It's easy to miss but we'll worth the trip! Small and very welcoming restaurant. Great food (really like the potato and chicken curry). Strongly recommend?
A friend of mine and I went there on Oct 20th, 2023. The meal was delicious but unfortunately, the waitress was very pushy and loud. She was coming to our table to ask if we were ready to order again and again. Then, whoever came in, she asked very loudly (almost screaming in such a small place) if it was for a takeout or dine in. After she served us, she kept coming to clear our dishes even though we were not finished yet. This made our experience kind of disappointing. Will not go back there again.
Favorite thai in Ottawa, gra pao, pad kee mao, and curries are all excellent! Most vurries have a good spice level but I prefer the paneng with a little extra. Also one of the few thai places doing khao soi
Service was great. Owners were very welcoming. The food didn’t take long either. Had a Tom kha soup (coconut milk, mushrooms and chicken) and the chicken Penang with rice. Food was delicious. I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes. Only downside being that it’s a little pricy for the amount of food you get so don’t count on taking anything home for lunch.
Super nice experience! Best thai food in ottawa, traditionnal way, small restaurant but a lot of love to the customer from the owner of the restaurant!
The food is outstanding. Not much to the restaurant, maybe three or four tables. We ate in. Had spring rolls and chicken satay to start. Fresh and hot, cooked to order. Shared several dishes and all were delicious. I'm sure take out would be great as well.
Cute little place! Very cozy. The food was delicious; only reason I can't give 5 stars is that it's not very vegetarian-friendly. I was able to get the pad thai with tofu instead of meat, but it still had fish sauce. I'm not sure if the vegetable spring rolls and soup are totally vegetarian either, but the spring rolls were so good I don't really care, haha. Large portions and lovely presentation, too. Love the little decorative carrots.
A well deserving 5 star thai restaurant in South keys, it is tucked away in this little mall and since the main restaurant left the mall I am sure most would be unfamiliar with this spot.
Trust me when I say thai Lanna serves up awesome curries and pad everything lol
Seriously the BEST pad thai i’ve ever had! From the first bite of pad thai i had i couldn’t stop saying to my mom how amazing it was! 100% going back here.service was quick and friendly!
What a wonderfull experience to dine in at Thai Lana Cuisine. The staff was more then welcome, the food was superb as usual and the ambience was so romantic which my gf appreciated a lot. Thanks for all the vegetable flowers and the so nice bouquet at our table. Very generous you made us smile and we felt so special.
Friendly and efficient eat-in service; delicious, authentic Thai food reasonably priced and generous portions. Pad Thai and green mango salad especially tasty. Somewhat limited menu in order to provide prompt service in limited space but most Thai classics available. Go for food rather than ambiance.
Fast authentic Thai food. The Thai yellow chicken curry is amazing. I've found out late though that the Pad Thai and other variations of this meal have started to lack the flavour punch it used to have.
Pak kee maw is my favorite dish and was cooked with love and fresh ingredients. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant in Ottawa and will surely order again whenever I am in town.
Small family owned business. Food is fantastic. Pad Thai made with tamarind sauce and not ketchup like other less authentic Thai restaurants. Friendly and quick service on their patio.
My mom and I absolutely love this place. We've gotten the wrong order a number of times when ordering online unfortunately, getting beef instead of chicken. This has happened 3 times. Otherwise great restaurant and would give 5 stars. Definitely recommend ordering between 11am-3pm for their lunch time menu because it's cheaper and comes with rice so that you don't have to order rice separately.
Thai Lanna is hands down my new favorite Thai place! I had the Green Curry with chicken and i instantly melted with the first bite! The veggies were so fresh and the sauce was perfect. The portions were AMAZING for the price! 10/10 recommend!
Went for a takeout with SkipTheDishes and overall excellent experience! I’m from Barrhaven and I went this far for a takeout. Food was right on time when I arrived, the background of staff signals that the taste is authentic, and food was packed very well. With a drive back very far to home, I ensured I brought my insulated bag and placed my takeout inside to keep warm. Pad Thai and Curry tasted delicious, even though it was a long drive home while I brought it. Judging by the taste, I would’ve been super full if I dined in restaurant. Would 10/10 recommend, easily the best Thai restaurant in the city, and I can’t wait for another visit, but in person dining!
Amazing food! The depth of flavour that goes into every dish surprises me everytime. The Pad Thai is among one of the best I've had - it has all the flavours but didn't feel greasy or heavy. If you love Thai food, this place is a must try.
Lovely small family business that is worth supporting. Delicious food (believe ve me, I can cook, so I can tell). Beef pad kee maw mwaaaah. As well as other dishes.
The red Thai curry was PHENOMENAL that dish alone is a 20/10 rating. We also loved the veggy spring rolls. The portion for the pad Thai was huge. Overall the whole experience was a 5/5. We will order here again.
My grandparents have been ordering from them for years. I just tried it tonight and it was delicious. Staff was really friendly and their online ordering option was very user friendly.
Best Thai food in Ottawa. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and excellent flavours. Most food containers are recyclable too. Our #1 go to takeout food during this lockdown!
We ordered from Lana Thai tonight and it was probably the worst thai food we have had. The pad thai was tasteless and the green curry had raw vegetables. Very disappointed and we definitely won't be back.
Just had an amazing take-home meal from this restaurant, I have nothing but good things to say. I ordered the Tofu Eggplant and the veggie spring role, both were 10/10. Lovely service - they also followed covid measures which was nice.
I've been here twice now and the first time I was content, ordered the light ginger meal for lunch to-go. The second time I went it was later in the day, I ordered the same meal on the dinner menu. It was definitely overpriced and much less flavourful. Spring rolls were soggy and came with honey as a sauce (I think, didn't taste like anything else). Also, the server was pretty dismissive of me for no apparent reason. I don't think I'll bother in the future.
A small and cozy restaurant with amazing flavors. The Tom Kha soup with chicken (lemongrass and coconut milk) is so delicious I had a second bowl. I also had the paneng dried red curry (chicken breast in spicy peanut sauce) which was excellent! I consider this restaurant a hidden gem, great service and excellent food. I definitely will return many times. If you are looking for a good Thai food restaurant look no further, the Thai Lanna is the place to go.
Price extremly high for how much food u get. The food is about 7/10. Lower price woll keep your customer back other wise last time for me. Pad thai 19 after tax. Most places 12 to 15 the most.
What an amazing local resto! Everything I ate was fantastic so was service and everyone working in the establishment! I am sooooo curious on how they get the coconut broth soo yummy! Defintiely coming back!
Authentic Thai food - I cannot believe they had Khao Soi! I've been looking for this dish since I had it in Chiang Mai in 2006. The Pad Thai is also unbeatable. Friendly staff, clean restaurant, and nice music/atmosphere.
Food is great and the staff is friendly. The location is a little tiny so don't be surprised if you show up during peak times and the restaurant is full. Recommend the chicken cashew, the chicken pad siew (sp?) and the fried rice dishes. Easiest to order the dishes by number to avoid any confusion. Nice place for a quiet date night. Recommended.
We are new to Ottawa and were searching for a great Thai restaurant. The search is over! Fresh. Delicious. Quaint restaurant. Friendly owners. Quality and care matter. Our new Thai home!
