Great lunch. Food was very good, arrived hot and our server was very attentive. Love the atmosphere.

Wonderful meal and Justin was an amazing waiter. We had the prime rib valentine meal, food was anwesome. Only complaint we would have is that we were seated in front of the back door and it was freezing.

The Cat and The Fiddle is the best in town. Food is great, and the service is wonderful. Lisa is fantastic and always chats with us when we come in. I highly recommend the Chicken Parm Dinner yummm!

The owner could have and should have ''SAID SORRY'' for the pre-booked table mix-up.we had also bought a gift certificate the same day we pre-booked our table.she then gave us 2 choices.because i am handicapped i can't sit in a booth so we took the only other option she gave us which was by the noisy and busy kitchen.we are also VIP LUNCH CLUB and VICTORIA BRITISH CAR CLUB so we have been many times for many years. I asked for prime rib medium and it was fully brown and done well not medium.the staff were great but the owner treated us worse as the dinner went on.we recognise it is Covid times WHICH IS WHY WE STILL PAID OUR BILL AND GAVE EXTRA TIPS FOR THE WAITRESS. WE HAVE DONE THIS EVERYWHERE WE GO especially with COVID. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. OUR REVIEW THE OWNER TREATED US LIKE WE WERE LIARS.

I wrote a glowing review when we came here 3 years ago. This is definitley not the case now!
Twice bitten………forever shy!
We thought we’d give this place one more chance after our last disappointing visit in June and we were even more disappointed than we were the last time we came here. Don’t get me wrong……. We’ve been here many times in years gone by and were mightily impressed. Generous portions of roast, vegetables that were crunchy accompanied by an even number of mini roasted potatoes, tasty Yorkshire pudding and the obligatory au jus and in those days the Crème Brule’ was a genuine firm and tasty pudding in a very generous bowl.

Not now! Talk about shrinkage……with everything except the veggies and potatoes and the price…. And there was a reason for that!

Both times this year, we came for the Saturday evening special: Prime rib roast with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and veggies with $5 glasses of wine and a dessert of Crème Brule’. Earlier this year we already thought it had become poor value for money.

Then, the prime rib meat portion was smaller finished by a tiny bowl of Crème Brule’ and to add insult to injury, the price had gone up from $28.95 to $32.99. Our most recent experience was the most disappointing meal we’ve had dining out anywhere for quite some time.
The prime rib roast was overcooked and way over spiced and it was obvious to us that the meat had been cooked many hours before. The rub on the outside was inedible as it was a mixture of excessive ground pepper and pepper corns that completely overpowered the normally subtle beef crust you look forward to on an outside cut. The internal part of the beef was hard, dense and more like it had been ordered well done when we had ordered medium rare and it was small, about the size of a hamburger patty. There was no point asking to take it back because we could tell we’d get the same again.

But here was where the real illusion began. There was a huge portion of vegetables that had been overcooked ditto with the potatoes. I guess we were meant to be impressed by the volume of the potatoes and veggies and perhaps not notice that the portion of meat had been reduced even further than it had been not 5 months ago. The Crème Brule’ was now just the consistency of syrup but properly topped with the customary caramelised sugar crust and with a slight saving grace, this time it came in a slightly increased size bowl. Perhaps there had been a number of complaints from others about the portion size with the dessert as well. The price was a killer though. Two glasses of wine and a beer and the whole meal came to $99! What a rip-off! I say this to the owner.you do your establishment a disservice with this fare. As I say, we’ll never come back here again. I can't believe no-one else has bothered to give the meal an honest contemporary review.

Found The Cat & The Fiddle in Lindsay for the first time and what a treat! Lovely cozy British pub atmosphere. Wooden chairs were small and a bit uncomfortable for my tall husband but he was ok for the time we were there. Reservations probably would have been helpful. Service was fast and friendly no complaints there. Food arrived within a predicable time. I had the Roast Beef Yorkie, swapped out the mushrooms for fried onions (they could have been a bit more caramelized but that was my doing). Huge portion of nicely mashed potatoes under a mound of thinly sliced roast beef all in a huge yorkie and smothered in thick hot gravy. Portion size was way to large for me so shared half with my husband. He ordered the Scottish Meat pie which was very well seasoned with a good pastry crust and covered in the same thick hot gravy. He also had fries with his which were well done. He couldn't help himself and had to order the Apple Brown Betty with a scoop of ice cream. I asked for two spoons. It was absolutely delicious. Some crispy edges, warm tasty apples and a crumbly topping. Ice cream was super creamy too. Overall a delicious meal and we will be back next time in Lindsay. Thanks!

I took my mom here, she loves a good British pub. We couldn't believe how popular it was! We didn't have a reservation, but took the last two seats at the bar. Fantastic atmosphere, great food, drinks and memories to share! We've been telling everyone how much we enjoyed our time here. Definitely recommend!

Took my parents here for their 29th anniversary and had one of the best local dining experiences we've ever had. The food was classic pub fare done to the best degree. The service was the kind that makes you feel right at home, and it was very quick. I'd happily go there again and again.

Other than the typical pub style atmosphere and the descriptions and ideas for food on the menu, everything else was extraordinarily disappointing. The food and alcohol were beyond disappointing, that is the nicest I can say for this place. I tried to have a Marguerita, the first time there was no alcohol. The 2nd one was equally awful but had alcohol. The best thing they had that was enjoyed at our table was a salad. The calamari was very tiny, and oil soaked. The oil had not been changed in quite some time. While well used oil provides the nice golden colour, old oil and not hot enough makes the product very greasy and too dark. The yorkshire pudding cups with beef and mash and gravy were cold. The mashed potato overwhelmed the dish. The beef was thin and was more like cold cuts heated in a bovril gravy. Clearly no actual 'roast of beef' was prepared for this dish. The yorkshire cups were OK. Although I love yorkshire, and would have preffered bigger cups, given they are mostly air with shape comprised of flour, water and egg. I will not go back. Too bad, I was hopeful. It was packed, on a Saturday night. I wonder what the other patrons thought of the food? Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Our waiter was attentive, polite and tried to be helpful. The downfall here are the bartenders and the kitchen cooks. Good luck to you if you decide to try it there.

The prime rib and my partner's chicken breast were done to an absolute turn, the vegetables were superb. The servers were amazing! All in all a great place to eat!

Excellent food. We have been looking for a great place for take out in the Kawartha lakes area for a long time. Finally stumbled upon this place on line and so happy I did. The ms Vicky's fish and chips and the blue cheese burger are delicious! Tartar sauce was plentiful and so tasty! Also the Yorkshire mini apps are so tender and taste like my mom used to make. Will definitely order from here again

Very friendly and nice restaurant! Food tasted great! And Justin was so nice and sweet! His service was much beyond good! So happy that we found this lovely place! Highly recommended!

Last night we ate here, it was delicious. I had the chicken wings. Our server Amanda D was GREAT and super friendly. Highly recommend.

Super fun spot with affordable food. Had a nice deal on caesars and they were tasty. Food came quick and was tasty.
