Tremendous transformation! It’s been years since I have stayed on the shores of Newboro lake and Cottages at Turtle Hill are a perfectly updated lodging option right on the water.
Clean is an understatement. The Water Poppy our group of 4 stayed in looks like new with very tasteful renovations (likely complete down to the foundation). Great airy space with very nice architectural style and clearly a gifted touch at decorating the interior with lake reminders all around. Great design with the clear panel deck to give an unobstructed view of the water just a couple meters from your back door.
Comfortable and roomy in the living areas with cozy bedrooms makes this a great design for a family or small group getaway. It almost seems too perfect with the beautifully reworked landscaping and the obvious care and attention to detail around every corner.
We will certainly be coming back, perhaps in the summer to enjoy more time on the water! Thank you, Karly, for a wonderful stay!

We just had a short stay there but were very impressed. Very clean and well maintained cottage with everything you need. The view of the lake is beautiful and the owner is friendly and helpful. Looking forward to a longer stay next year.

Cattail cottage was lovely and cozy. Well appointed, very clean, queen bed was extra firm (yay) and double seemed to have memory foam type topper. Loved it despite being a woman of a certain age with an upstairs bedroom and a downstairs bathroom.
Sole big downside for me was the lake was weedy right up to the dock (so no swimming for me). There were some water craft available so you could swim further out I guess.

Amazing location and the house is gorgeous with everything you could want! We went with 6 ladies for a weekend sewing get together and we were very happy and cozy. It is a short walk to Kilborns on the Rideau and has a pretty view even in the winter. Our host Karly made sure we had whatever we might need! Nothing was missing for our comfort. We all agreed we want to go back to this amazing place!

This year will be our 10th season at the Turtle & so looking forward to making more fabulous memories. Couldn’t ask for a better place to make them other than “The Turtle”!
