Thai Express Restaurant Ottawa

Horrible service. States open till 2 unable to order food after 10pm spent 30 minutes trying to get their page to accept payment and 3 different cards were declined by the page.

*Update - Had good customer service after my poor experience, hopefully the feedback improves the restaurants quality if food.

Inedible, I should have known when an entire ladle of soy sauce was put into my Fried Rice that there would be problems but I didn't expect it to taste of burnt oil and be unable to eat it. Whole box went in the trash.

I ordered pad thai through uber eats. The food barely had any sauce in it. It is very dry. I requested for spicy but this tastes very sweet. Not sure if you guys checked instructions. I did a mistake ordering without looking at the reviews for your location.

Super dry, ordered a beef pad thai.it had basically only noodles i got 3 pieces of beef and no tofu or bean sprouts or sauce!?

The top part was ok. However the rice just tasted like mush and was all glued together, not sure if it was old rice or not properly cooked. Could use more pineapple as well. Ended up throwing the rice away. Other Thai express locations are much better. I won’t be coming back to this location.

We ordered Tom Yum Soup on the Uber eats, but they give to us Thai Soup. Call them, but no one answers. In addition, no liquid in the Thai Soup, only noodles. Shrimp is black, not fresh.

I love thai express, but they were the worst thai express I ever had. The egg in pad thai was mashed, stick with rice noodles like I put eggs in cold water then stir and boil it! And the sauce so little. Boss, can you seriously training staffs that how to use pot to stir fried?

The lady’s service is very rude and charge me more without any notice. Won’t be here anymore

Picked up a tofu pad thai last night. The worst I ever had. Extremely dry, no taste. I saw 3 bean sprouts. It was just a big clump of noodles.

Been ordering Tom yum for years. Asked and paid extra for veggies and asked for hot sauce however my meal wasn’t what I expected.

I’m giving this rating because the supervisor (lady) was understanding, listened and graciously offered to make things better.

Very slow at making food, but that is understandable for what they are preparing. But the food I received tonight is the worst fried rice I have ever tasted. It tastes burnt, with almost no chicken, I cant even describe the weird taste to it. It is as if chemicals were dumped into the food. Almost 20 bucks for this?

We are regularly customers of Thai Express.
This location does not live up to the amazing Thai Express meals. Twice now they've failed on our order. Taste was just not it.

Ordered general Thai pad thai and chicken pad thai. Over cooked noodles and Tasted burnt. The few pieces of chicken I had weren't that great and did not really taste like general Thai chicken. You can see the black on the container from being burnt. I have had this dish at different locations and it never tasted like this. Dumplings were not that great either. Will not being going back to this location.

Chiken was all skin, tofu was rough, we cld smell the B. O. Of the cook in the noodles, spring rolls were dry, never having thai express again, would have rather donated the money, food was so bad we had to throw it, do not eat here

Had high hopes as I have tasted Thai express Pad Thai at other locations. This one had no flavours but only salt and chilli. I added lemon and french dressing on top to make it edible at hotel. Regret.

One of the worst thai express experiences ive ever had. Everything tasted off. Pad thai noodles seemed rubbery same with chicken. Dirty guy behind the counter.

I am so disappointed in the luch I just bought from there. I open it and completely disgusted. How are you going to cook my food in a disgusting wok that has not been cleaned. I have burnt black pieces all in my food and all im left with is white rice with some specs of burnt black food. I was just there 10 mins ago

I tried this place again after a few years and they've made huge improvements. The place is very clean, fantastic staff and the food was great. Don't let a past experiences dictate, it's changed.

Tiny portion of ‘thairacha chicken’ for 15$. The taste was ok. Not much to say about the staff other than, they were present?

Amazing place! Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely come here anytime I'm in the Trainyards area.

Used to love Thai Express now I'm scared. Got general pad thai for dinner and literally ended up with food poisoning a few hours later.

Throwing up, fever, amongst the other symptoms of food poisoning. I will not be returning after this experience.

I ordered a medium spicy beef soup
First, I get excessive amount of noodles and barely no broth which in all other location is the opposite and the bowl size is absolutely small to any other locations I have order and thats their " large" and I get 0 scent of spicy in it at all

We were shopping at trainyards and didn't feel like cooking when we get home so decided to get food from this location, best decision ever! Food was delicious and service was great.took a bit longer to prepare than anticipated but was so worth it! Happy to go back again and again

Unfortunately, worst Thai food location, never ordering there again. Inexperienced girls cooking thai food! They had no idea what they were doing. Grabbing the noodles using their fingers with long nails.no gloves! Terrible! No stars is unfortunately not an option.

Terrible customer service and the worst food. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! The manager will diagnose you with covid if you complain about the food. Unbelievable.

The whole experience was terrible.
When we ordered, the cashier wasn’t paying attention and kept getting it wrong. We had to keep repeating our orders. We ordered a pad see ew and tom yum soup, the pad see ew noodles were watery and undercooked and both dishes barely had any flavour. When we watched them cook our food, they had no idea what they were doing. The cook was just guessing when the noodles were ready and said this out loud. We brought the food back to complain and the manager, Joe, came out and asked us "what do you want? " We told him the food is undercooked and has no flavour. His response was “MAYBE YOU HAVE COVID" and kept going on with the covid to Asian customers, continuing with "well I don't know what you have but you can't taste and that's a covid symptom. " He was so rude the whole time and had to argue with us. He wouldn’t accept the criticism and at this point we just wanted a refund. He kept bragging about how this location is the busiest and the food here is good before giving us back our money.

Worst Thai express ever. They undercooked and under seasoned my pad sew and Tom yum soup. I went to inform them that the flavour is not there and there is a weird taste. The manager or owner, his name was Joe, came out very aggressive and said that maybe I have covid-19 because I could not taste anything. I was very offended because I am also Chinese. I was shocked to hear this statement, I just asked for my money and left.

Asked for a little extra sauce and was charged one dollar. Almost no meat in the dish. Not at all enjoyable. Store has a very unpleasant manager who is not service oriented at all.

In these difficult times to stay afloat with minimal staff, I would like to mention that the service was excellent!

This is the sixth time when I ordered the general thairacha and everytime i write the notes that i need a bowl because i’m at work and i can’t eat it without the bowl but they never send it.even after ordering i tried to call them but they never answered the call. So i just wanna say that never ordered food from here if you are at work.

Pretty terrible, the *fresh* spring roll was stale, the chicken pieces were massive not chopped and tasted like week old tofu chicken, save ur money avoid this place at all cost, I love thai Express go to the one downtown for a redeeming meal.

Went there for lunch with my boss today since its been awhile since we were in and were craving hard. It was great, as usual, but there is new management and we met the owner. He was extremely nice and personable. The food was awesome, the staff was wonderful, it was a very pleasant atmosphere (covid in mind). The owner is very nice and it's obvious he cares about his business. 5 stars!

I used to work here and back then it was great. I spent about 30 mins in the store waiting for 2 orders of pad Thai the one guy cooking did 2 orders for people who weren't even in the restaurant before me! The owner is snobby and has fired just about every good staff member they have had. The food was watery for some reason don't know how as a pad Thai doesn't use water to cook the noodles they are pre soaked and then fried.overall horrible experience and will never be returning. All in all unfriendly staff, super long wait times and bad quality food

I went to pick up an order for uber eat qfter 7 minutes driving to the restaurant, i waited at the cash for couple minutes but the staff didn't ask me for help then when i asked if the uber eat is ready she answered rudely "no you came early i have 10 minutes to prepare the order" she was so rude for some reason that i had to leave and cancel the order it was the black lady i didn't know her name, someone has to teach her how to deal with people in a better way.

It took over 20 minutes to get a Chicken Pad Thai. They are too busy and not staffed properly. They are doing skip the dishes but leaving people who are in the store waiting for 20 minutes. To me this is unacceptable. They need more staff. Customer service is not good. I would not recommend it.

Far too slow to be a viable lunchtime option if you're on lunch break. Other Thai Express locations have been very fast, but I've been to this one twice and both times waited over 20 minutes for my food. Unacceptable for a fast food restaurant called Thai EXPRESS.

I was very disappointed in the pad Thai. There wasn't enough sauce and the staff are kind of grumpy. I've tried it multiple times and I just won't go to this location anymore.

Chicken tasted old / unfresh. Stomach wasnt the best after. They dont make their Pad Thais like 98% of the other the other Thai Expresses, they put too much sauce or something.

This is the second time that this location has failed to make the Thai chicken fried rice properly. I Have this dish at other locations throughout the city on a regular basis and two for two at this location it's been substandard to say the least.

Very hard working employees at this location on aug 30 Friday evening. There was only two of them working and a huge line up. Food prepared was great as well. I asked for spicy and it was spicyyyyyy! Love it.

I normally don't review chain restaurants, but I feel this particular Thai Express makes mistakes most times I have been and others should be aware of it.

If you're near Trainyards and get a craving for Thai Express, you're likely to get an experience that is consistent with other Thai Express locations you've been to. However, if you're the type of person who would bothered if a restaurant messes up your order, I'd stay clear of this place.

Chicken and tofu was chewy and flavorless, thick noodles felt unsatisfying. The only tasty thing there was their imperial rolls.
The price was also higher compared to other places. Avoid.

For a "fast food" style place the food is great. I have never had an issue with the food or the wait time. My go-to for fast Thai food.

My husband and I try with every effort to bring our own containers and mugs when we go to restaurants and coffee shops for take-aways, in an attempt to minimize the use of plastics containers and cups as much as possible. When we attempted to do this at the Thai Express at the Trainyards, the manager there abruptly and rudely told us they can't do that, when asked why, she said "Health Canada says so". So we called Health Canada, who then directed us to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and in addition for safety measures we also checked with Ontario Food and Safety, and the Ottawa Food Inspector, all of whom told us they have no policies that would prevent a food place from using reusable containers brought in by the customer.

We left without purchasing our lunches, and went to the Thai Express at the St. Laurent Mall, where the owner happily filled our reusable containers with our lunches, and praised us for doing so.

Please if you could, do not support the Thai Express at the Trainyards.

This place is amazing and food is delicious, it's really worth for the price and healthy food, the staff are really friendly and pad thai is superb

Very inconsistent food here I have went back to back days to order the same meal and both days were completely different, one day was extremely salty, next day was extremely spicey!

Filthy! Absolutely filthy! The whole place needs a scrub from the floors to the walls, tables.and not to mention the washrooms! Food was good, oily, but good. The disorganization behind the counter made the clients feel uncomfortable.no gloves and never saw anyone wash their hands when the moved from the cash to food prep to kitchen in the back. Will not return to this location.

I have never been in a Thai Express as bad as this one is.hair on my rice, taste really bad, I asked very spicy thai fried rice and they give a very sweet rice.it was a take out order so didn't wanted to go back. I work in cities through Ontario and I really like Thai Express but this one I will consider the worst in all Ontario.

Express? Not at all! I waited 15 min just to order than another 20 min to get food. It seemed like only one guy was cooking and a woman in the back wasn't helping.

Jai pris le pad thai au poulet. Le poulet etait sec et je me suis presqu'etouffé sur un petit os! Le tofu trop cuit aussi. Mon chum a pris les dumpling aux poulets et ils etaient encore gelé au centre!
