A great little fast food restaurant that is an institution, having served good food in this neighbourhood for years. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

The char-broiled burgers are amazing! There is a great choice of fresh toppings to customize your burger while you watch. Real cheddar cheese is available along with delicious fresh french fries.

The staff at the restaurant are always friendly and accommodating. Although the restaurant is not much to look at, it is clean and the food is very good and good value for your money. A great place to visit when you don't want to cook, or when you need to grab a quick bite to satisfy your hunger.

Got a home made cheeseburger and an onion rings with a drink (canned coke). The total came up to a bit over $17. The burger was really good with a nice charcoal flavour, fresh and perfectly cooked party. Their onion rings were good too. Nice and crunchy. It was a bit more pricier than I thought but if anyone wants to make a change from eating fast food burgers, this place would be a perfect spot to go and get one.

While they could certainly invest in higher quality buns with a golden top, the meat patty in my homemade burger was juicy and flavourful. I'm lucky to have this burger place in my neighbourhood. Other than Holy Chuck, Grillies on Bayview and The Burger's Priest, I can't think of any other good place for quality burgers in the neighbourhood. If you're craving a proper old-fashioned burger, I don't think The Burger Shack is going to disappoint you. They their fries too. They're pretty good.

Great classic burger and sides. Only complaint is I used to applaud their classic approach to cash only (credit card fees can be a stinger), but in a Covid world they really need to calibrate with the rest of society and offer an electronic payment option.

My first time coming to this place. Seems like a family owned businesses, looks very busy food is ok but portions are very small for what you pay for. I got the chicken dinner $16.75+tax. Their burgers looks good tho

Never, ever had a bad experience at burger shack. Absolutely succulent burgers and fries, and literally everything else.

Burger Shack is exactly what you hope it will be. Great neighbourhood burger spot that doesn’t pretend to be anything more than that. Love the flip down seats inside, old school vibe. Also don’t sleep on the onion rings.

The Burger Shack has been a mid town traditional Burger institution for more than forty years. Their Home Banquet Burger is one of the best in the city and sure to please. The Souvlaki is good and the home made onion rings are the perfect compliment to any of the fine fare. They also carry more than 30 types of soda pop for tasty beverage satisfaction.

Food and service was great. Food tasted very fresh and the 6oz burger alone is enough to fill you up. Will definitely be going back!

Been going here for what must be 35 years! I love the food, the people. Make sure you get the bacon sandwich!

15 years ago I used to be a regular customer but have moved out of town and haven't visited. I was in the area for work and got to visit and the food was as good as I remember it being. The decor is dated and tired but that is part of the charm. Burger Shack is deserving of its spot on all of those best burger in Toronto lists.

The homemade burgers are very good, homemade onion rings almost everyone I know likes them I think it's a little too doughy. That does not constitute a loss of a star because of preference. Also the other food there is great old school Greek burger place u can't go wrong. The staff is very pleasant.

I stopped in for a quick burger. Feels like a greasy spoon burger joint. I liked that I could see what was going on with my food and could pick my toppings. I found the menu confusing, I think if Gordon Ramsay did a makeover of this place he immediately simplify the menu. I had the burger and fries, the burger was good and fries needed a bit of salt but still good. The staff were and nice and accommodating even with my confusion. I would definitely recommend trying these guys out.

This place has great food, I went in for onion rings -fresh onion rings - and it did not disappoint. I saw the sign in the window for poutine and decided hell yeah I'm getting that too, talk about the right decision! For me it's hard to find a place that makes a great proper gravy, this place has it on lock down.

This is hands down the best burger in midtown. Get the homemade burger and eat it right away while still piping hot. It tastes like heaven.
It’s around the same price as a big mac but has wayy more beaf and tastes ten times better.

Feels like an authentic burger joint but the misses out on the taste for me. Chicken burger was average, onion rings were good and chocolate shake was poor. Bun quality could improve too.

Try the banquet burger, homemade ($8.25). This is a 6 oz homemade burger with cheese, bacon, and the secret sauce. It’s a pretty damn good burger. Add a milkshake and rings to make it a pretty damn good meal.

HANDS DOWN the best burgers I have ever tasted! Came in here today with my wife son and we were all absolutely blown away by the flavors of the food. Hamburger which was filled with pulled beef, classic burger toppings, and one of the most tasty cheeses I’ve ever tasted.

Used to be amazing, i don't know what happened? Management changed? Now the burgers fill like bought at Costco, a very good burger is no more, sad.

Amazing old school burger joint. Classic charbroiled burgers and souvlaki, great fries and good choice of salads if you want to keep it more healthy.

Always good service with great fries. And despite the name of the place, I love their souvlaki because I don't eat beef. I like their food so much that I don't care about the 1970's chandeliers.

Ammmmmazing homemade patties! Fresh cuts were yummy! Owner was kind enough to make a very yummy egg sandwich well past beakfast hours!

Expensive, but for the location, not too extreme. Burgers are pretty simplistic, not too special. Staff is great though with the exception of maybe the guy who seems only interested in one thing (presumed owner), the girls are great and give you the sense that humanity and socially run businesses still exist.

Burger shack is my local quick bite spot for a hamburger or souvlaki. I really like how you can call ahead with your order for pickup and how they're open pretty late especially on the weekends. I always get the house BBQ sauce/gravy for my fries. If there is one thing I don't like about the burger shack it's how the chairs always slam when guests put them down to sit.

One of the best burgers I've had in Toronto. Can't really get much better than this old school burger joint. The milkshakes are great and they also have a great chicken slouvaki dinner and greek salad if you're not in the mood for a classic burger and fries. Speaking of fries, get them with a side of gravy. You won't regret it!

Good old school burger joint. I liked the charbroiled burger and the onion rings were delicious! The only downside is that you can only pay cash but they have an ATM you can use.

The restaurant itself is charming. Old, rustic decor with a real mom and pops vibe. Walls have memorabilia and it looks like it may have been a local favourite back in the day. The staff were friendly and the owner was courteous as well. However they don't accept card yet they have an ATM machine that charges 2 bucks per transaction inside their venue. I heard from a friend who lived in the area for a handful of years that she heard that this restaurant was good although she had never been as she's a vegetarian. As a burger lover, I judge a burger spot by their cheese burger and an order of fries. The buns were decent, and the way they build your burger is like at Subway or Harvey's. They don't have a lot of condiment options but I like my basic lettuce, onions, tomatoes with ketchup, mustard, and mayo anyway. One thing that bugged me was that when I was ordering the cashier asked whether I wanted the frozen patty or the homemade 6oz patty.as if that should even be an option. To my disappointment the homemade patty was dry and my assumption was that it was frozen before as well. No fresh patty should come out with such dry texture and no juices. The fries were okay, nothing great. It's a real shame because the restaurant has a vibe to it and by actually serving fresh patties they would be much more successful and maybe they can get rid of that silly ATM machine as well.

Iconic, oldschool diner-like burger spot. Looks like right out of a movie with its neon sign, rustic charm and hearty food.
Cheesburgers taste great and I always enjoy the Souvlaki with salad.
Prices are really fair and opening hours super convenient.

2nd time visiting The Burger Shack after a long time and it was EVERYTHING my girl and I wanted. The BEST poutine, MILKSHAKE and Burger! The Burger was so delicious we didn't even get a picture of it, just couldn't wait. We order the Banquet Burger which is key if you love Cheese + Bacon! I love how you can customize your toppings, like Harvey's. The meat is freshly made and charbroiled to perfection. We order the Strawberry Milkshake and Chocolate Strawberry Milkshake and ordered 1 poutine to share. Highly recommended this spot in midtown if you want a good Burger, Fries and Shake PLUS there is parking!

Wonderfully retro diner fare, decent prices, and outstanding home made burgers. A winner all round. The decor is super old and is dripping in that 1978 vibe. Not to everyone's taste (though the food is), but I hope they NEVER renovate. It's a real find!

Same top quality home style burger for over the last 30+ years at the same location. Some things are best left unchanged afterall.

Solid greasy spoon Burger joint since the 80's. The chairs /tables are original and uncomfortable AF. Many of the chairs are bent and on an uncomfortable angle. Put in some new chairs and tables and I'll change the rating to 5*.

Love it! Words can't describe how amazing this place is. Not just the food is delicious but the family and co workers running the place are absolutely great! Welcome you with open arms and the atmhospehere they provide once you walk through the doors makes me wanna go back everytime. If you haven't tried this place out your missing out that's all I can say!

I do enjoy Burgers shack poutine. Fries are good, generous amount of gravy. I like to top my poutine with some hot peppers.

I just tried their burger once but it didn't meet my expectations as I was captured by the store name Burger Shack.

They only accept cash which customers have been informed in advance not when the customers already in front of the cashier.
