The Dog & Bear Pub

We came here at the end of our pub hop, and enjoyed it! Server was alright, she was curtious and polite, though I think she might of had a section outside, so she was a little quick with us, but that's not her fault in that situation as we are both in the industry and understand.

Only giving 4 stars as we were only there for a drink and shared an app. Willing to come back and spend more time there and try other things!

I would recommend trying out this place as the vibe and feel of the place is very friendly and a classic pub at heart!

Wonderful waitress helped us get our food super fast as we had tickets to amateur wrestling down the street. Apparently one of the wrestlers works at the bar! Great atmosphere and staff. Plus the chicken fingers were tasty.

Very tasty food. Had wings, poutine, and Baha taco. All very good. Service was excellent as well

Bar was understaffed.
Serving staff was poorly trained & discourteous.
Great location and drink selection.
Needs to owners.

Average pub fare however the lack of physical menus detracts from the experience. Service not particularly friendly.

Typical bar food but nothing special. The good reviews are based more on the character of Kenny from the t.v show Kenny vs Spenny. But this place wouldn't survive in N. Y. C.

Great service, nice layout, many tv's around which is perfect for games, good food, good drinks, and great location, currently has a patio open.

This place is pretty good! Very spacious and well decorated. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Chicken wings were pretty good, not as good as Hooters but did the job. Mozzarella sticks were the best!

Great British pub downtown and the Dog and Bear definitely tops that list. A great and friendly staff is accompanied by an amazing atmosphere. The service is fast with excellent food. The cheese steak sandwich is a standout on the menu and a must try.

Limited options during our visit when it came to food items. However what we had was delicious and the service was excellent.

Authentic British pub. Good place to watch Premier League football and have a few pints. Didn't try the food.

Went here to celebrate NYE and will never be back! To start the bar didn’t even have a count down to 12am. The music was horrible and not a fun vibe. When a few of the people in my group went to request a song (which is completely a normal thing to do) they ended up getting kicked out.the DJ unexpectedly touched one of my female friends arm and aggressively placed it on himself, he then proceeded to tell the bouncers she touched him. When my male friend asked for a song he got treated much more aggressively. The DJ pushed him away and the bouncers grabbed him to throw out my friend. He was not resisting and yet still got punched in the nose, which ended up bleeding for a while. Clearly the place was basically empty for a reason.

Went here for New year's and politely asked the DJ to play a song. He grabbed my hand, brushed it against his arm and then proceeded to tell security I grabbed him and to kick me out.

I have never been this insulted or violated like this in my life. NEVER GO HERE!

Great food normally, however sub par service. Expect a wait on game nights, and sub par food when busy. My fish was half raw on Friday and was horrible service, fish made me sick for a day after.

Nice place, Great food specialy snacks and sándwiches, Great atmosphere mates, and if you want to watch a match you should come to this place and enjoy

Decent sports bar with plenty of TVs. A great place to watch football, basketball or hockey and have a pint

Lots of screens + big. Service was good. Booths are very uncomfortable. Wings are disappointing.
Nachos and tenders were good. Gets very loud w. Ppl talking.

Cool little pub to go and get traditional English drinks and food. It can easily get loud though, so keep this in mind with when you want to visit. I enjoyed the food, but my friends seemed to not have an equally good experience. Overall our group seemed to have a mixed experience, but not a bad one overall.

If you’re a vegetarian or vegan don’t even bother with this pub.
I went on a Wednesday for their burger special of burger + a pint for $20 only to find out the veggie burger is not included in that deal which seemed unfair. I moved on to ordering the Veggie nachos and asked for the sour cream to be on the side, turns out the waiter didn’t even bother to tell the kitchen and sour cream was all over the nachos.

They clearly don’t care about a paying customer and their dietary restrictions. It’s almost 2020 get with the times.

Horrible service bartender pours premium liquor without being asked and then the bill is quite a shock

Good service, good food but the tv locations behind the bar are troublesome. Dont come here is you wamt to watch a game at the bar.

The tvs behind the bar should be higher as you constantly have bar staff walking in front of them

Decent food, good beer selection. Staff were super friendly and fairly attentive. Nice big space, would be good for work functions.

Bartender was rude, they played raps October game over TFC conference final game on TV even though I called ahead of time to check if the TFC game was on, and lied and said there were raps fans that wanted to watch the game. Sure. Not coming back.

The place to be to watch soccer, with really friendly staff and you have to try the vegetarian burger to believe it!

Love the layout of the bar! Great spot for the big footy game. Had a band playing hot tracks on the Friday evening. Can’t go wrong!

I like this bar.its big and spacious and ideal to watch sports. Good selection of beers on tap too. Has Mill St Organic on tap which is my favourite The staff are friendly and attentive. Food menu looks good too.

Great English Pub on Queen West. The best place to watch a Raptors or Leafs game in the west end. They also have Djs on Friday and Saturday nights.

Went to watch raptors game 6 vs the bucks. Theybwere full and i had to wait in line for an hour. Eventually i got in and saw the game. Lots of screens. Decently priced drinks. Nachos were decent too. Clean bathrooms. Dont know if ill ever go back but it was a good time nonetheless

The drinks were a decent price but the service wasn't all that great. The atmosphere also changed from a smallish bar-type to a club-type atmosphere in a very short period of time.

Excellent place to go for a good time. The layout is fantastic with big booths, the food was phenominal and the staff were very friendly

Great location, seems hidden away. Nice atmosphere, clean. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the frequency of service or getting the bartenders attention. The second bartender was far better but the first one ruined the experience.

Pretty good place to watch some games or gather with people and have two beers.
Prices are good for beers and their food is nice.
Only issue I had was absence of toilet paper in the washroom.

I walked in on a Monday with a group of 3. The overall ambiance of the place is nice and relaxing. We sat in a booth near the back. The booth was big but quite uncomfortable. The server was really nice and helpful. The overall bill was a tad more than expected. The bathroom was fairly dirty despite the place being quite empty for a Monday.

Overall a pretty good experience but the cleanliness and comfort took away from the experience in a very slight way. Would definitely go back and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

So I am sharing this as I live locally and have frequented this location many times - it is your basic pub/bar. Great for watching sports and catching up with friends. But.a family member of mine went to this bar, a wonderful and amazing woman in her mid-thirties.a professional health care worker.and someone that does not ever get in trouble. EVER! And she called me at 2am last night (as I was home working all night) extremely upset and shaken.she was at the Dog and Bear for her friend's birthday but was sitting at the bar watching basketball and having a drink keeping to herself and out of nowhere a bouncer came up behind her and said "you are the chosen one" and physically grabbed her and removed her from the bar and threw her into a back alley.for absolutely NO reason. She was not drunk. She was not talking to anyone. She was having a drink and watching basketball and then was physically assaulted by a bouncer. First, Dog and Bear I plead with you to respond to this as my friend, a young woman, was 1. Physically assaulted by one of your employees and 2. As a young woman you put her in danger throwing her out of the bar into a dark back ally. This is such a shame while also completely disgusting.as I have frequented this place enough to know that there are all sort of drunks and loud guests.there are street people who harass you and you enter and exit the place, and I have never seen anyone asked to leave so that this happened to her is both terrifying and disgusting. You have lost my patronage and I will certainly be warning all women I know in the area and their partners about this incident.

Horrible smell to the place and with the exception of a few the service is horrible and food sub par.being a Queen West bar one should expect more.plenty of other spots close by that are much more classy!

I was seeing a concert across the street and needed to grab a quick bite. The woman at the venue suggested Dog & Bear and described it as decent bar food. So I was not expecting my burger to be as good as it was, and it was very good. The house salad on the side was also well above par. I thought I was settling for the pub across the street, but instead I got a delightful surprise.

The bartender here felt the need to charge my friends 8$ for a simple rum and coke, but then charged me specifically for 10$. Will never go back to this place again when it's employees rip off patrons for their own gain.

Okaii, lots of throw back music the night I went I am guessing it was a theme. I enjoyed it though. Lots of seats, security was polite, bar tenders had a little additute but I would too when dealing with that much people. So overall good place.
