Lunch was delicious/excellent! Both our server John and Chef Hugh were so friendly and enjoyed an all afternoon birthday lunch experience. Thanks so much! Marlene and Joy
Table of 2, ordered the bistro burger and lobster (replace by prawn) Benny, both order are pretty good, personally speaking for the burger I would prefer the horseradish aioli to have a strong kick but the flavor is there, overall a decent brunch.
Great dinner service at this modern French restaurant located in downtown Markham.
We ordered appetizers, main entree and dessert. Food quality was excellent. Service is above average. Restaurant decor is up to date.
Food is flavored on the lighter side, which is perfectly fine for my taste buds. The restaurant and wait staff don't offer black pepper or grated cheese with their main entrees.
Caesar salad was lightly dressed but had lots of parmesan, cured bacon bits and croutons. I would recommend the Duck Confit and Pan Seared Arctic Char for main entrees. Dessert was standard affair. We had the Coconut Creme Brulee.
Service was pretty good, the head chef stopped by the table to ensure the food tasted good. However, I wished the restaurant would provide a change of cutlery between appetizers and main entree.
Atmosphere was a modern wood and metal decor feel. Tablecloth and napkins were high quality. There is no background music, which is good for table conversations.
Had our wedding reception at the restaurant and that day was fantastic! We had the entire second floor, the food, environment, view, decoration, and atmosphere was soo great! The waiters were very patient and nice too. I’m so glad I chose this place to keep a great memory. All my friends and family enjoyed it too. Very sweet and elegant place for a small reception. Might go back on my anniversary:)
I was here for my cousin's wedding and the food was mediocre, and worse for vegetarians. We were seated upstairs, so the poor staff had to keep running up and down the stairs for every single dish, which was very tedious and left a lot of people waiting. The bartender was kind and helpful.
The food was okay, we ordered: - marrow - tartar - escargot - foie gras - peppercorn steak - filet mignon
The starters were small portions, and to be honest the flavour profiles were okay, missing a bit of salt and pepper.
The steaks were good quality but again missing a bit of salt and the sides were basic.
The service was a bit junior and inexperienced, but the staff were really nice and friendly.
The restaurant looks bigger and nicer in the pictures. I think they cut a lot of corners when It comes to set ups. Tables clothes don’t match, glasses are dirty and the space looks much smaller than what it appears in pictures.
If you're looking for the perfect spot for a romantic date with your significant other, look no further than this amazing French restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you'll feel the intimate and cozy atmosphere that sets the tone for an unforgettable evening.
But the real star of the show here is the food. Every dish we tried was absolutely incredible, with flavors that burst in your mouth and left us wanting more. The chefs clearly take great pride in their work, and it shows in the expertly crafted dishes that are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious to eat.
The service was also exceptional. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive. He made great recommendations and helped us choose the perfect wine to complement our meal.
All in all, this place is a gem. If you're looking for a romantic spot for a special occasion or just a cozy night out with your loved one, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed!
The valentine‘s day menu is horrible. Way too over priced, and server didnt even ask us about how we want our prime rib done. Waited 1 hour to get our appetizer. The tables are crowded, you can literally hear every single word clearly from the person on the table besides you. Desert was absolutely disgusting, seems like they bought pre-made ones from grocery store and bring those to the table. If I could, I will give them 0 star. Very disappointed.
Nice food and service. Waiter Syed is very attentive. We went for our anniversary dinner and coffee were from the house. A kind gesture much appreciated.
The Valentines Day menu was horrible. Food was obviously made in advance and reheated when ordered. Prices were hidden. Overpriced and under delivered.
Service was amazing. Great staff. Very friendly. My water was topped constantly.
Food was very good. Wish portions were a bit bigger for the price.
My favorite app was the bone marrow. Very tasty and great presentation. Lobster cake was very crispy.
Calamari breading was falling off to the touch but was good. Lobster bisque was watery for my taste. It was good though. Wish it had more lobster. I've been to less fancy restaurants downtown with way more lobster in their bisque so it was a bit disappointing.
Lamb rack was perfectly cooked and potatoes were some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. It wasn't all mushy and had a good bite to it.
Beautiful place for big or small occasions with fine dining cuisine and great wine list. Staff is professional and super friendly. Great variety of food options with portions that would definitely leave you satisfied. Do not leave the restaurant without trying their deserts such as Coconut Creme Brulee or raspberry sorbet. Atmosphere is relaxing and very romantic. Cool interior! Free Parking-Yes! Thanks to TR team for our experience!
Very disappointing for its price. Not what it promoted at all.
Duck confit: The texture was not tender enough, and the outside was not crunchy at all. The seasoning for the duck was just pure salt, not much flavour at all.
Steak tartare: Very salty and there wasn't any other flavour besides salt a bit of a onion taste. The texture was like a very finely grinded meat paste and a bit slimy - doesn't feel fresh. Didn't taste like beef.
Steak au poivre: Very dry and not well seasoned at all. Not tender. Had the texture of wet paper towel. Was like a flip flop or car tire left out for years.
Calamari: Dip was way too salty. The flour breading for the squid was way too thick, but not crunchy at all. It was soggy and no salt or pepper whatsoever.
BEST FOOD IN MARKHAM. Guaranteed. The chef is Scottish and came out to greet us. Gave us an amuse bouch. Everything on the menu is delicious. Loved the steak tar-tar!
Service was only ok, nothing special. Food was subpar and definitely not worth the price paid. The so-called "french cuisine" is a joke, it is for ppl who never had french cuisine. The venue is very packed. Overall, my recommendation is save your money and spend elsewhere.
Came here for the first time. The staff were very polite and attentive. The food was a hit and miss. The duck was tender and flavourful but the seafood plate was a little bland. I wish we were offered a chance to sit on the patio because the indoor restaurant got a little noisy. To a point where I couldn’t hear my friend and what she was saying.
Just went there for lunch. Nice service. Nice ambiance. Delicious food! Had lobster bisque and duck breast - both were exceptionally good. Chef dropped by with an amuse-bouche - bocconcino and cherry tomato with pesto and balsamic reduction - nice touch. Bisque was velvety, moderately rich with strong taste of lobster. Duck breast was absolutely perfect - temperature, texture, taste - the whole dish is well thought and nicely put together. Highly recommend. Will most definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.
This was our first time at this restaurant and it was beyond our expectation on all levels. We went there for my wife's birthday and right away were greeted by the server and taken care of. He told us about the wine special without having to ask! The drinks/food was impeccable and there was a lot of attention to detail. The chef brought out dessert for us and was very nice as well! Definitely will be returning here again!
I came for my birthday dinner. The restaurant was great! Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the manager was very attentive to all patrons. I ordered the Baked oysters and lobster squid ink pasta. It was amazing, the pasta is a MUST try. The waiter, she was busy at time which I understood but she often just left and was unattentive but she was nice overall. Would recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Decor was very modern and stylish. Service was great and friendly. Daily specials are worth goin, especially the $1 oysters in Thursday. Appz were delicious and the fish came out perfectly crisp and seasoned. Spacing was a bit tight and food took a little to long, but still a great addition to Markham downtown.
I’ve been here numerous times and I’ve never left disappointed. I first got introduced to this restaurant from my cousin hosting my niece’s first birthday here back in 2019 and I’ve been coming ever since. I love how they have a wide selection of appetizers (I do think their entrees need a little more umph to them) and their Riesling choices are always perfect!
I don’t think their portions are small considering this is a “fine dining” restaurant.
French cuisine in Markham. One of the few restaurants that have bone marrow to start.
Service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious *chef's kiss*. Pictured menu items: lobster bisque, bone marrow, bouillabaisse, lemon shortbread, coconut creme brulee.
Ambiance was perfect with the lighting and decor. There are 2 floors and an outdoor patio for dining.

Haven’t gone into the restaurant for dining, But I have ordered off of Ubereats on 3 separate occasions. All of my orders were well packaged and food was delicious. Will continue to order. Thank you!:)
I spent my birthday here and although I had a good evening I do think there are some improvements that could be made.
For example, the washroom upstairs was a bit dirty, some of the food was a bit salty, and for a fine dining restaurant I expected the staff to be dressed up a bit more instead of in casual wear.
The good: Nice view if you get to sit on the 2nd floor The wine glass is properly cleaned (no water spot, no stain, but that's kinda a basic standard for a high-end restaurant anyway) Duck confit is good, crispy outside, juicy inside, with lots of flavour
The bad (why 2 star?) The steak does not worth the price. It was overcooked, and the meat quality is poor. We asked the manager to send the steak back to kitchen, at first it was a no, then after we insisted, he gave in and sent us a new one, but the meat quality is still very poor. He said "that's how it is". The female sever has strong body odor, which ruins the dining experience. I understand this is a personal issue but really bothers me. It's embarrassing to say it to her directly, so if she gets to read my comments, hope she will find a way to.
I booked out the second floor in July for a wedding celebration dinner and had a great experience. Chen and his staff were amazing and did their best to ensure a smooth dinner for myself and my guests. They were all so friendly and accommodating - I would definitely recommend them for private dining experiences. The food was also great and all the guests enjoyed their time:)
The food is exquisite but it is very expensive for small portions. I wouldn't go again. There is le paradis downtown that serves the same cuisine for a much cheaper price.
The head chef is a very nice man and the service was great. Very reasonable price range and very good food. The fries for all entrees are double fried so they are extra cripsy. I had the duck breast which comes with a tangy sauce, it was very good.
The food was food, the place was nice. There are stairs to go upstairs but seats downstairs as well. The menu is a bit limited but the steak was good. It came on a salt block which was unique to me. Parking is right next to the restaurant and you get a nice view of the condos and Marriott. The creme brulee was okay as well but I would go back for the Terre Rouge drink. It was amazing.
Terre Rouge is the perfect dining experience for a suave and fanciful night out. The service was impeccable as was the fine décor and moody ambience. I highly recommend the bone marrow and lamb! They were delightful:) Lava cake too! Truly the IT place if you are trying to impress~
Didn't want to go too far in the evening, so I happened to find this place just down stairs. It has very comfortable and beautiful interior, there‘s even a screen for dinner party,u can play your video/picture!We met the boss, he was having dinner next to us. A very kind and friendly person. The food and wine were excellent and the staff were very friendly and we had a wonderful evening. Thank you
Don't bother making reservations here. They can't tell you ahead of time if they can give you a table or not. Came to the restaurant after having a reservation only to be told they can't accommodate unless I sit outside in the heat.
Mouth watering food but a bit pricey. All worth it though.
I was hesitant in eating at this place for a while because of the price of the food. I'm usually picky when it comes to the price vs the taste and presentation, but I can say I was far from disappointed.
Give Tanvir, the staff member, a promotion! He made sure our meal was taken care of with great customer service.
I tried the steak tartare, duck confite, black cod, sirloin steak, lava cake, and creme brule. All of which were well balanced and tender! To top it off, I returned for the giant T-Bone steak and shared it with a group of 4. To this day, I'm not sure how we finished it, but it was massive and cooked exactly how we wanted it.
Fantastic! Probably the best dining experience I've ever had. And hands down the best food. We were lucky enough to be there for dining in after closing the dining room due to covid. The food and service were on point throughout the night. Well worth the price. Best location at Downtown Markham.
I would not recommend this place. There are flies flying around in the restaurant. Had to chase it away to prevent it from landing on my food. This is disgusting. You don't want this place to ruin your day!
An unexpected surprise way up north in Markham. We had a great dinner at Terre Rouge this weekend. Our server Rose was very sweet. We decided to go all apps and so glad we did. The lobster bisque was excellent, as were the lobster tacos. We also had the escargot which was good and the mussels which were tasty but a bit too salty (and I love salt) and the truffle fries were fantastic! Worth the trip, we will be back for sure!
Relaxing and good ambiance. Second floor is recommended for private events. New French chef in the house.
Highly recommended daily fresh oysters and beef tartare if you like seafood. Lamb chops and bone marrow are their signature meat dish…with lava cake to finish!
I love this place, the food is really good, I enjoyed my risotto and the charcuterie board was worth the price! Thanks to our server for making our dinner even more enjoyable
This place is amazing! I went about year ago with my boyfriend for our anniversary and the food was delicious. The service was great, and the owner was extremely friendly towards us. We ordered the 12oz Striploin With Frites dish and the seafood platter. The steak was one of the best dishes I have ever had, it was tender and was seasoned/cooked perfectly. The seafood platter was fresh and beautifully assembled. I am definitely going pay another visit but with my friends in the future.
Below average food, small portions, two stars for the food, four stars for the environment and four stars for the service. Missing the vibes and people, the freshness of the food is not worth the price. We booked online for anniversary, however, no cakes no dessert no nothing. A lot of disappointment: (
I was a fan of this place before pandemic. Now, we have been here twice after the recent reopen. Very disappointed, the quality of quantity both got decreased! You don’t get what you paid for.
Called for a reservation. We could only get 8: 00pm but then I looked online and booked for 7: 15
The inside is nicer than I expected. The service is friendly.
Some good.some ok. Cesar salad.ok Lobster bisque.the best I've ever had Escargot was dry not enough butter. Could not even dunk bread. Mussels were good but very salty so I didn't dunk either. Lobster taco.very good. Truffle fries.very good.
Drinks.wine very reasonable. French lemonade too sweet.
Lots of good here to return. A few things that can be fixed up. $150 + tip for 2
Before the pandemic, this place used to be one of our fav. It was a bit pricy the overall WAS fine. We have come here twice recently, one for lunch one for dinner. You need to know the following: 1: LUNCH MENU: they changed menu. For lunch time, there are only limited stuff you can order. We can order everything in the house before. But now, only on the menu. And you don’t have too many choices. 2: DINNER: LESS PORTION BUT SAME PRICE. What can I say, the portion of the food is very very SMALL. They serve 3 breads only twice for free, and if you wanna refill you got to pay $8-$10 for 3 breads. Black Cod used to come with gourmet risotto —it’s gone now. 3: SHORT STAFFED: only two servers serving patio plus tables inside 4: meal flavor is worse than before made us doubt if they had changed a chef. They said no…. Conclusion: it’s not easy to survive through a pandemic for restaurants, but…….
Food was good but there is always some complication. Last time I ordered, they had run out of the scallops I ordered. This time, I got notice food was ready when I arrived I had to wait 15 minutes. People ate nice though.
Mouthwatering dishes and fresh seafood selection definitely makes my first visit memorable. Good choice for small party or friends reunion. Oysters, fine wine makes our dining experience a great start. We chose the second floor (heated) patio seating to fully enjoy summer time. Highly recommended the lamb Rack with Marhed Potato. It’s kinda in a big portion so perhaps you could share with friends too.
Food was inadequate, (Lobster Risotto in particular was terrible) portion sizes were very small and the service was okay. But definitely did not warrant the almost 300$ bill. Money well spent at any other high end restaurant in the GTA. Overall would NOT recommend.
Had been expected the restaurant since long time before, finally got the chance to dine in and the experience is not as what I expected. The price is for French restaurant but the food is not matched, I mean this is more like fast food instead of the real French style dish.
It was a take out order. The worst food experience ever. The pasta was so dry.i can not believe how dry it was.completely garbage! We ended up throwing the food due to the dryness.plus the customer service was so bad.we waited a long time to get our food.avoid if you can!
Excellent food! However the filet minion was served with no side dish like mashed potatoes or vegetables. Too bad. A small change could really increase customer satisfaction!
