Great local boating shop that seems to have just about everything you might need for your boat.

The last one left standing on the waterfront. West Marine is gone, Genco is gone. For any boat related product, it's the only place left to go downtown. I love going in even just to browse.

This place is the best! It’s fully stocked with everything you could ever need for your boat. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and also very well connected to the boating community. So if for some reason they don’t have what you need, they will at least have an answer. I’ve even found myself relying on this place for hardware when I’m doing work in the area rather than heading to the Home Depot or some place like that.

The boys here are amazing. They take care of Mr. Carson & myself every.single.time we go in. Whatever we need, they have it, either advice, a connection, a part, a piece, a super expensive fancy GPS. It's all there.

PS I helped with your initial computerization.

Walked 40 minutes and waited for an hour for opening time (9am) on a Monday morning. Arrived to discover a note on the door saying they open at 1235pm! This information on your website would have saved me a walk and 2 hours of my time.

The store is conveniently located and is packed wilh the items you need or even don't really need! If not in stock. It's a day or so away as they order ANY items you may need no matter where it has to come from. It offers the best selection of odds and gift items. Best selection of waxes (Collinite Wax is the BEST WAX for your boat) 2mm to 3/4" 7/8" 1" ropes. A fun great place to shop, the owner Mike is very knowledgeable and will do whatever it takes to help you get what you need. The only "Chandler's Shop.

It's the only marine shop in the city, but the selection is terrible. I've stopped in here four times looking for parts and always been disappointed. The staff are unfriendly and not helpful. Be prepared to be disappointed and make a rush trip to Fogh after your visit.

Items I was unable to find are: large stainless steel rivets (stocked, but when I was there only two remained and I couldn't complete my repair), cam racing cleats (of any variety, not stocked at all), swivel base cam cleats, dinghy jib rails/tracks, dinghy chain plates.

The Dock Shoppe has been my "go to" chandlery for the past year as I have been slowly rebuilding an old sailboat. The staff, and particularly Mike the owner, are all a wealth of knowledge and have never been anything but warm and courteous to me. Despite what I have read in some of the reviews below, I have found the pricing to be extremely competitive with any other chandlery in Canada, and I have researched everything including fuel lines, hand pumps, exterior pants, heads, etc. I would honestly question some of the less than positive reviews below and would question the motivation behind them as I consider myself a very informed shopper, and my experience suggests The Dock Shoppe is among the top. Highly recommended!

I have known Mike for over 30 years. He is a person with integrity and has endured the ongoing evolution of the harbourfront and construction issues. I applaud your perseverance and wish you continued success going forward. Retail is not always the easiest way to make a living but you have made a difference and held your head high! All the best

This is it. Mike is the champ. Everyone else has run from the harbour but the dock shop has outlived them all. Highly recommend. Yes it's cheaper on amazon but you can touch stuff here. Support your local guy cause cheap won't have your back when the poop hits the fan.
