It is very rare these days to get great customer service! Jordan Goodman at the Dufferin store location was wonderful. He was low-key, very helpful and you didn't feel like you were being pressured to buy anything. He showed us all the options, the various styles, the materials etc. He was really knowledgeable! We bought a sofa bed quickly. He arranged a quick delivery, and even that went smoothly! Fast and efficient. We needed the sofa bed in a few days! Shout out to the delivery people, as well!
The whole process was stress-free.

We shopped around for a sofa and Jordan helped answer a lot of our questions & Olga gave a lot of valuable input where we ultimately settled on a customized size and layout that worked our space. Upon delivery, we noticed the sofa did not entirely fill the space we had measured and the included throw pillows were missing. The length of the delivered sofa and ottoman did not measure to what was written on the invoice. We were told factory no longer delivers the size listed on the showroom but my order is "correct". I cannot express my disappointment how so many errors managed to slip through the factory team. On a positive note, we are happy with the sofa, we're just bummed on the smaller size. Overall, Ruth from the service team was very responsive to amend and the sales associate on location were excellent. However, after our experience, we've lost a lot of faith & trust if we were to return. Hope we had a one-off.

My husband and I recently underwent a home renovation, which in my opinion was easier than buying furniture. That was until we visited The Chesterfield Shop and were greeted by Darya.
She was knowledgeable, patient and understanding. It took us serval visits to finalize our choice but in the end Darya’s over and above customer service guided us to the perfect choice. We bought a custom leather sectional from the Chesterfield shop and it was a disappointing and costly experience. During the time of purchase the sales representative did not alert to the firmness of the product being different than that of the showroom and that the chaise would pop up when someone was seated on it. I have learned to never buy a couch that I can't see and sit on as a buyer. While they sent out a sofa specialist to check the foam etc.there was no recourse as a buyer due to no return or exchange policies. The sales and management team was condescending in my experience of trying to problem solve with them once the product was delivered. The product was just ok. My review is more of a caution to buyers regarding custom products from the Chesterfield Shop.

I was greeted as I entered by David Zworth. He invited me to look around and said he’d be available if I had any questions. I had an idea of what type of sofa (chesterfield) I was looking for and I had a specific size in mind. David is very knowledgeable about the size of each item on the floor. He quickly brought me to exactly what I was looking for, gave me detailed information about the manufacturer, warranty, etc. He found the model in stock and arranged for delivery - at my convenience. —so convenient and helpful. I saw a lot of quality merchandise on the floor. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend this local store, especially the sales professional, David.

Buyer Beware. The chesterfield that they delivered is of much poorer quality than the one in the showroom. It is not made well and the foam cushions are losing their shape after only two months use. So far mgmt is denying any responsibility.

Went to Chesterfield showroom yesterday noon & decided on this black leather double sofabed with the help of the Senior Design Consultant Ms Darya Newstead without being pushy but helpful with all the information & details of each of the products we looked at. It’s not yet noon time (less than 24 hrs) & it’s already delivered & we’re now able to enjoy it! Thank you Darya, the delivery guys who are courteous and The Chesterfield Shop! We’re now planning to get our next one soon!

Visited The Chesterfield Shop today to look for new couches. I was greeted by Darya who took the time to show us around the showroom and look at various options. Darya was friendly and patient as my wife and I tested various options. It was really refreshing to see a sales rep.who did not apply any high pressure sales tactics and was not pushy at all. I would highly recommend visiting this location and asking for Darya.

We are long time Chesterfield Shop customers. A few weeks ago we decided to replace our leather sofa that lasted at least 15 years. We went to the Dufferin Street store and we were warmly but genuinely welcomed by Darya. We explained what we were looking for and the price range and Darya showed us a wonderful deal on a great sofa with recliners. The price was a bit more than we wanted to spend but it was a great deal. We were impressed by the appearance and quality and to protect the investment we purchased the extended warranty. Delivered was made as scheduled and we love our new Chesterfield.

We purchased a leather sofa bed (model 473) on May 15,2022. We were told we would have it by the first week in June. When we did not receive it, we phoned the Chesterfield Shop and they said they would let us know by email of when to expect it. We received that email saying that it was far to early to tell us when we could expect it. They would let us know in 8 weeks when we might expect delivery! We did not let that rest and phoned our salesman in the Newmarket store and after repeated phone calls, we finally received it on July 2. BUT, it was completely missing the mattress for the sofa bed! They said they would call the head office and let them know. On Monday, we called the head office ourselves and they had no idea. They told us they would send the mattress as soon as they could. The mattress arrived on July 7. The delivery guys attempted to put it on the pullout part of the sofa bed but it was completely wired shut. They had to flip it all around and undo the wires. They put the mattress on and discovered there were no brackets on the frame to hold the mattress in place! They phoned the head office who said they would ship out the two missing brackets. We did receive a parcel but it only contained ONE bracket and it was the wrong size! After yet another phone call to the head office, they shipped out another parcel and as of July 12,2022 we finally have our sofa bed. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the product, but the service was absolutely abysmal.

EDIT: on July 25, Jim Delpippo, Operations Manager phoned and apologized for the terrible service. He sent us some restaurant gift cards. We appreciated that. Sounds like this experience was a "comedy of errors".

ANOTHER EDIT! We received our VISA bill and instead of charging us $250 for a mattress upgrade, they CREDITED us. What a comedy show! We called to let them know, thinking they may leave things as they were with this additional error, or at LEAST give us the $250 but nope, they were quick to charge $500 to our card to cancel out the $250 credit AND charge us $250 for the mattress. Unbelievable. Honesty pays, eh? Literally….

Terrible quality and service. Ordered Pallister sofa and love seat, total "sale" price over 7K. Expected at least good quality but it doesn't even come close to a brand like Lazy Boy. Within the first few months leather in the back of seat cushions bunched up and creased, damaging the leather (wasn't stretched properly at the factory and poor quality leather - see photos). And the more you use the loveseat, the worse the damage gets. Left motorized sofa seat sunk by a couple of inches only after a couple of months of use. Called service with these issues and was promised a quick resolution - "we will order new foam seat cores, technician will come to install them, will stretch the leather, etc. ". It looks like Pallister also uses inferior foam that deforms only after a few months of use. So after almost three months of repeated emails, which are often ignored, phone conversations and promises to expedite I am still waiting for someone to do something. The cores were supposedly shipped in July from Winnipeg but for some reason haven't arrived a month later "we need to call the factory". Everything is still under full parts and labor warranty but can't get anything fixed. Very disappointed with the Chesterfield Shop, I am sure they can do better.

I had an excellent experience with my purchase as The Chesterfield Shop. Dennis O was my sales rep, he was very knowledgeable of the various products and quality, and very attentive to my questions. He set clear expectations for delivery (6 months) and I was prepared to wait, it worked well for my needs. My sofa ended up coming a month earlier, even with a nearly last-minute fabric change on my part. The delivery men were very capable, polite and respectful of my home, also ahead of schedule which is always great! Best of all, my new Max Home sofa is SO comfortable, well worth the wait. I got to meet Steve and Pam too!

Totally disappointed with product quality and the service. I ordered a chair on Feb 16 2022- expected delivery in June (COVID delays). Put down a 50% deposit. Chair showed up in mid-June and I was charged the remaining cost. However, the chair was shoddily made, and the Chesterfield Shop inspector agreed. They picked up the chair on July 6, and said it would be repaired in 2 weeks. Now it is August 15, and I still do not have the chair that I fully paid for.
What is most disturbing are the lies the Chesterfield Shop Service Dept.spins when I phone to find out where my chair is (they do not call me with updates) - oh it's on the next delivery, oh we will pick it up tomorrow and deliver it on Saturday (August 13), oh the truck broke down so we couldn't pick up the chair, I will find out the chair status from the factory and call you by noon on Monday (it's 10 PM and I am still waiting for that call) etc. How difficult can it be to upholster ONE chair properly? I want the chair now or my money back. Chesterfield Shop are you listening?

Chesterfield Shop contacted me immediately after I posted the above review in frustration. The VP Sales apologized for the order mess up and promised to get my order completed as quickly as possible.
I posted the complaint on Monday. My chair, now upholstered properly, was delivered on Thursday along with gift cards for dinner at The Keg to compensate for the aggravation my order caused me. I am now a satisfied customer and have raised my rating to 4 stars.

This is about the Kennedy Road location.ordered a couch mid march was supposed to be 6-8 weeks, its now the middle of summer I have no couch and they have given no updates. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a different couch yesterday. I am currently having to do a charge back with visa because the manager absolutely refuses to be held accountable. I waited well over twice the estimated delivery date. At this point ive bought a different couch and just want my money back. Also going to speak to the manufacturer about my experience.

What the manager is trying to do with me is the literal definition of a bait and switch. You cannot take my money, give zero updates and months later try to suggest I come take a different one in stock? I am shocked with how they are responding to this.they chose the wrong one.

It's been over a year since I purchased my theatre seats from Walter at the Chesterfield Shop and I've been wanting to leave a review about my experience and never got around to it but I just had to make the time because I can't say enough about how incredible this man was in helping me with my purchase. From my initial phone call when he cleared his schedule and allowed me to go in to see him within 5 minutes of me calling. He was a pleasure to deal with and extremely knowledgeable on all the different theatre seat options and configurations. I could sense his sincerity and genuine nature within minutes of meeting him and made a deal on the spot. The owner of the store, Pam reached out to me within days of my order and gave me her personal number and was like a personal concierge to me throughout the waiting process giving me regular status updates. I was so amazed at the level of service both Pam and Walter provided me with and the quality and function of the seats I purchased that I am looking to make another purchase of the same item for a family member right now. As for the seats themselves they are AMAZING! The are fully automatic and adjustable in multiple ways, they light up, have built in cup holders, tray tables and they're so easy to get in and out of - there's no sinking in and feeling like you've fallen and can't get up like some subpar couches and recliners out there. I would highly highly recommend The Chesterfield Shop and the Palliser line of Theatre Chairs!

Was looking for a particular kind of seating and had already been to a number of shops in the past month. We went to The Chesterfield Shop (Scarborough), where Olga patiently helped us find the couch that fit our needs. She explained the details, answered our questions, and gave us the confidence that we made the right choice.

Everything was done efficiently and like clockwork - bought the couch on Sunday, received a call on Monday to set-up delivery date and time, couch was delivered on Tuesday. Looking forward to hanging out on it today. Thanks for the smooth experience, Olga!

We had a great experience with our couch hunt. Walter was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and upfront with all the details we needed. He made the process so easy and stress free. The Chesterfield shop also has so many customization options available that we did not need to go anywhere else. While our couch won't be coming in for a few months due to covid supply shortages, we highly recommend visiting The Chesterfield Shop and seeing Walter.

Our brand new sectional just arrived last week. We are extremely pleased! It is really comfortable, looks great, is exactly what we ordered, and is of very good quality. It took a loooooong time to come but 1) we were told this in advance, and 2) it's Covid times - we get it. Neither the customer nor the company wants these delays but what are you going to do during these times?
You may be paying higher prices here than say The Brick or the like but in the long run it'll be worth it. Again, quality-made but also, the salespeople know their stuff. These are actual chesterfield SALESPEOPLE - not just someone the Brick hired because they needed a job (I don't mean to slam or single out the Brick here, I just mean any similar store and at the Chesterfield Shop both the product and the level of service are simply of higher quality). Most of the salespeople have been there for years and their knowledge shines through.
I want to make special mention of Jim, the VP of Sales. We had a couple of issues to deal with along the way and the level of customer service we received from Jim was simply outstanding. He was courteous, generous, attentive and made us as customers feel extremely valued. A+

Out of the 4 Couch sets I’ve owned in the 26 years I’ve been on my own, the one I bought from the chesterfield shop has been the worst and the most expensive! I shopped for over a year to get the best quality I could find. I started having problems within the first month, loosing insane amounts of feathers. I sent pics of the feathers problem that were everywhere, of ziplock bag full. Told them it needed better feather ticking. The response was the couch was supposed to be like that. My set is now a year and nine months old. It is still loosing feathers, it’s impossible to keep the cushions from slouching and distorting and now the seems are pulling out of all the seat cushions leaving holes. If you want a company to be responsible for their product, they are Not it! If I could give a zero I would! I saved for this set for over a year on a limited income and totally got a lemon! Buyers beware!

I was helped by Walter at the Dufferin location - he was patient, not at all pushy, happy to answer any and all questions, and clearly had a ton of experience and knowledge in what he does. He was realistic about expected delivery times and gave an honest opinion when asked, and was great about explaining customization options and helping me find something that would fit in my smaller space.

I would definitely come back to this location in the future and look for Walter, and would happily refer him to friends and family looking to buy a nice couch/chair etc.

It took me a while to find the perfect couch to fit my needs, but I finally did at the chesterfield shop. You are paying a bit more, but for both comfort and quality!

Couch shopping was not easy. There are many things to consider and the longevity of the item makes it that much more important to do all the research beforehand. Denis at the Duffern St.location made it easier for us. We thought we wanted a sectional but after speaking to him he showed us the benefits of separate pieces. I'm so glad we purchased from The Chesterfield Shop. Thank you Denis for all your help!

Great couches. My daughter was looking to buy her first couch for her first apartment. It was only chance that we hit a red light on Kennedy and saw the store. I, wrongly, assumed their couches were "old" in style. We saw we liked and she bought her L shaped couch there. There couches and chairs are Made in Canada! She chose the style of arms, legs, length, and fabric. We ahd a mix up at delivery and the longer length of couch couldn't turn the hall bend to go in. We called and for a very reasonable price they seperated the angle part and a few weeks later all was put together on her apartment. This was 3 years ago. It's as comfortable as the first day and is in perfect shape. I think she will have this for amny years to come. When we want another couch we will be back to buy from them. As the salesman said " if they only offer two fabric colour options you know it came of a container". For a little over that kind invest in one to last a very long time. (And keep a few more jobs in Canada.)

We just purchased a sofa and two chairs from the Chesterfield Shop on Yonge Street near Davisville. Our salesperson was Allison and she made the experience pleasant and easy. I generally find it very stressful to select fabric and styles. Allison was so patient and offered tremendous guidance, without being remotely pushy. I highly recommend shopping there and asking for Allison when you do.

Over the past 45 years of marriage my partner and I have purchased at least 5 Chesterfield sets from The Chesterfield Shop. We have NEVER been disappointed with the product or the sales experience. Prior to going to TCS on Dufferin we went to Lazy Boy on Highway 7. The salesperson hovered the whole time we were there and jumped in every time we tried to discuss the furniture with each other. We finally left vowing to NEVER return.

Jordan Goodman on the other hand was a perfect gentleman. He greeted us and then left us alone while we browsed the store. When we did have a question he was right there. After about three hours of sitting on just about everything in the store that was below our price point we made a purchase.

The experience didn't end in the store. The delivery crew were fantastic and the furniture was in perfect condition.

Wow.what a 1st class dismal experience! For the 15min we were there, sales douche "Dez" stepped to us about 5 times. Like we were steak and he hadn't eaten in days. 1st time I get it, that's his job and he works on commission. But by the 5th time he had resorted to pressure tactics which bordered on the abusive. Basically saying that if we couldn't afford the $4000 for an ugly oatmeal colored 2 seater plus chaise sectional then perhaps we should go elsewhere. And that's exactly what we did! On that same day, we ended up getting a 6 piece, RHF, power reclining sectional for 1/2 the cost! Thanks sales douche Dez! BTW: if anyone wanted that ugly $4000 deal they can find it on Wayfair for $700.

Decent quality furniture. Don’t even try to haggle, they are extremely infirm in their pricing habits. 20-50% markup from other Canadian made sofa manufacturers. Staff aren’t very helpful, nor can they truly assist in any design issues or questions. Better off doing your research and going elsewhere.

Delivery driver was extremely rude and impatient. I did not personally make a purchase or order but was blocked in behind the delivery truck. I asked the driver politely to move his truck a few feet so I can leave. He said ok no problem and absolutely ignored me. When his coworker saw that I was waiting in my car, he reminded the driver to move up but refused. Instead, he urged me to snake through the tight space and get out on my own. This small issue would have been resolved within 30 seconds if he was courteous enough to cooperate. Instead I waited 10 minutes and was late to my next appointment.
If this is the type of customer service they're offering then I am positive that the rest of the purchase experience is just as awful.

Great quality and service. One of the few places that puts service at the forefront. They updated me as to when my love seat would arrive and delivered as promised. Selection at their store was great giving you the option of customizing your purchase. Also everything is Canadian made! Store is not fancy but does the job. Delivery guys were excellent. They knew what they were doing and took the time to do it right. They suggested I added felt pads and helped me install them. I don’t usually tip delivery people but gladly did this time. Prices are fair. Paired with the quality and service I would recommend this place to all.

I purchased a leather loveseat and sofa at this North York Chesterfield shop location. I have purchased a couple of sofas at the Chesterfield shop before and always have been very very happy with the service and the quality. Unfortunately, this time after a few days the sofa and live seat, both in leather, started to lose its shape and it was apparent that it needed more stuffing.

After a few phone calls, the problem was addressed and action was taken soon after that. I was treated with respect and interest and an appointment was made to see the problem in person. After the upholsterer saw the pieces, he agreed that they needed to be re-stuffed.
I am happy to say that the problem was rectified and the sofa and loveseat are perfect now.
I want to recommend Chesterfield shop to anyone for their purchases. The customer service is fantastic. A special thanks to Joe, Jim and Ghervi. They were fantastic to deal with.
I will recommend this shop to everyone!
