I first went to the Animal Clinic when I moved to Toronto 8 years ago. I brought with me a very loving pooch who turned into a snarling beast when handled by vets and vet techs. My aunt, a long time client, recommend The Animal Clinic as she too had an ornery dog and they could handle his drama. I decided to give them a shot and brought Connor there. And I never left. Right up until the day he passed they were a wonderful clinic. They made a point of greeting us when we came in. The vets always explained everything thoroughly. They never held back on giving opinions either.

The day Connor passed sucked. He developed dementia and we knew it was the end. Dr. Chris was so kind and just wonderful through the whole process. She gave Connor the love and attention he deserved and she gave us big hugs when he was gone.

I left the clinic when I got my puppy as I found a place that offered cheap shots and exams for pups. Well, you get what you pay for.

The Animal Clinic is fully accessible for animals and humans. They have hydraulic tables so there’s no lifting of larger animals on to tables. Stella, my girl, will be going back for her boosters when she’s one. I regret leaving wholeheartedly.

Edit: as my girl has gotten older (she’s now 2.5) I’m so grateful to have this clinic in my life. They really are top notch clinicians who have the best interest of your beloved family member top of mind. They are conservative in their approaches when other vets may order expensive tests. They do push the heart worm test which I always decline but after I say no they drop it.

My last dog started limping one day and it was clear he was in a lot of discomfort. I took him in and the vet sat on the floor with him and just palpated around his knee diagnosing a torn ligament. He could feel it. The could have easily declared that he needed an X-ray and I would have happily paid it. Nope. He healed up and eventually developed arthritis which is normal. And I saved time and money and the stress on my dog. This place is a gem.

Edit 2 to shout out to the employees who helped us through some very difficult times: Eric (tech extraordinaire), Carla (front desk), Dr. Forgione, and Dr. Richardson. Vets that have moved on: Dr. Chris and Dr. Ivanhoff.

I love this vet clinic. The staff are very caring and friendly. Whenever we take our cat and dog to them, we are confident they are in good hands.
