Horrible service and food.

I went there today for pickup and grabbed the classic breakfast with eggs, sausage and homefries. The Asian lady who was working is extremely rude and literally tossed my bag on the counter and then pushed it/slid it to me instead of handing it to me like a decent human being. She also cut me off several times when I was trying to ask for condiments.

Food: homefries were soggy and undercooked, bread was also soggy. Little to no seasoning on the entire meal.

Avoid this spot at all costs. Not worth your money.

We went for breakfast here today…. What a mistake, we only live five minutes away and used to come regularly, but after a very poor meal we have not been for a while. We mistakenly thought we would give them another chance.
My Wife had a chicken benny and I had a regular pea meal benny. There were only three tables occupied. A few couples came in after us. We waited far too long for service, in fact two couples walked out, tired of waiting I guess.
Our meals took forever, both meals were very lacklustre and the coffee didn’t taste of coffee at all.
We paid and left going straight home, as I said we only live five minutes away, by the time we pulled into our driveway we were wondering who was going to use the bathroom first…. We both ended up in both our bathrooms for well over fifteen minutes, My wife is dizzy and feeling pukey and I have without a word of exaggeration explosive diarrhea. My god we feel absolutely awful, we ate nothing before we went there since the previous nights supper, so it had to be the breakfast.
Certainly not the egg and I of old, you could always be sure of a good meal.
For us never again, why can’t I give minus stars, this place now deserves ten of those.

Great place! The staff are AMAZING and so friendly! Try the Omelettes, Benes or Clubhouse Sandwhich!

The food was tasteless to the point I couldn't eat it, never got the juice I ordered, my wife said her French toast tasted like Styrofoam and was unable to finish her meal. This used to be a great place to eat. Don't know what happened.

It took a long time to get our food. The grilled chicken sandwich was maybe a 6 out of 10 for flavor. Not a real fan

Michelle a.k. A "Michy", was on point; to the T. It's like she snapped her fingers and made it all happen. Absolutely unbelievable service. If for some strange reason, the food doesn't impress and get you excited; Michy will. Guaranteed!

Totally cheaped out. More money. Less food.no substitutions. Substitution is 3.oo but only half of what you used to get

Hate to leave a bad review but I’m just being honest. Came in on the October 29 at about 1pm. We ordered 2 steak and benny, side sausage and pecan pancakes.
The pancakes were delicious, a little under cooked but that’s okay.
Steak and benny is just horrible, the steak has an off taste to it. Almost like it was going bad. And side potatoes were not fresh and tasted like the grill if that makes sense. We took 2 bites out of the steak before sharing our concerns with our serve. She was apologetic and told me she would share her concerns with the kitchen and thats about it. Never asked if we could get something else, just asked if we would like our bill. She brought our bill over and did not remove the steak and benny. As I was paying I asked her why the items weren’t removed. I was told she couldnt because there was no manager in. Which doesn’t make sense. After we paid the server came back with some coupons told me “these were for us, if we ever decide to come back again”.
Food wasn’t the best and service wasn’t the greatest either. Would not return

Nov. 1 2022. We were pleasantly surprised by Michelle a cheerful waitress, please remember it is 7am. Michelle's service was great. My coffee cup was never empty and food tasted wonderful. Thank you again Michelle

Service was great but not happy with my steak and eggs. Steak was not cook properly. I ordered med rare and got well done. I also ordered cooked onions with my steak and the onions was mostly burned/crispy black.

This used to be the spot for breakfast. Now their portions small and the food quality not as good.

Arrive a couple of hours earlier before closing a young blond girl working on Saturday Aug 20 took my order, brought drinks and spills a couple due to the fact she had 4 glasses in her hand. Took order and after 15min brought the wrong order. Another 15 to get it right and right after she serve she ask if we wanted a doggy bag at least she came 4 times while eating the forth time she express that oh you haven’t finish. All this in half an hour. We pay her I went to washroom and while there another older girl turn off the lights it was peach black! Took me a few min to find the door nob to exit the washroom. Wh n I went out just smile. Apparently the girl that serve me had to close her till an hour earlier and the place was not closing at 4 instead 3pm last min. I can tell you if they have problems I do to but don’t go to hours before closing they push you to eat give a wrong order and on top of that left you with no lights in a filthy room.

Always tasty food. The inside atmosphere is comfortable. Staff are pleasant. And the outdoor patio is very nice.

Incredible. The eggs and coffee are delicious. The treatment was unbeatable. Highly recommended

Just had lunch at the Ancaster location. Friendly atmosphere, great food.and I'd like to specifically mention our waitress Jade who was thoughtful, engaging and a top-notch representative of your restaurant and brand.

Went today for late lunch after a short wait were seated by a waitress who brought menus and cutlery with her
She brought our drinks and left
After waiting for several minutes she never returned we waited longer and I mentioned loudly which the busboy must have heard she reappeared with more cutlery and said “oh I sat you already”.
She took our order and brought our food finally and said I will be right back with more coffee and your toast. She never returned with either. After awhile she returned with our bill and said she would be back with the credit card machine. She never came back so I finally went to the counter where she was to pay. She had two machines which she could not get to work and again after a lengthy wait I said I would help her out and paid in cash. Gave $40 for a $32 bill and she asked if I needed change. I said yes. Why I even gave her a tip is beyond me. I do not intend to return again. Too bad an experience.

Awesome food experience everything was delicious. Are waitress Michelle was awesome as well. She welcomed us with a big smile. Definitely worth checking out. Thanks Michelle

We had great meals there were 13 of us. Service was excellent and food was great. Would definitely go again.

Absolutely terrible food. Had Salmon eggs Benny and was super salty. Threw it all up about 3 hours later. Cross contamination with the cooking as the had a massive pile of home fries sitting on back of grill cooking raw eggs and bacon in the same area. Waitress have attitudes although most likely overworked so can't fault them for that. Never again!

Excellent, tasty, huge portions, friendly staff who remember what we had over 4 years ago. It’s a no-brainer.

We tried this restaurant out for the first time this morning. Both my spouse and I ordered water (with a coffee for him and a chocolate milk for me). The server brought out one water with the rest of our drinks. Figured maybe she didn't hear me order one. Fine. I ordered a broccoli and cheddar omelette with white bread, spouse ordered "You're the boss" with all bacon. When our food came, I was given wheat bread and the cheese on the omelette was a kraft single slice. My spouse was given sausage and with no bacon. The coffee tasted burnt. The pancakes were yellow and the homefries tasted stale. Overall awful experience. $40 for food we left at the table.

Today, we decided to try for the first time. When we arrived there was a please wait to be seated sign. Several times the servers looked over at us, but no one came to seat us. The couple behind us, the lady went over to the servers and she was seated. After waiting another couple minutes, a server finally called us over. At this point we should have already left. The server who seated us took our coffee order, but it was a fair amount of time for it to come out. Then after we were half way through those coffees, our order was finally taken. We ordered eggs and toast. Nothing fancy. After waiting 40 minutes, the server topped off my coffee and when I asked her when our food was coming she said 2 minutes. When I said the table beside us, in front of us and a 8 person table had all come in after us and were halfway through their meals, our food finally came. However, it still wasn't right. My spouse ordered white toast and got wheat, and the toast had an insane amount of butter, but after being in the restaurant for way too long, we ate it to leave. We had heard great things about this restaurant, but will not be returning.

I order the "classic" fairly regularly at the Egg & I and have never been disappointed. Really good breakfast. The staff are friendly and attentive. They come around to top up your coffee well before you can empty your cup.

What a lovely place with great food and even better staff. The servers are always so lively and friendly. 10/10

Kmly place so far thar had perfect my eggs - poached hard.usually I have to send back because not cooked enough.

Missed the egg & I during lockdowns. Soon as they re-opened I was there. I think they have the best breakfast around.

Excellent service. Hit or miss with food quality. The first time I went the food was amazing. Yesterday, the food was horrible, but the waitress was great. I got a burger and home fries and the burger tasted like unseasoned beef, yuk, and the fries were so under they were crunchy on the inside. Coffee was passable. Maybe it was just an off day, but I won't be craving this place for a long time.

Terrible COVID precautions. Even if it was not busy when we went, we waited 30 mins for breakfast and when it was bought out it was cold.

Love this place! Friendly Service always with a smile! Home made and fresh every time! Great portions sizes are like non other! Glad to be able to enjoy once again!

Masks mandatory, tables socially distanced also a patio is available and washrooms open. Looks like a change of ownership, all new staff, menu is basically the same before covid hit. The staff were friendly, food was delicious and the coffee was bottomless. This was our first eat in, really enjoyed it.

The food is unseasoned and tasteless. The service is disorganized. We didn't receive our full order.

Went for brunch on July 25th at the Ancaster location. Used to love this place but our recent experience was awful. Such slow service we had to get up from the table and ask someone to take our order. Then it took about 45min before food arrived, and two out of our three orders were wrong. I ordered the asparagus and Swiss cheese eggs Benedict. I was served an asparagus omlette on an English muffin, topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, which wasn't even on the menu! Sent the food back and had to wait another 20min to get the correct order. Not sure if there's new staff in the kitchen, but service needs serious improvement if they want customers to return.

I always just give positive reviews as a personal rule. However during this time is the perfect time to reprint change prices. It seems when the egg and I cleaned the place up a bit they jacked up the prices. The one in Ancaster at least. They've cleaned the place up, and also seems only hire attractive young ladies and put them in tight black outfits and now over charge. On the bright side, good food, and lol good service. However you guys must realize all the service you are losing, however since the prices of your food has doubled, as long as you have not lost half your customers, you'll still be making more money. But it is upsetting, my friends circle have stop going their, and my uncle and his friends stopped going their, and same as one of my aunts. So monthly just to my knowledge you've lost at least 30-35 orders. Food is good though, best gravy around! But prices way you high.

Fabulous food and comfortable atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
