I have been there for breakfast and dinner many times. The quality of the food never disappoints. The only negative is that the wait times for your food can be a bit long. But in my opinion, it is worth the wait. Highly recommend.
Excellent location for a bite to eat.food is delicious with great portions, staff are always welcoming even when it is very busy. I also have friends that each had their Xmas gatherings here and the staff made each party a wonderfully warm and fun experience! Cheers Looking forward to eating here again
European cuisine at its best. We started with a marvelous red lentil soup ($8) dotted with roasted carrots and parsnips. My perfectly cooked flat-iron steak ($34) was adorned with blue cheese and sautéed onions melting into a brown sauce. An "Alp" of mashed potatoes encircled by perfect root vegetables completed the plate. My friend's lamb shank ($34) yielded fall- off-the-bone meat in rich gravy accompanied by the same sides Devine! For dessert, apple strudel with whipped cream. Not too sweet with thin, light pastry. Attentive service. Relaxed dining for two hours! Don't miss this!
The Apricot Tree is a fantastic place to have a coffee, lunch of full supper. I have been a patron since it opened many years ago. I encourage everyone to visit this establishment characterized for the high quality of the food prepared on site
I love this place! I've been here twice for dinner and most recently for a spontaneous lunch - called maybe 15 minutes ahead and spoke with someone who was happy to hold a table for us. Upon arrival, each person we encountered was friendly and attentive. The apricot mimosas are such a treat, and the wiener schnitzel is quite yummy. It's also worth upgrading your salad to the apricot variety
One of their machines for payments was faulty and charged my card twice. They handled it very professionally and with a lot of care and attention to see to it that I got my money back. Overall, great service and food came out very quickly and was cooked well!
I visited this busy place on a quiet day, I really enjoyed sitting on a patio, having my lemon strawberry crepe and late. I also tried the Club house sandwich and it was great. Food here is tasty and it is not my first visit here. I like this European style of kitchen, their cakes are amazing as well as their ice cream. Servers are busy, but do the best to provide a good service.
We drove from Etobicoke to Mississauga because of an ad we saw in a local German paper. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed our Wiener Schnitzel, the coffee was nice and strong, and they have a marvelous assortment of pastries. I am sure we will be back.
I can’t believe I’ve never tried this place before! The food was very good and the service was excellent. The small patio was very quaint and the perfect spot for a quiet weekend brunch.
Not sure about breakfast but lunch while decent was quite lackluster and lacking. The beef and duck sandwiches had very little meat and more of cabbage and vegetables. Trout was a small portion and lacked a seasoning or sauce, quite dry and simple.
Breakfast might be better, apricot mimosa was quite good, saving grace of our meal.
I feel bad making this review because it’s a cute local place but wow. So bad. The service is always incredibly slow - there is always new staff and no one ever knows what they are doing. You will stand at the takeout counter forever waiting for someone to help you, food takes forever if you are dining in, they don’t ever know details of their menu items - it’s just always a mess. Food is okay, not great. Interior isn’t great either. Their only redeeming quality is being a cute local neighbourhood spot. There are definitely better places around.
I came in a few days ago based on the other reviews. I must say that the food is great - my party ordered a wide variety of items on the menu and they were all prepared well, portion sizes were large for the price, and the taste was great.
Parking was easy to find (in a small plaza with a big parking lot). The restaurant itself is spacious and you definitely do not feel cramped while dining inside. They were very proud to advertise the fact that the air inside is filtered and very clean, and I would agree - the air felt fresh and smells did not linger around.
On this trip, I did not get a chance to try the desserts; however, I would do it again some other time. I did drop one star as the service was slow (water was not filled, hard to get the check, etc.) I was not sure if it was that it was in the evening and getting close to their closing time, or if they were short-staffed that night.
If you're in the area and are looking for a good dinner with good portions and flavors, I'd definitely recommend a visit here.
Very nice place. I have been at this restaurant many times, always perfect food and an amazing service. Employees are very very friendly. It's super clean. I highly recommend it.
Kudos for keeping patrons and staff safe from COVID by filtering your indoor air during this pandemic. The only question is: why aren't all restaurants (and all businesses) doing this?
Really good breakfast. We got the mushroom panini, eggs Florentine and the omelette. Also, smoothies and fresh pressed juice to go along with it. All items were amazing. We even tried the apple pastry and it was great as well.
A very nice menu. All the classics with a European touch. A nice assortment of baked goods and desserts. Went there for breakfast recently the Benedict was delicious.
It is a nice multi-national cuisine restaurant, though Austrian foods are mostly available. We went there for our University group outing. It is a nice place, they also have an indoor air purifier for protection from COVID.
Good food, too many Reserved tables with no one dining from 12 - 1 pm. We were stuck know a corner as a result. Will not dine there unless we reserve first.
We really enjoy going here. Food is quite good. Service isn't always stellar but I'm finding that's the case most places now. So many restaurants lost their staff during covid, and are struggling to retrain
I have been going to this restaurant since I was twelve, it's still amazing. Their food is awesome their price point is astounding and their dessert is still phenomenal! It should truly be considered a fine dining restaurant.
This lovely cafe was my go-to place when looking for special meals for my parents during COVID times. Their food is generous and yummy and my parents always felt spoiled. So grateful to see they continue to protect their staff and customers with their COVID protocols. We'll use them often!
I will go back…. To try the apple pork crapes and Wiener Schnitzel. We started with the Warm Brie Tart and it was amazing. For the mains, we had the lobster crapes that were delicious and the short ribs that were ok. I saw the Wiener Schnitzel and it looked amazing and heard a lady say it was better than what she had in Germany. We did not have desert but it also looking delicious. Nice little place that could use a facelift inside. They are very covid conscious and require vax documents and spent big $$ on air purifiers. It was good!
Went here for the crepefest and had a few great crepes. The dessert crepes were definitely much better than the dinner crepes that we had. We were missing the atmosphere when they used to actually have trees inside as part of the decor. Everything was clean and the waiting service was very friendly. A bit more on the expensive side for crepes but great overall experience.
Tried this place after hearing about how they're addressing indoor air quality issues to limit the spread of covid. The food was great and the staff were very friendly.
To reply to the owner's response to my original review where I called him out for Discrimination.
For something to qualify as discrimination, you do not have to have used explicit racial remarks. The fact that someone is denied service because their ID is from a different country that is not Canada and are told to go get a Canadian ID speaks volumes about what discrimination goes on.
To all your false accusations and lies about me and my friend removing our masks any time during us being inside the cafe, yes, by all means, please present us with screenshots from your security surveillance cameras. I too would like to see when I was not wearing a mask/ removed it.
Once I entered, I admit I tried seeing where my friend was seated and because the cafe was noisy I did not hear you call me but the moment I saw and heard you, I immediately came back and I apologized twice for not being able to hear you, to which you replied there was no problem. It is bizarre to see how easily you are falsifying events just to save face.
My friend, in her comment mentioned that I was from Pakistan. Never at any point did she say anything about my English. How can you equate me being from Pakistan to not speaking English well? Now you tell me how that is not racism? Plus I spoke with you at the cafe in English too but it took me writing a post for you to realize I can speak English well is beyond me.
I wonder why you do not recall me showing you two other IDs and not JUST a student ID; International Drivers License and Pakistani ID card. Again, by all means check the footage, I would love to see screenshots of this too.
If you recall, you had a full conversation with my friend, where you asked her how long she is staying in Canada for (which is extremely irrelevant to her dinning there) and once she told you she lived here you told her that she needs to get a Canadian Vaccine certificate.
It is amusing to see that you diverted the whole conversation to make false accusations and spit lies and never once addressed the actual problem: When the Ontario Public Health does not have a problem with the vaccination certificate, no other restaurant, cafe, university, indoor/outdoor facility and even doctors clinics do not have a problem with it, why is it a problem at your cafe?
And just to reiterate, the Vaccine rules state that the first name, last name and date of birth of the person on the vaccination documentation should match that on the non-Canadian ID for all out of province individuals. All of this matched for me across my Vaccine Certificate and my ID and I read that to you from the very document that you showed me. So, if you are not following the Government of Canada's rules what rules are you following? When I asked you that if I were to call Ontario Public health (who were the ones to give out this notification) tell them my vaccination details and they approved them, then would I be allowed to dine at your cafe? You replied No, I will still not be able to dine there.
Sadly, it is clear from your responses to all other critical reviews of your cafe, that you do not respond well to being called out and customer service definitely is not a priority so I guess it is hopeless to assume that humanity would be. Have a nice day!
So delicious! In the midst of covid restrictions and the loss of business due to this crazy, never-ending pandemic, the quality of food was supreme and the friendliness of the staff was top-notch! My eggs benedict were one of the best I've ever eaten. My partner, who's vegetarian, said the same. She substituted her peameal bacon with sauteed mushrooms. We got our roasted potatoes extra crispy - and they were cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. The side of fruit was a nice array of strawberries, cantaloupe and honeydew and unbelievably favorable, tender & juicy for this time of the year. Definitely quality ingredients and a chef who knows their stuff! A lovely discovery on the west end of GTA. We will definitely be back. Oh - and for the environmentally-friendly or super health conscious, they use paper containers with recyclable lids and Oxo-Biodegradable plastic bags. (The bags - new to me. It means it's biodegradable and over time will genuinely disappear into the earth like a fallen leaf ~ per the Mgfr.)
Take out was very good: the schnitzel and the lobster crepe. Everything that I have had there over 25 years has been really good, and worth paying the little extra for.
Service was alright but food? I must have waited at least an hour before my food arrived.
I could tell at least my server was new and they were trying their best, but the service does not help the poor and tasteless food served at this place. If they are a café they should dedicate their time to coffee and desserts, because as for main meals, id rather go to a burger king
I am giving apricot tree 2 stars because of the poor service and the mediocre food, we had on Sunday november 28. Firstly we ordered cappuccino.very simple.we were given worst coffee. One of the waiters immediately realized and replaced with new ones. Our waitress a young lady was very nice but seemed to be working under lots of pressure. I think apricot tree you need to provide your staff with better training specially.listen to your customers.put a smile on your face, customers dont go to eat out to feel punished by restaurant staff. We tried to be nice to the young lady and guess what we apologized for complaining about the coffee and apologized for ordering desert.seemed too much requests.wow she really did make us feel guilty. So Apricot tree.we had terrible time struggling with the nice young lady, food was at its worst, and we still didnt have our cappuccinos
Nice little gem here! I ordered the eggs rosti and it was amazing! The fruit that comes with breakfast is a perfect blend of various fruits. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the rosti was delicious! I will definitely return to this place to try out more of the menu items.
Although I have never eaten here, the owner of this restaurant was on City TV showing the new Hepa Air Filter he installed into his business. As a person that suffers from agoraphobia, if I need to eat on my long journey up North to Hamton, I will definitely seek this establishment out. Thank you for taking care of your customers health, I can imagine your food is awesome. See you in the future
We were served by the owner and ordered from their lunch menu for take out. While we waiting for our food - we were offered coffee! The food and the coffee were delicious! Highly recommend this place great food with a cozy atmosphere.
Offer an app with a free birthday meal, recently changed their lay out and menu which has its benefits (larger space) and draw backs (no more shrimp rose crepe)
I often order online a streusel to be sent to my parents. Elegantly wrapped and a perfect gift. Thank you!
The food is very good. I have been there a few times and all is good. But this Sunday the service was so slow. I was even excited to bring people there and was disappointed that day. I can rate the food 5 stars but service 2 stars. I think the servers need more training. I do understand probably they are new cuz it is hard to find help right now.
Had supper last week and lunch today. The food was excellent. The staff kind and helpful, very efficient in the service. I most of the time select their daily special section. This is an gem in our city.
Disappointed. Went for lunch today (Sep 3) with my family at 2: 20pm and were told at the door that they were closing at 3: 30pm. I have checked their hours and thought we were safe as their website indicated they were open until 8pm today.
This is a very quaint European Cafe, the food is delicious, very clean inside, the patio is lovely with real gardens around the seating areas, the service is very efficient and the staff are wonderful.
My first dining experience since the beginning of the pandemic. I did not have a reservation, but was seated pretty quickly. The server he was great, wore his mask properly. He did wonderfully and did an excellent job. The food as always was excellent. I do recommend the apricot salad and the quiche.
Best coffee with 1 refill. Wonderful cakes and parties. The quiche and crêpes are excellent. Our server was a delightful young man who was friendly, quick, and very attentive.
Great food! Very cute ambiance and the service was quick/friendly. It’s a tad on the pricier side but overall a great restaurant. The croissants are very yummy!
The food was good, the desserts were even better. I felt the menu was a tad bit limited, but whatever they do, they do well. Went with a large group so we ordered many different dishes and everything looked good. The service was great too. Loved the patio.
A very cute cafe perfect for a brunch spot. We normally take our 1 year old daughter there and the restaurant is super baby friendly! Food is always good.recently the service has been very slow but that’s mainly because of staff shortage. As long as you are not in any rush.this is the perfect place to enjoy food with your loved ones!
Apricot tree is one of the premier restaurants in Mississauga. Their customer service is unmatched. We love their delicious food and ambiance.keep it up guys.
Very disappointed honestly: ( My very first experience visiting this cafe for take-out and I feel really let down. I ordered the quinoa chicken salad which was actually a hot salad (was not mentioned anywhere on the menu) and had so much melted cheese. It had an off-putting smell so I only had a few bites and threw it out. I also had the soup of the day which was sweet potato and red pepper. It was okay, nothing special. The bread it came with was pretty much melted to the plastic wrap when I opened it at work because they wrapped hot toasted bread in plastic wrap! The pastries were probably the only thing I would actually recommend ordering. Wanted to love it but this just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Located on the south east corner of Dundas Street West and King Forrest Drive in Sherwood Forrest Shopping Village. Great crepes and desserts. Pricing is high, about $50, for two crepes and a soup.
My wife and I made lunch reservations to celebrate our 56th wedding anniversary on August 28th. It was obvious upon arriving that there was a staff shortage. We later learned they were operating with less than half. We indicated that we were in no hurry, just wanting to enjoy the time.
However, as it turned out, there was not an exceptional delay with our ordering or food arrival. The food was amazing.smoked salmon crossaint, weiner schnitzel, coffee and slices of outstanding cake.
We have been take out & dine-in customers since The Apricot Tree first opened and have NEVER been disappointed.
There was one disturbing situation while we were there, a 4 person party arrived, without a reservation, and gave the staff extended grief. Really! I wonder where they have been the last 16 months!
Cudos to The April Tree management & staff.for the great job you're doing in adverse circumstances!
We had my cousin's baby shower at The Apricot Tree Cafe and they exceeded all of our expectations! Franz was very helpful answering all of my questions and responded quickly through email. The staff was so friendly and helpful on the day of our event. We were able to set up our decorations with ease and the place looked amazing! The food was delicious and our guest were raving about how amazing the food was as they ate. We will definitely be going back to eat there and for our future events. Thank you for making our event such a success!
The perfect coffee and the most delicious cake you will ever try! I had the raspberry hazelnut mouse and it was amazing! Prices are reasonable as well!
My best friends and I had a terrific brunch. The staff were very pleasant and the food was amazing. There were so many choices and we decided on the Eggs Benedict and we loved it. This was my first time, but I will definitely be back!
I thought this was a great restaurant and definitely recommend it, especially for lunches. I went for lunch with my family and got the Spicy Seafood Linguini with a cappuccino. Both the linguini and the cappuccino both looked and tasted great. I love seafood and pasta so seafood pasta is always a no-brainer for me. It had shrimp, scallops, fish, mushrooms, and spinach. We also shared a chicken club cobb salad and an apricot salad. One thing about the food is that they are usually relatively simple dishes, but they look really nice when plated. I don't 100% recommend the apricot salad (not that it was very bad, just nothing outstanding) but I really enjoyed and recommend the chicken club cob salad. For dessert, we got the baked Alaskan, the palatschinken (a crepe with apricot jam and apricot ginger ice cream), the Tobleron cake, and the lemon raspberry roulade. I'm usually one who goes for chocolate desserts over fruity desserts, but the lemon raspberry roulade was like an explosion of flavour! Also, a note about the baked Alaskan is that, on the day I went, which was July 24th, because of covid, they don't torch it with fire right in front of you, but they torch it before serving it to you. My server, Bronwyn, was really sweet. She noticed that I was wearing a "Gros Morne Newfoundland" shirt and pointed out that she was from Newfoundland. Overall, I was really happy with my experience at Apricot Tree and want to come again soon. This is a great place to go for a date or for a simple lunch. It is relatively pricey, mind you, but a cool idea would even be to just go for salads, coffee-related drinks, and dessert. (pictures of my experience are added).
I needed to kill a few minutes and went there for a cup of coffee. It was made exactly to my order, and was just the right temperature, and taste. Restaurant was very clean, and inviting. I am sure, I'll visit again.
