The Church Key Bistro-Pub

We went for the first time at 3: 30pm on a weekday. The place was basically empty but we were told by the hostess we should always make a reservation and that she needed our table at 630pm. Hardly welcoming. We were coolly received by the sever and noticed she and the hostess were happily animated with other customers. The food was good but pricey. After leaving a 20% tip - to help support staff affected by the pandemic - and saying good bye to the server we got no reply. We will not return here because there is a lot of competition for our restaurant business and we don’t need to be treated as the British say in a “shirty” manner.

This place was excellent! The inside is quaint and the patio is lovely in the evenings. The lamb curry exceeded my expectations for sure

This place is consistently delivers quality food and drinks every time I go. The limited time Elk Meatball pasta was absolutely delicious and that's coming from a born and raised half Italian.

Went with the in laws for my husband's birthday, their cocktails were great, we loved the appetizers (the salmon wrapped scallops and curry chips were delicious, they both were familiar to other dishes but new and exciting at the same time.) We all tried different things off the dinner menu and everyone loved what they got. I noticed that nearly half of the menu was vegetarian.
We also had chocolate cake, and cheesecake for dessert, which everyone at the table loved!

Great service and quality food. The male bartender was very personable and knowledgeable. He was more than happy to make me a couple smoked cocktails which weren’t on the menu. Our food took a little long to come out but nonetheless it was damn good. We decided on the muscles.we would return! Keep up the good work!

A very nice patio lunch! We had a bottle of wine, a few appetizers and two mains. A high end flare on "bistro-pub" fare. The wine selection is just enough. Everything on the menu looked amazing, all of their ingredients are so unique. The staff was superb, very diligent and hardworking, not to mention very personable and quick, all covid things considered.

We love their patio, it's beautiful, the entire space is covered with awnings and each table has an umbrella. You feel somewhat hidden and not like you are right on Richmond Street. We definitely recommend the Church Key- it is busy at all times so definitely make sure that you have reservations!

Had the Smoked Turkey Club, Deeeelish. One of the nicest patios in all of London. Great service and great food. Forgot to take pictures, again. Doh!

The patio is a beautiful setting and kind of peaceful, natural vibe which I loved. The food is pricey, the menu is very limited, not a lot of selections. I love food and will spend any amount for some really good food but the taste of food here isn't proportionate to the price which is sad. And I personally won't say they have the best customer service or maybe it was just that day or our server in particular. But I won't forget the fact that they do have some good tasting beef skewers as appetizers.

Surprisingly Disappointed. We waited well over an hour for our main course meal to show up, anytime we wanted another round we had to ask the waiter, he didn't seem to take any initiative to ask for refills or "how our meal was" after dropping it off at our table. In our two hour stay I could count on one hand how many times he showed up to our table including for the bill (Patio was at best 50% capacity). On top of feeling more or less ignored by our waiter, He messed up one of our two drink orders and one of our meals side was wrong as well. Fortunately the bartender did a great job with our drinks (5 stars). However unless I'm stopping solely at the bar I will, in all likelihood not be returning in the future.

Amazingly unique dishes, great wine selection & their in-house sangria is delicious. My friend took me there for a treat while in town & WOW. Our time there for dinner was made even better by our very personable server Ritchie.

Patio was nice (we were still in phase 2 lockdown), services was fast and polite and the food was really good!
Have to go back now that we can eat indoors too!

Had a 7: 15 reservation, seated promptly. Water and menus delivered and cocktails ordered. After the deliciousness of the halloumi appetizer, we waited for the mains; everything 5* at this point. For she, the smoked pork loin on Mac n Cheese and for me the venison meatloaf with oxtail jus…. Here is where the kitchen let us down. The mac was cold… not very appealing. The meatloaf not properly cooked… edible only around the edges. At the end our entrees were comp’ed and we will be sure to try again. It’s a great patio, excellent service, superb menu… just failed to execute this time.

Food is amazing. We ordered Summer salad which was good but not great. Other food was amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Great-tasting and innovative food, warm and relaxing atmosphere. Amazing selection of beer, wine and spirits too. Desserts to dream about. Something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Had a fantastic night out one Saturday with a few friends of mine. The owner Vanessa greeted us at the door and even though we couldn't sit together because of Covid the staff and service were spectacular. 10/10 church key burger!

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. Both had the rueben. Was tasty enough, although not your typical rueben — came on a pretzel bun, meat was from a roast (delicious, but I am accustomed to thinly sliced corned beef), usually there is melty Swiss cheese, and it didn’t seem very cheesy. There was a creamy Russian dressing, which I enjoyed more than I expects. I did feel the meat to bun ratio was a bit off, even though the meat and the bun were both very tasty. The fries were delicious — obviously fresh cut in house, and the Caesar salad, well was your typical Caesar salad. Good service — overall pleasant experience.

To venison, elk or anything else this chef dreams up like Jamaican jerk beef skewers with mango chutney
And the Plowmans platter is better than any in London by far

My favourite restaurant! The atmosphere is perfect and the food is amazing. The owners and staff are friendly and add to the atmosphere of intimate dining. Prices are low for a 5-star meal!

There is no parking lot for this specific restaurant like most downtown. There is plenty of street parking and parking lots around.

The food here was so tasty. I want more! The appetizers were great, the mains were even better then the desserts were the perfect finish to the meal. Wait staff was super friendly and helpful but also respected distance and wore proper PPE for the current situation.

Prices were very reasonable for a downtown restaurant as well.

Couldn't recommend this spot more for a great meal out for friends and family!
