LET'S KEEP UP "DR" RAMAN'S 1 STAR REVIEWS TREND GOING (THOUGH I WOULD GIVE HIM 0 IF WE CAN). We were there as OHIP patients and had to wait for 2 hrs while others who arrived after us went ahead with minimal waits. These other patients were most likely non-OHIP patients getting botox, face fillers and other non-OHIP services that Raman specializes in according to his website. The office and the doctor oozes of a smooth, salesy, profit centric clinic instead of a doctor's office. Once we saw him, he spent not even 5 minutes to diagnose the problem, told us he would not do the minor surgery and told us to go find another dermatologist to do it. What a snake oil salesman!
The good reviews here are for Dr. Prabhakar so if you must use this clinic, ask for him specifically.
They are always running at least an hour late and have ridiculous office hours. They will not renew prescriptions over the phone or give you refills and insist you come in for a five minute appointment to get a renewal—that you wait over an hour for—just so they can bill for a patient visit. I’ve had to go without meds because of their system. Absolutely do not recommend.
The reviews will reflect the business as it show the owner only care about profit and provide bad service, as still lots of people need his service and it does not matter the service is good or bad, I will never visit this one for my entire life even I have no teeth at all!
Yeah best of luck with this place. Worst experience ever. Book an appointment, then Drove for 50 minutes and still made you wait for 35 minutes still counting.
First visit, no problems. The place is a little cramped; not designed to be a clinic. Got there on time, checked in at the reception, went upstairs, waited for some thirty minutes, saw the doctor, and was out of there in less than ten or fifteen minutes. Can't blame the doctor, though, for a short consultation. The OHIP was established in 1969 when the population of Ontario was less than eight million. In 2023, the number of doctors in the province is not a match for the population increase (over fourteen million now).
Dr Raman is extremely unprofessional and if it was possible to give 0 stars I would. After waiting an hour and a half from my appointment time, I was rushed out within minutes and him insisting this was not his problem without hearing me out. Don’t bother wasting your time going here. Genuinely shocked this clinic was so busy when the service and care is so poor.
Wow. Amazing medical experience. Dr. Prabhakar was thorough, friendly, provided great information and I did not have to wait too long. Very surprised by the poor reviews.
Dr. Mani was very professional, took time to understand my concerns and then show the diagnosis, through pictures and prescribed the treatment. Having been to family doctors and specialists who make patients wait for 2 hours and then finish the appointment in 2 seconds, and yell when more than one medical condition is discussed, Dr. Mani was an exception. He was ok with me discussing other concerns outside the purview of the current appointment reference.
Not smart at all. Had terrible hives caused from a coconut allergy and asked him to provide me an eczema medication WITHOUT coconut for my general eczema. He straight up told me I didn't have hives (which I literally did and have been suffering from a really bad allergic reaction + 3 other good doctors verified this) He prescribed me with a cream that had literal coconut oil in it. He then issued a different replacement ointment that I applied which I later found out also had coconut as it ended up completely worsening and aggravating my hives. This Dr unfortunately does not know what he is doing and he also seems to be in an extreme rush to get you out so that he can work through other customers. His staff was also extremely unhelpful and outright confusing to deal with. Stay away, there are far better dermatologists out there
Tried a lot of time to call in to reschedule the appt in this clinic. However, keep failed. The ridiculous thing is when they are closed, you don’t have any options to contact them. Only phone call, but they don’t allow you to leave a voice message. I only want to cancel the appt now as I don’t want to pay the no show fee
This is the second Dermatology Center I have been to (September 2022) seeking a second opinion on my Alopecia.
I waited roughly 20 minutes to speak with Dr Ramon - not sure about the other reviews, but he was very nice to me. He took his time explaining my situation and that there is new medicines coming from the USA that would be available for me next year.
My beef is with the handicap access of the office. I need a walker to get around and had to have my PSW haul the walker up the concrete steps and open the door for me while I used the railing to get up there. I am very glad I didn’t have to climb up the stairs inside! If you are handicapped, avoid this place! R. D. Holdham
I was a little concerned about my appointment after reading some reviews that cite long waiting time as a recurrent issue, but my experience with Dr. Prabhakae was quick, efficient, and professional. I only waited for 5 - 10 minutes for my appointment.
Worst dermatology clinic ever. My mother went here when she developed dermatitis on her arm. Took 2 hours to see Dr. Raman, and literally spent less than 5 mins in the appointment before making a diagnosis of lichen planus. I later went to medical school, and realized it wasn't lichen planus, and not sure why he diagnosed her with that. Anyways in the meanwhile he said she needed light therapy treatments. She went to them for a few months and realized the rashes were getting worse not better. She eventually stopped going on her own as the treatments were actually making it worse. The rashes disappeared once she stopped going. Oddly it surprises me how this so called physician calls himself a doctor.
This review is specifically for Dr. Rathee. We recently had to switch dermatologists to a local one for a variety reasons. In switching dermatologists, it became apparent to me and my daughter (the patient) what an exceptional physician Dr. Rathee is. She explained to my daughter the risks, pros, cons, and benefits of taking medication and asked her how she felt about oral versus topical. They made an assessment together. My daughter's new dermatologist saw her at 2: 41 p.m. And had her exit around 2: 46 p.m. I was stunned. My daughter had no clue what she was to do with the prescribed meds. She was so confused as to what med was for what condition. Highly recommend Dr. Rathee.
I attended an appointment this week. There was no unreasonable waiting, kind friendly nurse and Dr Raman is very professional. I felt I was in good hands.
I have good experience with this clinic. It is miles better than the dermatologists I have seen over the years. Dr. Rathee was very knowledgeable and helpful. The staffs were polite. Wait time was not too bad. Highly recommended.
Avoid at all costs. Doctor is dismissive, condescending, and incredibly rude and spends all of 3 seconds on you. Encourages repeat treatments that are damaging and unnecessary but profitable for the office (e.g. Injections).
The support staff are very friendly and helpful. Everyone's health matters are their own, but I can safely say that I had a better experience here than many other health orgs
I was referred to have a cryotherapy treatment for plantar wart. The last treatment last Wed created a blister. I called the centre Thursday and was notified that it was absolutely normal. Eventually the blister grew to the size of an egg on Friday and I had to visit emergency room. After 5 days, the blister stopped bleeding. I had a follow-up appointment this Thursday with a doctor in the centre for dermatology, and asked a few questions regarding whether I can take a shower, can go back to work etc, and got positive answers for all. Today, I had a shower for within 10 minutes and it started to bleed again, which was totally unexpected. I am so disappointed that I trust them, but they are definitely incompetent. I would encourage you to visit another clinic and do not trust what they say.
Update: the doctor followed up with me later and he is nice. The blister was healed without infection after one month. But unfortunately the wart is still there. Is cryotherapy is just a way to rip off OHIP? This could be a money making mechanism because patients need to visit the clinic periodically. Has anybody really had the wart removed by this? How much more pain do I have to endure? I probably have to give it up, but I don't believe that there is no other ways but this.
I wish I could give NO star. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND COME TO THIS CLINIC. Referred here by my family physician. My appointment was 9: 50 and its 11: 10 I am writing this review. After sitting 40 min in the waiting area I asked the secretary how long more should I wait. They took me to the doctors office which I was waiting another 40 min. I had to cancel my appointment.
The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. My appointment is at 12: 30 and I am here an hour later writing this review as I still wait to be called back inside. They seriously need to reassess their schedule times because the current system is utterly disrespectful to clients, it’s obvious they have zero regard for your time. This isn’t a standalone incident either, I have been to this clinic a number of times and usually end up waiting upwards of 45 minutes to go in. The staff and doctors are fine but not worth the wait.
Horrible Receptionist/Customer Service. I have left 5 different messages asking to be called back too book an appointment over 2 months. Does anyone work there or is this place still open? Fyi, hire a receptionist!
Service is not too bad (its bare-able) but the wait time is too long. I was booked for 11: 10 am and they visited me at 1: 00 pm! I mean if you cant see me at 11: 10 you might as well book me for 1: 00. Simple expectation. We have a life!
I was referred to this clinic by my family doctor and had my first appointment scheduled for this morning. I showed up on time, and waited for 30 minutes before I got fed up and left. As I waited, there was a sign stating that if you are a "no show" you would be charged $50.00. I'm wondering where my compensation is for the doctor being a "no show" for 30 min? ! My time is just an important! I will be asking my family doctor for a referral elsewhere and it is my recommendation that you do the same.
Currently I am in the waiting room and it is 719 am, 19 minutes past my appointment and I am the first appointment. I have taken my kids here and they always run late, I only have come here because this is where my doctor referred me. My child reacted badly to a freezing treatment and almost passed out by the reception to which the trained professionals watched until I yelleded for help. Ask for a different referral avoid this place.
Today I had an awful experience with Dr. Mani Raman, he is very rude and unprofessional and he doesn't have any idea about customer service at all! Leanna is professional and I'm happy with the PRP service that she provided me.
I’ve been here several times now and I’ve always had a great experience. The receptionists and nurses are very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Raman’s a great doctor as well, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It’s a great centre.
I was seeking to get a second opinion from another doctor on my skin condition. I visited Dr. Roman and I found out that my first doctor diagnosed me wrong. Dr. Roman gave me a different prescription and after using his prescription for a week my condition got way better. Beside that, I like how upfront and straightforward he is.
I went for treatment for more than 1 year and after 1 year of continuous treatment, my conditions didn't improve. Technically, the doctor doesn't seem to be very experienced and knowledgeable. I would not advise to go for a treatment with this centre, if you really want good results.
They make you wait minimum an hour and a half even after an appointment made two months in advance, doctor is rude when he came in, and the whole process wasn't even longer than 3-4 minutes. He just says you have acne and prescribes you his standard go-to overpriced $500 BP ointments.
AVOID AVOID AVOID i wish i could do No stars Honestly i have never written a bad review. But my face is important to me and i believe others have the right to know.
About 2 1/2 months ago i went to visit this dr for pigmentation on my cheek. Upon arrival, i waited for about 45 minutes to even be seen.
Dr Mani Raman then came to the room and assessed my face WITH NO GLOVES ON during COVID-19.
He then told me that a pimple i had on my cheek (mind you i didnt even book the appointment for that pimple) could be dissolved with a kenalog injection.
It has been 2 1/2 months, not only has the pimple not disappeared but the site is hard and lumpy as if theres a cyst underneath. I have never before had acne and kenalog is known for a last resort treatment.
After 2 months of trying to contact them, i finally got an appointment to go revisit him to find out what went wrong. Although i REALLY dont want to go back to this doctor, i need to tell him how horrible this experience has been.
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE GOING TO THIS DOCTOR!
Incredible, people that come in and pay money will go in and out immediately but if you are covered by OHIP you will wait an average of 2-3 hours for the appointment. STAY AWAY
The appointment mechanism is not good with this center. They give you the time but the doctor sees you an hour and half later. I understand we need to wait but this is ALWAYS the case here. This needs to be looked into big time
What a disaster don’t even waste your time he is not the dr, he is a businessman, never ever go back and even one star is to much, I give him a star to right the reviews. What a joke!
I had a very bad experience with this clinic. The doctor recommended laser therapy on my face to remove the brown spot snd after that I never saw the doctor. His technician did the laser treatment and She did a vey bad job. The moment after I left the clinic I could see that she had not covered the whole area with laser and the burnt spot was off the required area. After a week I visited the clinic for the follow up and the doctor did not even bother to come and check the result of his recommended procedure done by his technician. After I told the technician that she has not done a great job she said that she can repeat the treatment if I pay extra. Overall it was a very bad experience with the whole team.
The clinic is extremely busy - I’m here at 7: 30am and the waiting room is packed solid - but there’s no question that the staff and the doctor are highly competent. I wasted over a year with useless treatments at a local walk in clinic until my Dr.referred me to this clinic. Problem solved.
What a disrespectful service. I came for a first time and waited over 50 minutes to be seen. Eventually I had to leave. I booked a second appointment at 8.45a to be sure to be seen quickly, and when I arrived I was told that the wait time was about 30 minutes. After 20 minuted I asked how many people were ahead of me and 6 still hadn't been seen. I realized then that the wait time would again exceed one hour if not more. Evidently, this doctor doesn't really care for his patients time and his time is more valuable. If the average time is always of 30 minutes or more then if thy were considerate they would space patients bookings to reflect that. But they don't. People wait, and relinquish their own time as the doctor occupies a more important role. This is absolutely wrong. I am the patient, the doctor is at my service. This doctor drives a Porsche, elegantly parked next to his clinic. His motivation for making a lot of money through cosmetic procedure is evident throughout the clinic's big screen TVs, pushing for buttock products! Through this experience my feeling this doctor's goal is not to serve sick patients but himself first.
I attended Dr Raman ‘s office in Richmond Hill for a hair loss issue. His office is clean and cozy. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained the issue to me in details and shook my hand at the end. The nurse who did my injections was amazing too. My experience with this office was a 5 Star Experience. I strongly recommend Dr Mani Raman.
Dr. Mani Raman is an incompetent doctor. I had to wait an hour and a half before he got to me. Once he started examining me his FEMALE assistant walked into the room without knocking (I was really uncomfortable). He told me that there is no treatment for my skin condition and that the reason was because i was over weight. He repeatedly told me "I cannot give you any cream. Have a nice day. " I DIDNT even ask him for a cream. This was all done in less than 3 mins. Fast forward a month and i show my skin condition to some famous doctor in Bangladesh. He gives me RETIN A and my skin condition goes away in less than 2 weeks. I doubt Mani Raman even knows what he is doing. He is going to seriously injure someone soon with wrong diagnosis. Reading the previous comments i deduce that he only cares about earning money by overbooking and that he doesn't care about his patients. How is he even allowed to do this.
If you value your time, do not go here. Every time I come to this clinic I have to wait one hour (at the very least) to see the doctor. My last visit was an hour and a half wait time.
All the negative reviews are rediculous. My friend was turned away from 3 dermatologists but Dr Raman looked and said that has to come off and yep it was cancer. Had she listened to the other Drs she would be dead.myself, my husband, my 3 kids, my sister, my Mom, and numerous friends all go and trust Dr Raman 100%. His staff is very accommodating. One downside he's always really late but I'll take it for peace of mind
3 Years ago my GP referred me to a dermatologist. They said the mole on my ankle was nothing and wanted $300 to remove. I figured if its "nothing", best to leave it and not worry. Fast forward 3 years, my husband insists I go back to get it removed for fear it was misdiagnosed. My GP insists its nothing. And then books me to go back to same dermatologist. I was suspicious because the mole had grown significantly. Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended Dr. Raman. So I asked my GP to forward the referral there. Dr. Raman took 1 look, removed the mole and sent it for analysis. He then asked me permission to review all other moles. The female nurse came in, and Dr. Raman checked out all my moles. Within 4 days I was referred to Sunnybrook for skin cancer. And the process began. I was now a melanoma patient. I'm so grateful to Dr. Raman for being vigilant and on-point. Imagine, I had to insist with my GP to get the apt. I know people complain about long waits. But keep in mind, these people are saving lives and people like me take more time then I was booked for. Both my GP and the first dermatologist missed the growing cancer on my leg. And I'm living today because Dr. Raman is great at what he does. I've uploaded before and after pics for you. The original mole, and the post surgery, where much of my skin on the ankle had to be removed. I imagine surgery wouldn't have been this invasive if the 1st Dr.had caught it. Or if my GP was good enough to catch it. Worst, imagine.if Dr. Raman had missed it too. I highly recommend Dr. Raman for his competencies is skin cancer! Seriously - this was a life saving visit~
Prior to getting the referral from my family doctor, I called Dr Mani and I asked the secretary if Dr Mani does skin scraping, she put me on hold, came back and confirmed yes he does.
Patients are often misdiagnosed with scabies or eczema, often you will see doctors take guesses based on the symptoms which is not the best solution, just because he’s a Doctor it doesn’t mean he’s always right, Doctors often misdiagnose patients.
I came for my appointment at 3: 30pm, had to wait until 5pm to be seen.
Then I said to Dr Mani I believe I have scabies, he asked me why I believe that and what symptoms I have?
I explained the symptoms that I have and asked him to do a skin scraping and he said they don’t do skin scraping! I advised him I was informed by his secretary that he does and he said that’s not true.
I called the clinic today and spoke to Michelle and she also confirmed that Dr Mani does skin scraping.
He said I have eczema not scabies and gave me an RX for a corticosteroid cortizone.
I advised Dr Mani that I examined my skin under the microscope and found some thin threads or fibers, he said that’s my skin, I said my skin is white but the threads or fibers I found are color black and red, he again said it’s my skin.
I totally disagree with his decision, Cortizone is like a pain killer, it will just hide the symptoms instead of treating it, it’s always best to treat the problem from the root rather than hiding it.
I went home and decided to look further at my skin under the microscope, I saw things that look like thin threads or fibers, I did a lot of research on it, and found that it looked exactly like Morgellons Disease and its symptoms are almost like scabies symptoms.
I wish Dr Mani had done a skin scraping instead of just diagnosing based on symptoms, which is the same as stereotype, at the end I wasted my time for nothing by seeing Dr Mani.
I was also mis-informed by his secretary, if I had known from the start that they don’t do skin scraping and they just take guesses at Symptoms, I wouldn’t have gone there in the first place and wasted my time.
I’ll be posting this complaint as well on ratemds and other blogs.
A complete disgrace. Dr. Mani Raman is clearly overbooking patients and lets them wait for hours before attending them…. I guess as they say "time is money”. I waited for an hour and a half (with an appointment) and still haven't seen the doctor - eventually, I decided to leave the clinic and needless to say that I’ll never go back or recommend them to anyone. On top of the time wasting, the staff in the clinic was rude and didn't care that people are aging in the waiting room. Save yourself the hustle and find a decent clinic that respects their patients.
Absolute worst experience I've had at a Doctor's office. It took over an hour wait to just see the doctor and when I finally got to see him he was incredibly dismissive he had horrible bedside manner. It is obvious he does not care about his patients. I went to get help for an unusual reaction I get to wet bathing suits and I was shocked when he suggested I don't swim. Needless to say I will never come back here and would not recommend.
