Thai Bamboo Restaurant

If I could give them zero stars for their food, I would! We got chicken skewers, pad thai with chicken and shrimp crispy spring rolls. The chicken skewers so dry and flavorless. It barely had any taste to it. The pad thai smelled and tasted like ketchup. The pad thai had no vegetables or tofu or sprouts or any garnish on it with barely any chicken in it. The spring rolls were okay but lacked flavor. There was no thai flavors in any of the food we got. Anyone could cook better thai food following a recipe better than the food here. The food at this place is not authentic at all in any way.

The only 2 good things to note about this place was their customer service and portion size. Just wish the food matched the service.

Had the shrimp crispy spring rolls and chicken pad Thai. Spring rolls were on the greasy side, pad Thai was a bit more sweet than I’d prefer, but both were still very good.

Great staff/customer service. Fast and consistent with any order I’ve made. Will continue to come here for our Thai options.

Rice and noodles were too sugary.
There were no deep flavors, just sugar.
Black bean sauce with beef consisted of majority sauce with little vegetable and close to no beef, and it was way too SALTY.
Contents of the black bean sauce were floating on the sauce, it felt more like a soup than meal.
Quantity of the food was average compared to nearby asian restaurants.
Price was too expensive for the quality.
Visit again in the future? I highly doubt it

Nice quite place with a warm, welcoming feeling and the pictures insides really adds to th3 decor. We got there had to wait a little but that's because the girl (Rae) was super busy.however once she attended to us we really felt the Japanese hospitality (her background) 5 star for her service. The food was pretty good despite the other bad reviews here. We have chicken shrimp pad Thai and red curry with steam rice, soup and even wings and crispy spring rolls. Everyone is super friendly, it is kid friendly and I absolutely recommend.

Previously this was one of the best Thai food places in Barrie.

Not sure if the cooking staff / chef has been changed but the quality has decreased. The pad Thai is soggy and flavour is off.

This is the third time I’ve been hoping for a miracle but I’ve been let down.

Otherwise the prices are great and spring rolls / other menu items are tasty.

I ordered a Pad Thai with chicken and spring rolls. The entree was good and filling, and the spring rolls were some of the best I’ve ever had! It is pretty expensive, which is the reason for my 4 star rating. However, it is worth it if you’re looking for some authentic Thai food!

Food quality has gone down, so sad.
Greasy chopped up noodles are not the way they should be cooked.
Barely a teaspoon of crushed peanuts as a topping. $3.50 for 3 extra shrimp.
Goodbye won't be back.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Thai bamboo in the past, ordered tonight and my favorite at the restaurant has been the crispy spring rolls. I am not sure what has happened to them but they don’t even taste the same. I always order two orders so I can enjoy some later on and I’m not even sure I will be eating them.

Been going there for years, great selections, very flavorful, good servings and friendly staff. I would defiantly recommend you trying it

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed!
Last few months progressively getting worse. Tonight’s horrible pad Thai cannot be tolerated. It was a super blob of oily tasteless noodles.
No more Bamboo for me!

First time ordering from this restaurant. Amazing! Food was not only steaming hot upon arrival but everything tasted, smelled and looked fresh. Whoever cooked that meal did an outstanding job. Definitely ordering again soon. Quick and efficient delivery too.

I have traveled all over the US and Canada eating Pad Thai. I had high hopes for this place but was so disappointed. The young man attending to my needs did a fine job. The crispy veg spring roll fell short, having really no veg and really only glass noodles, as you can see in the pic. Now for the main "Pad Thai" it was flavorless and very oily. In all the years of eating Pad Thai it's never been this greasey. Also I asked for medium heat but it was so overwhelmingly hot it kept making me caught, and I consider myself to have decent spice tolerance. Finally the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and they had good water. Maybe the other dishes are fine so definitely worth a try.

Oh and I wanted to be honest and up front so everything I said here I passed on to my server AFTER receiving the bill so they didn't think i was trying to get a discount/free meal, but they insisted on comping the dish, so at least there's that.

Well, I gave it a four this time because…. There were no shrimps in both our order of house fried rice. This is what I order almost all the time because of the different items added to the fried rice. It’s delicious and it’s plentiful… but my favourite item was missing.
