Thai Room Scarborough

DO NOT GO! I would give a 0/5 if I could. I ordered take out curry pad thai. Within second or third bite I felt something weird in my throat and proceeded to cough up a piece of aluminum foil or some metal wire (see picture). ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I called back and the guy had the audacity to tell me he’s not sure and was accusing me of lying LOL don’t waste your time. Instead of handling the matter he continued to brush it off asking me to call back, send pictures to a number then proceeded to tell me its the wrong number. I asked him if they could just refund me or send me back my money but he continued to imply I was lying. I got frustrated and asked for my money back and he told me I had to go back in as it can only go back to my card. So I made the 20 minute trip back and the same guy was still there and did not a say word. He did not apologize or anything. He stood there in silence while someone else refunded me. The least he could do was apologize as that was literally disgusting. After 3 failed attempts at trying to refund back to my card I was given cash and no apology. Im extremely disappointed by the food but the service was even worse.

The owner called me and began with asking me to take down the review. Literally no apology first. He proceeded to guilt trip me with saying how this will affect the business and his employees salary. If he was genuinely sorry this wouldn’t have even come up. He would not even let me speak and continued to cut me off on numerous accounts. The gentleman who helped me was clearly not new because I originally told someone else my compliant over the phone who then passed me on to the rude individual so Im assuming is a manager. Even if this person is new they clearly are in an authorative role and handled the situation horribly. Im genuinely extremely disappointed with the service more than anything clearly the place does not care about your comfort. I stand by my review. Don’t waste your time!

We ordered takeout. The food was amazing. Portions were very generous as well we will definitely be ordering again!

I usually order the Malay curry and mango sticky rice for takeout. Even though the curry is too salty and the sticky rice tastes too much like brown sugar, I'm always satisfied. I like that I can get lamb here and they're not too stingy with the shrimp when I go with that. It's still hot by the time it gets home with me, and the portions are big enough for a few meals. Leftover curry is always good and this is no exception, so it's perfect for takeout.

Got take out and had the worst pad thai ever. The pad thai was so sour it felt like I’m eating noodles dipped in ketchup: (They must have poured too much vinegar to the sauce. And grilled steak was really tough too. Pretty disappointed.

Tried this cuisine for the first time. Food came warm. Bought vege and chicken, mango salad and vegetable pasta

*Update *years later 2023 Nov: Pleasant service.they went above and beyond to help my toddler. Had to have the mango salad again of course. Thai noodles + basil chicken

I found thai room decent, but not outstanding. It lacked authentic Thai that I'm accustomed to. The dishes seemed to be Indian/Canadian infused and influenced, mainly the customers and chefs were Indian/south asian with Thai staff…. This may have influenced the flavouring and authenticity in my opinion…

The dishes had generous amounts, but the dicing resulted in large chunks of meats and vegetables. Despite that, the food presentation was good and the restaurant looked great.

Unfortunately it was overpriced and expensive. I ordered the pad Thai and basil lamb. Came out for almost $60cad.

Ate dinner at this gem last night. Service was prompt and friendly, food was excellent and reasonably priced. They need to add coffee to the beverage service though. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to grand thai room which is really good.thought I would give this place a try. It’s not very thai, or at least they try to be thai food. The pad thai was very saggy. They put bare minimum too it basically like noodle and just sauce. Not really impressed, I never usually complain about food but this is not it, your better of going to Jatujak on Vp

A good Thai restaurant tucked away from the main road.
Didn’t know of this place, and happen to find it on Google—so we tried it out. Was quite impressed with the food.
We tried the Thai shrimp roll, chicken pad Thai and golden curry shrimp. Every single dish was a burst of delicious flavours in your mouth.
Our server was nice, but she was constantly on her phone.
The atmosphere was nice, booths were comfy and gives you that “stay a while” kinda vibe.
Would definitely go back!

Went to the Thai Room for the 1st time for lunch. The chicken pad Thai was delicious. Lots of sauce and topped with fresh, crispy vegetables. Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu.

We did some work on the fire sprinkler system in the now pharmacy, near this restaurant. We had lunch there almost every day it was so good.
I live in Ajax. I've gone back there multiple times for take out
when I'm passing by going home. Foods always very good to excellent, good portions and price is not expensive compared to what you get.

Great food, great staff and nice restaurant. Highly recommend anyone that wants good Thai and Malay food. So good!

Ordered Lamb Malay curry, it was spicy but found it really salty.
Service needs improvement. Made reservation a week ago for a party of 8 but we were rushed out coz a party of 12 “walked in. ” Not the best experience. Will not be recommending or returning to this location.

Enjoyed our dinner here the other night with the family. Hostess was very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us out as one of our kids has a cashew allergy.

Good portions and great taste - lunch menu was great! And amazing variety of mini dishes to be shared with a large group!
