Thames Valley Midwives

I am so thankful to have had Thames valley midwives with all my 3 births. They were such a great support and always available when I had questions. Jessica Riley was at all 3 births and I couldn't have done it without her. We also had amazing experience with Lissette & Esther. Would 100% recommend them without hesitation!

My midwife was very sweet but the receptionist has some issues and is very unpleasant to deal with. My file was closed after I was simply inquiring about how to figure out appointment times that work for me.

It is a shame as lissette was a wonderful caretaker and I was trying to work with their hours but was shut down pretty quickly.

I do not recommend unless you can handle an overly emotional receptionist who is very passive aggressive.

And yes Monica, for the fourth time, I did read your email.

I've had such great care here with both of my pregnancies. The staff were so caring and incredibly helpful with any questions I had from the moment I found out I was pregnant right through the 6 weeks post-partum. I felt calm and prepared for my delivery and everything went so well. I'm so excited to be back now with them for my second pregnancy!

We called with a projected due date of March 2023 and the lady on the phone said that they would have an opening. After not hearing from them for almost 2 months we called and they said that they do not have an opening at all. What a waste of time.

My experience with Thames Valley Midwives was exceptional. My main midwife Joy Malcolm provided me with most incredible source of support and encouragement through my pregnancy and postpartum journey. Jessica Tarka,

With my first daughter I was followed by an OB so the second time around I knew I wanted to have a midwife if possible. Let me tell you that it was the best decision we could have made! It was a night and day difference. I was under the care of Esther and Lissette, and they were both so attentive, caring, and very knowledgeable. They were very accessible and I loved that they actually kept me on the same page —explaining everything that they did or any tests I had and everything in between. I also really appreciate that they follow both the baby and mama for 6 weeks after birth because that’s definitely a time when we need a lot of support. Thankyou so much TVM for everything, and being a part of bringing our second baby girl into the world ️

I had my first child under the care of Thames Valley Midwives. The experience exceeded my expectations.

We were under the care of Jessica R. And Esther. Their expertise, emotional support, reassurance, and prenatal care made my entire pregnancy and delivery an amazing experience.

Each appointment left myself and my partner feeling informed and more prepared for this next chapter in our lives. I was impressed and grateful with the level of care provided; the appointments were comprehensive and I never felt rushed or that any questions or concerns were left unanswered.

Throughout my pregnancy, the hours leading up to delivery, during my delivery and in the weeks after Jess and Esther were a phone call away; responding within minutes.

I can not say enough about how truly amazing my experience was. For anyone considering their services; you will be forever grateful that you decided to be under the care of Thames Valley Midwives.

I had Jessie T.and Joy as my midwives in 2021.
I delivered in Dec. 2021. I could write forever taking about all the positive experiences I had with my midwives but I’ll keep it short.

Jessie was incredibly empathetic and attentive during all my prenatal visits. I also felt heard and had her complete focus. She is so kind and caring and was a perfect match for my pregnancy.

Joy Malcolm delivered my daughter. We built a relationship during my last few appointments and that was very important. She was knowledgeable, caring and calm during the few days leading up to my delivery as well as the day I delivered. I always felt important and prioritized. She made me feel empowered and committed during my labour. She was the perfect midwife to help me deliver.

I am very grateful for both Jessie and Joy and I miss seeing them. I would recommend Thames Valley Midwives for any expecting persons. I loved every part of my experiences with them.

Had my first baby with Thames Valley Midwives - so happy I decided to go with them!

I was under the care of Yuefang Liu, Hayley Ross, Christine Geiger and Jenni Sullivan.

These women are absolute professionals and experts. I deeply appreciated their guidance and support throughout the entire process. The postpartum care was exceptional - my entry to motherhood would've been very rough without them.

I've had the privilege of being with Thames Valley Midwives for all 5 of my boys care. Their office environment is unmatched with any other receptionists. While we always felt welcome and cared for, we became especially fond of our midwife whom we met for the first time when I was pregnant with baby #3, Jessica Raison. He was our rainbow baby and I had a very nervous pregnancy. Every step of the way Jess very lovingly reassured my concerns, always making me feel validated and never a nuisance. My labour experience with Jess was one I can only describe as "calm". Her confident nature in the delivery room gave me the comfort I needed to have a successful birth. Weeks after his birth, our boy ended up in the hospital with RSV. Jess happened to be on vacation while he was in the hospital but one of the very first things she did after getting off the plane, was come and check in on us while we were still there. She always goes above and beyond.
We were privileged to be in her care for our next two babies. We knew that while in Jess' care we wouldn't just be a "patient" but from previous experience we knew that our baby was loved. Fast forward to our last delivery and it was one I would describe as difficult. Having 4 previous easy deliveries, this one lent its fair share of curveballs. I ended up having to have an emergency c-section because baby was breech. Jess never left my side, and when I was scared about who would be with him after she never left his side. I dont think I could have been as brave as I was without her guiding us through this very foreign experience. She has a very nurturing demeanor along with a type confidence that reassures you that she will do her very best to make sure you have the best care for you and your babe. We are so thankful to Thames Valley Midwives for helping us bring our precious boys in to the world.

I used Thames Valley Midwives back in 2020 for my first baby. I experienced excellent care from my midwife and felt very comfortable with everything in place during covid. I was very pleased that every time I called to ask a question or change an appointment the receptionist was very helpful and would always return my call in a timely manner. I was nervous of course for my delivery but felt so supported in my home birth by both midwives who attended my birth. I was very lucky to be able to have a home birth. The after hours service was phenomenal always called you back within seconds. I loved the home experience and being able to be in the comfort of home. The after care for baby and I was wonderful! I loved the house calls for the first few checks but also enjoyed coming into the office once little one was bigger. I would highly recommend Thames valley Midwives.

I had Dominique Guerin and Rebecca Thompson and they were AMAZING loved them! Felt super comfortable with them. Made it a very smooth transition to motherhood and made sure I felt confident and informed.

I love Thames Valley Midwives. I was seen by Sara, Hailey and Jessica during the course of my pregnancy, and my labor. They were all incredible. I had planned for a home birth but ended up with a c section after two days of labor, and at every step I knew without a doubt that their first thought was for the safety of my baby and me. My baby is five weeks old and soon I will be released from their care, and it's been so lovely that I will be sad when that time comes.

I had a wonderful experience at Thames Valley Midwives!

First, I must mention my midwife, Hayley. While I only got to meet her a handful of times before birth (as she was on mat leave for majority of my pregnancy) she didn’t skip a beat from the first appointment. She was incredibly personable and provided great advice both before and after birth. She treated me with patience and respect during labour when I couldn’t believe I was STILL only in early labour, and gave me options throughout the progression of my birth. She was never judgemental about my questions, concerns, or choices and helped me feel at ease through the process.

Next, the other midwives. Since my primary was on mat leave, I met with a few different midwives throughout my pregnancy. Most of the time I met with either Jessica or Rebecca. Both were incredibly kind and conducted themselves in the same open, compassionate and patient manner that made my first experience such a pleasure.

I only had one appointment changed I believe, but I was contacted as soon as they could and they were great at getting me in as soon as possible. The midwives can be at a birth at any time, so really I was pleasantly surprised it was only the once!

The location isn’t the greatest, especially in the winter. Unfortunately the city is terrible at plowing/icing the sidewalks, which can make for slippery conditions. It’s out of the control of the centre and it’s a shame that the city doesn’t take it more seriously because of the clientele that they have. Hopefully that changes in future.

I will recommend Thames Valley Midwives to everyone I know, and look forward to hopefully being under their care for any future pregnancies. Thank you once again!

I have had two babies with these midwives and experienced the direct care in labour and delivery from of at least 4 of these women. They are wonderful, the best and most attentive care for me and my babies! Can't say enough good things!

I can't say enough good about Thames Valley Midwives! Loraina and Theresa were amazing, and you can't beat the level of preparation and postpartum care!

In Jan 2018 I went in for a check up around 13 weeks pregnant with my third child. The midwife could not hear the heartbeat. She set me up for an emergency ultrasound. I was upset. The admin scheduled my ultrasound. She gave me the wrong location. It was very stressful and painful to hold my urine and race across town. It turned out I had miscarried. That may seem like an honest mistake but I question whether it was intentional because during the pregnancy of my second child I had an indecent with the same admin, she rescheduled my appoint the morning on the day it was scheduled (like an hour before) because there was no other appointments that morning and she didn't want to come in early. She actually told me that on the phone. I had a 3 year old at home and I ran my own business. It was inconvenient and disrespectful. I also took issue that same pregnancy with her because she told me I could park out front and I got a ticket because I wasn't allowed to during that time. She lied to the midwives when I told them about her actions. She still works there. I love my midwives but the admin person scares me. Some people are just not good people even if they pretend to be.

My experience with TVMs was exceptional. Since day one they provided me with the upmost attention and professional advice as I navigated the pregnancy and my options for birth. I saw many different midwives, and each had their own style and approach. My hospital delivery couldn't have been better thanks to the support and expertise of the midwives! Not to mention the personal home visits after birth where I was able to ask all my questions about feeding with one on one attention. If you are looking for a personalized care experience I highly recommend TVM! Thank you Theressa, Esther, Jenny, Jessica R, Hailey, Loraina and admin team for all of your hard work and attention.

Almost be killed by those midwifes! My suggestion is never use any midwifes. The most horrible moment for my family.
