Such a cool place to meet friends for a unique twist on waffles! I had the Canadian Brunch waffles.poached eggs, salty bacon and sweet apple chunks.so delicious! First timers should know to pick up a menu and your own bottle of water and glasses on the way to your table and then go to the counter when you're ready to order (they don't have wait staff, or maybe that was just the day we were there, it was busy)
Good coffee, nice ambience. I just wish there were more non-waffle options on the menu. But if you are obsessed with waffles I guess this is the place to be!
While this place does have good coffee and food which most speak on but I’ll say that they have WORST service. No one is friendly especially the manager acting so awkward and rude to us. I’m tired of people saying support small business when some don’t appreciate your business. I’ll go and take my money where it’s appreciated. There are so many indie coffee shops that have excellent and friendly staff. Something to think about.
Had the ‘harvest brunch’ on a red pepper waffle and it was delicious! Fresh ingredients and tons of flavour. Bakery items are just as good too. Staff is always pleasant and kind.
What can I say that already hasn't been said about the cannon.needless to say the coffee and tea are already fantastic.but the food. AMAZING breakfast options will blow your mind! Can be a little pricey BUT you get what you pay for.:)
What a glorious place! The Cannon has wonderful coffee, an extensive menu with all sorts of inventive and intriguing waffles (and gluten free and vegan options too!), and best of all —warm and friendly staff. It is a welcoming space to go with friends (it's very kid-friendly too!) or spend some solo time with great food and a good book. Highly recommend!
Very delightful breakfast. Delicious coffee's and out standing waffle based food options. Still a diamond in the rough, but enjoyed the experience overall and would recommend to all.
Delicious coffee, delicious waffles! Love The Cannon and recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious coffee and treat and nice place to sit and relax
Very cozy place to have coffee and waffles. There are various menu options available to get a taste of classic Canadian coffee taste which is much better than regular Tim Hortons. The food they prepare for customers is a lot warmth love and respect. It gives me a feeling of eating at small barns and farmhouses to enjoy the crop fields and take a tour at our classic countryside of Canadian soil. I really recommend this place if you're on your way to Niagara Falls.
Really cute space and the service have always been great but the past couple times I’ve gotten an americano the espresso has been very, very acidic and sour, which is a little disappointing given the price. I have never had such acidic espresso at other local cafés so not sure if I’ll be back for their espresso but the coffee is great!
The food is delicious. Love the breakfast sandwich. Great coffee and lattes too! Wonderful atmosphere. Always have good music playing. Also love that The Cannon is on Ottawa street because there are lots of cute shops near by. This place is definitely a fave!
Staff were great and the food (bacon waffle) was very good! I appreciated the inclusion of real maple syrup too. Cute place.
What my friend and I didn't love was, after being comfortably seated and de-masked, having to get up/mask-up again to place our order at the counter rather than having a server come to us, and then doing that a second time to visit the cream & sugar shelf in order to fix our coffee when it came.
I suggest waiting on the few tables there (only five I think?), and including sugar & cream on the tables. That would be SO easy, and IMHO would make a meaningful difference to the experience here, especially to senior citizens.
Great independent/local cafe in Hamilton, on Canon and Ottawa street. Cafe was not allowing people to dine in due to recent COVID restrictions, however the inside of the store was still nice. Lots of natural lighting and wood floors, easy to imagine it would be a great place to enjoy a coffee.
Service was great, and very friendly. I ordered their Cortado which was well made as well! Excited to go back and try their coffee, and their baked goods. Everything was also reasonably priced as well, very similar to what you'd expect at a Stat Bucks, but considerably better.
Awesome indy coffee shop with friendly, helpful staff and a mild decaf espresso. They also have some baked goods (saw muffins, scones and cookies) as well as local honey which was delicious and creamy. Deffo coming back!
We waited 25 minutes outside in line and there was only 5 people in front of us. The coffee was good but not that amazing for the long wait time. They need to rethink the efficiency of their serving technic. If they only accept 2 costumer at a time in the café, after the costumer pays he should wait outside to let the next costumer order in the restaurant and keep everything moving. The barista should after bring the coffee to the waiting costumer outside. Instead of them having to wait for the 2 costumers in front to order there coffeee and wait inside 5 min for their order preventing the next person to got in.
Better places in the area for the price. Felt rushed. Little interaction. Or greeting. No eye contact. Little things in customer service go a long way. Especially when paying for overpriced coffee and mediocre snacks.
Stopped in for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Great coffee and the waffle breakfast sandwich was delicious. Very friendly staff, Will definitely be back for more coffee and waffles
The most hipster place ever (knit toques and all). Seat yourself, serve yourself and basically Make the food yourself kinda of service. Place is tiny and can seat a total of 18 people max.
Haven’t had the food yet but already super displeased with the service and the attitude of the staff.
But then I had the food and was really good. Small portions but totally normal size. And the servers attitude changed after the busy rush.
