The Cookstown Pub Co

My brother use to frequent this pub on the regular, he worked at Honda and would go there with co-workers. He invited me and our other brother and we are hooked. My brother passed at the end of September. We met there with my passed brothers best friend on the regular, to honor our brother and enjoy the great food and atmosphere. Even though I travel three hours each way to have a lunch it is worth it.

Food was pretty good, pricey though. We used a bogo coupon and it was still $130 for 4 people.

This was our first time at Cookstown Pub and we were impressed, the wings were great as was the French onion soup and calamari. Prices were average, overall a good experience, we will be back.

Where do i even begin.after asking for another drink we waited for at least 20 minutes before having to physically get up and bring our glass to her.this would be excusable if the restaurant was busy however, we were the only table.i ordered chicken fingers and they came out wrong twice and each time the server acted mad towards me for wanting them right.on top of that, i was charged for many items that i didn’t order and after over an hour of waiting for food, many of our “starters” came out after we were done eating.

We have been going here off and on for a few years and unfortunately have noticed the last few visits that the quality of the food you get is not consistent. The fish and chips my husband ordered was horrible and made him sick. The batter on the fish was soft and mushy and inedible. The fries were cold and undercooked. I advised the server and she admitted that the fish didn’t look right to her but figured the cook in the back knew what they were doing. While the server was nice I found this comment unbelievable. She is the person who is supposed to be looking out for the customer and if she notices something off with the dish she should have said something to the chef/cook. The fish and chips was I believe $18 and we got a $9 discount on that meal because of it being undercooked. I felt that the meal should have been free. I had the pulled pork and sweet potatoes fries. A meal I have had multiple times over the years. The amount of fries I got was less then what used to be served. I didn’t notice anything obviously wrong with by dish however something felt off about it but I was uncertain and figured maybe it was just because my husbands dish was so bad. Turns out I was right about it being off. We no sooner pulled out of the parking lot after leaving the pub and I had bad stomach cramps and barely made it to the washroom o time at home. Not sure what is going on there but whatever changes have gone on are not good and they have lost two long time customers with us.

Awesome place. Very good food, fresh and nicely cooked. Special thanx to Chef. Stuff is amazing. Definitely Recommend

This restaurant is awful.server was rude and inattentive, our food was messed up more then once and we were charged for things we didn’t order.had to ask 3 times for another beer, and when she finally brought us ketchup it was empty.food came out at different times for the same meal.

Glad we continued on off the 400 and found this great spot. Food was great and the server/bartender was super attentive and nice.

Dark. Need to fix the ceiling. Staff was kinda friendly. They could do better, lots of potential!

9.5 out of 10 times it's 10 outta 10.that once or twice a year its an 8.

It's difficult to find a juicy large wing cooked at a consistent quality. It was busy, and the service was prompt and friendly. I'm definitely going back again.

Have been there twice in the last week have never been there before last Thursday n its a great local pub the food is excellent n the people n staff make it what it is! You will see me back more than once i could see this pub knowing my name!

Good wings and fish n chips. Friendly staff not cheap but where is anymore. Patio is nice.

I love the food here. It's a great little pub. The seat cushions in the booth area should be replaced. The price's are reasonable. I highly reccommend the sheppards pie!

This is a great little local spot. The food was fresh and well made. Have a good selection of beer on tap. The service was friendly and quick. Dont be put off by the smokey smell as the pizza hut next door had a large fire.
