The Casablanca Hotel

It’s midnight and there is a party literally in the hall outside my room. After calling the front desk I had to break it up myself.
The people said I can’t believe you let it go on this long.me either! At least the moved the party along and bothered other patrons for the rest body he night.
The location is the best part of this hotel. Enjoy the lakeshore and a few little shops. However, the hotel it self is quite spends for the age and conditions of the rooms. Not to mention a dead bug in the tub
Needs some updating and this place could be a great gem guess and complete change of management would be needed as well.

The room and the hotel are very dated. No temperature control. Extremely hot and no way to breathe or cool down

Never stay there again. No AC in the room, a fan instead. I reported that the AC was not working but no one even came to check. I was quoted a price for the room, when checking out I complained about the room, they gave me $20 off. When I got the bill it was $2 more than the original quoted price. Do yourself a favor, stay anywhere but the Casablanca.

You can tell this one’s used to be a very cool place. Certainly showing it to age and needs to be updated.

This poor excuse of a hotel had a leaking toilet and a bathtub that does not drain. The staff was rude. They charged for water. People came down to the front desk multiple times to complain due to poor service. The icing on top is the wifi did not work.

I would recommend this to people who crave bad experiences.

The hotel was really nice. The room was clean, comfortable and really big. We also had a great view of the lake. Thank you to Jake for the great service!

We had to stay for one night last weekend. The girl at reception was extremely accomodating and helpful. Loved it!

The hotel is a little dated. In the first room the fan didn't work. They changed our room to an upgraded room. The staff was great and very helpful.

It is well located between GTA and the Niagara region. The value is good with reasonable room and restaurant prices. The hotel, however is very dated and in need of some repairs.

Ladies in the bar were super friendly and the food was very good bar fare.

Room smells like old man cologne, almost everything in the room is dated and falling apart. No microwave in room, no breakfast. For the price, I'd rather stay at Quality Inn. The location is the only good thing about this place

We went back here 20 years after being engaged and actually had our wedding there. The service was excellent and very genuine which is very hard to find these days. The room clean, with a great view. Highly recommended.

The hotel restaurant is not open for breakfast most days and the only nearby restaurant that serves breakfast is drive thru only. Staying at a hotel without a car shouldn’t mean not being able to get a meal.

Nice hotel but man never had such problems getting a room used credit card for deposit but the lady at front desk didnt know how to do the transation put 50 on credit card and paid cash for room basiclly if ur a family traveling to funeral and you only have cash no matter how much cash u have thet wont give u a room but thanks to supervisor she fixed everthing for us but grear hotel other then that great stay

My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Every question we asked, they were answered! The room we stayed in was clean, airy and very comfortable and large! We had breakfast at the restaurant, Bogeys.the food was superbly delicious! The rooms smelled very much of smoking when i asked for a non smoking room
I called a week early to ask that because i couldn't check in on my original date and sincy they couldn't early up check in the next day, to leave the reservation as is but to PLEASE add a note to please not mark me as a no show and that I'd arrive the next day. Regardless of that, they still cancelled my reservation, marked me as no-show AND am now trying to dispute a 74 CAD charge.

There was only one person handling the check in counter for a 12 hour shift, when it's their busiest time, and it was so unfair on this person that the owner doesn't schedule things correctly.

Very not impressed.

It was just okay. I thought it was named after the nearby street and not literally Casablanca themed which I thought was poorly executed making the lobby look dark and dated. The room was better but it still felt tacky. It was also weirdly… lumpy? The bed was lumpy, there was weird lumpy spots under the carpet and even the bathtub floor was lumpy. The location of the hotel is also in a large, uncontrolled parking lot and someone decided to drive in at 2am and play loud music, waking me up (location is both a pro and con, given it is walking distance to a boardwalk on the lake offering stunning sunset views).

Otherwise the room was clean and the staff seemed genuinely happy (which suggests they are a decent employer). I would personally look for a better hotel in the area but would not be worried to stay here again if I could not find a better place for the price.

We ran into an issue upon arrival with our room and Alicia at the front desk handled it professionally and promptly. We were upgraded at no extra cost and she remained kind and courteous throughout our stay. We will definitely be back because of her, also the room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay and the view was great.

Reserved a room online for 166.00 taxes in. Room was comfortable, staff was nice. Upon checkout I requested a receipt. My card was charged 198.00. I questioned the discrepancy in rates. The young girl at desk was happy to look up my reservation online to compare. We were interrupted by the manager who insisted I was wrong. Actually argued with me. I brought up the hotels website and showed him the different rates advertised. I also tried to show him my reservation for 166.00. He refused to look at my phone, argued I was wrong, said the hotel has one flat rate for all rooms for all customers and it never changes. He actually argued that the hotel website isn't real, that I imagined the online reservation rate offered. He called the police and asked me to wait in my vehicle until they arrived, which I did. This was after he was threatening, aggressive and got in my face due to me asking him to look at my phone which proved I was right. I told him to back off, and go away, that I was done talking to him. I waited 45 min for police, finally going in and asking him if he really did call them as I couldn't wait all day. He said no, he did not call them. So I left, and waiting outside were the police. They said the complaint was that I was stalking the hotel by being in my vehicle in the lot? The police were not happy nor impressed by this as this is what the manager insisted on. Strange.
In the meantime the very nice young lady at the desk printed off my online reservation showing I was right and the manager had no clue. He lied to me, to police, was rude, immature, threatening, unprofessional, clueless and constantly smirked and laughed at me like an 8 year old simply because I questioned the overcharge on my card. Which should be understandable. He came close to being charged for making a false report and interfering with emergency services, which is mischief all due to his incompetent behavior. Very strange behavior by a manager, very strange.
Certainly won't stay there again. The staff was great, very nice. Decent hotel but not worth dealing with an unstable child manager. He made an innocent request which would have been dealt with in 3 minutes a very volatile, idiotic situation.
Even after his employee and myself proved him wrong, he still absolutely refused to admit it or take any kind of responsibility for himself.
Just weird

This hotel needs a major update. Very understaffed and the staff that are there are overworked and not the happiest. Completely unimpressed with room cleaning only every 3 days. A couple staff and the general manager were helpful and nice, but we would not stay here again. Way over priced for what you get.

The hotel was nice I liked the pool and food but how can u be a good hotel with a bad pixel TV and bad internet i got a suit 300$ and 1 bed like what so I'm giving it a 1 star

I went for my honeymoon with my husband and the suite that they give us the toilet wasn't working so they transferred my husband and I to a other room, they didn't had no one to fix the toilet, they charged my husband and I almost 500$ for only 2 days. The indoor pool that they have looks dirty

Good service and really nice location for a sunrise and sunset. Check out the newly renovated shoreline about 500m north.

Hotel and apple martini nice. Stopped on patio to get a bite at the lake there. Calamarie and chicken were the dishes ordered. Slightly under cooked. They took it back and completely just dunped the same dish back into grease and reserved to my guest and I. Absolutely atrocious. Get that guy outta your kitchen!

In all honesty this hotel is a joke. The room was filthy with dust covering most surfaces, stains on the sheets holes in the rags they call towels.and literal dirty hand prints on the bathroom walls. The Wi-Fi barley works and when it does it’s extremely slow.
I’m not sure how anyone could give this place 4 let alone 5 stars. My whole family was along with me for this trip, all in different rooms, we all shared the same complaints.

Clean. Decent service. Located in the Grimsby Beach area which is growing up around the ageing Casablanca. They are keeping it up well. Restaurant/bar is just okay. Kitchen/wait Staff off-duty sitting around day drinking and talking about their co-workers in the dining room is not a good look. Otherwise a decent place.

If you expect any service at all, this is not the place unless it's bad service. Room service literally walked past us as we were leaving to attend a wedding. We left a "please clean room" tag on the door and they did nothing to the room. It doesn't even look like they went in. The WiFi login didn't work and when I got a new login, the wifi kept cutting in and out. It was spotty at best. I have stayed in motels that provided better service. We paid close to $1000 for 3 nights. I can't even check out early and go somewhere else because they charged my credit card as soon as we checked in. Horrible Horrible experience. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Amazing customer service. Our trip was rescheduled super last minute (way after our check in time) and they managed to get us a refund on our stay.

If for whatever strange reason I'm ever passing through Grimsby, Ontario again, Casablanca will be my first stop!

Just got married here. Everything was excellent. The staff was fantastic. They were accommodating. Food is amazing. No issues at all.

Every thing is great in here, staff, room, parking, we will come back for sure, the only thing is thought it would be close to the falls when i checked the map while booking it is a bit far than i expected but at least worth the cleanse of the place is enough to be away from the closer by places and not getting the good service, thank you for everything

Went to Mother’s Day brunch recently and it was a terrible experience. 0/5 no breakfast food available other than one pot of eggs Benedict which was consistently empty. No bacon eggs sausage or other breakfast food. All food was empty, people were waiting at buffet waiting for servers to bring food out which was not available, food that was left over was cold and soggy. Only 3 servers for multiple people and added 18% automatic gratuity on bill for just coffee served. Will not be returning. Truly ruined Mother’s Day that 12 of us were looking forward to. People there were very upset. Called management with no return call.
