Great seafood i just wish they had nice fried or grill fish there battered fish could be better.

I’ve been to many captain’s boil locations. This one is by far the worst one. The portions were extremely small compared to other locations. Service was also lacking. I recommend going to other locations instead.

The absolute worst seafood experience, a complete waste of time & money. The shrimp is serve uncleaned (we were only told after our order arrived that you had to pay extra for the shrimp to be cleaned, which we would have gladly done if someone had told us).

Upon complaining we were told “that’s how all places serve shrimp, which is simply not true.

They refused to do anything about the bill despite the food being inedible and gross.

Will never be back. Save your money

This was my first time coming to this location with my friend. The food wasn’t bad tasted really good. I ordered snow crab and I wanted corn as a side. Did not get the corn and yet was still charged for it. She berated my friend because she didn’t tip her. When I was going to be the one to cover the tip. I kept asking to see the receipt and she refused to hand it to me because I knew she would charge me for the items I NEVER even got! The bill was $74 plus an $18 tip that I was forced to give because I paid without seeing my receipt. Then she tried to act like she didn’t know and wouldn’t give my money back. But instead gave me the missing corn with the SMALLEST container of sauce which wasn’t even the correct sauce she gave me the spiciest sauce they had which I gave to my mother not knowing. Who has a heart condition and cannot eat such spice. Honestly steer clear of this location such a disgusting customer service.

Worst experience ever! I ordered king crab leg on ubereats and it cost me 125$. Can’t believe it is delivered just in a plastic bag without any box. The two legs were hollow and there wasn't any other crab meat. Wasted my money! Truly disappointed! I used to love this restaurant

Ordered a $45 crab legs with sausage and this is how it was delivered. Unbelievably cheap and unsanitary. Shows clear lack of care for the customer

Quick service, although our food did not come out all at the same time. Got the fried rice first, then just my dish and then my dad's and last we got the fries. The captains boil sauce tastes a little different to other locations as well

Nice ambiance. Good service. I order the lobster poutine I only got 3 little pieces of lobster

First of all, its was my son 11th bday. We walked in during lunch time. The place was empty.
We ordered lunch combo and the and other stuff, the server told us that there is additional $3.00 per order because it is a weekend (friday), but i dont see any sign and not even advertised on their menu.
The food was good but it was dry. Not enough sauce.
When we we're paying, the cashier told us that if we are going to use Cash there will be a FREE ice cream. But we use debit card.
I mentioned to her that it is my son's bday today. She just smiled on us.
We are regular guest in this location, but with experienced we probably not coming back.

Came here for dinner on a Monday night with friends and was seated right away as the place was quite empty. I ordered 1lb of mussels with the captain’s boil sauce but it was very different from any other location I’ve been to. It wasn’t bad but I’m confused why it was so different because the colour, consistency, taste, and smell were all different from what I’m used to, it was closer to a creamy rose tteokbeoki sauce.

No real issues with the service. It was quick and they regularly checked on us to refill our waters.

Would still rather go to a location that makes the sauce the way I’m used to but not a bad spot.

We gave $20 tip for our $100 meal (2 people) The waiter came to ask to pay her more since she doesn’t get paid and she is surving from tips. These interactions were extremely unprofessional and awkward; this left a bad taste/client experience. The worst thing is that She didn’t even move and kept asking to increase her tip! Will not be coming to this location again! PAY YOUR STAFF SO THEY DONT BEG FOR MONEY FROM YOUR CUSTOMER

I have been to Captain's Boil before but will not visit the York Mills location again because of the lack of customer service.

I’ve been to multiple locations. This one is by far the worst tasting. The captains boil sauce is my favourite but at this location it literally tasted like hotdog water. Ruined my entire meal:/

The food is okay but I ordered a take out lobster and it only came with 1 claw? You guys should be better than this

States that they close at 1030pm. Tried making a pick up order at 930 and they tell me that their kitchen is closed early because they had a family event.if you plan on eating here or taking anything out for dinner it seems like you should be there for noon or something?

Very much disappointed, I ordered lobster fried rice and that was the worst in the whole Toronto, smells very worst even before opening the box and tastes too bad and the whole thing is gone for waste. Need to improve a lot please.

Had a beautiful family birthday dinner celebration. We had the Pirates Feast. My wife, kids and mother-in-law loved it. Excellent value for seafood lovers.

My boyfriend used to take me here from time to time because the food used to be really good. The last time we came the sauce seemed sub-par like margarine had replaced the butter in the sauce. We noted that but thought we would give it another try. We went again about a week ago and the experience was very strange. Everything on the menu was listed as "market price". Are you kidding! Even shrimp was market price! Who do they think wants to order from a menu that basically states ""We will charge you whatever we feel like for anything you order". We didn't order anything from the menu except the oyster appetizer that was priced at $17. Then we went elsewhere for dinner. The oysters were from PEI and most of them were delicious. One was spoiled and I didn't eat it. With oysters, one is one too many. There is lot wrong at this place and it seems to be getting worse.

Watch out and double check your receipt. The server doesn’t even tell if service charge of 25% is added to your bill. No wonder she is so slow to show the bill because we refuse to pay Cash. As we are already in a hurry to leave, we just pay and give them 15% tip. Not knowing there’s additional 25%, I don’t think 40% tip for a lunch special is appropriate.

Been there four times already. The place is cozy and the ambiance is just right. However, not ideal for large groups as it will turn up very noisy. Service is excellent. Food tastes fantastic and portions are very generous! Good number of seafood items to choose from although from soup, could only order lobster bisque so far as they did not have anything else. Shrimp baskets, fried rice, fish & chips, cajun fries, and chicken tenders are a must try. Will definitely recommend the place.

Very expensive for no reason, sauce is the same taste for everything, i would go to an actual seafood restaurant not a shell one

Was an ok experience for the 1st time. I'm not a big fan of such a setup. It's definitely worth trying.food was tasty, calamari wasn't great.felt like onion rings.staff were pleasant.

I will never recommend or visit captain boil on York Mills. Be careful when ordering food. We went there yesterday and ended up with a $290 food tab for 2 persons, this is with only having water to drink.
We ordered the Monday special. Confirmed
the price before ordering and was told it the same price on the menu. I asked again so this is all well will be paying + taxes again was told yes, We ordered the Monday special because of the crab legs. We each had 1 each of crab legs 1 order of shrimp, 1 order of calamari with fries and 1 order of rice. We came out with a $290 tab

Great meal. Ordered the Matey’s option and the value is great for the price.
The “regular sides” could be more, but other than that, I had a great experience and the staff were amazing.

Went to this location after a very long time with family and we really enjoyed our experience. We order shrimp and king crab legs and we choose Cajun and Captain's boil flavor. We also ordered their new addition Lobster poutine as well. The food was really fresh and full of flavors, my favorite was Cajun flavor.
The staff was very courteous and professional, The ambiance was very cozy as well. Highly recommended

The food were delicious, I really liked the captain boil source for my seafood. The fried rice is great too. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They go extra miles to meet your needs. Very good experience.

Good, yummy food prep with one of a kind sauce. It has always been my go-to lunch place with workfriends before WFH mandate hits. Coming back to dine with my family was so nostalgic. Me & my kids super love our food!

I had a bad experience yesterday at this location. I use to go here a lot but yesterday I went there, the Restaurant was serving rotten Shrimp. Something was not right. We brought it to the staff attention and they told us the food has been there for awhile. They even admitted that the food has been there for awhile but didn’t do anything to address the issue. Yesterday was the last time I will ever go to this place. We paid and left regardless. I will definitely complain to Food inspectors of Toronto regarding this.
