The Berwick Bistro and Lounge

Went there with a friend. We both had the burger. Straight out of the gate the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had it was delicious, substantial, cooked perfectly. The fries were also very very good. The salad was good tasty, but extremely small. One of us had as a side instead of the fries. Lots of fries as a side but the salad was really small. When you’re spending $25 for a deluxe burger combo, even if you substitute, it should be relatively the same as the substitution in terms of size. But overall, it was very delicious and I would definitely give it five stars for the food.

Very comfortable. And it’s missing some ambience.
My biggest complaint would probably just be the server. Was not friendly or personable, and I would never be able to tell he was a server… I mean, I think it’s a little more upscale their prices reflect that, put a name tag, do something to make yourself look like a proud employee…no white running shoes and jeans.
But I would go back for the burger alone lol

Love this place and it never disappoints. I think I actually dream about their brussel sprouts and mousse cake:). Options for all kinds of eaters, highly recommend.

We loved the ambience, music and feel of the restaurant. The food was quite good and was different from other restaurants in an interesting way. My steak was overcooked but they took it back and the second time they made it it was fabulous. Wine was priced very fairly and was delicious. Our server acted as if we were a nuisance to him. Perhaps he was having a bad day but we wonder if we will be back because we don't want to be treated that way again. It was my husband's birthday so it was a special occasion to us which our server certainly dimmed.

Got take out here. Wasn’t impressed with the portion size of the chips, or the chips for that matter. Your run of the mill kind of pub chip. These two portions cost 50 bucks. Not worth it in my opinion but maybe it’s different dining in.

I loved the vibe. Sweet little place. Very busy. The service was fine. Nothing noteworthy. Part of my steak was chewy and the other end was tender. I would have liked my 4 pieces of asparagus more favourful and cooked a bit more and double. I would have liked more veggies and/or a potato. The cauliflower puree was very tasty. The wine selection was lovely. The dessert = fabulous. Sticky toffee spice cake with banana cream. I will return for sure. I understand the vegan and veggie options are very tasty. A great option for a fine meal in Downtown Georgetown.

The Cesar salad was delicious. The mushroom quinoa burger was overly salty. The ambiance was nice as were the staff.

Great meal! Lots of gluten free options, the duck was great and the burger was wonderful! Good size portions, and great Elaine selection. We will definitely be returning!

Nice quiet spot in downtown Georgetown. My wife is allergic to cow's milk, wheat, eggs and most fruit so she usually struggles to find options. They had some nice options and were willing to prepare most anything so she could eat it. She even had a nice chocolate moose for dessert.

I've enjoyed this restaurant on date night and then followed up with friends, family and neighbours. In groups of 2 - 8 service has always been attentive and helpful. Confident. The menu is unique in its diversity and well executed offering up something for everyone regardless of dietary wants and needs. Both casual and elegant, the atmosphere is just right.

The wife and I did a date night at Berwick Bistro and Lounge this past weekend. We were welcomed at the front by the owner and a staff member. We were then promptly seated. It's a cute spot in Georgetown, with delicious drink and food options - highly recommended. The appetizers were incredible, and the salmon and steak were both cooked to perfection. Price points reflect the quality of service and food. Give them a visit!

One of my husband and I’s favourite restaurants. Love the vegan options for myself especially the arancini.

This is a gem of a restaurant on Main Street, Georgetown. Food is amazing, with great service and a great atmosphere. Good selection of gluten free and vegetarian options. We have been multiple times and we will be back.

Amazing place in Georgetown. The food is very comfy and homely with great focus on taste. Every item that we ordered had a distinct taste and flavour. Our food, from appetisers to main course, was amazingly good and to top it was the great service provided by Ms. Nancy, who was on her first shift! Nancy was great at her job and her recommendations from the menu were awesome. What could have been better is the quality of ice cream in the desserts which is made of coconut milk. Otherwise, a brilliant place and for the vegetarians the must try is their Bruschetta, Rigatoni and Quinoa-Mushroom Burger!

Response is truly reflective of the treatment at your establishment- totally uninterested in your customer care! The sarcasm evident. Your waitress WAS fully aware we were not happy with the standard of our meal / dessert. No offer of alternate or how can we make this right! One dessert to go was returned in its entirety and one dessert from the table was taken away by the “owner” who rolled his eyes! But we were charged for them! So yes, you were fully aware of the complaint. Stand by my review - and your response solidifies my point of view! Definitely need a lesson in customer service and your food was just “description fancied up” with write up on the menu - as explained by your OWN waitress! Your response is still non reflective of an establishment that cares about its customers! Oh and yes, McDonald’s fries are much better than yours! Yours were cold and soggy!

Honest feedback of a meal for x2 total cost 270$ with tip on 9 Dec, 2022

Owner of establishment was less than welcoming - almost made us feel guilty for booking his establishment to dine at! Totally uninterested in his guests and rude. Waitress was polite but full of excuses. X 3 different appetizers ordered each one presented nicely and tasty - portions very small. Main course: fillet of steak? Well have to say this was extortion in price! The steak came cut in three small pieces with fries that quite honestly would have been better from McDonald’s! No veggies and just literally slapped on the plate with ketchup and mayonnaise. 40$ a plate! The dessert was something else! Chocolate brownie truffles with toffee sponge - again just thrown together! Nothing appealing about this dessert - even though they took one dessert away - they STILL charged for it! If we could rate this place a zero we would; and even then that would be too good! Do not waste your time or hard earned money at this establishment! One of the worst meals ever encountered. Also do not accept Amex for payment.

Best meal I have had all year. Food was outstanding, prices were very reasonable. Delicious, beautiful menu, sweet atmosphere, quiet enough with space layout to have meaningful conversations, yet hip and lively to really enjoy the setting. Highest recommendation, my new favorite restaurant.

I was here for as Christmas lunch and I am thoroughly impressed with the food. My vegetarian meal was tasty, unique, and more than abundant. Please give this place a try if you are not sure. They deserve the business.

Enjoyed take-out from here 3 times and each dinner was excellent! Lots of vegetarian options. Everything is always fresh tasting and perfectly cooked.

Absolutely Amazing! The inside is so quaint and cozy. The food was amazing and our server Steve was the best! I will be back and highly recommend!

Had our anniversary dinner there last night and the food was amazing! Great flavours on our vegan scallops, steak and paprikash including the delishious veggies with both meat dishs. Will definatley be back

What a fantastic dinner we had. Excellent starters and phenomenal main dishes. The service was attentive and personable. It’s a “definitely recommend” from me. Even my son loved it. - and he’s picky. They made him something special and he’s declared it his favourite restaurant.

Had a fantastic night this past Saturday at The Berwick with a few friends. Mike and his staff are always so pleasant and welcoming.
They made it a point throughout the evening to ensure that we not only had a great dining experience, but that we, the staff and the other guests were safe and comfortable with the Covid protocols.

Even through all the challenges restaurants have faced during this time, Mike finds a way to smile and continue to offer a great experience and of course great food.

The owner is a very friendly gentleman and our waitress was very efficient and friendly. The food was amazing and the chocolate chip cookie and ice cream was delicious.

What a fabulous dining experience! I went to this restaurant this week for lunch with my mother. We had the carrot salad and salmon with asparagus; It was delicious! The service was excellent and tables were set up to be physically distant.
Everyone was masked. Worth the drive from Burlington. I had heard about this restaurant but this was my first chance to visit. We will definitely come back!

Had an absolutely amazing dinner at the Berwick on Saturday night! Started with the calamari, then had the salmon and finished it off with the chocolate creme. The food was absolutely fantastic, could not have asked for better. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend. The food was amazing, our server was incredible, she made sure we had absolutely everything we needed and service was very quick!

However, close to the end of our meal someone (it looked like it might’ve been the owner or this establishment or a manager - he was an older gentleman with short greyed hair) walked into the restaurant area through a side entrance acting like he was above COVID-19 and not wearing a mask. He was walking ALL OVER the restaurant seating area, touching absolutely everything in sight! He stood at the doorway looking through what looked to be a reservation book or a schedule, flipping through the pages, while not wearing a mask. We felt extremely uncomfortable and grabbed our things after paying the bill. On our way to leave, he was still looking through the schedule that was located in the middle of the entryway. He didn’t even take the time to step aside to give us 6-feet of space for us to leave the restaurant safely. We would advise everyone to stay far away from this establishment until ownership is willing to follow standards and protocols set out by our government in order to keep their patrons safe.

What a lovely evening out. Food was incredible! Tuna Tartare was so tasty. Lovely selection of wine. Mike, the owner, made a point to visit our table and we had a lovely discussion the wine selection. We will be back again and again. Our new favourite restaurant in Georgetown.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was okay. We were surprised there was no bread with the meal.
