the water trampoline and iceberg are a big hit every year. The Beach Suite is very nice and with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it fits the 9 of us very comfortably. Jamie and Janice have always been nothing but welcoming and very helpful. A few years back we managed to tear out the bottom of our boat on a rock and not only did Jamie connect us with a local reliable marina but he felt badly enough for us that he allowed us to rent his house boat at much less than the usual rate while it was being repaired. This is service above and beyond. I don’t often write reviews but I can highly recommend Terrawoods and its owners. You don’t go back to the same place for 10 years for no reason!

Been here twice 8 years apart with my family. It was great then and better now. It's simply the altogether package when your trying to get cottage life experience. The lakes pretty perfect and they have so many ways available to take advantage of it.

Great little place with fantastic views on the water. The weather was a little cool but the water actually wasn't too bad for swimming. Took the little one for a couple of canoe rides which she loved. She also loved the big slide in the water. A few things could use some updates but part of the rustic charm you could say. If you need to plug in your phones, you might want to bring a power bar as outlets were a little scarce in the cottage we stayed in.

The one bedroom cottage we stayed in was over 80 years old, so yes, it's a cottage. But it was clean and perfect for two adults. The family that runs it, takes great pride and care of the property. The beach and water is incredibly clean and clear. The sunrises are amazing. We intend to return, if they will have us.

After inquiring into dozens of rental properties for our summer vacation, my wife and I came across TerraWoods, and we’re glad we did!

We had the opportunity to stay in the Lakeside cottage (#2), as well as a couple nights in one of their lodge rooms in the main house.

-The cottage-

The cottage is a bit rustic but was very clean and had all of the amenities that we needed, air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, good size fridge, microwave, toaster, and dining table.

Bathroom with stand up shower and hot water, flat screen tv with cable, pull out couch, and a separate bedroom.

Outside, you’ll find a newer model bbq for your master grilling, and a set of new chairs and an outdoor table for eating and relaxing by your own private fire pit.

A few steps, and you’re sitting in nice Muskoka chairs on the deck, sharing some drinks and stories with other guests, or a few steps more, and you’re on the nicely groomed and clean beach, where you can wade into the water and enjoy a nice cool off.

Overall, the cottage did exactly what we needed, providing us with a space to retreat from our busy lives in the city.

-The Lodge Room-

The lodge room that we stayed in appeared to be recently renovated, air conditioned, spotless clean, decent size fridge, microwave and toaster, flat screen tv with cable, and wifi access.

There are two bathrooms that are shared with the room beside you, however, we never ran into any conflicts!

Overall, the lodge room exceeded our expectations!

-The resort grounds-

The resort grounds are very well kept, the paths and walkways are clear, the beach is clean and safe.

There are plenty of things to do to keep your party entertained, including volleyball, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, paddle boating, and motorized boat rentals.

Out in the water, just off shore, you will find a large water trampoline and a big “iceberg” for climbing, joined together by a moonwalk, for you to test your balancing skills.

. And, we saved the best part for last.

-The hosts and the staff-

The hosts, Janice and Jamie welcomed my wife and I into their resort as if we were family. They made us feel very comfortable throughout our entire stay.

They are very accommodating and do their very best to meet the various requests and needs of their guests.

Thank you Jamie and Janice for providing us with an experience that we will remember and cherish for a lifetime!

We would also like to give special thanks to two Terrawoods employees that made us feel very welcomed. Rene and Leon work tirelessly around the resort, and were a huge part in providing the excellent experience that we had.

We reserve this place at the end of July as soon as we got there my mom had a severe allergic reaction because the place was so mouldy. We talked to the owner about the mold, he simply said "all of north has mould". We asked for our money back and left the place the same night. The cottage is dirty as well.

Horrible place I stayed in this place in two days on June btw this is Jessica. The owners were so mean and unprofessional. I am surprised how they are running the business and please don't spend your money in this dirty place.

Three generations of my family have spent a week here every summer for the past decade. I CAN NOT say enough about this place!

The owners Jamie and Janice have often gone above and beyond expectations. For example, one year we had a boating mishap and they proceeded to rent us their boat at a discounted rate so our kids could enjoy the GORGEOUS lake until ours was repaired. They didn't have to do that but they did. They're very attentive when it comes to ensuring their guests get the most out of their time in paradise.

The grounds are very well kept, and any issues we've had (and there have only been a couple in all that time) have been resolved expeditiously and professionally.

Please understand my parents, my family, and my sister's family aren't easy to please.

Spent a weekend in one of the cottages, had a great time. Such a lovely place and really nice people.

Jamie the owner is absolutely terrible. We stayed for a few months after we had a house fire and it was the worst experience of my life! We stayed in the basement of the main house and about a month in the ceiling started to leak BAD! Nothing was done to help stop it, they kept the snow on the deck above it so it continued to leak until we found somewhere else to move. We had made an agreement to stay until June 1st but one night we received a text from Jamie with him asking if we could move my boyfriend and our two kids (7 years and a 3 month old) from the current “4” bedroom we were paying top dollar to rent into a 2 bedroom cottage for a weekend as they had double booked. Once we said we would not as this was our residence with everything we owned into it became a nightmare to live there. Jamie would yell at my boyfriend for no reason, once he decided to start taking snow off the deck above where we were having the leak he would do it at 6am or 11pm, he was so inconsiderate. I said 4 bedroom because that’s how it was advertised but 1 bedroom didn’t have a window and another did not have a legal bedroom. It honestly one of the worst experiences of my life.

I'd like to start by saying we had a good time at Terrawoods, but we certainly would not go back. We were a group of two young families and rented cottages #3 and #4 for a week this August. I will start with the good. <br/>Location. Can't beat the views of the lake, the beautiful and safe sandy beach, the water trampoline and slide, the firepit outside each cottage.the location is fantastic. The lake is very clean with a sandy bottom. The seating on the beach is adequate, with muskoka chairs and one or two umbrellas. It was never too busy. Evenings were also quiet which was great for us with young kids. The cottage was well stocked with all utensils and warm water worked well. <br/>But that's about it for the good. So let's start with the bad. Our cottage (#4) was given to us in a very dirty state - since our friends cottage was not much better, I would have to imagine this is the normal standard here. It was clear that the furniture is never moved in order to sweep or vacuum underneath. Pictures will prove this, as there were horrible dust bunnies under all furniture, along with larger items such as half a hairbrush and playing cards under one bed, and (*shudder*) an old pair of ladies underwear under a dresser (pictures attached). The carpet in the main area was so old and dirty we used a picnic blanket on top of it to let our children play in the cottage. <br/>The cottages really need some basic TLC. Two ceiling tiles in the kitchen area were falling down and were taped with red electrical tape, but this stopped us from being able to open one of the kitchen cupboards (picture attached). The screen door which gave the very first impression of the cottage is covered in duct tape (picture attached). All of these things, we felt, could be addressed for a few hundred dollars in a few hours. <br/>The resort itself needs some maintenance too. There was a picnic bench near the cottage which was only usable on one side, as the bench on one side had fallen apart. The dock in front of cottage #4 is so wobbly we did not feel safe having our children explore it. The playground area is littered with garbage (picture attached) and has a porch swing that is not usable (picture attached). It was great to have life jackets and kayaks/canoes/paddle boats to use, but it's definitely better to bring your own life jackets as most of them were ripped and very old. We also purchased wood for fire, yet it was molding and rotting. Both of our cottages ran out of propane, and were told we would be provided with a full tank the next morning. Nobody came until late afternoon which altered our lunch plans quite a bit. Again, it seems like rather simple repairs that could be handled very quickly and easily but are simply overlooked. <br/>The owners were lovely and other guests were also relatively quiet and kept to themselves. We had no issues beyond the disgusting state the cottage was in and the poor state of the resort overall. We were with good friends and enjoyed ourselves but would not pay this money again to stay here. I hope that this review is read and repairs are made - there is a lot more profit to be had at this resort if the advice is taken.

Rented #3 Beachside for one week in August (2 adults, 1 child, 1 baby) with another young family who stayed in #4 The Point. Booked this trip in February; the booking process was easy and the owners were quick to respond to my calls/emails. Check-in was simple. The pictures posted on the website were representative of the cottage. At first glance the cottage was tidy, however when putting the linens on the beds I noticed there was quite a bit of sand that had built up between the mattress and box-spring of both beds, and large dust bunnies hidden behind the furniture. The beds were okay, but the floor was very slanted and I felt like I was about to roll out of them throughout the night. The kitchen was well stocked with all essential utensils/dishes. This cottage is right beside the beach - truly a perfect location when you have kids! No issues with noise. Occasionally some kids would run across our little deck to access the small dock, so it didn't feel as private. The sandy beach is perfect for young children. There were lots of sand/water toys to play with and plenty of seating. The water is beautiful and has a sandy bottom that gradually gets deeper. The inflatable slide/trampoline in the water was a big hit with the kids. The playground was a great option, but had seen better days. We had a great week, but will probably seek out a different resort next time.

We were very disappointed with our cottage rental for the week. The reason we chose this place is because it had airconditioning and indoor washroom. So tried to shower my toddler and the water was warm for 2 min and then was ice cold. The airconditioner was connected to the same power bar as the fridge, so when the fridge kicks in the air is out. The screen door was broken at the bottom, so an animal could easily get in. The main lock was broken when we got here and was replaced on our 3rd day. The ceiling light was not working, and hubby fixed it himself. There was lots of nails and screws in our front lot, so we kept picking them up and didn't feel safe to walk bare foot. I heard dogs were not allowed on the beach area, but everyone was letting their dogs off leash on the beach and a few pooped on our front lot. Oh and they provide life jackets, a few were so old and ripped, I would think they're a hazard. We also were interested in boat rentals, and were informed none are working and will let us know if they get fixed, which didn't happen. The only positive was that it was right by the beach and the manager Mike was very nice and accommodating.

Do not come here with the dog, they will make you tie your animal up all weekend in the heat or keep it on a leash at all times, also your dog is not allowed to bark. The rooms are extremely small and dirty and the beds are hard to get into it so tight I slept in a room that was a sauna it didn’t even have a doorknob. The place smells like mold and mildew and doesn’t have basic essentials like a coffee machine. Also the owners will be making noise right above you and watching you all weekend and u will be staying in thier basement. Not a good place to play music and have a good time.

We went to Terrawoods for a weekend last year and loved it! It's only the beginning of July and we have already been back for 2 weekends this June! We love it at Terrawoods Resort! Jamie and Janice are so generous, sweet and friendly, make you feel at home. There is always something to do; you can borrow the canooes and kayaks, swim out to the trampoline, hang out on the beach, fish from the dock and so much more. We don't have to look for a place to go to with our family anymore because we found Terrawoods. Highly recommend this place for anyone (friendly people of course) that want to have a great time away from home. Can't wait to go back soon.
