Food is amazing, fast service, but seating is meh. Would recommend takeout.
Soups are awesome.

The food was great but the staff left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I went for the bogo deal today and was told I could Only have the same for both bowls. Big deal but after waiting 15 minutes they realized they forgot my order. I asked if I could get 2 different soups for the inconvenience (which were the same price). The manager was standoffish about explaining they were clearing old stock out. After I made a few valid points she just walked away because she didn’t want to deal with the conversation. The guy was cool and low key knew it was b.s, but the 2 women definitely need a refresher in customer service.

Great place with amazing food and service. Every bite is loaded with flavour. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous and will fill you up. Just delicious. Wish you were in KW area.

Amazing! I had the tomato tortellini soup with basil pesto combined with the buffalo chicken sandwich. Perfect for a cold rainy day. A little pricey but I get it. The food is made with extra love.

Love the soups and the portions a lot.food is quick and good quality.disappointing that the vegan sandwich was limited time and now there’s no side option other than fries.will continue to support bc i enjoy the soups but hopefully they step it up eventually.it’s 2023. Staff is not friendly

We absolutely loved the burnt tongue. Quick service and amazing food! We got a buffalo chicken grilled cheese, chicken tortilla soup, and the dill fries. So good!

EDIT 3 YEARS LATER: This used to be my favourite restaurant but the food quality has really gone down hill. I will now tell you AVOID the kale ceaser as I haven’t had a good one from them for the last 6 or so times I’ve come. The dressing isn’t the same and the kale is always wilted. The soups are really hit and miss and lack flavour. I understand the business has grown significantly and therefore has lost that “local gem” feeling and is more of a soup mill.

Favorite restaurant ever! I've never been disappointed. Sometimes you'll look at the menu and think you won't like anything on it but I've always been pleasantly surprised! Get the Kale Ceaser salad ;)

Sure, they 'll sell you other staples like burgers, fries, and a grilled cheese, but you gotta go for the soup! Nothing comes close, they offer a huge variety, and, as far as I know, they're all made from scratch. I don't think you could find more flavourful soups anywhere!

I love The Burnt Tongue! It’s been a staple in Hamilton for many years and has always been my go to. They have something for for everyone: kid friendly, dietary restrictions, health conscious and the best comfort food. The soups are so tasty and unique. Some of my faves are the kale Caesar, potato leek soup and any of their lentil soups! They even do ice cream sandwiches in the summer…
The staff is always friendly and helpful with explaining any new menu items. They now have four locations, and do Uber eats. Can’t wait for my next BT soup:)

Wonderful food, friendly service! Anything you order is going to come out hot and flavourful! At Burnt Tongue, they truly put such care into their craft.

This is the best soup you'll ever eat. The potato leek and roasted garlic soup is the yummiest soup I've ever had but their hours are really bad. They are only open until 8pm which is NO GOOD for people who have to work in the evening. There have been SOOOO many times I would've gotten burnt tongue past 8: 00pm but unfortunately, that is impossible. They would easily deserve 6 stars (yes, more than 5) if they didn't close so early. Their portions are tiny. I am a skinny girl and their large size does not come close to filling my hunger, it's kind of pricey to not be full but their soup plus their fries is great if you got some extra spending money. Make sure to get the large otherwise you're just having a small snack.

Also they often forget the bun that comes with your soup, so double check before you leave!
