The Brighton Convention & Events Centre

Attended an event. Quite a wait for the whole table to be served. Attentive staff but kitchen flow lacks coordination.

The centre was clean and the staff were very good. Washrooms were clean and supplies were maintained.

We had a great experience hosting our wedding in this venue. The team listened to us and worked very hard to customize everything to our liking to bring our vision to reality. Their service, attitude, food, everything was great! Thanks Brighton team for everything you did for us and our guests:)

This was a good place to have a school dinner dance. There was a long area for dancing. The stage looked a bit old though under the dim lights of the hall. The washrooms were fairly decent. But more staff needs to be hired to service this Convention Centre
properly like a doorman and a security guard!

The office lady is unorganized and doesn’t know what she is doing. We asked for one thing and she didn’t even acknowledge it. The way she spoke to was also arrogant and rude. She does not have any polite manners and doesn’t know how to talk to guest.
I would not recommend this place because they are unorganized and don’t know how to handle guest properly. There was so much confusion and mistake from her side as she was not noting down what we wanted and didn’t even apologize for her mistakes.

They need to hire someone who can speak proper English with good manners. It can ruin your business if she is speaking like that to everyone.

The venue was very clean and had all necessities available to host events. We had a great experience and would recommend this event centre for any occasion.

First time visiting this convention centre. Its a nice place to have a wedding reception/birthday party etc. Love the fact that you bring your own food items (not sure exactly what was supplied by the venue but drinks were brought in by the customer who celebrated their birthday. We called the office regarding a complaint about the service that was provided. Once she realized it was a complaint and not us trying to book an event. She wasn’t willing to listen and wasn’t even sorry for what has happened to my friend. She was being aggressively rude and tried to cut the call as soon as she can. It takes hours just for that lady in the office to pick up.

Disgusting, unorganized and bad service! I won’t recommend this hall.

The event that was stunning! The bar staff were very welcoming and recommended very unique tasty drinks! I'll be requesting them in the future for sure! The decorations were top notch and showed the attention to detail! Finally the main thing that won me over was the food. If you want variety go to a buffet, this place specializes in authentic high cuisine that focuses on family style eats! Highly recommended for a stress free exciting event.

Poorly managed, forced our guests to leave prior to our booking time by turning off the restroom lights, the coat check staff attitude was extremely poor and expected us to cost check our jackets for tips, worst part is the bartender stole our alcohol and got drunk! Very disappointed with them.

Very nice banquet hall with ample parking space. Exterior is bit old but interior is nice like all other banquet halls.

Not aloud to play music at all at a private banquet hall. Fear of covid spreading is understandable. But you can't even play a small speaker for background music. Very disappointing. Venue looks great.

Great place to have any event, if set up properly this place will make your event look beautiful! It's also in Scarborough, very easy place to spot.

Elegant place. The management team is phenomenal. First day of reopening after Covid and all procedures were followed to the tee all while keeping the flow smooth for a Hindu wedding which is tough.

I had my wedding here, beautiful venue and amazing service. I am definitely going back for my baby shower:).

Facility was nice. Table we sat at was wobbly. Manager looked miserable and service was horrible. Salad was wilted and bread was not fresh. Items served family style did not come with plates. Main course was burnt. When we had asked for coffee, we were told, no - we will not serve it now.

Nice venue but no heating. At a party and can't even take my coat off. We are frozen solid. This is not right. Spoke to owner multiple times and still nothing.

Visited Brighton for a purpose other than event. Ambience is cool. Piya was super helpful and supportive.

Will surely visit again!

A very sophisticated event centre which can hosts elegant and formal happenings. The lounge is well lit and has that huge, relaxing, and cozy ambience. The only minus thing I noticed is that the parking area is not big enough to accomodate the number of people that are supposed to be attending an event. Overall, I still give it 5 stars.

This is an elegant place for your great events of all kinds. The staff are professional and very courteous.
It is extremely clean and well maintained.

The place looks and smells new. The chivari chairs added to its fresh look. My favourite part would actually be stairs. It would look so dreamy during a wedding.

Pretty good venue for a wedding. I shot a wedding here last week and the staff were super friendly, the food was good. No complaints.

I really love this banquet hall it is big beautiful food is great lots of parking wonderful service staff are super nice rooms and or /halls are clean washrooms are clean nice bar and coat check is wonderful you can book partys, weddings, meetings, brunch and more there are also new year's eve party's you can get tickets to. Beautiful place, bathrooms were clean and service was amazing. During the event that I attended, a fuze blew on the circuit system causing the speakers for the music not to work. That was the only downfall. Luckily, there was a live band that was hired to keep the crowd entertained.

I thought parking needs to be improved. Besides the place has 4 or 5 functions taking place simultaneously, I think it needs a board/ screen/whatever displaying information (like names of hosts etc) and directions of various halls to help facilitate the guests. Place in itself is not bad, nice and cosy, easily accessible and pretty spacious.

The place is nice for parties. I've been there on several occasions. Parking is spacious. I wonder how their security are at night. Do they have cameras or security on service late nights. I for one will not go to parking lot even with my hubby. I wait at the entrance for him. Banquet hall is beautifully decorated always. Lady's room is clean. The waiters and waitresses give very good service. Food not bad although it needs some improvement.

I had my wedding at Brighton two weeks ago and I'm glad I selected this venue. It's beautiful and the size of the place ensures that for a party of about 300-500 people, you get the entire space to yourself, which might not be the case at other banquet halls. Tannaz, the manager, was very professional and accommodating during the entire planning process, and guided us along while ensuring our ideas came to life on the big day. She greatly reduced the wedding planning stress! The prices are reasonable and the staff during the event is friendly and professional.

We had our wedding here, and I have to say that Tannaz and her staff made it very easy for us. Tannaz communicates well, very flexible and accommodating. Her staff is on top of emailing us for things like food trials, floor plan.everything. I didn't have to email to ask for these things done at all.

The food was amazing. We had a Chinese wedding, and even my family said the food was delicious, generous portions, and overall excellently done. This is quite some praise from a traditional Chinese family!

A bonus is that this space is very spacious. It is a great venue choice if you have a large wedding as even the half of their larger hall can easily accommodate 400 people. Secondly, they have chivalri chairs there, making your banquet look more classy.

We did have some mishaps on the day of. But the floor manager worked well with my wedding coordinator and was able to fix the miscommunications. My only complaint was that some of my guests had a few servers that were unprofessional. Thankfully they did not serve my family but my friends, and my friends were okay with the behaviour. However, I think this part could be an improvement.

It will get the job done for most any function, but there is nothing particularly special or unique that makes the place stand out from any other banquet hall.

Big hall that has facility to be divided up into smaller rooms if required. The place looks clean, uncluttered and attractive. Appears to have sufficient car parking spaces. There's a largeish lobby, where pre-dinner drinks and canapé could be served. Toilets are in the area adjoining the lobby. However, the toilets are not constantly kept clean while a party or event is in progress. This means after a couple of hours it looks drab.

This is the kind of facility people would want for big parties, weddings and other such occasions.

Booked the Brighton Convention & Events Centre venue in November to host a wedding in July. Tannaz is the main coordinator who has been here many years, and has been very helpful thus far in the process.
Brighton has been in business circa 2003 (maybe earlier), and used to be known as "Grand Bacchus" or "Grand Baccus Banquet and Conference Centre" until around 2015 when a branding name change occurred (unsure if management changed too).

After you book, you will be told about an open house in January with a few select preferred vendors showcasing their services (photography, videography, custom suits, custom floor designs, DJ, emcee, head table and backdrop decoration, photo booths, hotels, and cakes). Appetizers are served at this open house, which is a nice sample taste-test for a few appetizers. You need to schedule a private food tasting later with the coordinator.

FOOD is made and served in-house, however, they also provide catering from various partners and businesses. I believe sometimes you may be allowed to choose your own caterer and servers.inquire to find out. One point to note here is that *sometimes* you can't fault the venue for bad service or food because the venue may not have been in control of it. I think this is why some venues impose restrictions - to control quality.
So far, the in-house food sampling in January was tasty, and a good experience. Servers are very polite and came around quite often with their trays to serve.

PARKING exists and is plenty. Wheelchair parking exists. Wheelchair accessible entrance TBD.

MUSIC and SPEAKERS system - bit of surprise here. You are forced to go with Brighton's in-house speaker system, and advised that your DJ is not allowed to bring in their own speakers due to noise level and appearances and some other issues I can't recall. You have to call LUXE Entertainment Inc to get a quote for an extra charge of $400+.

LIGHTING - extra fees and charges in the range of $400+ apply here too if you wish to use special spot lights to focus on dinner tables and other fancy lighting experiences, etc. A time of writing, have to call LUXE Entertainment Inc to get a quote for an extra charge.

COAT CHECK is available, mainly for fall/winter.

OVERALL, prices are comparable to other venues.
Each washrooms has more than three sinks and five stalls, they are spacious, and nicely maintained and renovated.

Abby is a very helpful person for food tasting questions.
